Hades by reset do u mean returning to jubilife town and back? Because otherwise the outbreak will always be the same. Make sure to disable auto save and then manually save incase the outbreak disappears. I wish u luck either way!
hahahahah no I mean that I save before leaving Jubilife, have autosave off, run through the outbreak catching all but one of the Pokemon, leave, come back, see if one of the new four is shiny, leave, come back, see if one of the NEW new four is shiny, then force close my game and redo that all over again.
You can only leave and come back twice (sometimes only once) because after twice it has a very high chance of the outbreak despawning. Sometimes leaving the first or second time will cause the outbreak to change to a different Pokemon so if you want to chain outbreak farm you can... use this method to do that I guess.
PSA doing that catch all but one, leave, come back part will almost always have an alpha spawned as one of the new four outbreak Pokemon if you want an alpha Pokemon of something rare. (It might be 100% rate but it was 8 hours of farming and I'm not going to commit lmao)
ETA: I want to clarify that I got my shiny! He's baby I named him Magnus.

On scope
So in my last post I mentioned scope, which is a gamedev term to mean how big your game is and, more specifically, keeping it from getting out of control. Not putting too much work on your plate, basically.
This is especially important for an amateur developer who is just starting to get into game development. Like me!
I’ve heard this a lot, but this video I watched recently helps sum it up really well. In that video they mention the concept of a “minimum viable product”. Basically, if you cut away everything that isn’t necessary, what does that look like? And is it fun?
Another video I watched related it to drawing. When you’re drawing, you do a sketch to give you an idea of the final picture, work out anatomy issues, etc. The minimum viable product is the “sketch” of your game.
So what does my sketch look like?
Here’s my “Core Features” list, or what I believe is the simplest form of this game in a “complete state”. This is a little more indepth than the video’s proposed “minimum viable product” - the example given was Mario jumping on a map with pits. No enemies, no powerups. This is more like Mario jumping on a map with pits and enemies and the occasional platform or mushroom.
To simplify it further would probably be “you have a daughter, and you can raise or lower her stats through picking between three jobs, and you can reduce her stress by resting.”
What I found really helpful was to add questions to every item. What would these actually look like? This got me thinking about the actual implementation.
(To be very clear about point 4, this was written when I was envisioning it more as making homunculi, where you could potentially create bespoke assistants for the needs of folks in town. You can’t sell kids in my game.)
Anything that did NOT feel essential was moved to a separate list. Things like missions, randomization, talking to the girls, a New Game+ system, that sort of thing. Nice to have, but ultimately unnecessary.
That said, I also created this:
This is “Core QOL”. QOL stands for “quality of life”, meaning optional features that make a game smoother and easier to play - think of an autosave system, being able to auto-sort items in an inventory, etc. Features that, while technically unnecessary, I consider to be a priority.
For example, you don’t NEED to be able to give your daughters custom names. I could just make it so that your daughters’ names are randomized. Technically speaking, it’s an optional feature!
But there’s something really special about custom names, I think. Sentimentality is what separates these games from being just a series of bars you watch go up and down. You’re forming an emotional bond with a character that you’re taking a parental role over, and it helps you feel more invested in the gameplay.
It might seem a little silly, but here’s an example of that sentimentality in action: I always name my Pokemon. I feel a lot more connected to what’s going on when I’m rooting for “WIDE LOAD” instead of “Parasect”. Suddenly, it’s not just a soulless collection of pixels that attacks when I pick the option - it’s my baby boy, WIDE LOAD, who I risked life and limb to catch even if he was 20 levels above me at the time.
And I love him so, so much.
Getting back to my list, you can see there’s a lot of “you can view the stats whenever”. Let me give some examples.
In Princess Maker 2, doing an activity will increase some stats and decrease others (e.g. working on a farm, working in a kitchen). It will not tell you which ones beforehand - you have to try them out and see. Sometimes it’s easy to guess (Farming increases strength and constitution), sometimes it’s not (Cooking decreases combat skill??). It’s trial and error.
This means that you have to write down or memorize what does what, which can be frustrating. I don’t mind the first attempt at something not giving you the info, but it should “unlock” the info so that subsequent attempts tell you exactly what stats an activity raises and lowers.
Games like Cute Bite improve upon this by telling you what stats will be increased by a job or study activity, but they don’t tell you what stat is decreased by a given job. The omission seems to be intentional, probably to make the gameplay more interesting, but I still dislike it.
Perhaps the “oops I forgot that decreases Etiquette, oh no!” is compelling gameplay for your typical gamer, but as someone with memory issues and ADHD, it just means I have to take notes. It would be cool if the game did that for me instead of having to have Notepad open while I play it.
It’s not like I want the game to play itself, and you’ll have to write down certain things anyway, like “having x stat be 100 and y stat be 150 seems to be the requirement for this character to appear” - but these are such basic things you interact with so routinely that I don’t believe automating them is bad.
To bring it back to Pokemon, recent Pokemon games tell you if an attack is super effective or not very effective. I’ve been playing these games for over 20 years, but this made them a lot more accessible and fun to me. Some folks complained about this “dumbing the games down” - as if they aren’t made for children - but I personally don’t find “ugh, right, I forgot Steel resists Psychic for some reason” to enrich my experience.
Back to raising games. So not only do you have to keep in mind what stats are increased by what, you have to remember what stats your character has and what stats you were trying to improve. Cute Bite helpfully puts the stats page next to your activity list, but Princess Maker 2 requires you to back out of your calendar entirely to look at them.
