I love how insistant Johnny is on blood magic ALWAYS being evil and vile and bad with no exceptions. I think it makes him a stronger, more compelling character. And it's just amplified by having Neil be so deeply entrenched in blood magic (as Johnny calls it).

I love the rift that forms between them because of it. I love that Neil's fears of being perceived differently come to fruition because of Johnny. The resulting inter-party dynamics are so good. I have no doubt I have much more to look forward to in this aspect.

BUT Johnny is particularly hard on Neil during the reunion, and Neil is so cowed. There just seems to be zero understanding or willingness to understand why Neil pursued that path, especially with the khalif even in that particular moment. And Neil's response of "I just didn't want to be there anymore" does nothing to change Johnny's mind or heart, even though Neil is literally talking about his own execution!!!

It's such a callous moment from Johnny. Still, minutes later he's crying because he missed Neil too (even with the blood magic).

I love the whole interaction!!

Edit: I realize you could say that Johnny didn't believe it was Neil but this is after the questioning from Wynn.
