Grabbing your backpack off the seat beside you, you stood and joined the crowd of passengers making their way to the front of the bus. You stopped to let an elderly couple join the line in front of you and used the momentary pause to glance out the window at your destination. A small diner in need of a fresh coat of paint and a good window washing sat off to the left while several rows of gas pumps were lined up on the right. Trucks, vans, campers, and SUVs filled almost every parking spot and spilled into the grassy field around the lot. Some vehicles were ancient, rusted machines that barely looked driveable while others were so fresh and high-tech they could have just been driven off a lot. Those were the vehicles you were looking for.
Stepping off the bus, you headed towards the group of four shiny new vehicles on the other end of the parking lot. On the way, your head was on a constant swivel as you took in everything around you: a middle-aged couple arguing loudly about who forgot to tie down the lawn chairs the last time they stopped, a somewhat familiar-looking man in a cowboy hat unloading a piece of equipment from his huge red truck while another long-haired man filmed him, a woman with dreadlocks fiddling with a remote control only for a large drone to drop out of the sky a moment later and land at her feet, a few children racing towards the diner with their exasperated mother trailing behind yelling at them to watch where they were going.
It was utter chaos and you loved it already.
As you approached the vehicles, you saw the Storm PAR logos printed on the sides and breathed a sigh of relief that after this sixth bus stop, you had finally tracked them down. You still didn’t see who you were looking for, so you walked up to a man with dark curly hair wearing a white button-down Storm PAR shirt who was currently crouched down examining a weird solar panel-looking piece of equipment set up next to one of the vans. As you cleared your throat, he looked up from the machine and blinked, as if he was shocked to see someone standing there despite the crowds of people around him. Glancing around, he asked, “Um…can I help you?”
You guess you shouldn’t be too surprised by his reaction. In your cut-off shorts, boots, and halter top, you looked like you should be hanging out one of the trucks you passed when you first got off the bus, not the polished, company polo shirt-wearing tech heads milling around the Storm PAR vehicles. And you didn’t even want to know what your hair and makeup looked like after four hours on that poorly air-conditioned packed bus.
So, instead of taking offense at this guy’s slightly dismissive tone, you smiled as you adjusted the backpack on your shoulder. “Hi. I’m looking for Scott.”
The man glanced over his shoulder but made no move to stand up. “He’s here but he’s in the middle of some data calculations. Can I help you with something?”
“Not really. I had time off college and he mentioned you guys were having a really active season so I figured why not come out and see all this in action.” The man was still looking at you like he couldn’t understand why you were talking to him and you suddenly realized you hadn’t explained the most important detail. “Fuck, I’m sorry. I guess I should have mentioned, Scotty’s my older brother.”
Instantly, the man’s demeanor shifted and a huge toothy smile spread across his face. “Oh! You should have led with that. Nice to meet you.”
Rising to his feet, he stuck out his hand and you shook it, officially introducing yourself. When he said his name was Javi Rivera and it was your turn for things to click into place. “Javi! You’re Scotty’s business partner, right? He’s told me about you.”
Javi let your hand drop and his eyes shifted towards his equipment once more. “Really? Well, um, you know, I’ve, uh, heard great things about you too.”
You grinned, grabbing onto the straps of your backpack. “Scotty never even mentioned he had a sister, did he?” Javi gave a slight shrug, still not looking directly at you and you laughed. “Yeah, that sounds like him. Never wants to get personal, everything’s about business with him. To be honest, I don’t see or hear from him that much which is just another reason I figured I’d come surprise him when I had the chance. Plus, I read some research Scotty left lying around last time he came home and it was really interesting. I’m excited to be able to see what you guys do firsthand.”
“Well, I’m sure Scotty will be glad to see you. Let me go grab him.”
Javi turned and disappeared into one of the vans. A moment later, he returned with your brother following closely behind. “Javi, I was in the middle of some important calculations. Why did I have to–” Scott stumbled to a stop as he saw you standing there.
Since he was a teenager, Scott had mastered the art of keeping his emotions hidden. He could be fuming mad, joyously happy, or heartbrokenly sad, and in each case keep the same perfect mask on his face. However, you knew his one tell. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t keep the emotion out of his eyes. And right now, you could practically see flames burning within them.
For the first time, you wondered if coming to see him had been such a good idea. Shifting from one foot to the other, you tried to force a smile as you half-heartedly held out your arms. “Surprise.”
Scott remained rooted to the spot, his only movement the constant forceful chewing of his gum. Javi glanced back and forth between the two of you, the smile slowly draining from his face. Hesitantly, he explained, “She said she was your sister so I figured…”
A cultivated smile spread across Scott’s lips but it didn’t reach his eyes as they continued to burn into yours. “No, it’s all good. I’m just surprised to see her.” Without breaking eye contact, he held his tablet out to Javi who took it from him. “Give me a few minutes to talk to her and then I’ll get back to those numbers.”
Javi started to protest, assuring him there was no rush and he could take his time, but Scott had already closed the distance between you. Grabbing your arm tightly to the point of slight painfulness, he guided you past the rest of the Storm PAR vehicles and into the empty field.
Once you were far enough away that you knew none of his co-workers could hear you, you wrenched your arm from his grasp, snapping, “Get off of me!”