So I very often end up in a spiral of “what was I improving again?”, backing out, looking at the stats, saying “oh right”, going to the jobs, trying to remember what I was doing, et cetera. The video game equivalent of “walking into a kitchen and trying to remember what the fuck you were there to do”.
This is why I list these things as Core QOL. Backing out to look at a separate menu should be something that happens as little as possible. You should be able to, ideally, look at all the information you need on one page, or with a click or two.
Bullet point #5 (a memory album of daughters gone by) is by far the least essential one, but comes back to sentimentality. Being able to look back at the first daughter you ever made, to see her face again and what her ending was. It also does have a practical purpose - if daughter #1 was a “failure” at achieving a certain goal you were looking for, being able to look at her stats would give you some idea of what to try for with daughter #2.
All of these have the potential to be cut, but that one is the most likely. That said, all of them would be ideal to have.
There’s still the list of various features I’d like to have but don’t consider essential, but, well, this post is long enough already. But I feel pretty good about having nailed down the things I’m most invested in developing, and I feel like by working outward from there, the most necessary features should become more obvious.

send 🌻 and i’ll talk about whatever! || @offiiciium || accepting!
🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
🌻 - break no fucking mercy run i guess asdjkfhaksfd so uuuhhh yeets under a cut so no one hates me ajksfdhalksdf
🌻 - much like with fenrich, i have yet to start watching nge but i’m already down to give everything to shinji ikari which is impressive, you are so powerful.
🌻 - i’m excited about it bc similar to dr i have somehow managed to avoid ?? most spoilers, i know some memes and stuff here and there
🌻 - more dr3 thoughts because i have a lot. i don’t love the amount of faked out deaths, it’s a little overdone. especially that they’ve used it SPECIFICALLY on the survivors so they know we’re attached, it feels cheap.
🌻 - also chiaki shouldn’t be there like i love her but it LITERALLY makes no sense, and I know some of the spoilers about her and chisa. but also her entire interactions with hajime in the beginning are so good and just punched me in the how much i love that ship tbh.
🌻 - similar vein, i want to write up formal posts, but i feel like the dr3 falling to despair explanations don’t line up to me. as far as i’m concerned, there’s a solid base for every sdr2 character to be exploited - all of them are unhappy or unsatisfied in some way or another - and in particular, it’s heavily tied to their talents. getting master manipulator junko involved, and exploiting that bitterness towards hope’s peak, it doesn’t seem like a stretch to have her exploit those tensions to her advantage.
🌻 - oh also hagakure’s design glow up in dr3 almost makes me want to care him. almost. i do wish they’d do something with his character other than make him stupid but alas.
🌻 - i want more toko. just in general. her character has so much potential and i felt like we started to get it in UDG and then the game was OVER and that’s just horrible. she deserves so much. and to kiss komaru a lot.
🌻 - on the topic of UDG tho i am SICK of the little green bitch!! done with her!! can i get five LESS i’m OVER it!!!!
🌻 - i really need to read the mukuro novel, i’m very curious about her, she seems like such an interesting character but i haven’t touched her much yet. i also wanna read dr0 or at least a summary. i’ve never had a hyperfixation ever in my entire life.
🌻 - i started playing dr2 on my phone at lunch today and i have to say the phone interface is way better than i expected! they take up a stupid amount of space and are 100% worth it lol
🌻 - i love playing imessage games but i am so bad at them i lose ALL the time lol, my current kick is battleship, but can go for darts, chess, and filler!!
🌻 - my Anxiety phone game is solitaire - it gives me something to do with my hands to help me pay attention.
🌻 - my Mindless game is arknights when i’m farming! just throw on auto deploys while i watch things or draw or write haha
🌻 - i also play lovenikki, which is my before bed game.
🌻 - maybe video games own my life more than previously calculated
🌻 - on theme, i’ve been thinking about finally properly finishing pokemon shield, i finished most of the main story but i have caught legendary buppo yet and i need to ksjfhasjlkfd
🌻 - my favorite pokemon are stufful and furret and noibat and ninetales!! i have a type. fire types are my personal niche and favorite!!
🌻 - my first tumblr rpc was pokemon!! i think my love of fire types started when i wrote chili, but i also wrote jasmine, mei, and an oc!
🌻 - i also used to have a few harvest moon OCs in a harvest moon rp group!! i miss them... one day i will revamp them, they’re good kids - laura and kinta were the names :0
🌻 - my favorite harvest moon game is magical melody but specifically with the game cube add on that let you port in the mineral town characters, absolutely top tier!! i miss playing it so much. second fave is harvest moon ds. in both of these i marry ann bc i’m predictable.
🌻 - close second for a wonderful life! it was my first harvest moon game and it meant i could marry celia over and over and over and over again. i love her. she’s so good. another wonderful life sucked bc the bachelors were shit. give me the same quality as the women or perish. but hmds cute was good, i love the mineral town boys
🌻 - i didn’t know stardew valley could be multi player but i think it can be so i think someone should play with me
🌻 - i made a joke that izuru kamukura is just mew two and now i physically can’t stop thinking about it

The Slashers And Video Games
Okay, I do not take any headcanon requests but i’ve been thinking about this for awhile so here we go! Also there's a lot of mention of Minecraft, oop-
Michael
• Oh dear lord, please restrict this man to Minecraft creative mode only!
• Also, remember to put it on peaceful mode, we don't want any creepers destroying what he's worked so hard to build.
