Bringing sparkles and happiness, we're looking at the latest type introduced to the series. The Fairy type. If this Pokemon hadn't changed type, it would have been my Normal type pick. However it got the type change and it made it infinitely more awesome than it was, giving it an array of resistances and an immunity and only gaining 2 weaknesses. The Togepi line is my absolute favourite in the Fairy type. Togepi always had that sweet charm about it, which is all thanks to the Anime and Misty's Togepi. It's just adorable and soon you start to see it becoming more powerful. Learning metronome fairly quickly. Togetic is just as adorable, it learns some interesting moves but it still isn't able to utilise them well. Now Togekiss, I was so happy when they introduced it in gen 4. I always felt the line wasn't complete. I did not expect it to turn into a big fluffy bird looking thing, but it did not disappoint. It's so adorable! As soon as I was able to, I got a Togepi on my team in Pearl and evolved it into Togekiss. It learns things like Extreme Speed and Aura Sphere, a move that only Lucario had at the time. Having gained the Fairy type it gets access to Dazzling Gleam and some other new moves. It's just an amazing Pokemon and I love it to bits. What is your favourite Fairy type family?

Grab your spades and dig, dig, dig. Today we're looking at the Ground type. For me, it is the Gible line. They are usually seen as more Dragon, but as they have the ground type throughout, they were the perfect choice. I absolutely love the concept that they are sand sharks, it is a cool and interesting idea rather than making it something else. As soon as I saw Gible, I knew I wanted it for my team. It's adorable, it has an awesome design, it doesn't learn much to help at the time you get it, but having access to Dragon rage early, makes it powerful. Gabite, has an incredible design and you begin to see where they are going with it, it has a darker colouration and it looks more shark like. Garchomp is an amazing Pokemon. It's design is incredible, it's powerful, fast, it looks menacing, it has scythes for hands. Just everything about it is incredible. There's the theory that Garchomp was meant to be an evolution of Sharpedo, having the same shaped head, a similar symbol and being based on a breed of shark.
