korin's animal motif is a crow because he's a little guy that picks up scraps and lives in the city. and he's very very smart but uses his intelligence to get free food and to pull pranks.
but he is also a major nuisance to people without trying. he has an ability where if he makes eye contact with someone, he sees sudden flashbacks or glimpses into that person's mind or past. it often reveals very dark secrets. It makes him a huge liability and everyone wants him dead.
but no matter what people do... he just survives? it's like extremely good luck but also a lot of bad luck. it's like he's crit failing or nat 20ing all over the place.
also Kalatran tries to dig through his mind with evil magic but he gets overwhelmed bc Korin doesn't take adhd medication

Fictober 2022: Day 4
Fandom: Star Wars: The Old Republic
Warnings: none.
Prompt: "How would that even work?"
"I said this was going to be the last time I followed you into any creepy Sith artifact hunts the last time you made me do this," Korin complained as he followed Sorand into the ancient ruins. "How'd I get roped into this again?"
"Because I'm your favourite brother and you love me," Sorand retorted over his shoulder.
"You're my only brother," Korin pointed out. He heavily sighed, and promptly sneezed as the brothers' feet kicked up dust. "So what sorta Sith things are you looking for again?"
"There's a relic here, supposedly," Sorand answered. "It's supposed to be part of a ritual to drain the Force out of someone."
"... How would that even work? Wouldn't that just kill them?"
"Not necessarily. If done right, it's supposed to drain the Force, or rather the Force-sensitivity, out of a person while keeping them alive." Sorand looked back over his shoulder. "And for obvious reasons, we don't want the Empire getting their hands on this. Can you imagine what they'd do if they got that relic and Xaja in the same room? Or me?"
Korin made a face. "Fair enough. So we go in here, find that relic, get it back to Gnost-Dural, and hope the Imps haven't found this place yet?"
"Oh, I'm afraid it's quite too late for that little plan of yours," spoke another voice. A tall humanoid figure stepped out of the shadows ahead of the brothers, one hand holding the relic, the other crackling with lightning. "Imperius the traitor, and his brother the spacer… Emperor Vowrawn will be pleased to learn of your demise at my hand."
Korin exchanged a look with Sorand, then sighed and drew his blasters. "Not a chance we can convince you to just surrender without a fight, is there?" he asked.
The Sith laughed. "Don't insult me, Republic pet! I am loyal to the Emperor, and he wants this little toy to play with! Perhaps he'll test it on the traitor before executing him!"
Sorand shook his head and drew his lightsaber. "There's always a complication," he muttered. "You ready?"
"As I'll ever be," Korin confirmed as the Sith raised their hand to shoot lightning at the pair. "Let's get this over with."

This fall I finally get to see one of my favourite dark wave bands KORINE! 🥹👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I’m always happy to travel to places to see bands. Sadly they won’t be in Detroit, but they will be in Toronto so they’re definitely worth the drive. 😌