“What the hell are you doing here?” he growled, his mask finally slipping as his nostrils flared and lips curled into a snarl.
“Well, hello to you too!” You examined your arm where he had grabbed you, massaging it gently. “Can’t a girl come visit her big brother?”
“Not when she wasn’t invited or even asked if she could come beforehand! What were you thinking? This isn’t one of your wild party vacations. This is my job!”
“I know that. I wasn’t expecting you to drop everything and take me sightseeing. I just thought I could hang around and watch you guys in action. I’ve read some of the research you left at Christmas and I was hoping maybe I could learn a little more about it.”
Scott shook his head, his hands on his hips. “This is our busiest time of the season. I don’t have time to babysit you.”
“What do you think I am? Eight? I don’t need you to babysit me. I told you, I’m interested in what you do and thought I could just hang around and see how it all works.” You shrugged, “Maybe you could even take me on a chase or two.”
“Hell no. I won’t have you getting scared and causing us to have to turn around in the middle of a storm run. Javi and I have worked too hard to get this company to where it is and I’m not going to let you ruin that because, on a whim, you thought it would be fun to see a storm.” Scott scoffed as he rolled his eyes. “It’s so typical of you to still think that just because you want something or because Mom and Dad will pay for it, everyone else will bend over backward to accommodate you. Well, I don’t have to put up with your bullshit anymore.”
You took several deep breaths and tried to keep your anger in check. This was not at all how you thought this would go, but lashing out right now would only make things worse. So, in a calm, steady voice, you tried to shift approaches. “Scotty, we haven’t spent any real time together since you left for MIT. And back then…I’m not proud of the person I was and I can’t imagine what that must have been like for you. But I was a kid who didn’t know any better! I’ve grown up since you left. And this trip isn’t just something I thought would be fun to do ‘on a whim’. I worked hard to save up the money to come here because I wanted to see you and spend time with you—however little time you may be able to work into your schedule. And I promise I won’t get scared or make you stop your chase. If I don’t like it, I’ll suck it up until it’s over then not ask to go again.” Taking a step forward, you gently placed your hand on his arm and gave him a timid smile. “Let me show you who I am now…how much I’ve changed. Please, Scotty.”
But Scott yanked his arm away and took a step back. “I don’t care where you go, but you need to stay away from me and Storm PAR. Now, I have work to do.” He took one last look at you, and, for just a moment, you thought maybe he felt bad for what he said and was reconsidering things. But then, he blew a small bubble with his gum and popped it loudly in your face. You jumped slightly, the sound sharp and startling, before glaring at him. He had been doing that since you were kids and he knew how much you absolutely despised it. Shooting you one last smug smirk, Scott turned and walked off towards the cluster of Storm PAR vehicles.
You turned to look out into the open field, lip quivering, as you fought against the tears that were burning your eyes. Things between you and Scott had been pretty bad when he left for college, but you hadn’t realized he still really thought so poorly of you. The last few holidays or family events he had been forced to come to, things seemed to be getting a little better. You thought that maybe you had reached a turning point in your relationship. But now it was clear you had been very wrong.
Looking back at the diner and overflow of vehicles, you wondered what you should do now. You had no idea when the next bus came by or how to get a ticket home or if there was a motel nearby you could stay in for the night or how you would even get there if there was or what you would do in the morning or—
UGH! The longer you stared at the Storm PAR logo on the side of the van Scott had disappeared into, the less hurt you felt. Instead, the pain began to shift into outrage. How dare Scott treat you like this? You had spent a lot of money and wasted two weeks of your summer vacation to take this trip to see him. You knew it would involve listening to him drone on about numbers and graphs you could barely comprehend for most of the time, but you were willing to smile, nod, and seem interested to show you cared about what he did. But no! He didn’t even give you a chance to explain yourself or prove that you weren’t here to interfere with his work. He had just torn you down before turning his back on you and walking away. That asshole!
The sun was starting to dip lower in the sky and you realized standing here fuming about Scott wasn’t going to help your situation. You could do that once you found a bus schedule or a place to stay for the night. However, as you stormed back through the parking lot, something caught your eye.
When you had come through the first time and passed the familiar-looking man and the long-haired guy with the camera, you had only seen their truck from behind. But now that you were looking at the front, you noticed the distinctive metal logo attached to the front of the truck’s grille: a tornado with horns jutting out the top of the vortex. And you realized why the man in the cowboy hat looked familiar.
Scott might not talk to you very often, but during the instances that he had, you had heard plenty of complaints about Tyler Owens and his group of Tornado Wranglers. Everything they did was the complete opposite of how Storm PAR operated and it drove Scott crazy that while he was out there doing the “real work”, this group of amateur YouTube chasers were the ones getting all the attention and acclaim when all they were really doing was getting in Storm PAR’s way.
And Scott seemed to have another level of hatred for Owens himself.
Out of curiosity, you had looked up the Wranglers’ YouTube channel and found it pretty entertaining. While Scott viewed every aspect of his work with complete seriousness and professionalism, these guys tackled the same work like they were having the time of their lives. They were still informative, explaining to their viewers how tornadoes formed and the types of destruction they can cause, but they would then drive straight into the center of a funnel or take chat requests of crazy things to do in the storm. It honestly seemed like a great way to get people excited about learning about tornadoes while also keeping them entertained. And it seemed like their nearly 850,000 followers would agree. No wonder Scott hated them so much.
