i’m actually doing a grey’s rewatch with my mom rn and i can agree with my perspective of george changing some. there are still a lot of things i like about him like i loved his relationship with burke, i loved his snarkiness and how it meshes with anxious, self-deprecating humor. and obviously just his empathy and super competent moments. but so many other things annoy me now. like his whole crush on meredith is soooo annoying because somehow i forgot how long he was pining for her?? he saw how in love with derek she was and just kept being whiny about her not noticing him. and it was kind of shitty that the group’s immediate reaction was to fault meredith for “picking with the weaker kid” when george took advantage of her being emotionally screwed up + knowing that she uses sex as coping mechanism when she’s sad. but honestly i feel like that’s also a causality of the show being written when it was. but my biggest gripe with george so far (we’re in s3) is how shitty he treats callie. like he meets her fresh after the situation with meredith and blows her off bc of it. then he lets meredith and izzy talk about her and, constantly blows her off for them, played in her face when she told him she loved him. etc. like it’s wild how it’s all poor george this, poor george that, but as soon as he gets a little power over someone (usually a love interest) i feel like he acts just as selfishly and mean as all the other interns. like doesn’t he also do the same with lexie as soon as he passes the intern exam? and all of this doesn’t make me hate him as character, it just feels a bit different that what he’s supposed to be.

Yeah, for sure, a lot of things about early seasons Grey's are very 2000s. Even Meredith and Derek being a thing would probably be written differently now or would at least be subject to some social media backlash but when you actually think of the George and Meredith situation, it's pretty insidious. It goes beyond "oh well, you know, the 2000s" I think.

George knew, he knew that she didn't feel that way about him, slept with her anyway and then gets mad when it's disastrous but Meredith was having a full out breakdown, she was sobbing hysterically and his embarrassment is what's centered rather than the fact that Meredith was in a very low place emotionally and, as if that isn't enough, he freezes her out, he also punishes Izzie for what happened because he was mad that she "let" him pine after her, he let's everyone give Meredith a hard time for that night and then after weeks of guilting her, is like so my bad, I kind of took advantage of you. That is fucked up.

Grey’s Anatomy Season -5 episode 6

This was such a great episode!!! 👍😀

*spoiler alert*

1. My favorite part of the episode was the ending sequence - with all the people Meredith had lost in her life- George, Lexie, Ellis, Mark, Doc the dog and last but not least Derek appearing, and the Spanish version of Chasing Cars playing in the background. That was so beautiful but heartbreaking 😭💔❤️ I miss all these characters, especially Lexie!! 😍Meredith has indeed lost so much in her life. She is so accustomed to losing people in her life that when Richard tells her about Tatcher being seriously ill and having only a few more weeks to live, she didn’t know how to react and was stoic instead. I don’t blame her as she had never been close to Tatcher- he abandoned her from childhood ,and she never heard from him after Lexie’s death. I would have reacted the same way if I hear similar news about my biological father. Meredith finally decided to go to Alex and Jo’s loft to have some fun instead- which I do support. Why should she mourn someone who has never really been part of her life? Also, I am starting to ship Link and Meredith together ;) Which leads me to the second point..

2. Link seems like such a cool guy! He’s a great addition to the show 👍😊I love how he dealt with his young Ortho patient and the little boy’s mother. I love how he managed to placate the boy’s mother by telling her that he had the same bone tumor before and he turned out fine. :) He’s such a natural with kids, I think he’ll be great with Meredith’s kids if they ever end up together. 👍

3. Levi and Nico- I still ship them together. That kiss in the elevator was hot! 🔥 I hope that they can rectify the misunderstanding between them. 🤞

4. Jackson and Maggie- I’m glad that Jackson is feeling sorry for the way he just disappeared and is treating Maggie well and bringing her lunch. I also understand that Maggie is feeling sad on this day as she remembers her mom. I’m also glad that Jackson is giving her space but telling her that he is there for her. 👍

5. I love the little Latina girl Flora ❤️ She’s so cute , having a crush on DeLuca ( who doesn’t?) I love her family too and how through her family we get to see a little of their tradition of celebrating the dead. ( I first learnt about this tradition in Coco, a movie I loved ❤️).