• His world is his sanctuary, do not mess with anything he has created, periodt. If he allows you to join his game, (we love Michael's Christian Minecraft server) just follow his lead and help him build. He will appreciate it in his own way.
• As my friend said: "Michael, is that Smith's Grove? Annddd, you set it on fire, nice."
• If he gets his hands on any other game, Mortal Combat for example, you may not have a TV or gaming console anymore so watch him please.
Freddy
• Burnt chicken nugget man would be thrilled to play video games with you! He's old school and enjoys the platform games a lot.
• He would also enjoy Minecraft but he may call it stupid and boring before he even tries it. Tell the asshole to suck it up and just play!
• He may spawn a creeper near whatever you are building just to piss you off and you cannot expect any less from him.
• Maybe you could make him try Smash Bros with you! You'll kick his ass a bunch of times but make sure to get ready for him actually learning all the attack moves because he will play to win.
Jason
• Jason would be partial to Animal Crossing, let's be honest.
• Isabelle would likely be his favorite character if playing New Leaf. He thinks she's the cutest! If the original, he likes Rasher.
• If a villager he dislikes moves away, it will make him very happy, no doubt about it. It makes him feel like he's 'protecting' the other villagers.
• He may even play The Sims if you can get him off Animal Crossing long enough to start it!
Bubba
• Two words: farming simulator. He would be hooked within moments.
• Also, goat simulator.
• He gets to wreck havoc as a fucking goat, what's not to love?!
• They're games with a low stress level and he likes that. He may even pull you into his lap and have you watch him play.
Brahms
• Oh man, Pokemon all the way!
• Gotta catch em' all? He'll try!
• You may want to get him a game shark/action replay to help him because he will be obsessed.
• His pokemon are his children, he loves them all. Especially the fact that you can pet and feed your pokemon in newer games to earn their love.
Billy and Stu
• You can honestly get them to play just about anything.
• They'll enjoy good horror games the most, though.
• Stu would be addicted to Grand Theft Auto, you can't change my mind.
• You and Billy would likely be watching him for hours on end murdering people and evading authorities much like real life.
• Billy would probably be more into watching than playing a lot of the time but I could see him liking something like Marvel vs. Capcom because he would be able to kick the asses of both you and Stu.

Excuse me! But where is my Sanders Sides Gamer AU???
Voices in my head: Gee Bunny, it seems you have no problem writing a lot of other fics and stuff yet you still haven’t even finished the next chapter of your Spiderverse fic???
Me: SHUT THE FUCK UP DISEMBODIED VOICES IN MY HEAD!!! IF YOU WANT THAT FIC DONE SO BADLY TELL MY LOGIC AND CREATIVITY TO GET THEIR ASSES IN GEAR AND GIVE ME SOME GOD DAMN INSPIRATION!!!!
Voices in my head:.....
Me: Yeah, that’s what I thought! Anyways, idk if I just missed a memo or something but I haven’t seen any Gamer AU of my boys and that is a crime in and of itself! Like, how dare! But fret not, I am here to provide content (Read: headcannons) that you did not ask for! Let us begin! Or should I say start!
(please note that I am not a gaming expert so feel free to add or correct stuff)
NOW WITH A PART 2!!!!
MAIN SQUAD
Roman Rosewood
Obviously loves RPGs! Anything with a good story line really! Or has medieval fantasy aesthetic!
Skyrim, Diablo, Undertale, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Fallout, Red Dead Redemption, Undertales, Dragon Age, God of War Dark Souls, Assassins Creed, Earthbound, etc.
Played West of Loathing just so he could rip on it but actually ended up loving it and spending way to many hours playing. Then he found out there was a game called Kingdom of Loathing by the same creators and went down that rabbit hole as well.
He was iffy about getting into JRPGs but then Virgil convinced him to play Persona 5 and he absolutely fell in love with the music!
All the music in his phone is either from musicals or Video games!
Also really likes choose your own adventure games like Detroit: Become Human, Life is Strange, and Telltale Games
So much video game merch! Usually figurines because he likes to make little shelves and display cases for them.
He also really likes multiplayer games because he’s a social butterfly and likes to play with his squad.
Sucks at first person shooter games but still willingly plays Fortnight or Call of Duty or Left for Dead with his friends because he doesn’t want to be a drag and complain. But also they sometimes die in game in the most hilarious ways and it just leaves everybody wheezing.
Virgil Dante
Horror games, obvs!
All about that dark aesthetic!
Devil May Cry, Silent Hill, Fran Bow, Sally Face, Resident Evil, The Witch’s House, Amnesia, Little Nightmares, Bendy and The Ink Machine, Alice: Madness Returns, SCP-Containment, Pony Island, etc.
Yes, he’s played all the Five Nights At Freddy’s games. It’s a good series and it isn’t his fault the fandom is bat shit crazy and full of ten year olds! Fuck you Roman!
Every time the Walking Dead comes out he knows he’ll end up crying by the end of it. He and the squad make and event out of it.
Japanese horror games are usually his favorite because they deal more with the psychological aspects of horror instead of the jump scares
So, yes, he’s also a fan of Corps Party and Fatal Frame
Also really good at first person shooters because he has a really steady hand (you usually have to when playing horror games least you want to restart the level) and it pisses Roman off to no end every time Virgil randomly headshots him.
Usually likes to by merch in the form of posters, t-shirts, or beanies. He only buys figurines if it’s a game he really, really likes.
At first didn’t know why people kept bugging him to play Doki Doki Literature Club but then he finally caved and...oh...that’s why.
