District 9: Hansen's Hope (Fan Fiction) - 1: Hansen's Residence-11:00PM (on Wattpad) Based on the Oscar-nominated film District 9, J.A. Flynn takes you to an alternative story set in the same universe. Hansen, a progressive man living in South Africa is under the iron fist of his father, a right-wing tyrant who enjoys exploiting the aliens known as 'prawns' in the slums of District 9. Going against his father's wishes, Hansen not only attempts to help these poor creatures, but finds an unlikely ally...

Hi, I'm looking for a District 9 fanfic. I've read it on livejournal around 2014. It was a slash one.
Here's what I remember: Wikus was still human in this fic and he was attracted to prawns. Chris was prejudiced against humans so he told Wikus he had to "prove" he's into him. At some point Chris was surprised by his lack of inhibitions and told Wikus he doesn't have to do anything he doesn't want to do.
I know it was a long time ago, but maybe someone remembers it... If you do, please comment on this post, dm me or anything ^^ I'll be 4ever grateful!!

random memory while i wait for substance painter to boot up -- when i first started meshing like 12 years ago at this point, it started out with me messing around with models other people made because i wanted to be my meow meows on second life -- i didn't really understand how to do anything in blender and i didn't know what surface normals were so i subdivided the model i was editing to like a million polys so it kind of looked smooth but if you zoomed in it was very clearly like 10's of thousands of tiny flat shaded polys
i then proceeded to rig, upload, and wear it, to which someone saw it and was like "bro wtf"........... 😭 i think about it still to this day
#yknow in honor of this event i should model my own version of the meow meow in question and make it into a s4 mod#the poleepkwa (“prawn”) from district 9

In 1982, a poleepkwa colonization vessel found itself disabled within Earth's atmosphere. Thousands of aliens became part of the South African population, though xenophobia kept them separate from humans in many ways. More than 500 years later, Earth is embroiled in the Covenant war with a coalition of alien worlds. When it's discovered that the poleepkwa homeworld has also joined the Covenant, the alien population of Earth has to deal with increased prejudice and accusations of disloyalty.
Prologue
Now to everyone’s surprise, the ship didn’t come to a stop over Manhattan, or Washington, or Chicago, but instead coasted to a halt directly over the city of Johannesburg. The doors didn’t open for three months. It just hovered there, nobody could get in.”
— Grey Bradnam, UKNR Chief Correspondent, speaking of the arrival of the poleepkwa mother ship to Earth in 1982
~~~
9 February 2550 Battle of Jannat Eta Cassiopeiae UNSC Strident
The rush of the pods to the surface of a planet during a battle always brought tension, although ODST troops had a way of taking that tension and building it into a frenzy of anticipation and excitement. It was a bit unusual for the ODSTs to be traveling in the troop pods instead of their individual drop pods, but as far as Henry Reynolds was concerned, this was the best mission he had ever been on. It was his first as a full ODST—no longer a rookie, he was not looked down upon as a newbie, and he was not looked at any differently for his non-human status.
At least, not by many. It was kind of strange, most of the ODSTs in his squad came from other continents on Earth, or from colony worlds, and those who did accepted him without a second thought. He was a fully-trained member of the UNSC, he had passed the rigorous standards that it took to gain admittance to the prestigious special forces group. But Pieter Koorsen was over there, giving him that look again. That look that burned steadily, accusingly, out from under his visor. Henry already had his specially-designed helmet on—he had a suit of armor that had been engineered to fit his unique physiology as the first poleepkwa ODST. (One day, Henry had no doubt, more and more poleepkwa would see fit to join the armed forces and armor would not have to be specially requisitioned for them. It would be stocked as commonly as armor for human troops.) But he did not think that Piet or anyone else could tell that he was looking back.
“Hey, Reynolds,” came a voice over a private COM. Henry turned his head slightly. The speaker was Jin Morimoto, a personal friend and the squad’s sergeant, who was seated next to him. “Don’t worry about Koorsen. Don’t even bother to look at him. He doesn’t deserve your attention. You know he’s a fucking specieist. He can’t even be bothered to dislike you for who you really are.”
One of the things that stays the same in Miles to go before I sleep and History Doesn't Repeat is Micha going to an alien doctor and being injected with a modified version of the black fluid from the film.
The general gist of it is that someone attempted to recreate the fuel the Poleepkwa use, as so little is needed to power massive ships, but that stuff only works for poleepkwa tech due to the DNA lock mechanism, which makes it functionally useless for anything else. I think either before or during the events of District 9, there was a fuel crisis of some sort, and that meant a lot of planets were looking for something that was as efficient as the poleepkwa's fuel, minus the DNA lock.
There were many attempts to reverse engineer the fluid. No one really managed it, and the closest anyone ever got was a liquid that kept the mutagenic properties of the original, but whose response to being used as fuel was to violently explode. These old research bases all had to go into quarantine, and they're all still under lockdown during Miles to go before I sleep, because the substance created wasn't picky about what it mutated, and no one wanted to deal with whatever Resident Evil level of bullshit those facilities had become.
How the alien doctor even got access to some would either be explained by the doctor having worked at one facility before it was shut down and managing to smuggle some of the substance out, or by deals with Nova which involved Nova going in and taking samples for the doctor. Regardless of which option I decide on, Nova and the doctor have done a lot of illict deals over the years, and the doctor is probably the closest thing Nova has to a friend.
Over the years, the doctor has tweaked the substance a bit, although their aim isn't to make a fuel anymore, so much as they want to investiage the properties of the substance. It doesn't mutate non-poleepkwa into poleepkwa anymore, though it does give the subjects some poleepkwa characteristics. Some people end up getting mutated with things inside their bodies e.g. maggots, fungus, ect.
Which means Micha willingly letting Dr Definitely Does Not Have A Medical Licence inject them with it is a monumentally bad idea. Unfortunately for Micha, they didn't have much in the way of options.
It kinda works out for Micha in the end, not without cost though. And not without horrifying their family.
