I’ve been going to a lot of concerts recently, sooooooo my favorite redacted boy concert headcannons (this is my favorites. If I get enough requests to do more then I will)
Caelum
His first concert he is a little nervous. So he’ll go with Gavin and freelancer. And he’ll have a great time.
#1 because he’s with his favorite people
#2 all of the happy vibes/ emotions from everybody there will make him feel 10x better
For all the other concerts, though, I can imagine Gavin/his brothers and sisters, taking him to a demons only concert and him having a blast with bracelet trading, making sure everyone’s hydrated.
Overall, having a great time
Milo
Milo only likes concerts if other people are there with him. and he likes to get seats that are really close to the stage even floor if possible.(providing that the venue isn’t just floor) because it’s no secret, it’s tough being a short person at concerts (as a short person I’m speaking from experience)
So yeah, Milo by himself at concerts it’s rough
Milo plus the rest of the pack (David, Asher, Sam plus their mates, etc.) he’ll be having the time of his life
Sam
This poor man…..
Concerts are not his favorite thing….
if it’s for a band that he really liked before his turning, then he’ll stick it out and risk the migraine. but the only time he will willingly go to a concert is if Darlin is going. And even then he hast to wear sunglasses and noise canceling headphones. All of the lights and loud music can be a bit too much for our vamp grandpa (I said what I said)
Asher
I am convinced that this man schedules all of the fun group activities for the pack so you know he’s having a blast at the concert
We’re talking pregaming at his apartment (if necessary)
He’s got the glow sticks, everybody’s getting Murch.
But not only is he Asher the party animal. He’s also Asher talbot beta of the shaw pack
Making sure Everybody is safe, happy and accounted for.
Cuts people off when he has to, helps David make sure everybody is hydrated and fed
Making sure everyone has a safe and awesome time.
Believe me, I would do one for hush, but we don’t know enough about him yet.
David
I’m sorry did you say concert dad
No, I said David Shaw
Are you sure cause I could’ve sworn you said concert dad
As alpha of the pack it is his job to make sure that everyone stays safe and healthy during their activities….
Which is just a fancy way of saying as the dad friend, he must keep his menaces on a short leash
“is your phone charged?”
“do you need anything?”
“buddy system everybody”
“you can’t go to the bathroom alone and take someone with you”
Are phrases that you will hear him repeat throughout the night, and we love him for it
Yes, he’s having a great time but he’s not gonna have a great time until he ensures the safety of everybody else.
Those are all my favorites. Hope you enjoy. Feel free to leave. Suggestions on who I should do next.
Love you have a great day/night

palisade 37 !!!!!!!!!!!!
THEY WEREN’T LYING THAT DIVINE CAN CYCLE
perennial is the time loop and she is in the time loop!!!!! the wheel turns!!!!!!!!! incredible. i love this.
no wonder perennial was moved by figure begging for another chance.
from a structural pov i appreciate that this is explicitly the last chance bc it keeps pressure on the players without having to resort to multiverse stuff. also a well-timed reveal for the tension in the back half of the season.
it frankly explains a lot that picking clem was a three-millionth-year-in-the-time-loop decision
also this only raises MORE questions about what’s going on off in that arm of the galaxy. they’ve worked out time travel????
oh re the intro, “according to the world i’m a hypocrite or drowned” BANGER LINE. also “the truth”/“the worst”… poor gur
other things did happen in this episode that i am also excited about. what were they again. oh right
thisbe the new bearer of integrity!! golden horns!! really racking up crew entanglements with divinity. extremely exciting.
