Vash rocks on his heels, Eevee darting between his legs chasing his own tail as they wait.

Finally. Finally the 15 year old is ready to leave school and start the journey they've been waiting for, to explore and grow and do it all with his best friend by his side.

Vash has nothing but exciment for the wilds outside their hometown. No fear of the agressive pokemon that lie in wait. In fact, he'd made a promise to himself he'd protect Leanne on their journey together.

Even if his Eevee is half the size of her Growlithe. He's faster and tenacious. Maybe a little too much sometimes.

He rolls up the too long sleeves of the vibrant red jacket he'd been gifted in celebration of today, planting his hands on his hips as he finalyl spots the girl he'd been waiting for rushing over.

"Le, you were almost late, what happened?" He huffs with mock disapoinment, but it doesn't last long before he's fussing worse than his owm mother had over him.

"Do you have everything? Pack extras? Favourite snacks?"

alma’s team !!   it’s seemingly random combo, but i promise there’s an explanation for it djsjsjs

ursaring is alma’s partner ! she had him as a teddiursa when she was a child. liepard is p much this au’s equivalent of gremlin, alma’s stray cat. she got rhyhorn in her teens, on a dare from her older brother to try to catch the rhyhorn that was terrorizing the outskirts of their town in sinnoh. when she came back, triumphant and covered in dirt and blood, he freaked out. arcanine & venusaur were leo & bianca’s, and they went with her after the siblings’ deaths.

V’s Pokemon in order of acquisition: Honchkrow, shiny Liepard, Gengar, Ariados, Umbreon (Honchkrow can speak human, so just like Griffon it can interpret for V); technically they’re all his partners 

My AU’s more of a crossover, with the Pokemon universe bleeding into the DMC one, so V would keep his Pokemon mainly as pals. But they’re also used to smack demons around. He’s still a warlock in this, and he’s more than likely used sorcery to enable Honchkrow (or formerly Murkrow) to speak. Competitive battling might be a thing for other characters, but V’s very mellow about battling. He’d do it, mostly, out of necessity.

…I also plan on creating an AU set mainly in the Pokemon universe, but the details on that are to be decided (including the region he’d be from).

here’s liang’s team ! she is a pokemon rescuer / rehabilitator and works to defend pokemon species that are endangered. she specializes in electric/dragon types, and most of her pokemon are rescues !

her partner is her luxray. she’s had him since he was shinx; he was a little stray outside her house, and he eventually came to trust her and they’ve been together since. the zeraora she never actually caught ! she rescued them from a group of hunters and nursed them back to health, and they chose to stick with her afterwards. liang also once took care of a dratini colony that had to be relocated. when she was setting them back into the wild, one dratini was too attached to her to leave, and it eventually became her dragonair. she’s had her salamence since it was an egg, and it is now sort of an ambassador for pokemon that are misunderstood / feared. her espurr and her togekiss were also rescues that she just couldn’t part with.

     Kaede receives the incubator carefully, handling the bulky device with clear inexperience. This was her first time so much as seeing an egg, being so new to her journey. Her mom had recommended hatching her own pokemon -- something about a “bond from the beginning of time” -- so she had consulted a breeding service and signed up for their first available, random egg. She doesn’t even think to ask what it’s going to be, and when she does, Lily is already gone.

     Welp ... now, she just has to wait !

After leaving the Elite 4, Aoi Asahina found a more relaxed life training others how to swim without the use of their Pokemon. Her training regimens are known to be very difficult, but effective.

Hiyoko spends her time dancing with her Pokemon, all of which have been trained in traditional dances from Kanto’s oldest styles. She works with her family to keep these ancient traditions alive.

Mikan does not have a team in the traditional sense, as she doesn’t battle her Pokemon. She has a single Chansey that travels with her to help Pokemon and trainers in need. She resides in Kanto as well.

CARNIVINE.

Using its tentacles to lash itself to trees, it lies in wait for prey, luring it close with sweet-smelling drool.

