Gravity Falls: 2.11 Not What He Seems
The twins wonder if they really know Grunkle Stan after he is taken into custody by the government agents.
this episode is everything. The title references one of the first ciphers you could find in the show: STAN IS NOT WHAT HE SEEMS. The end of episode one has Stan being super sketchy. You spend all of season one wondering when he’ll turn evil. And then he doesn’t. You’re pulled along. You learn to love him. And then he’s being MORE suspicious right in front of your face in season 2. NWHS premieres. The kids have to question if they trust Stan. YOU question if you trust Stan. Everything’s happening all at once and then the whole sequence at the end. Oh my god. Heart stopping. Dippers betrayed shouting, Soos’s desperate protection of the kids, Mabel! MABEL! Her trust, her belief, despite EVERHTHING. And then the end. Oh my god the end. The reveal that broke the fandom. Shattered everyone. NWHS is the best piece of TV I’ve ever seen.
the next episode didn't come out for two months and the fandom was frothing at the mouth waiting for it.
The drama. The mystery. We've known forever that Stan was hiding something. We get a payoff to the portal. We find out who The Author Of The Journal is and It's His Fucking Twin. That one scene where gravity turns off and he escapes the cops (feds?). Mabel saying Grunkle Stan, I Trust You. Most iconic and badass episode of the show.
It is just incredible. The biggest reveal of the series happens at the end (this description will contain spoilers but I'm staying vague as possible until the end where it will spoil the reveal to give people time to stop reading this). The amount of suspense and emotional tension that builds and builds over the episode is just incredible. Even after seeing it dozens of times I am on the edge of my seat watching it. The way Dipper and Mabel find out pieces of the puzzle, both things the audience has seen and been speculating on, and new things. The way their first theory about Stan is presented and then show the painting of him smiling CHILLS. And the scene in the basement where Stan finally gets there and he and Dipper have such an emotional fight about all the secrets. And then Mabel caught in the middle and how she is distressed but ultimately trusts Stan. Oh the shot of her letting go is so iconic. And then of course the big author reveal moment is the most amazing thing ever. Ok here is the SPOILER WARNING FOR THE BEST TWIST IN THE SHOW The way Ford's silhouette is seen coming out of the portal then the six fingered hand over the journal and then his face is revealed while Stan says The author of the Journals... my brother. Just top tier scene in every way. I don't think any episode in any other show has ever done to me what this episode does to me.

hey pasta! I don’t know if someone has asked this already but is TRT gonna go into Born Again or end at season 3?
So that's where I'm not sure! The current outline is as such:
All Major Arcs (including Cyrus James/Project Beagle fallout arc and psychic abilities arcs): scheduled to wrap up a bit after the end of S3 so that Matt and Jane's arcs/development neatly dovetail together. This will mark the official end of TRT's main fic.
Special Additional Arcs (chaptered fics not attached to main fic but still TRT canon, taking place after end of main fic) in no particular order: Endgame/The Snap arc, Spider-Man: NWH arc, Spoiler Removed arc, tentative She Hulk Shenanigans arc.
Oneshot Arcs: various domestic fluff arcs, interactions with major MCU events, a 'What Their Life Is Like When Old Cause GD It They're Going To Live To Old Age And Will Have Rocking Chairs' arc, a SINGLE take it or leave it 'What If?' fic of something funny with a possible daughter cause damn I had this idea for a hilarious scene and it won't leave me alone
Now, those are what are planned in the outline, and the main event with Project Beagle tie-ins and plotlines and all of that is something I'm still planning to end just after S3 because I really do want to have a finish line for that, and I feel like dragging that all out for Born Again wouldn't work for the... events that are going to happen, without saying too much. Once that's wrapped up, that's when you're going to see TRT finally marked as 'complete' on AO3, though there'll be more fics set in that universe (see special additional arcs and oneshot arcs) that I'll mark as in the Devil and Hound series along with drabbles on tumblr.
Once we're past that official endpoint and those special arcs, though, things get fluid and murky since when I was outlining all the major plotlines, there was no Daredevil: Born Again, nor was Matt even in the MCU officially (which is why Spider-Man pops in way sooner in TRT than he meets Matt in the MCU) and I specifically set up Jane's plotline to bookend with Matt's so their growth twined together and they both finally found peace around the same time. Outside that, I'd planned some shorter chaptered stories in the series post-mainline TRT like the Snap arc that I may now adjust (since it sure is looking like Matt was left behind for the snap) but nothing on the level of TRT's main plotline which is absolutely massive and took me years to fully outline and construct before coming back from hiatus in 2021 and pumping out chapters (Happy six year anniversary to TRT on Sept 15!).
ALL THAT BEING SAID.
I do have plans to write stuff for TRT's take on Born Again because I'm 100% married to writing for Matt at this point and there's no possible way I won't want to do something once I'm being fed Charlie!Matt scenes again. I'm not sure what those plans are just yet - I kinda wanna wait and see what happens in Born Again in case it sparks something. But I also want to make sure that no matter what I do, there's some sort of strong original plotline so that, much like mainline TRT, we'll be able to weave in and out of canonical events (especially since things like the Snap or a wedding or Jane and Matt's friendship with Peter will alter canon). I don't think I'm going to do something quite as huge as TRT's main plotline again, mostly because it takes a TON of time and work, and I'm planning to take the original TRT elements and morph them into an original series fit for publishing (different enough that I can leave TRT up for everyone to read, cause at this point the fic's part of DD fandom culture and I have no plans to take that away) which will also take a ton of time. But I'm definitely rattling my brain around, looking at different plotlines I could do knowing what I know about the ending, hunting for loose ends or canonical threads that I can weave in with TRT's world and create something new!
Then again, I never would have said I'd make something as massive as TRT before I started, either, so who knows.
So in short: YES, there will be TRT events for Born Again even if it's not as elaborate as TRT! I just have no idea what those will be yet. Fortunately, TRT mainline's only a little over halfway done so I've got time to plan!