(i do think we are gonna need some new words by the end of the season, or a clear decision against.)
that whole sequence was so compelling—i feel like we rarely see thisbe pursue her desires so directly. her determination to reach out and understand is fascinating. and that integrity chooses people who want to change the world—wondering if this could be a direction for thisbe’s new illusion strats.
and “my head is somewhat heavier but it doesn’t bother me” heavy is the head that wears the crown huh thisbe. excited to see where this goes !
also on engagements with divines, asepsis’s view of its role changing because brnine saw it as “a divine without a community”—sets this down next to palisade discussing his different relationships with different excerpts, “the etiquette you make with one another” (which is a very loving way of looking at it, i think). divines are socially constructed; divinity is contextual. u know.
dre has been fucking killing it as figure this season. that scene with palisade was really good. saying “this feels like a metaphor” about playing duck (lmao) was exceptionally funny because that is always true about figure all of the time
coriiiii…. i am so glad cori is able to trust her crew and find safety questioning her religious upbringing with them.
i do feel like i understand eclectic better now. we’ve gotten a few more flags: he believes in welcoming people who help him; he feels that divines are too much of a risk; he sees the cause as taking over palisade. (it is also kind of touching that he’s so insistent that they adopt a random lock & cross cop, specifically—i found that scene kind of frustrating, but it’s solid character work.)
we also learned this ep that brnine thinks they are the sexiest crew member (they’re right). however this leaves the question of who thisbe thinks is sexiest. assuming it was someone not already present in the scene but aboard the blue channel, that leaves hunting, midnite, or saffron. does thisbe think saffron is sexy?? i would believe that. she has the most physical forms, leaving aside phrygian (who i think murch said she thought was hottest?? wires??), so logically saffron could be attractive to the widest range of people. or thisbe just thinks she’s hot. i’d ship it.

Is the death of coral affect also sea anemones? /Or/ Are the sea anemones changing color (slowly matching the colors of dying coral) when growing older? (/And/ What about urchins?)
As I was happily thinking, having more references for a sea anemone OC with the new appearance of Annie in splatoon 3’s DLC, I couldn’t stop thinking about Annie’s new design.
Mainly, her ‘hair’ color change. The moment I saw her made me ask a LOT of questions. (maybe for no reasons)
Anyway, here is my (hopefully understandable) rambling!!
- First of all, let’s put basic stuff:
like the fact that sea anemones aren’t corals: they aren’t as rigid, since they are invertebrate, (corals have a skeleton!) and thus, soft. But they are still sea animals heavily related corals.
(I’m not an expert AT ALL on this subject, this just scratch the surface, but hopefully this is correct)
Now, in Splatoon:
In the first game, there is a sunken scroll with a “realistically accurate” (from our point of view as human from their past) sea anemone, …
… acknowledging an evolution that was made through time. Similarly, to inkling and octoling, depicted in a “realistically accurate” way that we see throughout the three games.
While, in the announcement of 3’s DLC we saw, well, dead corals everywhere.
(And they obviously didn’t evolve, them not being sea animals like sea anemones.)
- Now the basic stuff is put, let’s talk about Annie:
In Splatoon 1, while her artwork seemed dull in comparison of her render, it’s important to take account of the warm light source in her shop, which in the end made her “hair” as vibrant as the art.
Let’s compare with the matching light source with the render of her new design:
The main color went from a vibrant pink-orange warm color to one waay less vibrant and more cold-ish, the orange in the color is gone. The same goes with the green accent, they can even seem even white. (or transparent at some point?? With less opacity?? but that may be just me)
White like dead corals.
Once again, corals and sea anemones are different as talked before. But they are still related, and it made me ask:
Are sea anemones affected by the source of what is causing coral death? (which some of us theorized to be from a nuclear winter)
- I could have stop there. But Annie isn’t the ONLY sea anemone, enter Harmony:
She wasn’t in any game before 3, the only resources we have from her BEFORE the 3 is an artwork for Chirpy Chips for each of the two first game.
Here they are, with the art and render from splatoon 3:
She went from pale to vibrant, unlike Annie.
If there’s truly coral dying and impacting sea anemones, there wouldn’t be any reason why Harmony isn’t hit as well.
-Putting aside the ‘coral dying impacting sea anemone’ thing, I thought of other possibilities:
Age:
We can easily imagine Annie being way older than Harmony, being a shopkeeper, and online shopkeeper as well.
So, what If their color is fading growing up?