6. I love seeing Bailey and Jo work together 👍👌They kick ass together!! 💪💪 I love how they were willing to break protocols and perform the amazing feat of bring the patient’s liver back to life. I also love how they ignored Alex’s directive of shutting down the machine sustaining the liver and didn’t give up on getting their patient Roberta the liver 👍💪 I am so happy for Roberta:) I loved that Alex got turned on by Jo’s stubbornness and persistence in the end 👍Jolex are endgame! 😊

7. Teddy- poor Teddy. She thought she was finally ready to tell Owen about the fact that she’s pregnant with his baby, but got interrupted in the end. She saw how Owen and Amelia are finally committed to raising Leo and Betty together as a family and she realizes that the bombshell she’s going to drop on them would disrupt the happy family. However she has to tell him sooner or later. I have a feeling that she finally tells Owen at the mid season finale and his reaction would be the cliffhanger. I also want to see Amelia’s reaction to the news. Caterina’s acting in the scene when Amelia was letting out her frustrations about Betty missing was phenomenal 👍💪

The Worst Thing Each Main Character From Grey's Anatomy Has Done

The characters in Grey's Anatomy never fail to be complex, interesting, intriguing, and multidimensional. The show has always had a talent for portraying realistic characters, and it has a signature knack for making the viewers feel as though they are getting an exclusive look inside the lives of real people.

To achieve this genuineness and develop them successfully, the cast of Grey's characters had to be more than just one thing. Meredith is not purely good, Alex is not just an ass, and Maggie is not just a brilliant nerd.

The characters on Grey's have done some truly questionable stuff throughout the course of the series. From bad bedside manner to unprofessionalism, to infidelity, these characters are nothing if not realistic. Let's explore the worst thing that each main character has done.

10 RICHARD: CHEATING ON ADELE

Richard's medical career has been extensive, so he's obviously done some questionable things during his time as a surgeon. But nothing quite beats his infidelity and betrayal of his long-time wife, Adele. The early seasons of Grey's largely revolved around the love affair between Richard and Ellis that had occurred once upon a time.

Later, Richard's affair would prove to have lasting repercussions, and no matter how far the character has come and how well-developed he is, it's hard to forgive his poor treatment of Adele.

9 JACKSON: HIS TREATMENT OF APRIL

Jackson is possibly one of the most infuriating characters on Grey's Anatomy right now. He's made a lot of poor decisions, and he's done several selfish things. He has an ambiguous moral compass when it comes to his relationships and treatment of others, but his dynamic with April takes the cake for this one.

At times, Jackson and April were simply adorable together, but that doesn't change the fact that Jackson behaved like a jerk for the better part of their relationship. From kicking her out to jerking her around, to pretty much bullying her, Jackson did some pretty terrible things to his ex-wife.

8 BAILEY: HIRING ELIZA MINNICK

The storyline involving Eliza Minnick dragged on a lot longer than it probably should have. This created some pretty notable drama in the halls of Grey Sloan, and it also presented a rift between Bailey and Richard. These two have one of the most beautiful relationships on the show, so seeing them at odds was pretty disheartening.

Dr. Bailey probably has the cleanest conscience out of anyone on Grey's. Nevertheless, this one's on her. Hiring Minnick to replace Richard was just blatantly disrespectful, especially considering that Richard had been Bailey's friend and mentor for decades.

7 DELUCA: HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH MAGGIE

Maggie's had a pretty bad track record when it comes to relationships, but none of the problems have really been her fault. The fling with Deluca was fairly cringeworthy and several fellow doctors - including Meredith, who would later end up dating Deluca - frowned on it.

No matter how wrong the relationship was, nothing excuses how Deluca treated Maggie. He was threatened by her and therefore was completely disrespectful toward her.

6 JO: HIDING HER LIFE FROM ALEX

The drama that went on in Alex and Jo's relationship has seemingly gone by the wayside now, but when it was at its peak, Grey's wasted no time dragging it out for all it was worth. The couple went through a significant on-again-off-again phase, and this was mostly due to the fact that Jo had not been honest about her past.

