It is frustrating to see so many people try to rationalize Gaiman’s behaviour or full on accusing women of lying.
Some of it was consensual but that doesn’t excuse the actions that weren’t. The consent can be revoked at any moment of the act and should be respected by the partner. Forcing intercourse even after repeated refusal is rape.
And I understand the enjoyment of the work and trying to divorce it from the author. But that makes you a passive apologist. The author still benefits from your enjoyment.
Look at Polański and Allen. They are where they are today because previous generations still chose to enjoy their work.
The actors you love might not reprise their roles but they will come back in another work. The LGBTQ+ community will find support and representation with other creators.
Don’t support abusers.
That said don’t harass Gaiman in public spaces since he still has a small child, who will likely see it sooner or later.
