The Phenomenal Visit
By: Manlangit, Nouela P.
Pope Francis’ last mass for his visit here in the Philippines was held at the Quirino Grandstand last Sunday, January 18, 2015. Over 6 million people gathered on the said place with hopes that they will see the Pope with their very own eyes and of course, to hear what he has to say.
Despite of the bad weather, the Filipinos didn’t budge. They stayed there for hours, some even stay for days near Quirino Grandstand just to have a chance to be up-close with the People’s Pope.
The mass ended well and early this morning, Pope Francis bid the Filipinos goodbye as he went on his plane to travel back to Vatican. Filipinos are hoping that Pope Francis will return next year for the 51st International Eucharist Congress that will be held in Cebu

Santo Papa
The storm came, leaving cold and shivering hands.
Yet the people of the land stood firm
braving the cold --
awaiting.
Then the Shepherd came
bringing good news of mercy,
compassion and love.
Bringing all children together in the great kingdom of God.
Viva Il Papa!

Jgh. This is one of the most unforgettable experience as a Catholic ☺ Goosebumps all over my body! It was just a moment but my body and soul was filled with tremendous holiness. My heart just can't contain it anymore :(( It was really overwhelming :( Di ko talaga ineexpect na makakapagcommunion din ako sa mass pero yeah, I was blessed enough. #blessedbythepope #popefrancis2015 #popeinthephilippines. I may not be home. But in spirit I'm there, with my countrymen making sure the Pope have a good visit. This bring back so much memories when I was 7 years old when I saw Pope John Paul II. #telltheworldofhislove

Security in Full Swing!
By: Manlangit, Nouela P.
Pope Francis had been very particular with the security measures that will be applied on his visit here in the Philippines. He doesn’t want to be treated special that he’s popemobile wasn’t even bullet-proofed, but the Government rectified the situation by situating plenty of policemen and even members of the Philippine Navy and Red Cross just to secure the Pope’s safety and health issues.
Fortunately, Pope’s visit ended without him receiving any harm.
Pictures above were taken at Quirino Grandstand and Luneta on January 18, 2015 by Manlangit, Nouela.

The Media Were on Their Places
By: Manlangit, Nouela
Well, who wants to miss a historical event? Media practitioners from different networks were spotted at the Quirino Grandstand to witness the Papal visit and of course to keep the people in their homes updated about the current happenings on the said event. Though it was raining, media practitioners don’t seem to be affected, it shows that it when their duty calls, nothing can stop them and it is very inspiring.
Just like some of them, I was strolling around to take some good shots of the event when a staff of TV5 saw my I.D; with an evident “CAMPUS MEDIA” on it, he and his co-staff then strike a pose so that I can take a picture of them. The experience was so overwhelming that it made me feel like I was really one of them.
