Fat tip number 5 (pt 2): what type of fat should I eat?
Although there are many types of fat in foods such as: saturated fats, trans fat, mono saturated fat, polyunsaturated fat, and omega-3. The most important of the fats that we will be learning about are trans fat, saturated fat, and polyunsaturated fat. Now, why is this important, you may ask? Well, my piggies, this is a defining factor to whether or not you will be eating to an early grave.
Starting with the death piggies, the best fat you can enjoy and ensure your arteries get clogged up is to eat a bunch of trans fat and saturated fats. Starting with the best heart stopper of all: trans fats are well known for causing clogged blood vessels, heart complications, increased chance of insulin resistance, and inflammation. Some foods with trans fats include: fried food, cakes, ice cream, pizza, and microwave popcorn. Ya know, the process junk.
Saturated fats are much easier to find in everyday food, mainly comprised of animal fat, you only need to eat 25g of Saturated fat daily to be moderately healthy, to put this onto perspective on how easy it is to go above 25g... one apple fritter contains roughly 20-25g of Saturated fat, so just eating 2 will be above the recommended amount. Now this will only increase the rate of obesity but it will not kill you as fast compared to trans fat.
Now for some good and healthy fat! This is actually fairly straightforward, stay away from the unhealthy fats mentioned above and eat more veggies and meat. This will improve your overall health, and when eaten in excess, it will grow more subcutaneous fat which is very beneficial for you fatties!

Philippines Vegetable Oil Market Analysis, Competitive Landscape & Regional Growth Forecast by 2030
The Vegetable Oil is Expected to Grow at a Significant Growth Rate, and the Forecast Period is 2023-2030, Considering the Base Year as 2022.
One kind of edible oil that comes from different plant sources, like grains, seeds, nuts, and fruits, is called vegetable oil. Oil can be extracted using either mechanical or chemical methods. Soybean, palm, sunflower, canola, and olive oils are the most popular varieties. Because of their adaptability and abundance of culinary uses, vegetable oils are essential components in food processing, cooking, and preparation.
Vegetable oils are unique in that they include a high percentage of unsaturated fats, including mono- and polyunsaturated fats, which are thought to be healthier than the saturated fats found in oils derived from animals. These unsaturated fats lower LDL cholesterol levels, which benefits heart health. Vitamin E, an antioxidant that aids in shielding the body from oxidative stress, is also present in vegetable oils.
Vegetable oils are used in non-food applications in addition to cooking. They are employed in the manufacturing of detergents, soaps, cosmetics, and biofuels. Vegetable Oils in Beauty and Personal Care Market Projected to Garner Significant Revenues by 2027
The global vegetable oils in beauty and personal care market was valued at USD 4.4 billion by 2022 and is projected to reach USD 5.8 billion by 2027, at a CAGR of 5.7% during the forecast period in terms of value. Vegetable oils from terrestrial plants consist mainly of triglycerides (95-98%) and mono & diglycerides (1%) with micronutrients, particularly molecules like tocopherols and/or polyphenols. According to SOPHIM, “vegetable oils are natural ingredients mainly composed of triglycerides. Vegetable oils include saturated or unsaturated fatty acids (omega 3, 6, 9) and unsaponifiable matter in small quantities but have highly desirable biological properties for cosmetic use.

Drivers: Rising demand for premium quality products
Recently, there has been an increase in premium cosmetic consumers, specifically in the North American and European regions. This can be attributed to the rising awareness of various skin and hair health benefits associated with natural ingredients-based cosmetic products. As a result, consumers are conscious and always seek transparency on the premium cosmetic products they use daily. Consumers do not prefer synthetic mineral oil-based skin and personal care products, due to which cosmetic manufacturers are now strategizing on using natural ingredients. Nuts and vegetable-based oils fall under natural ingredients that cosmetic product manufacturers, specifically from the premium segment, seek the most. Such specialty natural ingredients enable key functionalities such as moisturization and skin healing properties. Hence, the consumers' concern over the transparency of cosmetic products eventually triggers a rising demand for vegetable oils.
Challenges: Issues related to oxidization
Skincare and makeup cosmetic formulations are typically complex mixtures, with each component influencing efficacy. Vegetable oils are mostly found in liquids, powders, and solid forms of makeup, such as emulsions, lotions, serums, lipsticks, eyeshadows, and mascaras. Vegetable oils are used in cosmetics due to their beneficial properties. However, they are also sensitive to oxygen and can cause off-flavors. The structure of the fatty acids in oils is critical for the shelf life of creams and lotions. Oils are made up of saturated fatty acids with no double bonds, monounsaturated fatty acids with one double bond, or polyunsaturated fatty acids with multiple double bonds.