Logan Mill
My boy loves puzzle and strategy games yo!
Legend of Zelda, Portal, Tetris, Unravel, World of Goo, Inside, Limbo, Pokemon, Shadow of the Colossus, StarCraft, Command and Conquer, Age of Empire, Heart of Iron, World of Warcraft, etc.
He likes Overwatch but doesn’t like playing with people online so he usual solos or asks the others to play. But that too usually ends in chaos.
Hates rage games because he gets frustrated easily and has broken at least four keyboards and two controllers
He still plays them anyways because he can beat it damn it! Just give him a minute!
Enjoys the God of War series despite all the mythological inaccuracies
He plays a lot of Minecraft to relax or destress and has build beautiful works of architecture and sometimes entire cities.
He thought it was stupid and childish and was embarrassed about it for a long time until the squad came over to his house one day uninvited and caught him playing. He was getting ready for them to make fun of him but they instead gushed about how AMAZING everything looked and how TALENTED he was for building all himself.
Logan ends up showing them how to play afterwards and they work together to make weird sculptures and complex tunnels underground.
He likes practical merch like backpacks, coffee mugs, pencil holders, notebooks, ect. as well as a few t-shirts and novelty ties.
Yes, he does collect Pokemon cards!
Patton Adley
Silly dating sims, farming games, and any cute game really! Plus a few side scroller games!
Stardew Valley, Harvest Moon, Slime Rancher, The Sims, Dream Daddy, Animal Crossing, Kirby, Monster Prom, Hatoful Boyfriend, Scribblenauts, Night In The Woods, Ni Nu Kuni, etc.
Big Nintendo fan!
He made the mistake of playing Doki Doki Literature Club without reading the warning tags and regrets it immensely...still a good game though.
He did the same thing with Huni Pop but that one made him laugh more then anything and he kind of got addicted to it. Then he found out there was a sequel called HuniCam so he went down that rabbit hole too.
He likes a lot of phone app games too like Cut the Rope, Neko Atsume, and Candy Crush.
Loves trashy dating app games, he thinks they’re so funny and cheesy
He was addicted to Mystic Messenger for a long while
Just because he has his preference doesn’t mean he won’t try other games too, Logan got him hooked on World of Warcraft (though really he did that to everyone), Virgil showed him Hollow Knight, and Roman suggested he play Undertales.
Prefers merch in the form of plushies and key chains!
He likes to bake and decorate cookies, cakes and pastries in the form of his favorite video game characters.
RED SQUAD
Duncan [Deceit] Adley (Patton’s twin)
A lot of first person shooter and combat games!
Doom Series, Super Smash Bros, Mortal Combat, Halo, Fortnight, Grand Theft Auto, Street Fighter, Tekken, Soul Calibur, Half-Life, Team Fortress, Destiny, Wolfenstein, Bio Shock, Splatoon, PUBg etc.
Patton was the one that introduced him to Splatoon and he won’t admit that it’s actually super fun.
Doesn’t mind story driven games and RPGs but he really just wants something he can zone out to and relax
He likes to troll people online, mainly assholes picking on little kids who just want to play.
He once teamed up with a group of kids on Call of Duty solely for the purpose of collectively kicking the asses of this groups of so called “real gamers” that were being jerks.
Has memorized all the combos! He doesn’t have time to sit and look up a cool finishing move, he needs it now!
Always mains the weakest/most useless character in fighting games and still manages to kick everyone’s ass.
Doesn’t have a preference in merch and usually grabs whatever he likes be it figurines, t-shirts, posters, plushies, or whatever, so long as he likes the game it comes from.
Has several tattoos from his favorite games
Emile Picani
Classic retro games, cartoonish games, and Nintendo are his jam broham!
Mario, Classic Sonic, Paper Boy, Transylvania, Spyro, Pac Man, All the Saga Disney games, Duck Hunt, Mario Kart, Galaga, Mega Man, Donkey Kong, Secret of Mana, Banjo-Kazooie, Conker’s Bad Fur Day, etc.
Absolutely fell in love with Shovel Knight when it came out!
Remy got him into all the indie pixel games: Towerfall, Terraria, Owlboy, Hotline Miami, Papers Please, Celeste, One Shot, etc.
Duncan was the one that introduced him to Cuphead and the usually play it together and see how far each of them can go without dying.
The game is difficult but the art is still so breathtaking!
Likes the occasional psychological thriller game
Bet Virgil showed him Alice: Madness Returns and Doki Doki Literature Club (after he’s played it of course)
Likes plushies and figurine merch with the occasional poster and coffee mug.
Likes to doodle a lot of his fav video game characters and cartoons and is actually really good at it. He helped design most of Duncan’s tattoos.
Remy Knightly
Likes a lot of indie games and old online flash games!
The Stanley Parables, Oxenfree, Inside, Firewatch, Super MeatBoy, The Binding of Issac, Donut County, Henry Stickman series, Impossible Quiz, Crush the Castle series, Hyper Light Drifter, etc.
He always gets everybody hooked on one game or another
He convinced everyone to play Undertales so for like a month they all went through a HUGE Undertales faze.
Was the actual, ACTUAL one that showed Duncan Cuphead because he knew the dork would be reminded of Emile because of the animation and would want to show it to him and play multiplayer (*cough* subtle matchmaker *cough*)
(Do not be fooled, he is a pinning boy himself)
Is up to date in all the gossip of the latest games and consuls, indie or mainstream! He’s in the know, know and if you need to know something chances are Remy probably knows it.
