Nisa:
**exert from their website
Nisa is an underwear label and social enterprise, employing women from refugee backgrounds in our Wellington studio. For the Nisa team, a job is about so much more than a pay cheque - it's about making friends, practising English and feeling like a valued member of a team. Our dream is to build an alumni of 100 former employees who go on to inspire their own communities. For us, success is not just providing a first job in New Zealand, but in providing a first step in a long career.Established work places/businesses which utilise the opportunities and experiences that former refugees can positively impact work environments.

Pomegranate Kitchen:
**exert from their website
Pomegranate Kitchen provides opportunities for training and employment to people from a refugee background now living in the Wellington region.
Pomegranate Kitchen is a not-for-profit social enterprise with strong values at the heart of the food they serve. Founded in June 2016 by Rebecca and Ange, the business combines a love of food with the desire to increase the job opportunities available to people with refugee backgrounds resettling in New Zealand.
With a number of group catering options, Wellingtonians can discover off-the-beaten-path cuisines and new flavours from around the world. Sharing fresh and authentic food is Pomegranate Kitchen’s way of making sure the city of Wellington is a welcoming new home, and recognising the rich contribution former refugees make to New Zealand society.
What problem are they trying to solve?
Pomegranate Kitchen aims to reduce the barriers for Wellingtonians who come from refugee backgrounds, into employment, social integration, and settlement in NZ. Finding work is one of the most challenging aspects of resettling in a new country. Language barriers and the lack of local experience or references means it can be tough for former refugees to find the right training or job opportunities.