Something about carnivine simply fascinates him.  Maybe it’s something about how they intricately braid their vines across branches to blend in with the foliage, or maybe it’s more to do with how the sweet scent of their phytotelmata that lures prey to its doom like a siren’s song.  Whatever the case may be, his carnivine would have been his very first POKéMON ━ thus, naturally the one who has been with him the longest.

BANETTE.

It's a stuffed toy that was thrown away and became possessed, ever searching for the one who threw it away so it can exact its revenge.

Aesthetic similarities aside, Shinguji’s interests lie with POKéMON whose very existence is tied to the human spirit.  Something being loved and loved and loved and abandoned is an unequivocally human experience  (one that feels a little too familiar, if he’d take a moment to be honest with himself.)  And that says nothing to the fact that he’d love to see what would happen if this poor abandoned doll ever reconvened with its previous owner.  What would revenge look like...?

YAMASK.

These Pokémon arose from the spirits of people interred in graves in past ages. Each retains memories of its former life.

Perhaps the most self-explanatory on the list.  If every human being got their happily every after, their spirit would successfully pass on to the afterlife.  That can’t be the case for everyone, unfortunately ━ and though Shinguji can recognize the tragedy of that, he’s also utterly fascinated by the notion of being transformed into a POKéMON upon passing.  Do they retain their memories?  Their personality?  Their interests, their dislikes?  Where does the human spirit end and the POKéMON spirit begin?  Are they more closely related than one would initially expect?  So many questions.

FROSLASS.

The soul of a woman lost on a snowy mountain possessed an icicle, becoming this Pokémon. The food it most relishes is the souls of men.

He looked at her, and she looked at him, and they recognized in each other a past spattered with blood and death, and more lives ended at their hands than anyone cared to count.  

SHEDINJA.

Shedinja's hard body doesn't move — not even a twitch. In fact, its body appears to be merely a hollow shell. It is believed that this Pokémon will steal the spirit of anyone peering into its hollow body from its back. 

Shinguji’s unique and recognizable method of murder  (a clean slice at the back of the neck, freeing the spirit to cross over without struggle)  was inspired by shedinja.  He thinks there is something paradoxically beautiful about the hollow husk of a POKéMON, entirely devoid of a soul — and a vicious, persuasive part of him wonders what would happen if someone were to lose their soul to the hole on its back.  Would the hollow husk suddenly bustle to life?  He’s ever so curious.

LITWICK.

Litwick shines a light that absorbs the life energy of people and Pokémon, which becomes the fuel that it burns.

His litwick attached itself to him on his travels, and hasn’t strayed from his side since.  Perhaps it’s because Shinguji’s dabbled with spirits to the point where it clings to him, like an unshakable second layer of skin.  Maybe the POKéMON just wants an easy meal  (even though Shinguji starves the poor thing, usually.  A human soul is worth so much more than just a fuel source!)  On the rare occasion that it does manage to catch a soul, Shinguji will watch its flame flicker for hours.

BONUS!

PHANTUMP.

These Pokémon are stumps possessed by the spirits of children who died in the forest. Their cries sound like eerie screams.

Wherever he wanders, innumerable phantump float in his wake.  Crying, wailing, not understanding — but flocking to him like moths to a flame.  ‘They seem to like you,’ a passerby says with a smile.  And Shinguji nods immodestly, and says: “they are dear friends of mine.”

“Taiyo! Where are you going?” Keigo yelped as his Espeon suddenly took off, apparently catching some kind of scent on the wind. It wasn't unusual for the pokemon to spend time outside walking along with his trainer, but to suddenly bolt away like that was concerning. 

“Hey, get back here! What are you-oh” 

He stumbled through some bushes into a clearing to find Taiyo...tumbling around with an Umbreon like it had known the pokemon for years. 

“Seriously? You had me worried because you wanted to make friends?” He sighed before looking up and noticing the darkly dressed man standing, also watching the pokemon. Was this the Umbreon’s trainer? 

