I have been reading Midnight Poppyland on Webtoon all day and I am absolute trash for this recent college grad and her reluctant mobster trauma bomb. I cannot even.

Ok one post then I'm going to sleep

So I made a new helluva boss oc, Kana deRune and I'm just sort of hyperfixating on her right now BC I've been sick as fuck on and off since like April and I'm taking the serotonin where I can.

Tldr she is posing as an incubus and working for Asmodeus as his secretary, personal assistant. Whatever Trixie Mattel and Brandon have going on, that's her and Ozzie.

I'm having some trouble pinning down her origins because when I first made her she was a fever dream Kingsman oc (don't ask...or do I'm not your mom) . Basically the ruins poppy built poppyland on was Kana's temple/burial ground and them building on it work her up from some 500 year depression nap or something (can't remember didn't write it down BC it was cringe and absurd)

So I'd still like her to be fucking ancient, maybe in hell not long after Lucifer takes over. Obviously if she's connected to these ruins she died a long time ago but what I can't decide is how and wether she went up or down when she died. The story I'm toying with is she was maybe sacrificed at a young age and went to heaven but also I don't want to tie sacrifice to one specific culture BC that seems sort of iffy? I guess I could just make one up and say it was such a long time ago the country doesn't even exist anymore...

Anyway she dies, goes to heaven and is sort of manipulated, cajoled or otherwise convinced to become an exorcist. But eventually she works out heaven in the helluverse is filled with wankers and defects to hell after a Purge. Here again, haven't worked out an exact timeline of events. I'd like her to meet Asmodeus when they're both still young so they can be childhood friends, so that although kana isn't a deadly sin, she's very close and familiar to them as a group . If hell is based on a circus and all the sins are circus acts, Kana runs the ticket booth and sticks up the promo fliers. The sins are in charge make no mistake but shits not getting done without people like Kana sorting it.

One of the main problems I'm having is what kind of demon is Kana. She pretends to be an incubus to make her job with Ozzie in the lust ring go soother (because she does look like an imp despite being 9ft tall) but she was human at one point, she's not a hellborn. But she's not a sinner either because she defected to hell, she's not trapped in the pride ring by magic, so what the hell is she? Fallen angel? I don't want to lable her that because it's so far been reserved for Lucifer, kana is not that level of power. I thought maybe with the sacrifice angle I could have her be some sort of guardian spirit, sort of vaugely Japanese folklore esque. She's strong in hell maybe because she gets offerings from humans? I'm mostly spitballing BC no one besides me cares about the lore here and it's not like I NEED to keep it 100% canon compliant, no matter what my cringe reflex says.

Anyways I'm goin to sleep now, maybe tomorrow I'll talk about her friendships with the 7 sins or how Chaz came to be squatting in her appartment or that one time she found striker in a bin

Daphne lives alone in a small one room apartment, not the greatest part of town. Fresh out of college, she landed a job at a local magazine as an editor, but is more like an over glorified intern. Her only family lives about an hour train ride outside of the city in a small village in the countryside, but she hasn’t been back for months after a dramatic breakup with the only man she ever dated. Since her move to the city shortly after she dove into her job, going to move up to a position of worth, though her boss seemed to only find her fitting of the most mediocre of tasks. Proof reading his emails mostly. In her free time she can typically be found in the park sketching the scenery or just going for a stroll. She found solace in nature and an occasional escape from the bustle and noise of living in the city.