Suddenly, you had an idea—the perfect little act of revenge.
Changing directions, you made your way over to Owens’s truck. You could see he was now alone, tinkering with the equipment attached to the bed of his truck. He had traded his white cowboy hat for a faded backward cap and had pushed his sleeves up above his elbows as he worked, his sun-bronzed skin on full display in the dying light.
Though you had only watched a handful of the Tornado Wranglers’ videos, you had a pretty good idea of the kind of man Tyler Owens was and how you could persuade him to help you. After all, these narcissistic, jacked-up truck-driving, overcompensating pretty boys were all the same. The kind who had been fawned and swooned over their entire adult lives just because they flashed a charming smile or a playful wink in the right direction. However, with just a little stroking of their ego or a bat of your eyes, they could become putty in your hands. All you had to do was introduce yourself.
Reaching the side of the truck, you tucked your hands into your back pockets so it thrust your chest forward and, biting your lip, called out coyly, “Hey there, cowboy.”
Owens glanced up, a curious smile curling across his lips as he saw you, his eyes traveling from your head to boot and back up. “Well, hello there.”
Giggling softly as you placed your hand on the side railing, you asked in a sing-songy voice, “You’re Tyler, right? The big...bad…tornado wrangler?” With each word, you walked your fingers across the railing, your eyes locked on his.
He leaned back, wiped his hands on his jeans, and said, “I might be. Depends on who’s asking.” He was still looking at you but his smile had slipped slightly and you realized you might not have grabbed his attention as well as you thought.
Placing both hands on the railing now, you pushed yourself up slightly, your chest pressed together, and you looked up at him from under your lashes. “What if I’m asking?”
Owens stared at you for a long moment, his eyes still examining you thoughtfully, though you were shocked to see they stayed locked on your face and didn’t dip down to your breast like you had expected. Then, finally, he said, “You seem like a nice girl, sweetheart, but I don't think I'm what you're looking for. Good luck though.” He gave you a kind, yet dismissive nod, and went back to whatever he had been working on.
Your jaw dropped, lips moving silently as you tried to figure out what just happened. This kind of thing always worked on guys like him in the past. Show a little skin, stroke their egos a little, and they would be wrapped around your finger in no time. But he hadn’t even given your act more than a passing glance. It was possible you weren’t his type or maybe he was in a committed relationship, but neither of those things had exactly deterred guys in the past.
You turned around—properly dismissed—and were just about to walk away when another thought crossed your mind. What if…what if you had misjudged him? What if he wasn’t the kind of guy you assumed he was? From what you had seen in his videos, he was cocky and overconfident and a huge flirt, but what if that was all for the cameras? During your very brief interaction, he seemed polite and respectful even as you tried to throw yourself at him, something no other guy had ever done in that situation.
Maybe you had gone about this all wrong. Maybe you needed a different approach. A more honest one…
You hurried around the other side of the truck so you were in front of him once more. Dropping all the over-the-top flirtatiousness from your voice, you said, “Okay, I’m sorry. I thought…it doesn’t matter what I thought, but the point is I shouldn’t have done that. I’ve had a really shitty day and approached this situation all wrong.”
Owens didn’t raise his head, but his eyes drifted back in your direction. Feeling like he was offering you a chance, you explained, “Listen, the deal is I came here to surprise my brother with a visit, and as soon as he saw me, he told me he doesn’t want me here and I should fuck off out of his way.”
That got his attention. Looking up, his brow furrowed, Owens asked, “Your brother said that to you?”
You rolled your eyes and hit the heel of your palm against the side of the truck. “Well, not in those exact words but the sentiment was there. The point is, he told me he didn’t care where I went as long as I left him and his team alone. So, I plan on respecting his wishes…and wondered if I could hang out with your team instead.”
“Well–” He leaned back, clearly not interested in your request, but you cut him off before he could turn you down.
“Please! It’ll just be for a day or two. I promise not to get in the way or mess with any of your work. I just know he has a problem with you guys and seeing me with you will drive him insane.”
Putting down the wrench he was holding, Owens shook his head. “Back up…who are we talking about now? Who’s your brother?”
You realized you needed to get better at introducing people into a conversation before jumping right in. “Scott? He works for Storm PAR?” He hesitated so you sighed and turned towards the other group of storm chasers at the other end of the lot. With one hand on your hip, you pointed lazily with the other, “The surly tall one who never takes off his stupid baseball cap?”
Instantly, Owens straightened up and you knew you had piqued his interest. Chuckling, he asked, “Wait, so you’re telling me Mr. Clipboard and Chewing Gum is your brother?” You nodded. “And you want my help messing with him?”
“Yeah, that about sums it up. So, will you do it?”
The cowboy leaned over the side of the truck and gave you a wide grin. “Oh, sweetheart, you’ve come to the right place.”

The Au Pair Boy Part 6
We're back on schedule with this and for whatever reason, it always seems to get ahead of the other stories so I have a lot in backlog for this one.
