Just so y’all are aware, last night I had to drive into another county to execute a pick up order and when I called that county’s Sheriff’s Department for help they were nice enough to send me THE absolute hottest and gayest female deputy they had (which I felt was the least they could do considering how deep into rural Alabama I had to drive), but I swear she was maybe 5ft tall and built like she could easily benchpress me and she had all these tattoos on her arms and gauges in her ears and was basically the picture perfect gay stereotype we have for policewomen and when I shared with my client that I played college softball and volleyball, the hot deputy who was standing by the door (like I told her to do *sighs* she listens so well) piped up in her Jane Rizzoli-esque voice, “I played softball in college, too!” and in my head I was like, I know you did sweetie lol, then we made sustained eye contact and I nearly cried

Things will be even more delayed than I had planned on!

Got a call.  Stacy is out of water.  Lives WAY out, making my place look like suburbs.  Her ex boyfriend, who was out on bond (see ex), showed up at her place and stole her truck. 

He tried to run from police.  They put out a spike strip to stop him.  Her truck is stuck in the Freeway median with two flat front tires!  At least the nice policelady returned Stacy her keys.

So, instead of writing, I will be hauling water on credit for her.  Then we will drop my trailer at my place and go to see about getting spares on her front wheels and getting her truck to safety.  

It is going to be a crazy day.  And my head is still stuffy.

You’ll Blow Us All Away, Someday, Someday

On that hot summer day, in the forest of people gathered in the Ninety Ninth precinct, Camilia Santiago’s heart swells with pride as rapturous applause thunders around the room. The woman entering it looks radiant in her new uniform, with it’s shining badges. But her brilliant smile could always light up a room, regardless of the circumstances. Her little girl is the youngest Captain in the history of the NYPD. She thinks back to the shy child who used to sit alone with her books and crossword puzzles and back to the strong, accomplished woman now standing tall in front of her. She couldn’t be prouder.

Then her gaze wanders over to her son in law, who was currently hugging his wife. Amy has always had enough strength of her own, but at the same time, she’s so lucky to have such a loving and supportive partner. As much as she loves her, Amy seems to spend her life uptight and straight laced, with all of her anxieties pressing down on her to a slightly worrying extent – someone as goofy and fun as Jake is a perfect match for her.

She thinks back to the first time she heard her daughter mention a name that would become so significant in later years, so long ago, in passing when talking about a case. Even in such mundane circumstances, Camila could hear the admiration already in her voice. Mentions of Jake only became more frequent over the years – Amy seemed to talk about his brilliant detective skills as much as she complained about his annoying habits. They heard about everyone inthe precinct of course, but by the time Amy was approaching her seventh year atthe Nine-Nine, no one was mentioned as much as him. Camila had never met this boy, but she wasn’t a fool and she knew her daughter like no one else did. Which is why she was surprised when Amy brought home the rather boring Teddy. She privately thought that they were too much alike and she knew that Victor shared that view. But she was happy that, for the moment, Amy was happy.                

Victor didn’t seem to notice Amy’s feelings for Jake, but Camila had been rooting for them for years. Her hopes were increased when she heard about Amy’s (rather messy) break up with Teddy. When Amy shyly told her over the phone that her and Jake were seeing each other, she privately recreated one of her daughters ‘dork dances’, as Jake apparently referred to them.

She saw the strength of their love blossom over the years, their strong roots remaining firm in spite of the lightning crashing down on them. Her heart shattered at their separations, but glowed later on, when Victor told her about Jake’s phone call. It goes without saying that she cried at the video of their wedding taken by one of the officers present. And when meeting each of their beautiful children, her grandchildren. She looks at them now too, 3 year old Livvy excited for her mommy becoming ‘head policelady’, whilst one year old twins Ray and Max are completely oblivious to her achievement, being far too young to understand what’s happening around them.

Her and Victor walk over to embrace their daughter and Camila also gives Jake a warm hug. He’s family, after all.

LR Appreciation Week - Day 3

Okay so, I know it says favourite secondary character BUT, I wanna go with this lovely lady okay, mainly bc HOT DAMN, also I love her voice. So, some HCs about this policelady bc we know jack shit about her:

Managed to set the kitchen on fire making salad. Her wife was both impressed and Done ™, and sorted it out in like 2 seconds

Cried watching Dumbo, only her wife knows and has sworn not to tell a soul, doesn’t mean she doesn’t tease her tho

Does paperwork while her wife watches various anime, as such she knows random facts about random ones but can’t remember which go with which

Has a pretty big extended family but is an only child

Doesn’t understand the concept of cutting down on caffeine. Crime doesn’t sleep and neither does she

And on that note, refuses to have days off if she’s sick. Cold what cold?

Wanted to be a lorry driver when she grew up but turns out she can’t drive anything bigger than a cruiser so that was out

So I get into work today and I hear that apparently someone left a LOADED GUN in our breakfast room. It was aparently ready to be fired. Thank god it was found by a marine and not one of the many young children we have at the inn currently, but the owner of the gun turned out to be a retired cop with a permit to carry. He toted his loaded gun around in his POCKET, not even in a goddamn HOLSTER and it fucking FELL OUT.

I am fucking livid. A retired cop is the last person who should have a shitty grasp on gun safety, and yet he keeps it loaded and in his fucking pocket. Even as I type this, a couple of girls that aren't even teenagers yet went upstairs to their room here. What if one of them had found it? We called in the police, and apprently when the policelady was like "you... you know there was a bullet in the chamber" all incredulously the guy said he knew and that's how he carried it.

That fucking bastard. And apparently nothing is even going to happen! Totally fucking legal to woopsie-daisy your loaded gun in a common area with kids. Won’t even have his liscense revoked. Bastard.