“Hey, uh, sorry about him-” He tilted his head at the stranger, offering a smile. “He hasn’t got the best impulse control-Your Umbreon is beautiful by the way” It was true, the pokemon’s coat was practically sparkling, it was clear they were well-loved and cared for.

usually this is a meme but fuck that,  i’m stealing this from one of my other blogs so i guess i’m re   -   tagging myself.    anyway,    i’ve been lagging on writing up geralt’s pokemon au  /  team for awhile so    . .    lo and behold here we go we did it boys.  the   au itself   is effectively a side step version of his    modern au    but,    you know,    pokemon.    tl;dr:    geralt’s been alive since 1925 and wandering around doing witchery stuff as usual for people with his pokemon in tow helping him out and assisting him whenever he needs assistance getting rid of  monsters.    there comes a time where the wolf becomes worn out and  semi  -  retires   on his corvo bianco ranch as he occasionally goes out to help folks,    again with his pokemon in tow,    when necessary.    pokemon ages  ??   who knows and cares,  leave me and his pals alone   --------    now,  time to meet the team:

geralt’s pokemon partner    and    first pokemon is his mudsdale,    roach    with the moveset:  double kick,    heavy slam,    high horsepower and stomp.    he’s had her since she was itty bitty and a mudbray when he survived his trials at kaer morhen.    initially he had taken a shine to her prior to the trials and she to him    ;    always excited and trotting around the boy when he came to look over her.    geralt humored her always,  after surviving he and roach never really were apart when it came to going out of the stone walls of kaer morhen,    the little pokemon protective of its partner that she had come to trust.    once the wolf had left the school’s walls years later,  his little horse had become large and intimidating    ;    still gentle to him even though her temper had surged with her evolution.    as they went on in the world,    as the years went by,   they still stuck together through everything    ---    ever closer.    roach is hugely protective of her witcher and will    stomp you to death with her hooves    if you so much as threaten him.

tsareena,    nickname    petal    with the moveset:    stomp,    high jump kick,    power whip and solar beam.     all in all,    petal wouldn’t leave geralt alone.    one of the very last pokemon he gained on his team recently,    petal ran into geralt when she was her previous evolution,  steenee    -----    all due to the fact her little home had come under the attention of some humans.    a litwick had been causing a bit of a stir for them,    having sucked a few people’s life forms to dust which led humans to go searching for the pokemon to try and get rid of it.    geralt had been passing through and,    well,    ended up saving petal indirectly.    she was enamored and thankful for this friendly    (    yet kinda scary    !!    )    man who helped her and just   . .   followed him.    geralt’s heart couldn’t keep ignoring her for long and thus let her stick around,   the little pokemon doing her best to impress him and doing so    ;  leveling herself as she did and eventually,    when she gained stomp,  she evolved into tsarenna.    she’s a tomboyish little thing with an attitude now but never ungrateful for the help given to her.    she’ll also stomp you to death with her leetle feet.    during hunts she’s usually quick to assist.

absol,    nickname    sol    with the moveset:    dark pulse,    bite,    night slash and taunt.  geralt’s second pokemon was sol,    an absol he had found during one of the heavier winters in the kaedwin mountains.    she was wounded after a human had harmed it in one of its descents down the mountain to warn of impending disaster.    geralt had come across her in the snow,   bleeding out from the injury and managed to calm her down enough to get her out of the cold.    the disaster had been an avalanche,    no one getting hurt barring the man that had left the pokemon to die in the snow.    alas,    she survived.    in the small cave out of the heavy storm,  roach,    sol and geralt rode it out.    the wolf making sure the absol would survive her wounds with the resources he did have on hand and once it was over the dark pokemon stuck by his side.    with the myth that the pokemon brings disaster    ---    there’s a minor irony of it sticking around the witcher,    becoming his partner    ;    as both are detested and both are feared because of what and who they are.    sol detests fighting lest she can help it,    as it does hurt her to strain herself.  geralt doesn’t use her much on hunts but does bring her along    (    or she just trails behind anyway    ). 