Weeds out through all the indie horror games for Virgil and recommends what he thinks are the best ones.
Same thing with Logan and his puzzle games, he’s usually is able to find very strange ones and Logan seems to likes those best.
Obviously has a lot of merch in coffee mug and thermal form as well as a few key chains.
Occasionally streams on Twitch with Duncan and Emile (sometimes inviting the main squad too), they’re commentary is usual hilarious.

Seeing as Pokémon Sword and Shield still did well sale wise even with the lack in quality I’ve decided to make a list of monster collecting game alternative for those looking for something new or to migrate away from pokemon.
Below I’ll add a readmore listing some game series, a good one to start with (In my opinion), and some information about the game series itself.
Yo-kai Watch: A personal favorite of mine, Yo-Kai watch focuses more so on Japanese mythology and legends regarding their monster designs, leading to some rather strange and unique designs. The premise is Yo-Kai are invisible to humans, requiring a special tool to see them. Rather than catching them in a ball you more so have to convince them to join you by bribing them with food or other tools you’ll get depending on the game. The game has no random encounters meaning you have to go and find the Yo-Kai, and battles are auto battles with you providing support which gets more creative when you get to the boss fights. I would start of with either 2 or 3, as 2 is more so an upgraded version of 1 and three has a slightly different battle mechanic. 4 has also come out but as of now it is currently only available in Japan on the switch. I should warn you 2 and 3 take up a lot of room on the 3DS but they come with a sort of 2 in 1 feature, with Yo-Kai Watch 3 having a whole mystery dungeon side game.
Digimon: What could be considered Pokémon's oldest rival is a bit of a wild card in many ways, with their huge mix of varying aesthetics there’s a digimon for every one. The premise is simple, monsters exist in a computer world, though the execution varies. Some games work more so like a Tamagotchi, a product they were originally based on being the “boy” version of it to a more team of monsters fighting gameplay. I have played very little of it but Digimon World Team Dusk and Team Dawn were my personal favorite, focusing on 3v3 combat with data about the digimon needing to be collected to recreate them rather than catch them. Unfortunately this is only available on the original DS so you either need a rom or buy it online, though there are plenty of other games out there to find.
Shin Megami Tensei: One of the earliest monster collecting games first appearing on the super famicon in 1992 (for reference pokemon red and blue came out in 1996), the series focuses on more post apocalyptic worlds were demons run amuck. Unlike pokemon once more you must convince the demons to join you rather than catching them, though this is more complex with a sort of chat based system rather than the more chance related Yo-Kai Watch. Every monster is based on a wide variety of mythological creatures to creatures based on a wide variety of religions, with even angels being listed as “demons”. The combat is more close to a standard rpg, but you fight along with your monsters rather than them doing the battling for you. While I haven’t played very many Shin Megami Tensei games the one I started with was Strange Journey which is one of the more readily available titles on the 3DS. Most Shin Megami Tensei games can be found on either Nintendo consoles or PlayStations.
Dragon Quest: A few Dragon Quest games allow you to recruit monsters to live on a farm or some sort of home base, but there is a spinoff series focused more so on the monsters and a mainline one that has monster recruiting more prominent. The Dragon Quest Monsters and Dragon Quest Monsters Joker series are focused more so on the collecting. At least for Joker, as I’ve only played Joker 2, the battles are more akin to regular rpg battles, with your monsters being like party members who can be given equipment and level up to gain skills. Recruiting monsters is more so an action where all the monsters attack and the stronger they are the better the chances you’ll get that monster to join you. As for the main series one, Dragon Quest 6 allowed you to recruit monsters as party members who also leveled up and gained skills (6 also came out on the SNES in 1995, so another game to reference when people call other monster catching games pokemon ripoffs if you hate those people) The Joker games were released on the DS and the earlier Monsters 1 and 2 were on the Gameboy meaning roms or online shopping will be needed, same with Dragon Quest 6.
Monster Rancher: Unfortunately I know little about Monster Rancher other than a bit of the main mechanics. The game focuses more so on monster breeding and raising followed by tournament battles. The original PlayStation series had a special gimmick where putting in a music CD into the PlayStation would give you a specific monster depending on what was on it. Monster Rancher really only appears on the first two PlayStations and the Gameboy/DS so roms and online shopping will be needed
If you have any more series you know of feel free to add them to this post when you reblog it.

Top 5 Upcoming NFT Games to Watch Out For
In this article, I will introduce to you the biggest upcoming titles that will shake the world of NFT gaming quite literally.
Why? Because these games are so well-made (mind you, still in development) but they can already rival big titles currently in the market. And the best part is, once these games fully launch, you can start earning real-life money from them.
There’s no better introduction to this topic than to just jump right in and see the games for yourself, so let’s go!
1. Illuvium
Illuvium is an upcoming game that is considered as the first AAA blockchain game, and rightly so because of the game’s mechanics, graphics, and overall presentation. It is one of the most highly anticipated open-world fantasy games built on the Ethereum blockchain. And did I mention that it’s also Play-To-Earn?
Gameplay
The way the game works is similar to Pokemon. You can capture Illuvials, the game’s monsters, and fight with other monsters or players. In place of a Pokeball, Illuvium uses Shards. And instead of a turn-based format, the game is played in an auto-chess battle sequence. All you have to do is to strategically place your Illuvials on the battle’s board, and the game will commence.