In this we have Steve trying to find people to work for Eddie.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5
~
The gardeners were the first people he hired. A brother duo named Jonathan and Will Byers. The younger brother would design what they wanted the garden to look like, which they would email to Eddie to get checked off on and then both of them would go to town.
Within their first week a lot the debris had been cleared away and they had began trimming back the foliage that would do damage to the property.
Steve immediately bargained for more money for them after that. They deserved it after the mess they had to clean up was quickly and efficiently taken care of.
The groundsman was a gruff, older guy who looked like he had just walked off the set of “The Secret Garden”. His name was Jim Hopper and was happy to move into the groundskeeper’s house on the property. It had been there since the house had been built and Eddie had revamped into to a sort of mother-in-law suite.
The problem he was running into was finding a pool company that hadn’t black listed the address because apparently Ethan liked harassing them, male or female. Asking them to wear skimpy clothes to clean it, putting leaves in the pool so they would have to fish it out with their long nets meaning they would have to lean over a lot, and so on.
Steve was about ready to give up when he found a guy just starting out. He didn’t have any clients yet and was willing to at least take a look at the pool.
He nearly sobbed with relief.
When the man arrived, Steve was pleased to find a well-dressed black man with a shiny new truck and all new equipment. In bright blue lettering on the side of the truck was Sinclair’s Cleaning Service and underneath was a couple of the things they did, like gutters, driveways, gullies, and of course pools.
He wore cargo pants and a polo shirt with the logo on the front with the name Charles underneath and had a bright smile on his face when he greeted Steve with a firm handshake.
“I hope you don’t mind me bringing my son along,” Charles said indicating his meek shadow. “My daughter Erica caught a cold so my wife is taking her to the doctor’s to see if we can’t get her some medicine. But I couldn’t leave him at home and Sue didn’t want to take him with her.”
“Because I would be bored, Dad,” the boy huffed.
Charles chuckled. “Because he would be bored. Say hello, Lucas.”
“Hi, Mr. Harrington,” Lucas said. “This is a pretty nice house you’ve got here.”
Steve smiled at him. “It’s not my house,” he said wistfully, “I’m just a cog in the machine that helps it run. Think of me as...” he tapped his lips thoughtfully, “the house steward. I’m taking care of all the hiring of staff for the owner, Eddie Munson.”
“And he’ll be the one paying the bill?” Charles asked as Steve led them all the way to the back where the pool was.
“That’s right,” Steve said, opening the back gate to let them through. “There is place to store anything you need so that you don’t have lug heavy stuff back here every time.” He pointed to the shack off the side of the pool. He had paid Jonathan and Hopper extra to help him clean it out.
“Looks good,” Charles said, opening the door to see inside. “The pool isn’t a weird shape, so that helps. Strange color of the water though.”
“Water’s clear,” Steve assured him. “The owner just had the floor of the pool painted red instead of blue.”
Charles and Lucas shared raised eyebrows. “Did he now?”
“Yup!” Steve said with a grin. “You’ll be able to see for yourself on the times you have to drain it.”
Lucas picked up a plastic measuring cup and dipped it in the water, clearly not quite believing Steve that the water wasn’t red. The giggle he gave when the water came out clear made Steve grin.
“Well, I’ll be,” Charles huffed. He turned to Steve. “I think I’m the man for the job.” He stuck out his hand and Steve shook it.
“It appears you are,” he said with a smile. “Hey, Lucas, there’s another boy here around your age, helping his older brother with the gardening. Would you like to meet him?”
Lucas looked over at his dad, who nodded. “Yeah, sure.”
Steve led the way to the main garden where Will and Jonathan trimming the shrubbery. The one they were currently working on was the Beetlejuice snake.
“Hey, Jonathan!” Steve called out. “Will! Come meet our new pool peeps.”
Both boys shared a glance but put their trimmers down and came over.
“Will and Jonathan Byers, our gardeners extraordinaire,” Steve introduced. “Meet Charles and Lucas Sinclair. If you need anything you can ask each other if you can’t find me.”
“Lucas is about start high school,” Charles prompted. “How old are you, Will?”
Will looked over at Jonathan unsure if he should say.
“He’s fourteen,” Jonathan answered for him, ruffling his hair. “He’s starting high school this year, too. He’s just a March baby, so he’ll be younger then his peers.”
Will stuck his tongue out at his brother.
“You’ll forgive me, Jonathan,” Charles said gently, “but you don’t look much older than he is.”
Jonathan laughed. “I’m older than I look. I went to high school with Steve-o here. My parents had Will as ‘let’s a have another baby to fix our failing relationship’ ploy. The business was my dad’s.”
Charles looked over at Steve and raised an eyebrow. Steve didn’t look much older than the two teens either.
“I’m twenty-five,” Steve said, putting his hands on his hips. “I am,” he insisted when Charles and Lucas gave him matching disbelieving looks.
Jonathan cleared his throat in to the resulting awkwardness. “Yeah, let’s just say that didn’t work out and my mom got the lawn and garden business in the divorce because she put the time and effort into it, and he drank the profits. Then when I turned eighteen, I took it over. This is Will’s first year helping me out.”
“You two the only employees?” Lucas asked tilting his head to the side. “I mean I get with my dad, he’s just starting out, but you’ve been doing this for years.”