I really wanna see Pavitr and how he comes to terms with Gayatri being a Gwen Stacy aka someone destined to die, but also: Remember Spiderman No Way Home, Andrew Garfield said his MJ (AKA his Canon event love interest/endgame) was Gwen? Do you think that's possible for Pavitr and Gayatri? Or Gwen and Miles? I'm so curious aaaa (in reality I'm just scared that Pavitr and Gayatri don't end up together-) and I'm real curious to see what you think!!
ok ok it is 1am (again) but i do think they have pretty good chances of staying together (at least gayatri being alive) uhh slight spoilers for spiderman nwh if u haven't watched it
miles already "breaking a canon event" by saving officer singh i think is a pretty good indication that this whole canon event thing isn't the end all be all and I just personally think gayatri will survive? i feel like they might do a "she almost dies but gets saved last second" like how peter 3 saved peter 1's mj in no way home
idk i think a big reason why pavitr joins gwen's spider band at the end of the movie is because officer singh was saved by miles and i think he'd be a lot more aware of keeping gayatri alive. im not sure if he knows though? he might not cause he's a new spiderman and a lot of canon events haven't happened to him yet (which is Messed if you think about it they're literally not telling him!!!) though somebody might break the news to him since they're all getting together now
but yeah hopefully pav and gayatri stay together in the end they had my heart :(

😂🎶😭 for the fanfic ask game!
😂 (What’s the funniest comment someone has left on a fic of yours?): I feel like this answer was harder to come up with than it should have been. After looking through my comments, I think the funniest ones are either a comment someone left on one of my Lord of the Flies fanfictions on Wattpad (that particular fic is only on Wattpad) that said "Wow jack should have just screamed in c sharp instead of the group using the conch" (copied and pasted), which is funny if you're in the fandom but probably means nothing if you haven't read the book. Or it's the comment someone left on my Norman-/Goblin-centric fic Car Crash (where Norman speeds through a red light on his way to work and gets t-boned by another car) that said "Dont use glider methods when on the actual road folks" (copied and pasted) which I thought was funny.
🎶 (What music do you listen to while you write?): I usually write without any music on. But when I'm struggling to write, I'll sometimes put on a playlist that's just a mix of a bunch of different songs, from pop to musical scores to movie scores and lots of other stuff. If I need to focus deeper on the writing sometimes I'll put on classical music.
😭 (Have you ever made yourself cry writing a fic?): I don't think I've ever fully cried writing a fic. But I tried to get close while writing the end of my Lord of the Flies fic I Promise, because the main character was close to dying and I wanted to make it as sad as possible (and then for the readers to realize that he didn't actually die). I've also tried to get close to tears at the end of the Post-NWH fic I'm currently working on, but to say more would be spoilers.
Sorry this took so long 😭😭. I always feel bad when I get an ask and then don’t reply for a long time. I hope it was worth the wait. Thank you so much for the ask! And thanks for asking multiple questions that made me feel good.