None of this is actually her fault, though, as she'd had a terrible upbringing and had struggled and fought constantly. But she probably should have been a little more truthful with Alex, a little earlier.

5 ALEX: THE WAY HE TREATED GEORGE

Alex Karev's behavior in the early seasons of Grey's, compared to his behavior now, is a great example of how beautiful his evolution was. Going from the pompous ass of an intern to the sweet, gentle pediatric attending is nothing short of an admiral thing.

But before Alex became the Alex we know now, he did his fair share of questionable things. Singling out George and mercilessly bullying him, for example, was needless and unfair.

4 MAGGIE: HER CRUSH ON NATHAN RIGGS

Maggie has not done a lot of bad things during her time on Grey's. She's is normally known for being morally correct and kind. Most of her bad decisions normally stem from poor judgment rather than any kind of malicious intent.

Her crush on Nathan, for example, was a poorly executed storyline from the beginning. Maggie is not the kind of person who falls all over a guy, so the portrayal of her when she had the hots for Riggs just did not feel genuine.

3 OWEN: BOTH OF HIS MARRIAGES

Owen has done some questionable, reckless, and just completely stupid things during his time on the show. He is not the mysterious, misunderstood trauma surgeon that Grey's introduced in season 4; he's now become something of a vague shadow of his former self.

Owen's done some selfish stuff, but his ultimate peak of selfishness was definitely his marriage to Cristina. And his marriage to Amelia. Both of these relationships paralleled each other to a ridiculous extent, and both time Owen destroys the marriages with infidelity and pressuring his wives to have kids.

2 AMELIA: RECKLESS BEHAVIOR

Amelia is often portrayed as being impulsive and absurdly immature. She was the youngest Shepherd sibling, often shown obvious favoritism - particularly by Derek. Due to her upbringing, Amelia was used to her reckless behavior being excused.

But this carried into adulthood, and the next thing you knew, she was performing life-or-death surgeries with a giant tumor pressing on her brain.

1 MEREDITH: REJECTING PEOPLE

One of Meredith's most prevalent issues is her constant rejection of those who try to get close to her. Whether that's family members, Derek's family, or new relationships, Meredith remains guarded to the point of harmfulness.

This was damaging to her relationship with her own sister, Lexie, for quite some time. It also prevented her from calling Derek's family to notify them of his major injuries when he was put on life support.

Eliza sat in Alexanders empty office. She had gotten the letter he had written... it was his last.

My very dear Eliza,

This letter will not be delivered to you unless I shall first have terminated my earthly career to begin a happy immortality. I'd need not to tell you of the pangs I feel from the idea of guilting you and exposing you to the anguish which I know you would feel. Nor could I dwell on the topic lest it should unman me. Fly to the bosom of your God and be comforted. With my last idea; I shall cherish the sweet hope of meeting you in a better world. Adieu, Best of wives and best of woman.

She sat and thought about all the hell he had put her through, then all the good times they had. But the bad times overcame the good ones.

'Why should I play this game of pretend' She sings lightly as she brushes her fingers across the letter. 'Remembering through a second hand sorrow' She slides her hand across the letters face.

'Such a great guy and wonderful friend' She smirks pitifully. 'Oh don't the tears just pour' She crushed the letter in her hands. She throws it to the ground and walks to her room and past the kids rooms, poor things. 'I could curl up and hide in my room' She opens the door, then leans against it once she closes it. 'There in my bed still sobbing tomorrow' She slumps onto her bed, closing her eyes.

'I could give into all of the gloom' She said sitting up looking at their wedding picture that was sitting on their bed side table. 'But tell me' She stood and walked to the picture, hovering over the table. 'Tell me what for' She picked it up in her hands.

'Why should I have a heavy heart? Why should I start to break in pieces?' She held onto the frame spinning around her bed to get to the other side. Her night gown fanned around.

'Why should I go and fall apart for you?' She stares at the picture and how happy she was. 'Why... should I play the grieving girl and Lie... saying that I miss you and that my world has gone dark without your light...' She said with tears in her eyes, feeling of betrayal in her chest. She sat on the bed still holding the picture. She opens the drawer in the bedside table. 'I will sing no requiem' She places the picture in the drawer. 'Tonight' She closes it.