-But it still won’t fully line up with Harmony, which led to the last idea:
Health:
Harmony is known to have issue taking care of her (poor) clownfish, their color indicating neglect.
She may have been neglecting herself prior Splatoon 3. Maybe from overworking herself, or even from her own neglect to her clownfish (since sea anemone and their clownfish have a symbiotic relationship).
(And thinking about their symbiotic relationship, could it be Annie’s clownfish, Moe, dying? Since their lifespan is different and all.)
-Oh, and by the way; what about the urchins?
Nothing.
They aren’t corals, nor as close by family or whatnot to them!! They are closer to mollusks. So, no ‘withering’ like coral!
Of course, it could be simply just a change of style from Annie, and for Harmony, as I said, there’s not much to work with, all of it is thin ice in the end!!
But I still find it odd the change made for Annie, no other NPC had any change similar like that (change of color, not like Spyke and Murch who had simply grown) but, maybe, in the end, she simply grown old as well!
Pheww, anyway, that’s it!! Thank you for reading this theory/headcanon thingy!! Hope it’ll give ideas or watnot for headcanon or OCs!!!
(also I don’t know if anyone already talked about this before, but here u go!)
(Also, I’m pretty unexperienced using Tumblr, so I apologize if I do something clumsily !!)
#not art#I have no idea if this makes sense??#still thx for reading!!!!#why is my second post here a theory/headcanon about sea anemone from a game…..#splatoon#splatoon 3#splatoon 3 DLC#splatoon headcanon#splatoon lore#splatoon 3 theory#annie splatoon#harmony splatoon

might've just missed em if you've posted abt them, but do you have any splat ocs?
Hmm if i did i don't remember posting about them, but currently i have 3 main ones! Maybe one day I'll post more info on them if u guys would like to see it ;;
Click to read about them!
The one that's on my comm carrd is Claude, he's an archeologist who Looves vintage stuff and refuses to accept anything modern (He's only 23 years old). He totally acts like a movie femme fatale if she was a man... Very dishonest and secretive
This poor guy without even a fully fledged piece is Rendo, an illegal gear seller who's direct competition to Murch. He acts like your typical delinquent that sells you something for way more than it's worth, and he doesn't have any friends. (Annoying as hell) He has multiple sisters who he ADORES and only is in the gear business for. He has a secret cosplay hobby where he dresses up on cutesy clothing, that's why he's so skilled with clothing modification
And this is juve. He should die.

Jude Law and Matt Damon in The Talented Mr. Ripley (Anthony Minghella, 1999)
Cast: Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law, Cate Blanchett, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jack Davenport, James Rebhorn, Sergio Rubini, Philip Baker Hall, Celia Weston. Screenplay: Anthony Minghella, based on a novel by Patricia Highsmith. Cinematography: John Seale. Production design: Roy Walker. Film editing: Walter Murch. Music: Gabriel Yared.
