Beatrix gets frustrated and hides it away in a drawer forever. If she’s asked about it she pretends that it isn’t hers

Portia is disappointed she can’t solve one but also just enjoys turning a Rubik’s cube because it feels nice

Quincy can solve most of a Rubik’s cube… He’s able to only solve 2/3 and has no idea how to solve the rest - He’s admittedly a little ashamed about it

ive solved a rubiks cube before! (by cheating and using an app. admittedly)

Thinking about how Vambrose as a concept would never work because Ambrose, on a base level, doesn’t respect Vincent and sees him as lesser due to racism and internalized trans/homophobia. This is continued to be paralleled in Quincent, how Quincy makes passive aggressive remarks at Vincent without noticing, even when they know Vincent to be capable. Ambrose and Quincy are foils to one another, show each other’s worst traits, and it is interesting to analyze how their pursuit of perfection makes them treat Vincent in similar ways that rhyme but don’t repeat.

My friend likes fruit. I'll offer him a spare orange I keep on me, and he will jab his thumb into the peel, leaving the flesh a jumbled mess.

My friend doesn't peel oranges the right way. That was his words, his nails were too short cut to cut through the skin, his hands not 'dainty' enough to separate the pieces, he never did like things he couldn't do well.

My friend doesn't like the way the pulp stuck to his hands. I wasn't ever opposed to getting my hands dirty, so I'll peel my orange as best I can, letting the white stringy bits fall off with the exterior, and he'll toss the scraps in the bin.

Since my friend likes fruit, I'll cut the orange in two halves, one for him, one for me --- it's hard for me to give my all for things, though I'm trying to give my all for him.

Even though I cannot do much, I can still peel oranges. The tips of my fingers can worm their way above the flesh without harming the fruit, I can share half of my time, my routine, my life, I can still be the person who peels your oranges.

Beatrix after the pyre scene struggled a lot - Everything that wasn’t relating to the Phaethon, Vincent, or Portia basically felt numb or pointless. And everything that wasn’t Portia made them feel like shit. Worse of all, the school year wasn’t over yet. So the next day they had to just go to their classes like Vincent hadn’t died. And had so many people congratulating them on winning the Phaethon they couldn’t take it. Portia found them in the middle of the day sobbing in the Daily trying to write up who won for the Prize Section. They basically spent the rest of their senior year either around Portia or attending classes and mostly zoning out. The emotions of the Phaeton and Vincent was too much for them at the time - Spending a few months just living with their Abuela as they tried to become mentally stable again.

After the Pyre scene Quincy tried to get through senior year for a week. But every time they attended philosophy class they thought of Vincent. And every day returning back to their dorm knowing he was dead was too much. He basically broke down in his dorm after a week and chose to drop out. They struggled a lot to even consider going back to school because everything reminded them of Vincent. A solid period of time they could barely hold social interactions without starting to cry or having to hold back tears because something made him think of Vincent. Quincy’s aunt had to try for a while to find out what she could actually do to support him. Trying to improve Quincy’s mental health after the Phaethon and Ardess was a long and tedious process.

Quincy and Beatrix get along pretty well, but their relationship is heavily strained because of everything that happened. They mostly bond over their experiences with Vincent and Portia.

Do you guys ever think about the fact that Adamandi takes place in the 1930’s and that thus every living character would have to see World War 2? They cannot catch a break they literally went through all the events of Adamandi during the Great Depression only for an international war to strike just a few years after the graduate. 😭