“No,” Jonathan snorted. “But to gardens this impressive and important, I’m not going to let anyone near them but me and Will. I had the whole team out to clean things up but for maintenance and design I take care of it and Will helps.”
Lucas just shrugged his shoulders. “It’s your funeral, man.”
“Bigger places than this,” Steve huffed, “have been handled by lesser men than Jonathan Byers. I wouldn’t have hired him if I didn’t think he could do the job.” He patted Jonathan on the arm.
Jonathan blushed and ducked his head. “Thanks, Steve.”
“Do you like D&D?” Will suddenly blurted out like he couldn’t contain his nerdiness any longer.
Both Jonathan and Steve braced for rejection, but Lucas lit up like a Christmas tree.
“Hell yeah!” he cried. “I have a level thirteen half-elf ranger. But the other half isn’t human, it’s a teifling!”
“Whoa!” Will said, eyes wide. “I didn’t know you could do that!”
Suddenly both boys were off rambling about stat blocks and armor proficiency and the three adults turned to each other.
“Do you have any idea what they’re talking about?” Charles asked with a grimace. “He always goes too fast for me to understand.”
Jonathan held up his hands in surrender. “Don’t look at me, I was the loner artsy type in high school, I didn’t do that nerd crap.”
Steve held his thumb and forefinger close together. “I know a little bit. It’s really popular with the kids now days. Especially after that TV show came out and had all the main characters playing it.”
“Better you than me,” Jonathan huffed. “Nancy’s little brother and Will used to play all the time, but they lost their GM or something and haven’t been able to play since.”
Steve nodded. “I think they prefer DM in D&D, but GM works.” He stopped and turned to interrupt the stream of D&D coming from Will and Lucas. “How many people do you need to play again?”
Lucas and Will paused for a moment.
“Counting the DM?” Will asked and Steve nodded. “Um...four to five ideally but can have up to seven comfortably.”
“So if you, Lucas and Mike all play,” Steve said slowly, licking his lips over his sly smile, “then you would want to have one more to make it ideal?”
“Why?” Lucas scoffed, “Do you just happen to have someone who could play?”
“Yes.”
Both boys looked at each other and then back at Steve, aghast.
“There is no way,” Lucas huffed, putting his hand on his hips.
“I’d have to ask Eddie,” Steve said, motioning all of them to follow him. He led them through the house, “but I’m pretty sure he’d be thrilled to let you use it.”
He opened a door that was just off from the kitchen on the other side of the theater room. In it was everything a tabletop gamer could want. It had row upon row of books on the shelves. Tables to put snacks on. Dice of every color imaginable and figures of every race, class, and monster type were in carefully labeled small drawers. But the centerpiece, the crowning glory of the room; a long table that had a town laid out on it, complete with the squares for combat and movement.
“Holy shit!” Lucas swore, his eyes wide, blocking the doorway.
Charles, who could see over the top of his son. “I’ll allow it this once, but otherwise, watch your language.”
Will pushed Lucas out of the way to see into the room, too. “Oh. Um. That’s just...wow.”
Steve ushered them into the room. “I don’t doubt there would be certain things off limits and I would have to be here to supervise, at least while Eddie is gone. But feel free to look around. I wouldn’t touch though.”
Lucas and Will ran into the room filled with glee. Will went straight the mini-figures and Lucas went to the table.
“Gosh, Steve,” Charles said, “are you sure that the owner will be all right letting the boys play in here? It all looks so expensive, I shudder to think what would happen if they broke something.”
To Charles’s surprise it was Jonathan that chuckled and shook his head. “Nothing. He buys a new one and carries on like nothing happened. Will broke one of the two Gate of Kings statues at the opening of the hedge maze. He had a new one out the next day. Didn’t say shit about Will breaking it. Just it happened, move on.”
Charles still looked skeptical so Steve pulled out his phone. “Hey, Eddie. I hope I didn’t catch you at a bad time. Yep, he’s taking the job. Yeah, he has a fifteen year old son named Lucas who is going to be helping out. No, no. Nothing like that. Will let it slip he likes D&D and that spawned Lucas liking it. Of course I did. I didn’t even have to ask, yes. That’s why I’m calling. Brilliant, thank you. Yep. We’ll talk at bed time as always. Bye.”
“Now all I have to do is call my friend Dustin,” he said with broad smile. “He was my first nannying job and is about their age. I kept in contact with him and his mom because they’re good people. He was just complaining the other day that his school shut down their D&D club and none of the other former members were interested in trying to keep it alive.”
Just then Will came up to him and hugged him. “Thanks, Steve. This is going to be so awesome. Mike is absolutely going to flip his shit.”
Steve ruffled Will’s hair and smiled. “Oh yeah, I totally have to be there when he sees it for the first time.”
Charles brought his chin in and looked at Steve for a moment. “It sounds as though you hired your friend to the do the gardening job instead of the best man for the job.”
“Dad,” Lucas warned, “if you ruin this for me, I will never speak to you again. He already said that Jonathan and his team was the best for the job. Youth doesn’t mean lack of experience. He’s been doing the landscaping thing for seven years. You’ve only been doing the cleaning thing for a month.”
Charles ducked his head. “I’m sorry. That was out of line. Especially just having agreed to the job for you and all.”
