I never realized how much I relate to Trip from Pokemon until recently. I say this because before I watched BW, Trip sounded like no one special to me, like I thought that I wouldn't become a fan of him. But... look at me now.

Like Trip, I have dirty blonde hair (it's actually close to the same length as Trip's), I am reserved and introverted in public, and I like taking a lot of pictures wherever I am like I am documenting my journey lol.

But seriously, Trip deserves more appreciation. I actually would've loved to see him interact more with characters like Georgia and Burgundy because that dynamic has a lot of potential to be entertaining and interesting with the 3 sore losers (affectionate) palling around together haha. I actually read this chapter of a fanfiction by @owls-den a couple days ago where those exact characters are interacting with each other and it's one of the most entertaining pieces of work I have ever read!!

Finally, I am sick and tired of people saying that Trip is a Paul knock-off and calling him "discount Paul" instead of his actual name. 😤 There, I said it.

I know I've already reblogged this but I want to say this,

why are some of these haters only targeting the BW series for having unlikable side characters with bad traits!! From my observations, BW is not the only season of Pokemon to have side characters with toxic traits. Take a look at the DP series, a good portion of the DP cast have unlikable traits, ie Paul, Ursula, and to an extent Conway and to an even bigger extent, Barry. Also in the AG series, we have Harley who I think in terms of morality is worse than all of the BW side characters (I adore Harley, I'm just making a point <3).

My point is, it seems like BW's side characters and even main characters are treated extra harshly by fans for their unlikable traits.

Paul abandoned his Chimchar for it being not strong enough in his eyes and put him through very harsh training, But he was excused by both fans and other characters in the show with the idea "It's just his own way of training."

And then we have Trip whom had his every breath despised by fans and while he is not the nicest nor most likeable character (I still love him though <3) He is a SAINT compared to Paul IMHO.

So, yes while the side characters in BW do have bad traits that can be aggravating, fans should remember that BW is not the only series with unlikeable side characters. I know this sounds biased since I am a MASSIVE fan of the BW team. but I think it's unfair both to me and other BW fans that our favorite characters are the only ones being targeted for unlikable traits.

This is coming from a massive Burgundy fan btw.

Heh...I lurked through some posts that I could locate under 'trainer stephan' to see what was there. I came across an old post that said most of the rivals were unlikable for displaying toxic traits while Stephan (and also Luke) were the only normal ones.

I don't agree with said post but I know that the rivals are...a little weird, but that just makes them interesting. But everyone's entitled to their opinion.

Anyway, I'm just imagining Stephan just scooping up all his friends (Trip, Bianca, Burgundy, and Georgia) like a bunch of feral kittens and saying "They just need a little love and attention!" Then Burgundy starts chewing on his arm.

Best intentions I had best intentions to post a photo of one of the Arctic birds I encountered during my trip, but somehow, I got stuck on polar bears! My encounters were limited this trip. Despite a 14-day excursion, we only found this mother and single cub. She managed to stay in the area for two days before heading off for the Hudson Bay. A fresh den produced only a brief glance from the sow over a 3-day period. She and her cubs never emerged. That’s a lot of time spent standing in the cold for endless hours. But then that’s what it takes to find these giants on the tundra. It is possible to spend a two-week visit and not see a single bear. It is the chance that anyone venturing here, takes. Man do I wish I was on Tumblr back when The BW fandom was really large and active because right now, I feel like I'm carrying the fandom on my back right now since I'm like one of the few people who constantly posts about pokemon BW which I guess is a consequence of watching BW much later than most of the fandom.

Like, I see these old posts from 10 years ago and I just get kind of upset and jealous because I wasn't there when those posts were fresh and new, I feel like I'm kind of too wrapped up in the past.

I of course appreciate and love all the current BW fans on Tumblr, you guys are all great, I just wish I was with the BW fandom from the very beginning. I wish I was there to defend my favorite characters who were being hated on from the beginning. I wish I could've experienced it all from the beginning.

I am trying so hard to be grateful at what I have right now and I truly am, it is just hard sometimes. I see old blogs that almost always posted about BW anime content like how I do now and I just wonder how great it was for BW fans to see those blogs post new stuff about their hyperfixation. I am absolutely not attacking any blogs or users that are multifandom. In fact, I think I need to become more multifandom, and I have been trying to. It's just that anipoke BW is my hyperfixation right now and it's hard for me to obsess over anything else. It's hard for me to have hcs or write stories about non anipoke BW content.

These are just my thoughts that I wanted to get out of my system and please feel free to comment, like, share, and reblog. <3
