I'm really conflicted about Polarthon next week >_<

I know I'm participating. I have like 10 books checked out (or picked from my collection) for a 7 day readathon lol. And my first prompt spin was "Polar Fantasy."

But.

I can't decide if I want to do 7 total spins in advance, or spin as I go. I should be fine either way, because there's only 1 prompt that I only have 1 book for. (But I have tons of options if I choose something that isn't a polar fantasy for that one.) All the other prompts will fit at least 3 books I have ready, and that's just counting the polar/polar fantasy ones.

But the anticipation and not knowing is getting to me like when I was a little kid and someone got me a gift for a holiday and taunted me about it for days or weeks before giving it to me.

But also I want to be spontaneous, and not go into this readathon with a set TBR list/number of books to read, because that will add pressure I don't want.

Ok... I think I've talked myself into spinning as I go... probably...

The last two books that I was meant to read for the #Polarthon reading challenge hosted by @jadeyraereads were The Polar Bear Explorer's Club by Alex Bell (from The Big Book Box subscription box) and Frostheart by Jamie Littler (from ChapterOne Books). I completed the first book and am definitely going to continue with the series at some point. The second book however was a fail. I am not too upset though because many of my selections covered more than one prompt. I was meant to read Frostheart for #Believathon at the end of last year but never did because the book arrived too late. I didn't want to rush it during the challenge but will definitely be reading it before the release of the sequel Escape from Aurora in October 2020 as Goodreads informs me. . . . . The cute polar bear is from the We Bare Bears collection at Miniso and looked very appropriate for both Valentine's day and Polarthon. My second book for the Polarthon reading challenge hosted by @jadeyraereads is The Ice Monster by David Walliams. I chose it for the task "A Furry Friend" but it works for all five tasks. The book is about a little girl called Elsie who lives in a home for unwanted children in London during Queen Victoria's reign. It describes her meeting a wooly mammoth and going on an adventure from London to the Arctic Pole with the mammoth and a motley group of friends. The audiobook has been narrated by a superb cast of voice actors including two of my favourites, Jane Horrocks and Miriam Margoyles, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The book has a very interesting font layout, and that along with illustrations by Tony Ross helps to enhance the reading experience. . Next book: A Shiver of Snow and Ice by Lisa Lueddecke . I am thrilled to be taking part in my first reading challenge of 2020 - Polarthon hosted by @jadeyraereads. I have chosen 5 books and am keeping my fingers crossed that I will be able to read all of them before the challenge ends. (I accidentally interchanged two of the prompts when I was pasting the headings on the page - "A Furry Friend" should be where "Snowy Setting" is and vice versa.)