“Apology accepted,” Jonathan said with a nod. “Come on, Will we really do have to get back to work. I’ll get you Steve’s number later and he can help you coordinate this all for you guys.”
Will nodded and after swapping numbers with Lucas, followed his brother out the door.
Charles smiled at Lucas. “Aren’t you glad I made you come today?”
“Yeah, yeah,” he huffed. “I only set off the fire alarm that once and that was because the bacon grease dripped onto the gas flame. It’s not my fault you and mom decided to come home at that exact moment.”
Steve burst out laughing. “That’s the worst, kid. But yeah, it’ll be in your thirties before you live that one down.”
Charles shook hands with Steve and said they would be back on Saturday to start the pool cleaning.
Steve watched as they walked away. He just need to call Dustin and lure him over here. A picture of the D&D room would do just the trick.

Let It Hurt Part 2 (Yandere Bakugou)
This was a Quotev request! I honestly wasn’t entirely sure how to continue this, but I did my best!
Tumblr media
Title: Let It Hurt (Part 2)
Pairings: Bakugou Katsuki x Reader
WARNINGS: Yandere themes, swearing, abuse of power
Summary: Your boss’s requests begin to disturb you.
Part 1: here
“So let it hurt, let it bleed
Let it take you right down to your knees
Let it burn to the worst degree
May not be what you want, but it's what you need
Sometimes the only way around it
Is to let love do it's work.”
-from “Let It Hurt” by Rascal Flatts
Your boss’s requests go far beyond what’s normal.
Your job as personal assistant started out normally, it really did. Just filing paperwork for the boss and organizing his schedule. Nothing special.
Then it wasn’t normal.
“You’ve got a new uniform.”
Mr. Bakugou wasn’t asking when he handed over the uniform and you’re confused from the get-go. No one else in the office wore a uniform- there was a dress code, sure, but not a uniform.
You expected a polo shirt with the company’s logo on it, but that wasn’t the case at all. Inside the packaging he’d handed you was a fairly low-cut button-up shirt with thin material that you could almost see through and a tight skirt that was just barely long enough to be appropriate.
You confronted him immediately, but he convinced you that it was nothing personal. “This is what every personal assistant wears” and “If you quit over something like this, I’ll make sure to tell every company you apply to just how petty you are.”
He had connections- there was no way you could fight this anymore. It was appropriate, and that was enough, wasn’t it? Mr. Bakugou sure seemed to think so, with the way his eyes trailed over your form every time you walked by his desk.
The next request was to move your desk right next to his. You’d been in the corner and you had been happy there, but no longer would you have any privacy. But this wasn’t something you could refuse- you were his personal assistant after all.
It just felt creepy to be watched so often.
Mr. Bakugou started requesting that you ate at your desk. If you wanted something from the break room, he’d get it for you. He was the only other person in the office that ate at his desk. You missed talking with your coworkers and not looking down at your sandwich in silence, being scrutinized by your intimidating boss.
Then, he started asking you to tie his tie every morning. Apparently he’d been wearing clip-ons and why he decided to change to normal ones now was a mystery to you. Maybe it was because he seemed to get a kick out of how your trembling hands did their best not to brush against his clothed chest.
He had the smuggest smile you’d ever seen when he asked you to button up his shirt one morning. That’s where you drew a line and he immediately had his hands up in defense, claiming that he’d just been joking and telling you to lighten up. You wanted to believe that, but then why did he leave his shirt unbuttoned in the first place?
Today, you felt as though an even worse request was lingering, unasked, in the air. You couldn’t explain it, but you could tell your boss was mulling over how to ask you the question he wanted to.
It was late. Much later than the time you were supposed to leave, but that was nothing new. He seemed to like keeping you overtime, but you couldn’t put your finger on the reason why. Was it a powertrip, perhaps?
With shaky hands, you continued filing his paperwork, doing your best not to make any mistakes under his sharp eye. He made a noise of dissent suddenly, making you jump in your seat and pivot to face him immediately.
“You’ve been avoiding me lately,” he scoffed. Your back straightened in your chair in confusion and slight fear at his pissed tone.
“How can I avoid you? I never leave the office.” It was true- except to go home, you never left the office once during work hours and beyond.
“That’s not what I mean,” Mr. Bakugou’s voice raised, angrier at your response than you expected. Your lip quivered a little as you shrank into yourself, trying to make yourself as small as possible. “You’re avoiding my gaze, you’re not talking, you’re just… ugh.”
You were confused. The two of you never talked and you’d always avoided his gaze, even before this personal assistant promotion. Had you been somehow doing that more often these days, perhaps to avoid getting asked to do something terrible?
“Sorry,” you couldn’t help the meek apology from slipping from your lips automatically, “I must have been a little overwhelmed. I’ll… I’ll work harder not to…”
“Come here.” Mr. Bakugou demanded sternly.
Gulping down your trepidation, you shakily walked in front of his desk, where he’d asked you to stand. He beckoned you even closer with a finger and you stepped closer until your knees were pressing against the mahogany.
“Lean over, idiot.” Ah, the insults. You hadn’t heard those in a while.
You hesitantly did so and a smirk spread across his face.
“Kiss me.”
“Wh-what?!” You were sure you’d misheard somehow, taking a shaky step backwards to physically distance yourself in case he decided to fulfill the request on his own.
