31 days of Ficmas - Doctorrose, day 6. Prompt: Cocoa @doctorroseprompts

Rose curled up on the couch, this time not in the library but in the viewing room. Several blankets piled up around her as she burrowed deeper and deeper into them, her eyes rimmed with red.

It took the Doctor several hours to find her, but when he did he took a peek into the room before heading to the galley. Determined to make her a nice warm drink and maybe some snacks. His first thought was tea, but despite his trying to find it the TARDIS would only show him hot coco.

Huffing he took it and got the milk heating up as he paced some more. Making his way over to the pantry he pulled out a pack of jammy dodgers, reaching further back her found some other biscuits. Satisfied he set them down as he set about making hot cocoa for Rose.

As he stirred the drink one of the drawers of the fridge opened up, whipped cream front and center. Taking the hint he grabbed it and swirled it onto the drink before setting it on a tray. Carefully picking it up he made his way back to the viewing room which the Old Girl had moved closer.

Knocking on it with his foot he called out to Rose, "Can I come in?"

Looking up at him Rose nodded, a small yes coming from her as she grabbed another tissue. Maneuvering closer to her the Doctor set the tray down on the table in front of the couch.

Sitting next to her he asked, "Mind sharing those blankets?"

She let out a wet laugh as she rolled her eyes and lifted them up, shivering as she did so. Moving quickly the Doctor slid in next to her, being able to properly see her now he gave her a hug.

"Made some cocoa..."

When she didn't respond he trailed on, "Weeeelll, I was wondering if perhaps you'd like some?"

With a gentle nod he reached out and grabbed the cup, setting it in her hands as she nuzzled closer. Lightly wrapping one arm around her he asked a very simple question, "Do you want to watch a movie?"

Her smile was answer enough as he grabbed the remote, pulling Rose closer to him as a movie was pulled up. It wasn't going to be easy, but they'd be fine. They just had to take some time.
