Portrait de Mathilde de Canisy par Jean-Marc Nattier, situé au merveilleux musée Jacquemart-André, à Paris.
Nattier est l'un de mes peintres préférés, j'admire la douceur de ses portraits contrastant avec un ciel souvent noir, atrabilaire... Une métaphore prophétique pour la splendeur du XVIIIe siècle, ses éclats et ses violences.
J'aurais aimé faire le portrait des grandes figures de ce siècle, celles du XIXe également, peut-être.

What I love about looking at old work is seeing how far I've come yet still liking the old work and having appreciation for it.