This second film version of Patricia Highsmith’s novel The Talented Mr. Ripley suffers from a miscast lead and an over-detailed screenplay. That it suffers by comparison to the earlier version, René Clément's Purple Noon (1960), is only incidental – comparisons, as people have been saying since the 15th century or longer, are odious. More to the point is that Matt Damon was, at this point in his career, not up to the role of Highsmith’s charming demon, Tom Ripley. Damon has since become a major star and a very good actor, but The Talented Mr. Ripley appeared only two years after his breakthrough role in Gus Van Sant's Good Will Hunting – a part tailor-made for the young Damon, and not just because he co-wrote the Oscar-winning screenplay. Still in his twenties when he played Tom Ripley, Damon hadn’t quite grown into his face: He seems all teeth and youthful mannerisms, not at all the kind of person to attract the friendship of a Dickie Greenleaf (Jude Law). His transformation from the poor but upwardly mobile Ripley to masquerading as the wealthy, cosmopolitan Greenleaf feels spurred by the urgency of the moment and not by any innate corruption of the soul, which should be the essence of Ripley. Damon’s Ripley could never grow into the killer con-artist that carried Highsmith’s books into four sequels. But again with the comparisons: Damon is following in the footsteps of Alain Delon, whose spectacularly handsome Ripley in Purple Noon is the embodiment of Shakespeare’s dictum that “sweetest things turn sourest by their deeds.” It also doesn’t help that Damon’s Ripley is matched with Law’s Dickie. I’m not the only one who has wished that Law had been cast as Ripley instead. Even Leonardo DiCaprio, originally sought for the role, might have made a more convincing Ripley than Damon. But the fault also lies in Anthony Minghella’s screenplay, which stretches and pads the story into a 139-minute run time, giving us more of Ripley’s backstory – how he met Dickie’s father and got the commission to bring Dickie home, and how he first pretended to be Dickie when he met Meredith Logue (Cate Blanchett) on the trip to Europe – than is absolutely necessary. Again, Purple Noon began in medias res, with Ripley out sailing with Greenleaf and Marge, and the backstory only gradually emerged. Minghella has fallen into a common error of American filmmakers: the desire to explain too much to the audience. The Talented Mr. Ripley is a handsome film, and there are some fine performances: Seeing Philip Seymour Hoffman in movies always gives me a pang of loss, and his Freddie Miles is a superbly snotty, wicked creation. It’s the one point in the movie when we actually root for Ripley to kill someone. Blanchett’s Meredith is a small role, but Blanchett makes us wish there were more of it. And I think I prefer the ending of Minghella’s film to that of Purple Noon. Both leave Ripley on the brink of being found out, but Minghella gives us a better tease: His Ripley faces a dilemma he has resolved before, that of disposing of a body.

February 8, 2021: The English Patient (Review)
Coming up to reviewing this film, the following question arose: did this movie deserve 9 Academy Awards?
Some of them, I think for sure. As a taste, here’s what the film won:
Best Picture (ooooh, Fargo, though...)
Best Supporting Actress for Juliette Binoche (deserved, I think)
Best Art Direction (...yeah, Romeo + Juliet. ‘Nuff said)
Best Cinematography (I dunno, Evita and Fargo are good...but maybe.)
Best Costume Design (Hamlet ain’t bad, though...just saying.)
Best Director (mmmmmmmmFARGOTHO)
Best Film Editing (MMMMMMMFARGOTHOOOO)
Best Original Dramatic Score (yeah, deserved)
Best Sound (...wait, Twister was nominated for an Oscar? TWISTER).
THIS TWISTER?
...Oh, right! This analysis doesn’t actually mean anything! Why? BECAUSE THE OSCARS ARE NOT A BASTION OF FILM QUALITY HOLY SHIT.
Let’s just get into my opinionated Review, huh?
Review
Cast and Acting: 8/10
OK, here’s the real truth. Ralph Fiennes is a great actor, and plays a great character both pre-and-post burns. Honestly, he’s fantastic in this role...except for being a bit unpredictably emotional. He doesn’t really convincingly show his hidden emotions towards Katherine in any way, making it a huge surprise once that’s revealed. As for Kristin Scott Thomas, it’s a bit smoother for her. However, she’s also not the most memorable character, despite being a very good actress. And the chemistry of the two together...well, it spikes SIGNIFICANTLY when they’re in the throes of passion, which is one of the reasons I think this film was as popular as it was. Well, to each his own; I chose my path. But here’s the thing...they were both nominated for Best Actor and Actress, and lost. And I know that I JUST SAID that the Oscars don’t matter...
...but the fact that Juliette Binoche won for best Supporting Actress, I think, is entirely not surprising. Because Hana is the best character in the film. And while there are some other actors that steal the show, I knew from the beginning. Binoche was the best...the best...finish it....FINISH IIIIIIIT
...OH, RIGHT! Why in the ever-loving hell was Willem “Green Goblin” Dafoe not considered for Best Supporting Actor? Not saying he should’ve won, but he deserved a nomination at least! Had one of the most memorable and gripping scenes in the movie, and I think his snub was unfair here. So, yeah, poor Willem definitely deserves some high points here, too.