“Hmph, I thought maybe you’d comply. Maybe you grew a spine after that shirt button incident,” Mr. Bakugou didn’t seem too upset, more like he was bored of your answer.
“Yes, well, both requests are extremely inappropriate. I-I’ll be leaving now. And I’ll be speaking to HR in the morning!” You suddenly felt braver, now that he didn’t seem angry at you. Sure, you didn’t have any proof, but maybe they’d take you seriously. If not, you’d quit and find a job not in this damned field!
Mr. Bakugou rested his fist on his fist, a slight smile on his face. A genuine one, not a smirk or smug grin like you were used to, “Go ahead, babe.”
Babe?! You stood up and stormed out of the office, not bothering to clock out. He could do that for you, that asshole. You were done with all of his shit requests and treatment.
Too bad you’d never get a chance to take it all up with HR in the morning.
Not when Mr. Bakugou had a backup plan.

Note
So…
I may or may not be obsessed with your Afton Virus AU, and so I may or may not have made a whole oneshot about it.
This story follows the point of view of a legal department head working for Fazbear Entertainment and their
encounter with a certain individual and their two animatronic friends.
Includes:
Descriptions of torture, not too explicit talk about gore though, other than a few offhanded mentions of blood. Still, a little touchy for people who might be squeamish.
PS: Y/N is 100% inspired by Sonya Falsworth from Secret Invasion. Her witty dialogue masking a total psychopath is a perfect match for Y/N and you can’t tell me otherwise.
Expect more. (If I have the motivation)
From a very, very sleep-deprived amateur writer.
—————————————————————
“Ah, you’re finally awake! Was wondering when you’d wake up.”
A voice called out from your blurry vision, your eyes were bombarded by bright fluorescent lights. Your shirt was soggy, in fact all of you were soggy. Where the hell were you?
“Who are you?”
The mysterious figure in front of you chuckled, standing up from their metal foldable chair. You got a better look at them, dressed in a black polo shirt with the Fazbear Entertainment branding pasted on.
Mechanics Supervisor
You looked at their hands, covered by gloves. They were twitching. They held an almost uncanny smile, the hat they were wearing covering up their eyes, not letting you truly see their full face.
“You seriously don’t remember me? Seriously?”
The figure chuckled again, their tone mocking and brimming with psychopathic enthusiasm. They returned to their seat.
“Well, just to jog your memory I’m the person who had their hands mangled a year ago thanks to your shitshow of a company!”
Oh, them.
You remember that case well, one of the worse you’ve seen. Sure, worse incidents had happened before but what made this one so bad was that unlike the others, the victim was still alive, and capable of suing.
Thank god they didn’t, all the bad press was already overwhelming for the PR department. One lawsuit was all it would have taken to bring that whole place down to the ground.
In addition, you got a suitable promotion for helping handle that case while causing minimum damages to the company’s image.
You are brought out of your trip down memory lane however, by another piece of dialogue from the person in front of you.
“Now, you’re probably wondering what you’re doing here. You see those wires clipped to your chair?”
You looked down, the shaky wooden chair you were sitting on was damp as well. In addition, the blue plastic wires were there, as promised.
“Those are used to charge the animatronics if the charging booths aren’t working. In fact, over there you’ll see my two lovely boys operating the emergency battery that goes along side it.”
You turned to your left, seeing the aforementioned battery, bright red with a Freddy logo in the middle, sitting on a toppled filing cabinet being used as a makeshift table.
The aforementioned “two lovely boys” were to your surprise, the daycare attendants that you remember very vividly having to settle a case involving dead children around. What the hell were they doing here?
“Now, I’m going to ask you a few questions regarding the security system of the main Fazbear office, and if you answer you get to live!”
You cough, your voice coming out rough and coarse.
“And if I don’t?”
“Well, then let’s just say that I didn’t splash you with water for no reason, ay?”
The figure pointed towards the daycare attendants, the two perking up like lost puppies and fiddling with a piece of machinery near the battery.
“How would you feel about 200 volts of electricity going through your veins? Not enough to kill you, but enough to leave you teetering on the edge.”
“…”
“As expected. Now, let me ask you, what are all the passcodes to all 30 doors that lead up to the CEO’s office?”
“…”
“I’d suggest talking before I make you see hell itself. Most people would agree with me I’d think, well at least the smart ones. You a smart one?”
“…”
“Alright, didn’t think so. Buttercup?”
You turn to your left, the sun-themed daycare attendant eagerly pressing on a button on the machinery, before you knew it…
—————————————————————
Your body was steaming.
Your nerves burned.
You are coughing blood.
Your breathing was heavy.
Your heart beat so fast, it felt like it was going the speed of light.
“Now, you willing to talk now?”
You coughed, droplets of blood leaving your mouth and your throat being in incredible pain.
“Fuck… off.”
“Well then, that was rude.”
The figure got off their chair, clapping their hands. The daycare attendants walked over cheerfully, like puppies being called over by their owner.
“Buttercup, blackbird, could you handle our guest?”
The two animatronics enthusiastically nodded in unison.
“Sure thing, sunshine!”
“We’ll do our best, starlight.”
“I knew I could count on you two.”