Your Mistake
Peter Parker {Tom Holland} x f!reader {kinda, more angsty}, Peter Parker {Andrew Garfield} x f!reader
NWH spoilers -> it’s been a long time since I’ve seen this movie so it won’t be super movie accurate and stuff sorry guys
summary - Peter Parker and you used to be best friends, until he left you for a girlfriend. But what happened when another Peter Parker is thrown into the mix?
Warnings: swearing
A/N PLEASE READ : you are in Hollands Spider-Man universe to begin, and Garfield is the other main spider man in this story . also, MJ is a jerk in this series. I love her in the films, but in this series she’s an asshole so just so you know. Reader is not a minor, and Andrew Garfield’s Peter is aged down a bit
“Listen y/n, MJ just isn’t comfortable with you being my friend. She says it’s like you like me or something.” The two of you were at your house playing board games, but he had been getting texts and calls from MJ the entire time. He had been constantly canceling plans with you or just full on ditching you for her for the entire two months they had been dating, but it had been getting extra bad recently.
he was constantly using his secret life as Spider-Man as an excuse to ditch you too, he had told you about him being Spider man soon after it happened because you two trusted each other so much. He would tell you he had patrol duty, but then you would find him with MJ at an ice cream shop, and plenty of other times similar things had happened. “What do you mean? MJ just can’t handle you having a girl best friend. You wouldn’t actually stop being friends with me for her right? We’ve been friends for over 10 years, Peter” you said, almost teasingly, because you knew Peter and you would never stop being friends. You two had been through everything together, you had grown up together, nothing could tear you two apart, right?
wrong.
“Listen y/n, I’m sorry but MJ is my girlfriend and I really don’t want to mess this up. Plus, you have been kind of clingy around me lately.” He said, not meeting your eyes.
“You’re kidding right?” You said, voice shaking slightly and your expression in disbelief
“I wish things could be different, but this is how it has to be right now. you understand, right?” he said to you shit. That really hurt. your best friend of over 10 years, truly the only friend you had ever let get this close to you, was leaving you without hesitation for his girlfriend of two months.
“What the fuck Peter!” You yelled, “no I don’t fucking understand, we’ve been friends for over a decade and you are just throwing that away for some girl you’ve known for two months?” “I really like her y/n! I’m not going to fuck this up just because you like me or some shit!” He yelled at you. “Get the fuck out of my house Peter.” You said, your tone dropping. Rage was dripping from your voice, and Peter had never seen you this angry. “Go be with MJ, I know that’s where you wanted to be today anyways”
“y/n-“ he started, but you cut him off
“I’m done hearing excuses. You’re the one that just ended this friendship, so get out of my house.” You expected more of a fight from him, but he just stood up and walked away. He left, and didn’t even turn back. You went up to your room and watched through the window until you saw his car pulling away. You collapsed against the wall, sobbing. How could he do that to you? You thought that the two of you were going to be best friends forever, and you had even had a crush on him since elementary school, but after he started dating MJ you did everything in your power to suppress it for his happiness. You felt utterly betrayed.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
It had been a two weeks since the incident. He was avoiding you everywhere. In the classes you two had together, you tried to be sat as far away as possible, not talking to you unless absolutely necessary. Anytime you saw him in the halls he was always with MJ and ignored you. This was awful. Peter had always been there for you whenever you needed him, but this time he was the root cause of your overwhelming emotions. You had finally arrived home, exhausted from the mental strain of school. You plopped down on your bed and pulled out the book you had been reading. It was a thriller.