Plot and Writing: 9/10
Anthony Minghella, the director of this movie, adapted it from a book by Michael Ondaatie, and did a good job! The plot, while broken up by flashbacks, is good! It might be a little too broken up at times, for my taste, but it’s not to obtuse to follow. And so, high score for this one.
Directing and Cinematography: 8/10
Anthony Minghella and John Seale handle those respective categories well...but I don’t know if it was Best Director worthy. I dunno, it was great, but it wasn’t amazing for me. Same with the Cinematography, which is leading me to give this the score I gave it. Not many major nitpicks, but no gigantic accolades either.
Production and Art Design: 8/10
Same goes for the Production and Art Design, which should’ve lost to Romeo + Juliet, let’s be honest here. Garish as that movie might be, it’s diverse and iconic in appearance, while this movie...looks like a WWII film set in Italy and Egypt. Nothing wrong with that, and the film does that VERY well, but...it’s not R + J iconic, sorry.
Music and Editing: 9/10
And finally, Gabriel Yared’s score and Walter Murch’s editing is...pretty solid, all around. Music’s a great score, and some of the editing here is top-notch. I wouldn’t necessarily get this for my playlist, but it’s still a fantastic score. Honestly, though, the extra points come from the fantastic editing, which somehow maes the flashbacks less jarring when compared to the modern day.
84%! Award-winner for a reason, but...9?
Well, unsurprisingly, it’s a pretty high score. And yet, not my favorite. Probably also doesn’t help that this is a LONG-ASS movie as well. How about, for the next one, we still go historical, but go shorter? Or maybe...do I go longer...

The Venus flytrap (Dionaea muscipula) is a carnivorous plant native to subtropical wetlands on the East Coast of the United States in North and South Carolina. It catches its prey—chiefly insects and arachnids—with a trapping structure formed by the terminal portion of each of the plant's leaves, which is triggered by tiny hairs on their inner surfaces.
If the trigger hairs are stimulated by prey twice in a short amount of time, the trap will snap shut. If the prey is unable to escape, it will continue to stimulate the inner surface of the lobes, and this causes a further growth response that forces the edges of the lobes together, eventually sealing the trap hermetically and forming a "stomach" in which digestion occurs.
Enzymes slowly digest the prey in about ten days, after which the prey is reduced to a husk of chitin. The trap then reopens, and is ready for reuse.
Carnivorous traps were naturally selected in evolution to allow them to compensate for the nutrient deficiencies in the soil of their harsh environments. In the case of Venus flytraps, the bogs and wet savannahs they grow in are nitrogen- and phosphorous-poor.

The Cabinet of Dr. Ramirez (Peter Sellars, 1991)
Peter Sellars, a theatre director who worked with Jean-Luc Godard on King Lear, made a dialogue free not really remake of Caligari, starring Peter Gallagher, Joan Cusack, and Mikhail Baryshnikov that’s pretty interesting and on youtube. It’s unfortunate that at the moment it’s only available in poor VHS rip quality because it’s got cinematography by David Watkins and sound design by Walter Murch.

Dumb/funny headcanon... I guess. Anyway, when Murch was younger, Spyke would carry or hold him when necessary. Now that Murch is older, he's gotten a bit heavier, and tries to get Spyke to carry him again. He'll literally jump into his arms like: Spyke, I'm still smol! 😢 And Spyke just struggles. The poor guy.