Polyunsaturated fatty acids are abundant in many vegetable oils, but the main challenge of polyunsaturated fatty acid-rich vegetable oils is that they are oxidatively unstable, which reduces shelf life. When combined with oxygen, fat oxidation of vegetable oils occurs, forming volatile oxidation products. Polyunsaturated fatty acids speed up fat oxidation and increase the number of primary oxidation products formed. These volatile oxidation products cause the rancid aroma of oxidized oil. Oxidation can affect the quality of cosmetic products and cause unwanted aromas and odors.
Rising Demand for Vegetable Oil-Based Skincare Products to Drive the Market
Vegetable oils in skin care products are beneficial for repairing damaged and dry skin. Vegetable oils naturally contain qualities known to nourish and protect the skin over beauty and personal care products with chemicals. Vegetable oils contain fatty acids, vitamins, nutrients, minerals, and antioxidant properties to improve skin complexion, repair damage, regenerate, tone, and protect the skin, hydrate, moisturize, and delay signs of aging. Oils obtained from avocados, coconuts, sunflowers, and argan kernels possess nourishing qualities that soothe and soften skin tissues. Biotique (India) offers Almond Oil Deep Cleanse Purifying Cleansing Oil which contains almond, sesame, neem, and staff tree oils.

The North American Vegetable Oils in Beauty and Personal Care Market is Primarily Driven by Growth in the US and Canadian Markets
The market in North America is highly diversified, and manufacturers largely focus on developing vegetable oils to cater to the demand of end users. The native Americans of northern Mexico and the southwestern US have regarded jojoba oil for years due to its valuable qualities. It is used for multiple, varied cosmetic & medicinal purposes such as hair dressings, body oils, and skin salves. The market in North America is mainly dominated by a few companies, such as Cargill, Incorporated (US) and ADM (US). However, local players such as Maverik Oils (US) and ConnOils LLC (US) also provide a wide range of vegetable oils for beauty and personal care.