‘She crept towards the corner prepared to fight the creatures at any turn. She fully turned the corner to see-‘
SLAM
Your head snapped up, looking towards the direction the sound came from. It came from the small fire escape balcony just outside your bedroom window. You slowly stood up to get closer, not seeing anything in the window. You slowly approached the window, when suddenly a head popped up and looked at you through it. “AH!!” You screamed. Peter? You were looking at spiderman through the glass. You noticed something off, this couldn’t be Peter. The suit was different. Then who was this person? You were pulled from your thoughts by a knock on the window remembering that the imposter spider man was still there. You carefully opened up the window just wide enough to talk through. “Who are you?” You demanded
“I’m Spider Man, but this isn’t- I’m not from here. Something weird happened.” He tried explaining. His voice was deeper than peters too. “What do you mean you’re not from here? I know you’re not spider man. I know spider man, and you are not him” you said.
“Please you have to help I don’t know what’s going on- I’m Peter Parker-“ you didn’t give him a chance to finish. “You’re Peter- your name is Peter Parker? Prove it.” You said, slightly panicking at this weird parallel. He reached into his spider suit and pulled out a wallet, showing you his id which clearly stated ‘Peter Parker’. “well shit. Come in I guess . . “ you said hesitantly as you opened the window. Not-Peter Peter climbed in awkwardly. “I’m y/n.” You said to break the silence.
“y/n?” He said, gazing up at you. “That was the name of my childhood best friend. She moved away in 3rd grade though.”
“So you’re . . Peter Parker. We have a Peter Parker here too. He is- was my best friend” you corrected yourself quickly. “what happened? Did you move away?” He asked.
“No, he- it doesn’t matter actually.” You said, looking away. “You can tell me” he stated, but your weren’t going to tell him anything. You tried to change the subject
“Now that we are inside, you can take off the mask.” You said, curious if he looked like your Peter. He hesitantly reached up and removed his mask, revealing his face to you.
He only looked to be a year or two older than you, with beautiful brown eyes that left you stunned. His brown hair was slightly disheveled from the mask, but it still looked perfect. You blushed, not looking at his eyes again.
“You should probably change out of that.” You stated, happy to turn away from the attractive man to grab some clothes for him. Peter - Peter had left some of his clothes at your house from sleepovers and game nights. After your falling out he never came back for them. You grabbed a pair of underwear, a shirt, and shorts and handed them to not peter - peter. ”Here, these should work, they were Peter - peters clothes.” You told him
He laughed, “Peter -Peter?” Your face flushed at his comment, slightly embarrassed you had said that out loud. “You can call me . . . I don’t know. We’ll think of something.” “Tel me when I can turn around.” You said, facing the wall. Just a few seconds later he gave you the clear, and you turned around to find him completely shirtless. Your first instinct was to cover your eyes, but then you saw sparks in the corner of your eyes. It was a portal opening, facing directly at Peter. You quickly ran over and pushed the boy out of the portals way, onto your bed. The portal fully opened and you were looking at none other than Ned and MJ. “y/n! You’re not Peter.” Ned said.
“Why would it show us you if we were looking for Peter?” MJ questioned you aggressively. “What even is this?” You said, confused as to what the hell was going on. MJ walker over to the portal, probably looking for her boyfriend. You tried to stop her, telling her he wasn’t here but she looked through anyways only to see Peter. But not her Peter. She saw a man laying half naked on your bed with disheveled hair, looking between her and you.
“Who the fuck is that?”

