Who Needs A Terrorist, We Have ‘POLICE’..!
Oye …Dikhta nai tujhe..Policewala hoon Main..!
Oh really…is it so..Are you a COP…So...Should I Be Worriedor Happy..?
To my all encounters with licensed gunmen, I ask the samequestion to myself. But my recent encounter made me worried.
Lets brief you up with the situation.
Last Monday I was in Lajpat Nagar Market – another local marketof the Indian Capital, famous for its cheap-not-so-local-fashionable products.I was there with one of my friend purchasing gifts for some of my hometown friends whom I am about to meet in Holi.
Evening of any such market in Delhi is fantastic; the marketplace is filled with Shopaholics like myself and the aroma of crowd, kids, buyers-sellers fight, dust, street food is ever-ready to revitalize your body, soul and mind; Ofcourse with only side-effect and it’s to lose control over your wallet and money within.
But this Monday was a different one at Lajpat. The market was empty.. Could you just imagine a space with crowd no less than a KUMBH Mela was empty… I was able to roam around in peace and shop with comfort…Is it what I wanted…Is it what I liked about Lajpat…The answer is No and the situation made me worried.
While I was thinking where are the buyers..My friend asked one of the street shop vendors and according to him day’s after Delhi election have been a bit rough for any local market like this one.
Still.. I was clueless… I mean, how can election affect crowd of a local market..It was a bouncer for me. However, despite of the background situation I continued my shopping and failed some of the bargaining exams. An hour or so…I saw Lajpat running here and there.
The vendors were running with their temporary attachments, the MAAL (Products) and it was like some Godzilla has entered and the locals are unable to hide. To my back, there came a police van..with some officers…some constables and some I don’t know what…closing all the street shops…loading all the MAAL of street vendors in their Government Jeep.

What the hell is this…Are you not allowed to sell in here..Why are they closing all the shops…Hey wait..Why are you running…Where are you taking your stuff..I really want to buy one of those..??!
These were my questions as the PoliceSunami hit Lajpat.
Each and Every Shop Closed..Street Vendors – Nowhere to be found…Leftover Crowd – Vanished…Me – Wondering after failed shopping attempt..!
Some investigation of my own and I found that these police officers have been closing all the street shops in such local markets ever since the AAP won in Delhi. They take all the products with themselves and the street vendors are left with no choice than to run off with everything they got.
But my ultimate question of WHY was unanswered… And the situation was added to my First’s List.
All that I am not able to understand is the Tsunami effect caused by that Police van in Lajpat. The vendors running off and the Policeman forcefully collecting everything from local sellers. The drunk policeman asking vendors to close their shops..the Officer in the Jeep monitoring the traumatized situation…The locals running..the buyers wondering and making their way to the metro quietly. Why was this happening?
Why are they so frightened… These are the policemen… They will not harm any innocent… Why will they not allow to sell and buy..Don’t Know.!
All that I know.. With gun in hand… With the power given.. With the ability to misuse…With the Title ‘POLICE’…They had all the right. What’s the difference…

Give us the terrorist.. At least we will know.!
