Lady of Hay
One of my fave books of 2023 so far
This was another book purchase inspired by my love of history. It’s also been sitting on my bookshelf since 2017 when I got back from a trip to England and Scotland. Part of my vow for 2023 was to not only buy the books that make me happy, but to get through some of my very long physical and ebook TBR (to be read) list. Polarthon turned out to be the perfect motivation because even though there…

I had such a great time talking part in Polarthon last week!
Polar fantasy really isn’t “my” genre but I decided to dive into one of Jade’s favourites - Even the Darkest Stars by Heather Fawcett. ⭐️⭐️
I also re-read a classic - The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S Lewis ⭐️⭐️⭐️
And finally I read the new Disney story of Rebel Rose - what happens when the Beast’s curse is broken? ⭐️⭐️

#Polarthon | TBR | February | 2021
Creator: Jadeyraereads Date: 1st – 7th February I’ve linked the announcement video above if you want all the information to participate. This year is split into Teams. I decided to go with Team Polar Bear. I felt like the prompts fit books I had/ could borrow to best. I actually don’t think I will manage to complete every prompt. But I will try. I do have access to audiobooks for two of these…

February 2021 Readathons | 6 readathons for all tastes 📚
📚 February 2021 Readathons | 6 readathons for all tastes 📚 If you're looking for some readathons for February, check out #BlackLitChallenge, #Polarthon, #demonathon #historathon, #Waywardathon, and #woodysroundup! #BookBlogger #Readathon
Can you believe we’re already entering the second month of 2021? I would have liked to say this year started better than 2020, but it’s January, and here in Portugal, we’re on a full lockdown. I don’t know when I’ll go back to Lisbon to attend university because we’re strictly on online classes indefinitely. Still, if you want February to be a good reading month, check out some of these February…

The last two books that I was meant to read for the #Polarthon reading challenge hosted by @jadeyraereads were The Polar Bear Explorer's Club by Alex Bell (from The Big Book Box subscription box) and Frostheart by Jamie Littler (from ChapterOne Books). I completed the first book and am definitely going to continue with the series at some point. The second book however was a fail. I am not too upset though because many of my selections covered more than one prompt. I was meant to read Frostheart for #Believathon at the end of last year but never did because the book arrived too late. I didn't want to rush it during the challenge but will definitely be reading it before the release of the sequel Escape from Aurora in October 2020 as Goodreads informs me. . . . . The cute polar bear is from the We Bare Bears collection at Miniso and looked very appropriate for both Valentine's day and Polarthon. In case you wish to search for it, it is the We Bare Bears Festival Series Plush Toy (Ice Bear). . . . . #preetisunaina #bookworm #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #booklover #lovereading #instareads #bookcommunity #instabook #igreads #readersofinstagram #bibliophile #readingchallenge #tbr #readinglist #polarthon2020 #miniso #ThePolarBearExplorersClub #AlexBell #Frostheart #JamieLittler #TheBigBookBox #ChapterOneBooks #PolarFantasy #SnowySetting #RedmiNote8Pro https://www.instagram.com/p/B8yBG5yJgDq/?igshid=1flqy88j16mnz

Ayesha at Last by Uzma Jalaluddin is a modern retelling of the classic Austen novel Pride and Prejudice. Set in an Indian-Muslim neighborhood of Toronto, Canada, the story follows our leads Ayesha and Khalid as they navigate romance despite personal misgivings. I adored this novel and gave it a 5 star review that you can check out on my book blog (link in bio)! You can also read an excerpt of my review below. Ayesha at Last covers my first prompt for twitter's Polarthon (a retelling) AND for the #fortunetellerreadathon here on bookstagram! I'm hitting the prompt "Written in the Stars" with this one. It also ticks the box for the #readingwomenchallenge 2020 as a feel good or happy read! REVIEW This was a wonderful and absorbing read. I thoroughly enjoyed it from the very beginning, and I loved the way the characters grew. I enjoyed the changes the author made to the Pride and Prejudice plot, and at no point did anything feel too overdone. I also enjoyed that the story didn't feel the need to shoehorn in anything from the original novel that wouldn't have fit naturally into this one. Strong choices were made and are reflected by the wonderful story telling skills displayed in this excellent narrative. The characters are delightful, the plot genuinely exciting, and the romance clear and loving. All in all, I think this is the best modern update to P&P that I've seen/read! . . . #books #bookstagram #bookblog #bookblogger #bookreview #igbooks #igreads #AyeshaAtLast #PrideandPrejudice #JaneAusten #bookcover #booklover #bookworm #bibliophile #polarthon #amreading

Polarthon 2020 TBR
There’s a readathon coming up this week that sounds awesome: the Polarthon! This was created by Jade from jadeyraereads. Because of her, I’ve not only found a bunch of amazing books recently but I’ve also discovered the genre of polar fantasy. The Polarthon sounds absolutely perfect for getting started in this genre and I can’t wait to begin!
The way your TBR is created is by deciding what path…