Multi-Chapter (Peter/MJ)
scars are souvenirs you never lose -- A boy walks into the donut shop the next day. The interaction lasts all of three minutes. And when the door closes behind Peter Parker—when Michelle feels the return of that sharp ache and constant confusion she’s lived with since November—it’s only then that she realizes. She mentions the encounter to Ned, because she's always sharing customer service stories and this is certainly one of the stranger ones. But she keeps her realization to herself—she's not sure how to tell him, not when she barely understands it herself. Because a stranger walked into the donut shop, and for three minutes, her life had made sense. MJ (and Ned) searching for answers in a post-NWH world. Rated T; complete (5/5).
someone out there who can bring me back to you -- Six months ago, Peter Parker was declared killed in action on his way back from his last mission. MJ knows it's a cover up, and nothing's going to stop her from finding out the truth--not time travel, not murder bots, and certainly not the woman MJ knows is responsible for his disappearance: Eleanor Bishop. But 14-year-old Michelle Jones-Watson? Yeah, she might complicate things. An Adam Project AU. Rated M; in progress (4/6).

Michelle would be the first to admit she’s the last person on Earth who should be working a customer service job. It’s not so bad when she’s on espresso machine duty, but on the register she feels about as natural as an alien wearing human skin. Pasting on over-the-top ingratiating smiles. Putting up with bullshit from white Boomers who want free drinks for the stupidest reasons. Biting back scathing responses to all the creepy men trying to get her number--like the one currently standing at the door and staring at her with zero subtlety.
She’d give a kidney to be holed up in her shoebox apartment right now, neck-deep in her Intro to Human Rights textbook. But even with her scholarship, Columbia is expensive as hell. And even retail wages make a dent.
So she puts on her fake smile as Unsubtle Boy finally gets the guts to step up to the register. He’s clearly awkward as hell, so jittery that the last thing he needs is a cup of coffee. It’s almost enough to make her soften just a bit.
“What can I get you?” she asks, before he has a chance to attempt small talk. Or worse, a cringeworthy pick-up line.
“Um, just a latte,” he says. “Vanilla, please.”
“Sure thing.” She grabs a cup, marking up the side.
“Cool necklace,” he says, and Michelle bites back a sigh. It’s not the first time a random dude has commented on her necklace as a prelude to getting in her pants.
“Thanks.” She looks him dead in the eyes, letting a humorless smile stretch across her face. “It’s a black dahlia. ‘Cause of the murder.”
99% of the time, that makes them back off. It’s almost hilarious to watch the gears shifting in their brains, sliding her from “easy target” to “crazy lady.” Because there’s nothing in between, for most guys.
Yet to her surprise, this one doesn’t seem fazed. He just gives her a little smile, and it almost looks melancholy.
“Where’s the other half?” he asks.
That’s a new question, and it almost throws her off guard. Plenty of guys are fond of telling her the necklace is broken, as though she didn’t already know. As though swaggering in full of blustery male ego and telling her something blindingly obvious will overwhelm her with lust.
“I’m...not sure,” she replies. She reaches up to run her index finger along the crystalline flower’s jagged lines. “I’ve had it for as long as I can remember. I guess it broke somewhere along the way.”
He drops his head, looking at the floor. “Must be special, then?”
“Yeah.” The answer springs to her lips without hesitation, though she’s not sure why. She puts the necklace on every day, without thinking. It is strange, now that someone’s brought it up. Who wears a necklace when they don’t even know where it came from?
And yet, leaving the house without it feels...wrong. Like it’s a part of her somehow.
Michelle jerks herself from that line of thinking with a shake of her head. It’s too early in her shift for an existential crisis. She clears her throat.
“Can I get a name?” she asks. “For the drink.”
The sad little smile returns to his face, and he can’t quite meet her eyes. “Peter.”
She writes it down, passes the cup off to the barista, moves on to the next customer. Yet when the drink is done, she feels compelled to snatch it up, pushing it across the pickup counter where the guy stands waiting.
“Here you go,” she says, then adds, feeling unnatural as hell, “have a good afternoon.”
“Yeah, you too.” He picks up the coffee without really looking at it. He licks his lips, shifting his weight from foot to foot, and--oh great, here it comes. She did so well at avoiding the cheesy pickup line, and he’s about to lay it on her after all.
She braces herself, but when he speaks, it’s so quiet she has to lean in to hear.
“I hope you find it.” He swallows. “Someday.”
Michelle blinks. “What?”
He gestures with his latte. “The other half. Of the necklace.”
“Oh.” Weird thing to say, considering the necklace has been broken for years as far as she knows. And yet, there’s something oddly sweet about it. “Thanks...Peter.”
He nods, and she could almost swear there’s a sheen of tears in his eyes as he turns away, walking through the door.
But it’s probably just a trick of the light.

Every single moment between Andrew and Tobey/all three Peters together were done so fantastically well and I've never been more proud.

