Pokemon Au: Does Jaune remember Keldeo and the promise. Does remember the Kyurem dreams? Imagine if he got Ptsd from Weiss freezing a grimm because Kyurem has the same color eyes as the grimm.

"Mr. Arc?"

"Huh, what?"

"Class is over, Mr. Arc,"

"Oh, I-"

"Class has been over, Mr. Arc," the doctor said, sipping from his mug, "is there something on your mind?"

"Uh..." Jaune scratched his cheek. "Kind of? I was just thinking about the legend in today's lesson. Something about it just... stuck with me."

"You mean the story of the Swords of Justice of Unova?"

"Yeah." Jaune shut the book in front of him. "Something about the four of them seemed to... I dunno, put me in a funk."

"Four? The textbook only mentions three, Mr. Arc."

"Oh!" Jaune furrowed his brow.

"You might have mistaken them from a story from another region, one where there were indeed four mentioned."

"Why wasn't there four mentioned in this textbook?"

"Why, indeed?" He sipped from his coffee.

"...This is a homework assignment, isn't it?"

"Excellent idea, Mr. Arc! I'm glad you thought of it." With that, the doctor turned away and swiftly returned to his desk.

Yaknow what? Here's a funky question; how would you ocs be if they weren't chosen?

Not that they wouldn't be protags or have legends (unless that's what you want to do lol) but just like normal pokemon world

Ooooooooh that's a good one.

Jin - probably still goes through their arc growing up, though no longer has this chip on their shoulders when it comes to being Chosen. Don't get me wrong, their relationship to Rayquaza is still pretty complicated, but given that there's no true bind, it's kinda easier for them to simply ignore it.

Kohaku - she's definitely the one of the few that took being Chosen well, so her not being Chosen wouldn't really change her outlook on life really.

Kenji - On one end, being Chosen made him feel like he really had to exceed imaginary expectations, something he was already struggling with. So not being Chosen would kinda relieve him of some stress in that sense. On the other end, being Chosen kinda gave Kenji a comfort that not anyone could give him. Someone to talk to when he felt like he shouldn't with his friends. Without Ho-Oh having that bond of a Chosen and Legendary, things feel more hollow. Yes, Ho-Oh is still there and still tries to comfort Kenji, but it's not completely the same, you know?

Aiko - Hmmmm. Aiko is still someone I'm reworking a bit, so it's hard to say. Maybe she just. Doesn't get the courage to stick it to Silver. Heck, maybe Silver ends up being the one that goes after Lugia instead of her. Aiko's personality isn't based on Lugia of course, but not being the trainer with a "soul like silver" might come to play here. Though all of that is just a guess, I really need to figure Aiko out lol.

Danica - Her eeriness is almost always the same, but her childhood is much more lonely I think. I'm going with the idea of Danica not being Chosen = Giratina never coming to her as her "imaginary friend". Of course, she had Barry, but I imagine Danica is more distant than she already is in canon.

Kiran- Not a Chosen lol. I think his powers would stay the same bc Sakura isn't a Chosen either. Whoops!

Alexis- Woooooooooh boy. BW would still be the same I think. But there's no. Sense of someone looking down at Alexis all the time. Like something is calling to him and he just can't figure out what. His journey is still a nuzlocke. It still sucks. He still runs away with Zekrom. After he returns, Zekrom would.... honestly just leave him given the path he was going. The main reason Zekrom stayed when he was a Chosen was bc 1) they had faith that Alexis would snap out of his awful funk and take care of himself and 2) Alexis was their Chosen. And while legendaries can Choose and Unchoose as they please, they can't help but just want Alexis to be The One. Zekrom is very optimistic in my au, if not a bit naive. Though without Alexis being Chosen, I think Zekrom is more inclined to listen to Reshiram and just leave ( or at least go back into it's ball form). Which. It wouldn't do great got Alexis mentally I think. Not great at all.

Elliot - Another hard one. She was passed down the Chosen title by N in this au. So honestly it's the same thing but she just doesn't get Chosen.

Eva - Another odd case for a Chosen. Kyurem knew it couldn't really. Survive with some sj ort of protection. So it Chose Eva. If Eva was never Chosen, she wouldn't have such complicated feelings towards the cold. Well. That's a lie. What happened in Opelucid City scarred her, but not being the Chosen of Kyurem would not have her in such a panic at the time.

Wayne - Maaaaan, Wayne not being the Chosen of Keldeo kinda implies that he hadn't fully found himself. I still think he grew as a character, and still catches Keldeo, but. Yeah, it's not the same.

