kabosu should receive a shrine, like faithful pets hachiko and tama before her. her story brought awareness to the plight of rescue animals in japan, encouraging people to adopt. her meme status abroad caused the shiba inu's international popularity to skyrocket: the world has a newfound adoration for this beautiful, smart, functional breed present throughout millennia of japanese history, in part thanks to her.
perhaps kabosu-sama could be enshrined as a spirit goddess of rescue animals to honor her humble beginnings. or as a good natured trickster spirit as a nod to those feisty-looking photos of her that launched her to fame? or longevity, perhaps pet longevity specifically, due to her extraordinarily long and happy life, dutifully cared for every day until the end as we should for all humans and pets alike.

realized a drawing i'm doing rn is almost identically posed to one i did 8.5 years ago of a different oc, except the old drawing was instantly tainted by one of the players featured messaging me asking if i could take it down because their abusive, possessive rp partner saw it and got jealous of them "roleplaying behind their back" and i said "nah" and it became a whole Thing that i should have walked away from at that exact moment but didn't and the 6 months that followed contained some of the most truly condensed batshit i have ever witnessed in an rp community already well-known for its batshittery.
... anyway i love my friends. so happy to accidentally redeem the pose.
#idk if ill ever open up completely about that shitshow but#i think 8 years is past the statute of limitations to vaguepost about it#late tag addition but man now i'm thinking about it all at 4am#how did in the good goddamn did i witness that and still not only let them make me an officer#but also let them put me functionally in charge of their guild IC#while those two fucked off and erped in instanced zones or played overwatch#and i and my then-rp-partner took the heat for the meandering plotline#until my partner vented to the wrong person about the abuse#and it got back to them#and we got to experience the surreality of an honest to god guild coup#all to salvage the image of some egomaniac abuser#certified fucking wra moment#its been 8 years and thinking about how i was treated in the end makes me feel sick lol#they made a new guild discord and invited everyone but us#and when i noticed the channel had gone quiet i asked what was up#and was met with gaslighting about how i'm 'thinking too much' about the channel being a 'little slow'#and it took pushing to get an early admission of what was about to happen#so we logged on and quit ourselves#which fucked up the narrative they had constructed#and they lied in the new channel that WE were the ones doing a 'coup' and that we stole the members who left with us#i guess i am opening up after all#i had to play the fucking villain of that scenario for the past 8 years#all to protect the mental health of people who hurt me#why#if you were there and know what i'm referencing with all of this... there's the fucking story#the person in question is a massively popular artist#i just dont have it in me to fight that fight

I think everything I want in madoka is in madoka actually, and the other shows have different things I want from them also
#babbles#tired of takes saying “pmmm sucks watch other magical girl shows”#because it fundamentally misunderstands why I watch different mahou shoujo??#genuinely all of those listed shows have different takes and themes and stories and dymanics#and if I understand this post correctly op is saying#fwpc has deep connections between the female characters and spectacular action scenes#sailor moon has a group of female friendships and hope amidst hopelessness and cosmic stakes#and utena has the surreal animation sequences and symbolism#(and all three have queer themes in it)#but like. they all tackle those things differently. and you won't actually get what pmmm offers by watching three separate shows#these shows are not interchangeable. you cannot say they are just because you don't like the most recent (and currently popular) one#anyway what is it with horrible takes about shows I like lately. good lord

I finally watched The Amazing Digital Circus after seeing all the hype about it (and it's STILL no.1 on trending. Wild) and now I have been struck by the curse of theme song stuck on repeat in brain. Help

Tbh I'm a little let down that after last November when I returned to a dash so fucking insufferably ridden with ad hominem attack discourse set up to dodge fandom blacklists that it ruined my desire to talk about games with people, now the notorious DA has really just not shown up the same way. I thought this was supposed to be the most toxic fandom out there and I barely even see opinions. I was ready this time. What happened to all the "every industry evil was uniquely invented by the latest somewhat disappointing popular game." How did everyone preorder it after all the essays last year about the industry rot of preorders. What happened. Did everyone burn out making Tumblr suck so bad last year
#I have no horse in this race but it has felt a little surreal#I lost huge amounts of respect for people in gate discourse that became 'it is immoral and makes you stupid to like flawed popular things'#that game absolutely isn't top tier and has serious flaws but people got beyond nasty about some stuff that was uhhhh stupid#and boiled down to being unable to just dislike things#everyone is allowed to like their popcorn games but I do feel a little :I about it all#rambling#venting#people filled my dash with lore complaints that were factually wrong about two fucking TTRPG systems over last year's Big Game#only to be mildly passive aggressive or aggressive but extremely vague over the lore of the series with fans precious about lore#I'm glad if this means people learned to mind their manners I'm just surprised

So I've been making a conscious effort to Kill The Part Of Me That Cringes for the last couple months (hence: Neopets and suchlike), because I think it's just genuinely good to root unnecessary shame out of your life. I've been having a lot of fun with it.

#frozen#disney’s frozen#disney#walt disney animation studios#10th anniversary#it’s surreal how huge that movie was during 2013-2014#disney hadn’t had a movie become a cultural phenomenon like that since the lion king#it’s nowhere near my top 10 but i’m glad it help make animated disney musicals super popular again#but at the same time i wish the princess and the frog and tangled could have been the movies to do that since they’re much better#but we eventually got moana and encanto out of it so it’s a win-win