So, if you are familiar with Autochess or Teamfight Tactics, then you already have an advantage. Check the official White Paper for more info.
Here’s another view of how the gameplay’s UI will look like:
Also, initially, the game will feature 100 unique Illuvials that players can capture. But as the game progresses along, more Illuvials will be released into the wild for players to encounter, battle, and capture. These Illuvials also have their evolution forms of up to 3 (so far) like Pokemon.
Illuvials have their own elemental affinity and class, which makes strategizing more exciting and fun.
For example, available affinities in the game are: Air, Water, Earth, Fire, and Nature. Fire beats Nature, Nature beats Water, Water beats Fire, and so on. It’s like a game of Rock Paper Scissors.
And when it comes to class, the basic ones are Empath, Psion, Guardian, Fighter, and Rogue.
So, an Illuvial can be a Fire affinity Guardian, and right now we can only assume that that simply means it is focused on defense with skills reminiscent of fire. And so on, you get the idea.
And of course, the game is still in development and things might still change.
Main Features
Features several revenue sources – from aesthetics like skins to in-game item purchases, crafting, selling captured illuvials, selling farmed materials.
Wager – bet on battles.
The game in itself is FREE to play, but if you would like to earn through the game, you will need to invest a little amount – last I saw this is around $50, but this can still change.
Roadmap
Closed beta will be on December 2021 to Q1 of 2022.
Mystery auction before launch for early adopters on Q1 2022.
Open beta launch on PC in Q4 or Q1.
Mobile launch in 2022.
2. Cashbox
Cashbox is the world's first blockchain game that combines the world of ancient civilizations with the legendary gems NFT and the Mewtwo divine beasts.
In Cashbox, any user can enter the game space, choose a specific temporal territory, and participate in the construction, purchase and sale of land, divine beasts and virtual goods.
Cashbox2023 in the upcoming Teaser version has been determined to be on line with the beast summoning and feeding function, market trading function, metaverse plots, etc. Players can already start to get scarce resources for building their own metaverse empire.
Gameplay
Cashbox Teaser version is a meta-universe created with the background of ancient human civilization, to enter the metaverse first you need to buy the pass inside Dbox, Dbox is a blind box in the form of NFT, which contains a corresponding metaverse civilization plot NFT and diamond NFT. you can decide according to the rarity of these two items are collected and traded or used to exchange into crystals. The crystals can be used in the game for the summoning of gods and Mewtwo divine beasts, which can be cultivated and upgraded. Different civilizations and city-states and Mewtwo divine beasts within civilizations will have different rarities, and it is up to the player's eyes as to how to trade to get the maximum benefit.
The official white paper of the game we can see that Cashbox will open up the custom editing function of the plot NFT and the matchmaking function of the gods and beasts in the later stages, which should be the two highlights that people are looking forward to in the later versions. At the same time this is also a major profit point for players in the later stages, for the current players who can get the whitelist I believe you should know what to go in and do.
Main Features
1. The game threshold is low, and the whole game mode is very friendly to NFT newcomers.
2. The distinctive maps and the forms of the divine beasts integrate the myths of different civilizations, which enhances the fun of the game.
3. Dbox blind box contains two copies of random rarity NFT.
4. Late version of playing gold way more.
Roadmap
In the Cashbox Alpha version, Summon Mythical Beast function is enabled and the asset use mode with city-state as the unit on the territory of the original four ancient civilizations is further expanded. Players can build the social relationships of their own network structure in Cashbox. With the basic modules of mythical beast and commodity matrix, each player can upgrade different asset categories modules according to their own needs.
In Cashbox Launcher version, the protocol permission based on the communication contract encryption layer will be further opened, and the system optimization of communication and resource process coordination between distributed components with players/users as nodes through message transmission can be explored. In the Launcher version, players possess 3D assets that are transparently linked, and the ability to handle the heterogeneity, openness, and addition and replacement of components of Cashbox system is enhanced in an open scenario based on global clock process optimization. Therefore, users can choose the function of connecting more real data to the virtual matrix and participate in the game setup.
3. Star Atlas
Star Atlas is one of the games that I am excited about. Being a space nerd myself, I can imagine exploring the universe through a game…and what more, I can own badges (for rank) and ships. It’s also possible to own lands, but in the case of Star Atlas, they are more like platforms or space stations.
Anyway, there are still a lot of things that are unknown at this point, but one thing for sure is that this game is very ambitious. It aims to monetize the time players spend in the game, fully own assets, and the like.
Gameplay
The gameplay, per the developers, and with what we know for now based on the interviews and blog posts they have released, starts with players going on a journey across the universe…or in the case of blockchain games, the Metaverse. There, players can compete for resources, fight, trade, and basically rule for domination or peace.
The exact mechanics on how this can work is still not clear, but there is a heavy emphasis on the game’s economy. One big thing is players can build their own cities, run their own economy in the game, and convert those in-game assets into real-life money.
Main Features
What we know so far for certain is players can choose between 3 factions:
ONI region – a consortium of alien species.
Ustur sector – a group of sentient androids.
MUD territory – a group of humans.
Aside from that, each spaceship can engage in space battles, do interstellar travel, dock on space stations for trading, resource resupply, and many more.
Ships can also be customized for deep space travel, for combat, and many more.
And perhaps one of the things that I am looking forward to in Star Atlas is player governance of the game, where players actually have a say on the game’s direction.
Roadmap
Phase 1 (launched September 7, 2021) – instead of an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) they are going to offer GAO (Galactic Asset Offering) in which people can purchase game assets through the Star Atlas Marketplace.