Jude - I was going to say Jude fucking dies, but that seems to extreme lol. Jude has been repressing her aura for years, and while Lucario and Sylveon are skilled enough to help him manage it in the early days, Yveltal's aura helps our a lot. There could be a chance Jude would die so to their aura being so much, but protag powers say they live lol.

Dante - another one where he could have died but again that's probably too much. Honestly I'm not completely sure! Outside of like, moral support, I dunno how life would be without being a Chosen for him.

Ames- Nothing really changes outside of having to wear a specialized suit if wanting to go through ultra space. That and just not being that much of a night anymore lol.

Ray - Same as above( minus the night owl stuff)

Naomi - Well. For one, I don't think her father would be dead. Possibly. The whole reason she's a Chosen is bc her father's Curse Chosen status fell to her when he died. Can't be Chosen otherwise if that didn't happen so. There's still a chance the man could have died when she was young still, but there is no longer anything fogging her memory and the faces of the past. Not saying she remembers everything clearly but the unnatural fogginess in her head? Gone. If her dad was still alive, I think those two factors would have made Naomi just a bit more confident in herself. Not a lot, but just a bit more.

Carol- Nothing much changes I think. They don't have to accidentally touch someone and release their soul, so that's cool I guess. Carol got Chosen pretty late so. Yeah.

Luca- Again not 100% sure if he is gonna be a Chosen, but uuuuuh. If he wasn't, I don't think the story would have changed much lol.

R.B - Not a Chosen lmao, I know that now. I personally find that hilarious, and just wanna say that if no one is Chosen, that means R.B loses her " I'm the only normal human being next to these fucking demi gods of people" status. Then she would be losers like the rest of them ( affectionate).

AU Backstory Time!

So the backstory for my au is based on real events in my many, MANY years of playing pokemon. Other than in gen 1 where I I fed infinite Missingno Rare Candies to my pokemon(yes I’m that old, shut up) I’ve always had an aversion to using legendaries in my main team to beat the story. Usually, you never get them anyway until very late, and by that point I’ve already got a full team that I’m very attached to. This started to change somewhat in gen 4 with the events I’ll list out below:

- In HGSS I received the Event Arceus as one of the first event distributions I was actually able to get

- Even though you could catch Giratina in D/P, Platinum was not out yet so I decided to pick Giratina when Arceus asked you which of the trio you wanted to create

- Was very surprised that Giratina was legit LEVEL 1 instead of like lvl 70 or something

-Thought about how cool it would be to raise a legendary from lvl 1 and use it in a playthrough, but I had already beaten my HG file at that point and had no way of trading away my pokemon so I could start a new file

- Should mention I get VERY attached to my pokes and will transfer my teams and favorites up through every game I can

-Giratina gets boxed at lvl 1 for future games/playthrough

- SoonTM

- I buy Pokemon Platinum, Black and later Pokemon White 2(I wanted both Reshiram games for some reason) and continue to collect event pokemon

- Keldeo event releases after I’ve already beaten W2 once, and at that point I’m able to trade my pokes between games/transfer then up from old games.

- Why not do a legendary playthrough? Start a file, get Keldeo, and finally train my baby Giratina and a few other low level event legendaries

- Start game and get Keldeo, Giratina, Jirachi, and I think Mew and/or Victini? as fast as I can right after the first gym

- I love making up narratives in my head when playing, so at the Pledge Grove where Keldeo gains it’s Resolute Form I pledge that this will be the most Legendary Adventure EverTM

- Life and or college happens

- I barely play the file from that point on. Can’t remember if I ever beat the second gym or not

- Pokemon X and Y come out and I buy Y

- Why play an old game I already beat once again with overpowered legendaries when there is the New Hotness?

- Kalo is so unbalanced I legit raised 3 full teams of pokemon concurrently. I called them the Royal Kalosian Army

- Eventually transferred over old pokemon to Y, effectively killing off the whole Legendary AdventureTM idea for good

- Maybe I’ll do it for real at another point?

- Tragedy

- My 3DS with Pokemon Y and every single pokemon I had collected over the years up until that point gets stolen right as I’m getting ready to go home for Winter break. Never find the culprit

- I legit get SUPER depressed about this, so much so that I don’t even buy ORAS like I planned to until a few months before Sun and Moon come out

- It’s just not the sameTM

- Play Moon, Ultra Sun, and later Shield, with my love of pokemon slowly being restored

- Buy and play Legends Arceus before BDSP remakes because Sinnoh is actually my least favorite region and I’d rather see the new spin on it first

- Beat game, battle Volo, Giratina comes in pissed

- Oh hi mom, prepare for death. You broke your promise so I’ll break your face -Giratina probably

- My face when this headcanon sets up shop to live rent free in my head

- My face when I want to punch Volo in the face for calling my son a coward when I beat him

- My life when I now want to find a White 2 Rom and hack in Giratina and maybe Keldeo as my starters

- No, using the lvl 65+ Giratinas you can only get in post game areas won’t make this right.