sylveon,    nickname    bow    with the moveset:    disarming voice,    moonblast,    quick attack and psych up.    another one of the recent ones,    however a relatively long lasting one as well.    bow was given to geralt as a   thank you   from dandelion,  initially as an eevee.    the small thing took a shine to geralt and geralt took a shine to the little pokemon who enjoyed his space as well as sol’s.    he wasn’t a fan of staying in his pokeball whenever geralt was    uncomfortable    with a situation or when the wolf was highly upset over something.    effectively the eevee became a sort of    .  .    comfort pokemon for geralt.  when it came down to evolving,    geralt wanted to try for an  umbreon    but got bamboozled when bow evolved into a    sylveon    due to amount of friendship and love bow had for his trainer.    she likes to sit on geralt’s shoulder,    gently holding on with her ribbons that do well to settle him down if he’s ever overwhelmed or upset,    thus being the resident comfort pokemon if anything goes awry.    he’s equally protective of geralt and the friends he has,    rather bouncy and excitable as well.    his presence itself stumps humans and their assumption that witcher’s don’t feel    .  .    considering the required affection and loving on needed for sylveon to    .  .    be.

zebstrika,    nickname    z    (    yes how original     )    with the moveset:    wild charge,    discharge,    thrash and shockwave.    mad.    just    .  .    mad.    z doesn’t like humans very much,    only putting up with those that geralt is close to but irritable enough to stomp and make it known that it doesn’t want many near him.    z found geralt first,    or rather     roach    found the pokemon first,    leading geralt to the zebstrika when upon roaming had found him caught in a man    -    made trap.    after nearly an hour and a half of calming z down and with some assistance from roach just    snorting    and stomping in frustration   . .    geralt was able to get close enough to remove the trap.    z,    at first,    ran off,    only to follow them from a safe distance through the forest before coming to steal a few of the apples geralt had in saddlebags overnight.   begrudging thanks became true once geralt had gained the zebstrika’s trust.    not entirely    “    tame    “    z will still lash out sometimes if unsure of a situation but    will    come to geralt’s aid when its required    .  .   and for pets.

mightyena,    nickname    wulf    with the moveset:    suckerpunch,    crunch,    scary face and bite.    wulf was geralt’s third pokemon he gained,    having gained its trust over a period of a year after its habitat had been uprooted.     initially wary of geralt she came to trust him mostly by how geralt would bring it food when it couldn’t find any due to the uprooted home it came from.    she grew attached and after a time began to follow him out whenever he left.    with geralt’s experience wulf became loyal and ready to defend and fight when needed.  she’s cozy to be within and outside her pokeball but,    unsurprisingly,  has a grand ol time outside of it    ;    being chaotic and tomboyish. 

+   a cubone.    they’re new.    geralt found it while it was crying and it just pretty much  also  won’t leave him alone now.    it doesn’t fight.  just hangs out and is a cute nuisance.  its name is    buttercup.

     HEY! Pokemon AU time!

     Marik works as his own little GROUP, going around stealing rare Pokemon and either selling them or keeping them. He’s rather unknown save for people knowing that somebody goes around stealing rare Pokemon.

     His team consists of Cofagrigus ( his ‘starter’ ) Tyranitar, Gengar, Drapion, Corviknight, and Houndoom. There are others he owns, including a Giratina and Moltres that are reserved for strong opponents. There’s no particular reason why he does such things, he just enjoys being a menace to society.      Other Pokemon he owns include a shiny Dragagle, Scolipede, Honchkrow, Arbok, Dragapult, Dusknoir, and Absol. There are others but they are usually sold off.       Primarily he works alongside Tozokou ( @collectionofethics​ ) to steal and sell these Pokemon in the black market and steal them from trainers.