With a kiss to both of them, the figure left the room, flipping off the lights on their way out. Leaving you alone with two animatronics that had super-human strength, in the dark.
Their vivid fluorescent purple eyes stared into your soul, acting as the only light source in the room and shining a purple-tinted light onto your face. They raised their hands, full with tools likely stolen from parts and service.
Was that a drill?

Note
1, 3, 40, 99 & 100. 🎃 pretty plz~
1 - The meaning behind my url:
It's one of my favorite songs from an amazing band called HIDE. If you're into heavy, industrial, synth, death rock shit then you should listen to them.
youtube
3 - How many tattoos i have and what they are:
I have 41 tattoos. I've got all kinds of stuff from gene belcher in a gimp mask to a cheeseburger with sunglasses(the traditional fools band logo) to a skunk that says "Mommy's little stinker" in a banner wrapped around it. All kinds of dumb random shit😅
40 - Have you ever been in a fist fight?
I have! One of my grandpas was a golden glove boxer, and he taught my cousin and I how to box. So I had some knowledge going into it. It was kind of weird because I fought my best friend. Now let me explain. I was a junior in high school, and I found out that I had to go to continuation school to make up credits. I was mad about it, and I think he was getting annoyed with my complaining about it. He was like, if you're mad, fight me and get your anger out. He was a wrestler and a lot bigger than I was. We agreed on no head shots, so we squared up and fought for a few minutes. Good times.
99 - Have you ever met someone who didn’t seem real?
Hmmm I can't say that I have. I guess if I have I'd definitely know, right?
100 - Give us one thing about you that no one knows.
I don't want to give away ALL my secrets. Only a few people know about this, butttttt I was a model for a children's right-hand golf club set when I was like 5 or 6 years old. My dad worked for a golf company, and I remember one Saturday he took my brother and I to a park near our house. They dressed us up in some polo shirts, gave us hats and we posed for pictures that were put on the boxes for the golf club sets. I'll have to ask my mom if she has any of the photos in an album somewhere.
Thanks Breezy 🖤🖤🖤

FNAF Security Breach Uniform Designs
For the last ten years I've been absolutely obsessed with FNAF. Lately I've been obsessed with the idea of what the Pizzaplex uniforms would be and how awful they probably would be (plus I wanted to cosplay a worker). So I decided to do a deep dive and create the most obnoxious uniforms ever.
I may actually make these very slowly and cosplay them at conventions. I was slightly inspired because of an artist on here does an xReader fic and I didn't see them in a specific uniform really, maybe besides a few accessories. So here we are. The most ugly FNAF uniforms you will ever see and I WILL expand to jackets and name tags on a later date.
(Explanations and designs UTC)
So, to preface I wanted to say that I am majoring in PR and social media management, so I have a little bit of an idea of how branding and marketing works. I've also have worn the most ugly uniforms in minimum wage jobs, so I do know that corporate companies do not care if they put their employees in the most ugly thing as long as it is on theme.
Things to consider:
What did uniforms for establishments in this category looked like over the years?
Are you doing specific uniforms for specific areas of the Pizzaplex?
What color pallets are branded to each character?
What aesthetic are you going for?
Establishments
For establishments, I chose Disney (theming being important and a big establishment that would hide skeletons) and Chuck E Cheese (animatronics and specifically the time frame). I did a deep dive on Chuck E Cheese and their uniforms in the 80-90's, which led me to doing a ton of Ebay and WorthPoint searching along with watching old taped birthdays from the 90's.
I personally believe that Fazbear Entertainment wouldn't stray from the bright and manufactured look that they have going and are very cheap, plus the glamrock phase was in the 70's. And companies tend to be very late to trends. So we can take these the fact that they would be ugly and bright uniforms that are severely outdated and put that together.
With this, you get something that looks like this (all being CEC besides the screencap of the movie trailer):
Tumblr media
I used the idea that each area of the Pizzaplex would have its own uniform, much like Disney. So I assigned each of these uniforms a different animatronic's area (Roxy's Raceway, Mazercize, Superstar Daycare, Monsty's Wild Golf, and then for Freddy I did Rockstar Row). I did one general staff shirt, which is also very ugly.
Color Pallets
This was very simple. I just chose colors from the animatronics/their sign logos and then made a simple color pallet.

This process was easy enough and I made sure to give myself a few colors for some of the ones that had multiple shades or similar hues.
I didn't do Bonnie, only because he wasn't in the game. BUT, I do have a design in mind for him. And it is actually the least ugly one.
Uniforms
Each uniform comes with a polo and either a full cap or visor. You will wear them with either black or khaki colored pants or shorts, held up with a black belt. Black shoes. Then you will have a matching apron. The aprons I have not designed yet, so they will come with the others I am going to design.
Here are my ugly designs.

I hope y'all remember that they're supposed to be god awful and poorly drawn. I am not spending a ton of time perfecting them. I debated on putting the logo on the arms also, so that is an alternate design.
They're supposed to be ugly, not make sense other than theming, and just be obvious copy paste designs made just so they have a little bit of differentiating.
If anyone wants me to go deeper into it, I will. I'll make more shirts and make them even worse.
Please guys they're supposed to be poorly drawn and obnoxiously not good designs. I am using my shitty knowledge for bad