I just went to see No Way Home for the third time and I really want to talk about another thing I love about the way our two original Peters interacted. Not just with each-other, but with everything. Don’t judge but I ramble a whole lot so just bare with me.
Tobey Peter was out here feeling like a complete character. Like his story was at its close. He has the metaphorical “happy ever after” feel. And it shows with how he acts and speaks.
He’s very calm. Collected in his talking. Still acting like a Peter Parker, but more mature and wise. He knows what he wants to say, when he should say it, and the correct way to say it.
And it’s similar with the way he fights/swings. It’s straightforward. Methodical. He puts purpose into where he shoots a web and tries(tries) to stay focused on the matter at hand. His mannerisms while swinging are very… bland. and I don’t mean that in a bad way. It just no longer has that youthful flare to it anymore. Almost like he’s used to it. Clocking in for the usual work. And I love it. It shows his age as the oldest and “wisest” of the three Spideys.
And then we have Andrew’s Peter.
He’s still the awkward, fidgety, funny guy when he talks and interacts with his surroundings. Never fully standing still. Kind of representing how his story was never fully finished. There’s still so much more out there for his character…
Okay oh my God I have to talk about how he swings and fights I’m going to explode-
His movements when swinging around are much more loose and spontaneous. Showing off more of his lanky-ness and flexibility. He is almost constantly talking and literally having a conversation with everyone and everything while he’s in the middle of punching or being punched and making jokes or making fun of the villians and just genuinely having a good time andwhebsjsjfusksis (like the way he first jumps off the Statue of Liberty to fight for the first time and is like, “hey man nice to see you again. Ho!~” ITS THE LITTLE NOISES HE MAKES WHILE SHOOTING A WEB FOR ME)
It’s just really accurate to the comics. It’s so good. It’s so good.
Ok ok ok ok. Now I shall BRIEFLY compare the way they swing. Because that’s all my brain let’s me think about.
I’ll use the iconic scene of all three Spidermen running and jumping together before the last battle.
Tobey’s Peter jumps head first. Practically nosediving through the air. Stiff, trained movements because he’s focused on the plan and the plan only. Ready to play his part and do the best he can.
Andrew’s Peter spins around as he falls & basically poses for the make-believe camera that’s following him. Not even looking at where he shoots his web or the direction he begins to swing. He’s obviously aware of the plan, he just can’t help but subconsciously add his own amazing flare to it. (I’m not sorry)
Alright. I’m done. I just needed to get this out before my mind split-in-two. Won’t be surprised if I think of something else and then in-turn have to chaotically type it out at 11pm, again.

The Little House on the Prairie: 1.18 Plague
With the sudden intensity of a prairie storm, typhus is unleashed on an unsuspecting Walnut Grove, teaming Charles with Doc Baker and Reverend Alden, who work together to the point of exhaustion tending to the community's sick and dying; but when new victims begin to pour in from the surrounding countryside the desperate men know they must find the source of the plague if they expect to stop the deadly epidemic.
it's got to be the first full episode I saw of The Little House On the Prairie and man it TRAUMATIZED me like everyone is dying and there are rats.

There were a lot of things that hit hard in Spiderman: No Way Home, but what hit me the hardest was Doc Ock telling Tobey!Peter, “You’re all grown up now.”
And when asked how he is, what he’s doing now, Tobey!Peter responds with something along the lines of, “Just trying to be better.”
I grew up watching the Tobey Maguire Spiderman films. They were probably the first films I ever loved. And I think this scene hit hardest because Tobey isn’t the only one all grown up now. We grew up too. And we’re all still trying to be better.

andrew’s spider-man catching mj was kinda like therapy. shitty-ass, second-hand therapy that makes you want to smile and rip out all your hair and kinda die inside, but therapy nonetheless. ty marvel

Dr. Strange casted a new spell "everyone forgets Peter Parker" nearing the end of NWH. So those who were on their way to enter the caster’s (Dr. Strange’s) universe forgot about Peter Parker (Did they also forget the Peter Parker in their universe tho?) that they’re like, “Why are we trying to go to that weird looking cracks again? Nah, let’s just go home”
and those ‘visitors’ who were already in the caster’s (Strange) universe, were sent out immediately.
BUT WHAT IF
instead of returning home to their own universe, they were thrown out to some other random universe, as long as it’s not the caster’s (Strange) universe?
I can see Hardy!Eddie and Venom unfortunately got thrown out to a new universe again (can I hope it to be Andrew!Spidey universe??)  and they be like,
“Are we still in that world..?”  *observes the surrounding and checking up the news*  “No.. I don’t think we’re in that world anymore.. and we’re not in our world either!  Where are we this time??” *insanity level increases*
And if they want to return to their original world, they must find Dr. Strange in the new universe. And notice that in NWH Andrew!Spidey mentioned something about the existing of magic in his universe. So maybe there’s Dr. Strange there too.