- I must attack and dethrone god(gamefreak) and use roms to turn back time and set things right

- Not waiting 10 years for them to remake the second part of the gen 5 games when I just know they will only remake the original B/W and maybe do a Legends game with the full Kyurem given their track record

- I’m rambling at this point, so kudos to anyone who read all of this to understand my current brainrot

I randomly feel like posting what Pokemon I could see Aichi with in a Pokemon crossover/AU

OK, so some of these might seem a bit strange, but I’ll get into my reasons as I go along. Note that I’m going with fully evolved forms, but naturally this also applies to their earlier forms as well. This is in no particular order:

1. Aegislash: Naturally the sword is supposed to resemble the Blaster Blade that Ahmes wields. Also, I totally imagine the sword being possessed by a spirit that’s basically just Blaster Blade’s entire personality without actually being Blaster Blade. It would be Aichi’s starter, and watch over him and support him.

2. Gallade: Essentially a knight, fighting for justice and having good empathetic abilities. I also like the idea of Aichi having at least one Psychic type because of his PSY Qualia. Mega is a possibility, but I’m not sure.

3. Lycanroc (Dusk): Puppy! Aichi has always seemed to have a fondness for dogs, if you go with his dog mug and how many dogs/wolves he has in his decks. There’s also the fact that it’s implied that your bond with Lycanroc is very important in making sure they don’t go nuts (At least with Midnight Lycanroc). However, you may be wondering why I chose Dusk specifically instead of, say, Midday. Well, Dusk represents the harmony he attained in balancing his light and dark sides back at the end of Season 1 of the original series.

4. Escavalier: More knight imagery!

5. Espeon/Sylveon: I’m actually not sure which I see him using... Both feel like they’d be good for him because they both require friendship and bonds.

6. Mimikyu: Despite how scary it’s supposed to be, I can totally see him empathizing with its loneliness and actually offering unconditional friendship.

7. Delphox: More foxes, matches mages and such like Marron.

8. Absol: LOOK AT ITS HAIR SCYTHE. It’s Aichi as a Pokemon! But in reality, Aichi would probably feel bad for it being blamed for disasters, and would support and care about it even if no one else believes it.

9. Decidueye: I can imagine Aichi having it between his couple of owl-like cards and the fact that he has used some bow and arrow-wielding cards before.

10. Lucario: I can imagine him having it between the whole “dog” thing I mentioned before, and how it can feel auras and be rather in-tune with people.

11. Bisharp: More sword-theming. It’s also something of a leader, although it’s more of a “gang” leader rather than the type of leader Aichi is. It also symbolizes his time using Blaster Dark.

12. Togekiss: It symbolizes his happiness Vanguard brought him, and how it spreads it with others.

13. Jellicent: I’m not entirely sure about this one, but the kingly design of the male one is something I could imagine matching Aichi’s aesthetic. He really seems to be closely associated with knights, mages, royalty, and such in Royal Paladin.

14. Wooloo: Aichi is sheepish, and I’m sure he’d empathize with it.

15. Corviknight: Not entirely sure if Aichi would use it, but it has “knight” in the name, so I’ll shove it here just in case (Although I could TOTALLY see Ren with it).

Now, as for Legendaries I could see him being most fond of/connecting with (Not going to say all of them, just the ones I feel he’d have the greatest connection with [Since if I were to list all of the ones he felt a lot of sympathy for, I’d also be listing like Mewtwo or something, and it’d be too long of a list):

He’d be closest to Azelf out of the Lake Trio (Willpower).

He’d like all three of the Swords of Justice (Also Keldeo), and I’m not sure which he likes the most. I’ll say more about Keldeo under the “Mythical Pokemon” section.

I can see him with Xerneas, although some fanart I’ve seen of Season 4 Aichi with Yveltal also makes me feel like he’d have a connection with it as well.

I... am not sure about the Light Trio. I feel like there may be a small chance Solgaleo might speak to him, but I’m not sure.

And he would DEFINITELY have that link with Zacian and Zamazenta. I think he’d be more inclined towards Zacian (WINGAL), but he’d also be very closely in sync with Zamazenta because both of the legends are knightly.