Meanwhile at the Washington Estate...

He had just gotten word of Hamiltons death. He didn't know how to feel. Hamilton has done some unforgivable things to the ones he loved and held close. Did he deserve his pity? Did he deserve to be mourned? Should Washington tell his story? He sat in his at home office, thinking of what to do. 'I gave you to world, you threw it away' He sang as the midnight oil burned on his desk. He found the letter Alexander had sent to him, proposing that he join the revolution.

'Leaving these broken pieces behind you' Alexander left a lot of people in a bad place and had left his family behind and with much debt. The irony of that is remarkable. (If Hamiltons in debt, why should Eliza bear it- in sorry I had too but I ruined the moment so ignore that ~ Lexi)

'Everything wasted, nothing to say' He said as he looked out the window at the sun rising. 'So I can sing no requiem'

Then Angelica...

She was sad he had passed. But she was stronger than this... why did she feel weak? He had done her dearest sister so wrong and had done the unimaginable to the world around him.

'I hear your voice I feel you near' She sang as she felt his spirit coming back to her. This gave her chills. She sat on the edge of her bed with John {Church Hill} sleeping soundly in the other side.

'Within these words I finally find you' She scans the letters they had exchanged for a while. She a tear escape her eyes.

'And now that I know that you are still here' She holds up the letter to her eye level. She then shakes her head and crushed the letter in her palm. 'I will sing no requiem' She said, her eyes shut and tears leaking out the sides.

Eliza had tears going down her face involuntary. She did not feel sad but she cried anyway. 'Why should I have a heavy heart' Washington stood singing lightly looking out the window.

'Why should I say I'll keep you with me?' Eliza goes down the stairs to his office again.

Angelica cries lightly as she stares at the letters. She use to love him. Part of her still does a bit. She wonders if her sister is just as maybe even more sad.

'Why should I fall apart for you' Eliza opens the office door and enters.

'Why...should I play the grieving girl and Lie... saying that I miss you' She rushed over to the letters that she had placed on his desk. Tears streamed down her cheeks.

'And that My world has gone dark without your light' Washington shed a tear. Eliza grabbed the letter violently earning a small paper cut on her palm.

'I see your light' Angelica covers her eyes from seeing a spirit of Alexander in front of her. She was imagining him there. He had a bullet wound in his chest. Which only made her chest hurt more.

'I will sing no requiem... tonight' She closed her eyes and held the letters tightly in her hands.

She stood holding the letters tight, wrinkling them. 'Cause when the villains fall... The kingdom never weeps' She twirls a bit with the letters.

'No one lights a candle to remember' She holds an oil candle he had left lit before he left. She blew it out. Like the flame, his flame or spark had been put out.

'No... No one mourns at all... When they lay them down to sleep' She opens the window.

'So don't tell me that I didn't have it right' She sat in Alexanders chair he had written his many essays in. 'Don't tell me that it wasn't black and white' She leaned back in it closing her eyes as tears slipped out.

'After all you put me through... don't say it wasn't true... that you were not the monster' She sang aloud passionately, waking the kids. James and William came in holding Alex and John. 'That I knew' She sang softly only for her to hear.

She lead them all to the living room and sat on the couch with them. 'Cause I...' She pushed Johns long curly hair back out of his face. 'Cannot play the grieving girl and Lie...' She put her arms around the boys. 'Saying that I miss you and that my world has gone dark' She chokes out again letting a single tear fall. John wiped it from her cheek and smiled lightly.

Martha came into George's office and hugged him good morning. 'I will sing no Requiem' He sings softly and hugs back.

Angelica takes a deep breath and undoes he hands from her face. She sees no Alexander in front of her anymore. 'I will sing no requiem' She sighs. John {Church Hill} heard her crying. He sat up and hugged her from behind. That only made her cry more. She held onto his arms that were around her.

'Ma? Where is pops?' William asks. She softly smiles for him 'I will sing no Requiem' She kisses his head softly and hugs them all...

'Tonight'...