Phase 2 – Launch of the MVP – a browser mini game. At this point, the game is still not fully playable, but trading and other in-game revenue will commence.
Phase 3 – Launch of more game assets like shipyard sales, more ships, crews, and components.
Phase 4 – Launch of the full game, and at this point all assets purchased prior will be usable according to their intended purpose.
The exact dates of other phases are still yet to be announced.
4. Guild of Guardians
If you are familiar with fantasy RPG games like Diablo or Path of Exile, then you will find Guild of Guardians to be a very comfortable game for you to play.
In Guild of Guardians (GoG), you can build your team of heroes so you can challenge dungeons and quests to win resources and items. You can also use these resources to craft items, “craft” heroes, and trade or sell them for real money.
Gameplay
As mentioned above, it is inspired from fantasy games like Diablo, Dungeons and Dragons, and Path of Exile (I only used this as an example since it’s popular right now, but in reality PoE is also inspired from Diablo).
Anyway, the way the game is played is through a team of heroes. Your team will enter dungeons to fight monsters like orcs. You can earn rewards from accomplishing quests or defeating dungeons, as well as through gaining loot from monsters.
The game developers are looking into incorporating 3 main attributes for each hero: Factional, Class, and Element.
Factions: Empire, Glade, Horde
Classes: Warrior, Ranger, Mage
Elements: Water, Earth, Dark, Light, Fire
And each hero or items are separated into 4 levels of rarities: common, rare, epic, and legendary. Get a glimpse of what you can get on their official store.
There are also plans for guilds, pets, equipment, etc., but that is for another article of its own since it will take time to write all of them. Exciting, right??
Roadmap
Q2 2022 – soft launch of the alpha version. Early users can start voting for features using Gems.
Q4 2022 – launch of the beta version of the game with additional game modes.
Q2 2023 – full launch of the game, end of the testing phase, and will include new game modes as well as periodic content release.
One of the exciting things about Guild of Guardians is that they stand by the principle that gamers should not keep on paying for a game, but instead since they are spending time in the game, players should instead have a share of the profits – thus, it’s Free-to-Play and Play-to-Earn!
5. Plants vs Undead
Plants vs Undead is quite literally inspired from Plants vs Zombies, a game that became popular worldwide several years ago. Everyone played this game or has heard of it at some point, and I must admit, I enjoyed it too.
And now, reminiscent to Plants vs Zombies comes Plants vs Undead – a blockchain game that is also Play-to-Earn.
Gameplay
In Plants vs Undead, or PvU, is very much similar to Plants vs Zombies (PvZ), so if you’ve played it before, then you already have an advantage. But for those who haven’t played it, then it basically works like a Tower Defense kind of game.
In PvU, the undead came from outerspace through meteors, and their goal is to spread disease and reach the Mother Trees, which will kill the planet so the undead can finally fully rule it.
As a last stand, Seeds are the final hope of the planet. Players start with 6 plants and a mother tree, which are free. But these are only basic plants with basic stats, so in order to progress more in the game, players will need to purchase seeds or plants using the PVU token, which can also be earned in the game or through the marketplace.
So, to summarize, you will need to place anywhere from 6 to 8 plants maximum on your board to protect your mother tree while the undead advances.
If you successfully defeat all rounds of undead, then you will earn in-game rewards which you can use to trade in the marketplace.
Another part of the game is Farm Mode, which allows players to generate Light Energy, which can be used to trade for PVU tokens. It’s basically just like earning coins passively and while you are AFK.
Main Features
What we know so far for certain is players can choose between 3 factions:
Farming mode will earn players Light Energy, which is important so you can earn PVU tokens, which in turn can be converted into real money.
Each seed or plants have their own elements and traits, so choosing the perfect team will have a huge impact in your game’s synergy.
It is built on the Binance Smart Chain, which is faster and affordable than other Ethereum-based games (especially when it comes to Ethereum gas prices).
The developers have mentioned that aside from Survival and Farm modes, there will also be a Multiplayer mode where players can compete or fight with other players.
Roadmap
Q4 2021 – Lending and borrowing feature for plants will be available in the marketplace, and new plants, mother trees, and lands will be available for purchase.
Q1 2022 – the first PvP tournament will be launched, with a pool prize of 1 million PVU tokens.
Q2 2022 – new game modes will be introduced for continuous game development.
Bonus: Axie Infinity
I mentioned Axie Infinity a couple of times before, and since then I’ve played it long enough to give a more balanced view of the game. From my post over a month ago, I mentioned that I bought average-priced Axies, and since then I already gained back what I invested and have been enjoying pure profit for a time now.
But in any case, there have been a lot of updates from the developers and the price of Smooth Love Potion, the in-game token which can be converted into real money, has been playing around $0.06 to $0.08 per token.
It’s not that bad considering this is the price before it blew up around July of 2021. During that time, the price went up to $0.3 to $0.4 at its peak.
The good thing is, the price is currently stable, maybe a bit down if you started during its peak, but for those who are familiar with blockchain play-to-earn games, this is just another cycle.
Is it still worth looking into? Sure! But as with all games that enable players to earn money, always take precaution and only spend money that you are willing to lose!
To End
The era of spending heavily on games without an actual monetary return is coming to an end, and this is backed by the games above that are about to launch. These are games that are built by independent and big game studios with proper funding, proper plan, and clear goals, not just an idea. These games are already here, like Axie Infinity, only this time…on a grander scale.