Time for the Mythical Pokemon! Same idea as the Legendaries section!:

I could see Jirachi being one he is associated with because of his own wishes and dreams being granted through Vanguard. Oh, and he’s also a heavy-sleeper. :P

Arceus might mirror the idea of Harmonics Messiah supporting Aichi (However, it’d go to Ibuki after that).

I’m... not sure about Victini. It could be the AU thing he gets obsessed with instead of PSY Qualia since it supposedly always grants victory, and he values victory a lot. After he snaps out of it though, he stops using it like that, instead just having it as a friend. Of course, I wouldn’t write him actually having any Legendaries or Mythicals if I were to ever do something with any of this to begin with.

Keldeo is the big one he’d feel a connection with, I believe. I feel like their stories match up very well, Aichi would completely empathize with it being the weakest of the Swords of Justice, how it was once alone before being adopted by them,  and how it tries its hardest to grow stronger while also doing its best to the right thing and fight for justice.

I’m... not sure about Marshadow. It seems shy which I can sort of imagine Aichi getting along with, but at the same time it’s not his aesthetic. Although the idea of “copying” makes me wonder if it could be another PSY Qualia reference. I’m not entirely sure about this one though.

Anyway... These are the Pokemon I could see Aichi most interested in, wanting to use, befriending, empathizing with, etc. These are not necessarily all of them, and they are up for debate and reconsideration.

There’s also the fact that Sword and Shield (Along with any other future Pokemon games) could add more Pokemon for him to use.

Glitchy Red (Pokemon Creepy Pasta)- He was based off of many different piecemeal creepy pastas (Lost Silver, Pokemon Black, Strangled Red, Glitchy Red, small stories about the candle instead of flash, but used in a house it would burn it down, and the rope inside would make you hang yourself). Luka Cross (OC- No other affiliation)- She is a girl with the power to summon elementals. From fire and ice spirits, to even the goddess of the moon. Her goal is to gain the power of Elder Summoning. Aldo Omega is in this AU as the guardian of the Library of Summoners, and he is an Elder Summon.

Luka (TOME)- She is the little sister of Xirra. A different kind of virus, hers is a contact epidemic virus that spreads through touch. She has her hands covered at all times, and is very shy, but is almost second to none in hand to hand combat, being at least 30 time stronger than her just 4 foot stature would lead you to believe. she is also a lolita that wears extremely tall boots, and yet she is still very short... like just under 5 foot short. She also dates a giant dragon... and she sounds like Hinata from Naruto... she is an actual baby that is months old

My List on Legendaries & Mythicals’ Gender Preference

Here comes the list as mentioned before

I realize most of them are genderless...but apparently overseas they teach you in health class that sex and gender are two different words (which enlightened me somehow - word definitions are a charm) so I’m thinking that even though legendaries can’t produce offspring (except for Manaphy and Shaymin I remember) they still can be identified as he or she or it, right? It just depends on how the person perceives...

Or maybe this is a me thing. I hope I don’t offend anyone (been seeing pronouns on many people’s blog intros and I have no clue what they are or what they mean, if someone could please explain I would be delighted; I’m not very in tune with foreign culture or even my own culture ugh *the anxiety!!*)

The Lati@s and Heatran is not included in this since they already have genders.

Most of it is strangely based on childhood nostalgia. I thought I’d note my own preferences since I’ll be very likely to use pronouns in posts or writings and also because in my head that’s kinda what the gender of them are. 

*not referring to gijinkas* *I don’t do gijinka headcanons because I’m overly obsessed with the pokemon designs themselves so everything pokemon stays pokemon unless possession au related* *I should add this into my about page*

I don’t mind the “it”s but occasionally if someone comes up and uses, let’s say “she” for Kyogre, I do cringe a little at that. I’ll try to understand though.

Just rewatched the Keldeo Pokemon movie last night, and it’s got me wanting to find a rom of White 2 to play. Given GameFreak’s track record of only doing a remake of the first pair of games in a generation(and the third as a remake of the remake with Let’s Go Pikachu//Eevee), I think it’s safe to say we won’t see part 2 of the Gen 5 games for a looooooooooooooong time, unless they want to remake two separate games at once with different stories and characters, or make an original part 3. As much as I’d love to see a Legends game set in Unova, I think it would be criminal to tell only half of the original story and leave all of the Kyurem fusion shenanigans to a prequel game while pretending B2W2 don’t exist. 

B2W1 also holds a special place in my heart since it has something to do with the backstory of my Giratina Wayward Son Au. I might post a full outline of the backstory/real life events for the AU later today, just so I have the background stuff fleshed out and in order.