Sound is more important than pictures in documentary
My encounters with documentary film- besides David Attenborough at 3am definitely sleep deprived- has been brief before my time in this course. I would love to say that after this course and during its duration I have spent a lot of my time broadening my documentary film index, but managed to lose all interest I ever really had in them. This is not to say that my horizons haven’t been broadened, but in fact, my lack of passion for documentary filmmaking has made viewing documentaries easier. In my time of ignorance and even throughout this trimester exploring documentaries and their modes, I’ve always found imagery to be the most hard hitting factor in any film experienced. That isn’t to say I didn’t appreciate or notice the audio mixing, and can say I wouldn’t cry for the Barnacle Gosling chicks that fling themselves off cliffs in Attenborough’s 2014, ‘Life Story’ without the tragic music and perfectly placed silence as wind swallows the on set mic and the viewers speakers. The pauses in calming instrumental soundtrack into the animals habitats moments before tragedy, grant me a moment to get my emotions ready and to hold my breath. I have found genuine physical effects from audio on film- documentary or not- whether it be a queue to hold my breath or dig my toes into the ground when the beat kicks in. But, I have also had viewing clouded, as a broke kid with a broken tv remote, subtitles were a forced norm, which lead me to notice the way sound is described for the hearing impaired from a young age. This connection to subtitles and slowly viewing films on mute in my later years as a form of background entertainment, lead me- someone who suffers from sensory overload- to not view sound design as something that was important to my viewing experience.
This initial, mainly ignorant opinion doesn’t discredit the emotional aspect sound brings to a documentary. In documentary films there’s imagery and evidence to lead us on the path of understanding subject matter and evidence, but sound tells viewers how to feel about the knowledge just gained. Sound helps immerse viewers in their environment, so poor sound design leads to jarring viewing and audiences lose the story once they have to start forcing themselves into the story because the audio is pulling them out. 2015, Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief contained a score and sound design so chilling that it was impossible to leave the stories told without feeling extra uncomfortable by the audio. As certain haunting secrets are revealed about the church and its practices, pitched audio cuts in and out, building intensity as more and more gets revealed, and they even overwhelm the viewer by cutting together a collection of haunting notes, pitch changed, accompanied by equally haunting flashing imagery between interview and archive footage. 2005 documentary ‘Michael Palin & the Mystery of Hammershøi’ is an emotive soundtrack leading their audiences to view art and a journey of discovery as light and beautiful, just as the soundtrack hints at. In fact, for vision impaired audiences, sound design is incredibly important to their experience. Whilst listening to the scene descriptions and imagining the story, they also now have sound queues to tell them when to feel when they cannot share the onscreen trauma with other viewers.
However, despite and incredibly fun and beautiful soundtrack with high popularity on Spotify, Dinesh D’ Souza’s America: Imagine The World Without Her, it still fails to overcome poor filmmaking. Viewers couldn’t connect or empathise despite dramatic audio emotional queues, because the storytelling was so poor on its inception. Getting carried away with this blog post and the concept of sound and how much it adds to a story, I did a short read of David Mamet’s ‘On Directing’, just over 100 pages of filmmaking knowledge gained over time. In this book Mamet highlights Eisenstein's juxtaposition theories, where imagery is what drives the story forward. He also warns about “infliction”, essentially a belief he has that dialogue and sound design have place of low use and get used too often for the sake of adding it in. In fact, in ‘Walter Murch and the art of film editing', Murch also reveals how his first few edits he finds the films beats and rhythm through visuals, not sound- even cutting sound out all together as he goes through the first portion of his creative process.
Despite all the documentaries with raving reviews accompanied by just as incredible scores, like any film, some form of a story and narrative tells all standing alone as imagery and dialogue, soundtrack and design merely has the ability to assist their audience into tapping into their emotions on queue. As filmmakers, our job is to relay stories to the public for them to relate, hate, laugh or cry to, and we do this by combining as many elements of human senses possible in order to help the audience do this, which includes sound as much as it does imagery. However, it has to be acknowledged not every consumer is the ‘average’ viewer, and whether it be sensory issues, hearing impairments or other, that’s a huge portion of the general public who have their viewing hindered by overly sensational audio, or have to miss components of the story because it’s ‘hidden in the sound design’. When making documentaries- a platform used to inform and persuade on important topics- to hide essential story or emotional driving points in the sound design and give only a portion of the public the ability to understand an informative piece edges over into ableist values. Whether thinking certain people are worthy of understanding your story or simply not putting them into the picture to begin with, is an injustice to the art form of film.