FAT MAKES YOU FAT? The other day I posted my breakfast, which was a sourdough toast with 80 gr of avocado, 80 gr salmon, and some cherry tomatoes. And one of my followers asked me if there was too much fat in it, because I had both salmon and avocado, and they’re both rich in fat. My breakfast had 400 calories, of which fat 24 gr, carbs 28 gr, and protein 23 gr. Why is fat important? "Your body needs a regular intake of fat," says Vasanti Malik, a research scientist with the Department of Nutrition at Harvard's T.H. Chan School of Public Health. "Fat helps give your body energy, protects your organs, supports cell growth, keeps cholesterol and blood pressure under control, and helps your body absorb vital nutrients. When you focus too much on cutting out all fat, you can actually deprive your body of what it needs most." The most recent Dietary Guidelines for Americans have moved away from suggesting a specific amount of fat. However, they still emphasize keeping saturated fat intake to less than 10% of daily total calories, adding more foods with mono- and polyunsaturated fats to your diet. Monounsaturated fats are found in avocados and peanut butter; nuts like almonds, hazelnuts, cashews, and pecans; and seeds, such as pumpkin, sesame, and sunflower seeds. It is also in plant oils, such as olive, peanut, safflower, sesame, and canola oils. Polyunsaturated fats are found in plant-based oils like soybean, corn, and safflower oils, and they're abundant in walnuts, flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, and fish like salmon, mackerel, herring, tuna, and trout. Dietary reference intakes suggest that adults consume 45% to 65% of their total calories from carbohydrates, 20% to 35% from fat, and 10% to 35% from protein. That is about 44 grams to 77 grams of fat per day if you eat 2,000 calories a day.* Let’s go back to my breakfast and answer the question: I eat less than 2000 cal per day, and my fat intake for breakfast was 23 gr. Is it too much fat? * Food and Nutrition Board, Institute of Medicine. Dietary reference intakes for energy, carbohydrate, fiber, fat, fatty acids, cholesterol, protein, and amino acids. For example, a single medium tomato contains as much as a quarter of your suggested daily vitamin C intake. Vitamin C helps you deal with infections, including gum disease. Fresh tomatoes also retain more of their natural vitamin content. For example, tomatoes processed and cooked at 190 degrees Fahrenheit for one-half hour lose 29 percent of their vitamin C content, according to the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. 2. #Lime and Jalapenos Peppers such as #jalapeno contain vitamins A, K and C, as well as folate and lutein. Vitamin A helps repair damaged cells and plays a role in keeping your eyesight sharp and skin healthy. Peppers also contain fiber. Olive oil contains mono- and polyunsaturated fats. Unlike saturated fats, these forms may help lower #cholesterol levels in the blood, reducing your risk of heart problems. HONESTLY. I'm a nutrition student and let me tell you, we are taught that all 3 macronutrients are important for our health. What affects people is the TYPE of carbs, protein, and fats consumed, but even then it all comes down to how much a person consumes. Its all about portion control and the cooking style of food.
We need carbohydrates to fuel our bodies and our brains. Our brains love that!!
We need protein for repairing tissues, and they help with enzymes and hormones and other chemical activity in the body.
Fats are important because we don't make certain fats and we need to eat them. They also help with insulation and protect organs.
These three macronutrients contain micronutrients, like vitamins and minerals that are SUPER IMPORTANT for body functions.
So EAT your macronutrients!!! They are good for you!!! You just have to know which ones are better for your health than others.
Whole grains like whole wheat bread are better than white bread. Brown rice is better than white rice. Vegetables, fresh, frozen, canned, are better than fried vegetables. Rinse canned vegetables to eliminate extra salt. Put them in the oven or boil them. Add spices to them for flavor. Fruits, fresh or frozen, are better than canned fruits.
Protein like meat, poultry, and fish are very good for you!!! Put them in the oven or boil them. Add seasonings and spices for flavor. If you fry them on a pan, be careful not to burn them. Legumes like lentils and beans also have both carbohydrates and protein. So does soy, but make sure that if you buy soy products in the US, go for organic because soybeans are the produce that is the most sprayed by pesticides, if I remember correctly.
For fats, mono and polyunsaturated fats are much better than saturated and trans fats. Oils are usually monounsaturated. Avocado, olive oil, and nuts have monounsaturated fat. Nuts also have polyunsaturated fats as well as fish like salmon and tuna.
We have to limit consumption of baked goods as these products have vegetable oil, which is highly oxidizing and harmful to the body. They also have refined carbohydrates which are not good for you.
I went off....I'm very passionate about food discussion. I want to give people the best advice to help them have a more wholesome diet that can help people obtain the most nutrients from their food.
we need carbs and we need fats and we need proteins and honestly fuck diet culture for normalizing malnourishment

Your nutrition plays a vital role in helping you build the body that you want to have. Your nutrition includes 7 major nutrients: carbohydrates, unsaturated fats, dietary fibre, minerals, proteins, vitamins, and water. Eating “right” can be hard because there are many different diets and you want to eat in a way that will benefit how you want to build your body. Eating junk food is not a way of eating right and doesn't benefit your body it harms it by building fat and not muscle. Protein is an important component of every cell in the body. Your hair and nails are mostly made of protein. Your body uses protein to build and repair tissues. You also use protein to make enzymes, hormones, and other body chemicals. Protein is an important building block of bones, muscles, cartilage, skin, and blood. Vitamins boost the immune system, support normal growth and development, and help cells and organs do their jobs. Minerals help your body grow, develop, and stay healthy. Your body uses minerals to perform many different functions from building strong bones to transmitting nerve impulses. Dietary fibre is important for our digestive health and regular bowel movements. Fibre also helps you feel fuller for longer, can improve cholesterol and blood sugar levels and can assist in preventing some diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and bowel cancer. Unsaturated fats include polyunsaturated fatty acids and monounsaturated fats. Both mono- and polyunsaturated fats, when eaten in moderation and used to replace saturated or trans fats (bad fats), can help lower cholesterol levels and reduce your risk of heart disease. When you eat carbs, your body breaks them down into simple sugars, which are absorbed into the bloodstream. As the sugar level rises in your body, the pancreas releases a hormone called insulin. Insulin is needed to move sugar from the blood into the cells, where the sugar can be used as an energy source. Drinking water helps maintain the balance of body fluids. Your body is composed of about 60% water. The functions of these water include digestion, absorption, circulation, creation of saliva, transportation of nutrients, and maintenance of body temperature. These are all important to keeping your body healthy and strong.