Are you excited?!

Now, you can either do the hard work and go around collecting stuff from different places or take the easy way out. There are several hacks and cheats which make the game easier for you. Unless the thought of cheating makes you suffer from an ethical conundrum, this article shall be your guide to unlocking a whole new level of fun. The game is much more enjoyable if you are residing in a heavily populated metropolitan city. Therefore, we find nothing wrong in using a few hacks and cheats to make the game more fun and exciting. This also allows players from the countryside to enjoy the game better. You need to make sure that your I. However, make sure not to use it too frequently, or else Niantic will be on to you. So, we will advise you to take the risk only if you are okay with the consequences, i. This hack is used by the laziest of the lot. People who do not want to make any effort whatsoever can use bots to do their bidding. You can assign one or multiple bot accounts to essentially play the game for you. They will use your credentials to log in and use your current location or any fake location that you want as a starting point. Now they will emulate a walking motion by GPS spoofing and sending appropriate data to Niantic from time to time. This is the easiest way to progress through the game in a very short period of time. Additionally, Niantic has been working pretty hard to eliminate bots from the game. This does not really fall under the category of cheats and hacks but still allows users to get an undue advantage. As the name suggests, people use multiple accounts created in the names of their friends and family members and use them to take control of gyms quickly. The user will have multiple accounts, and each of them will be on a different team. This way, the user will face almost no challenge while fighting to take control of a gym. Meanwhile, others can use these secondary accounts to fill up other gyms and preparing more easy targets for the main account. Niantic is aware of this trick and comes down strongly on players who are discovered using this. Therefore they have banned several accounts that were frequently indulging in this act. So, be careful while using this hack. Make sure to spend enough time offline before asking someone to log in to your account from a different location. This will lead Niantic to believe that you actually traveled to a new location. IV stands for Individual Values. The most you can do is get an appraisal from your team leader. However, this appraisal is a little ambiguous and vague. If you are looking for more accurate and precise results, you can use third-party IV checking apps. Using these apps are safer in comparison to using Auto IV checkers that link directly to your account. However, there is a good chance that Niantic might discover this little third-party app integration and decide to ban your account. So, tread carefully. Up until now, we have been discussing some pretty serious cheats that could get your account banned. The available options are Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur. However, there exists a secret fourth option, and that is Pikachu. Pikachu will not appear initially. You will have to wait. This can be considered more like an Easter egg that Niantic has cleverly placed in the game. Besides being super cool, it also has other additional benefits in the form of rewards. This was made possible due to the Buddy system introduced in September update. You can choose Pikachu to be your buddy, and he will start walking at your side. Walking with your buddy also allows you to earn Candy as a reward. Now, when you complete a 10km walk with Pikachu as your buddy, he will climb up on your shoulder. There are certain special events known as Special Research that require you to add a friend in order to participate. This seems like a fairly easy task if you have a lot of players in your vicinity. However, for people living in remote areas, all the players are already friends with each other. In that case, you need to use a simple workaround and take advantage of a small loophole. You can simply remove an existing friend from the Friend list and add him again. It will do the trick. Niantic does not mind this hack and would not fix the loophole because then it would be really problematic for someone who accidentally removed a friend. If the answer this quite often, then this hack would probably be the most useful one for you. However, this trick will need three people, so make sure that you get two friends to help you in the act. Niantic only allows you to change the orientation if you make a special report by filing a High priority issue. However, you can make this work even without filing and report and making the system think that an issue has been reported. Follow the steps given below to see how. Firstly, hold your phone horizontally and launch the game. Remember to continue holding the phone horizontally while following all the subsequent steps. After that, tap on the Settings option. Tap on it. Now tap on the Yes button to confirm, and this will close the game and start loading the website page to report issues. Before the page loads, tap the home button and come to the main screen. You will see that the Settings page will open, and the orientation will be changed to landscape mode. The game will continue to be in landscape mode even when you exit the settings. The wider angle allows you to load a much larger section of the map. Battles at the gym however will still work as usual. The good this is you can revert to the original Portrait mode at any time by simply closing the game and relaunching it. Now one of the main objectives of the game is to rank up by getting XP stands for experience points. You might be familiar with the Lucky Egg, which, when activated, doubles the XP gained for any activity for a period of 30 minutes. This means that you can gain a lot of XP points if you make the best use of this time. Given below is a more detailed step-wise explanation to use the Pidgey exploit. Do not make the mistake of transferring them. It encourages you to step outside and go for long walks. As a result, it only registers kilometres travelled when you are on your foot. These are known as driving lockouts. All these lockouts exist to prevent players from playing the game while driving, as it could be very dangerous for everyone. However, it also prevents passengers in a car or bus from playing the game while on the move. Therefore, you can use certain tricks to bypass these lockouts. Follow the steps given below to see how to bypass the driving lockouts. Special events are Raids are meant to be stumbled upon and not known from beforehand. However, just imagine how much time you would save if you already had all this information even before leaving your home. This information is then compiled on a map and made available to the public. However, there are still a couple of them that work so you will have to try multiple apps before you find one that is active in your location. One thing that we have to agree that using cheats and hacks is usually frowned upon. However, if you want to try them just for the sake of experimentation and fun, there is absolutely no harm. Some of these hacks are really clever and must be appreciated by trying at least once. When you get tired of playing the game the usual way, try using these hacks for a change. We can guarantee that you will definitely have fun. Pete is a Senior staff writer at TechCult. Pete loves all things technology and is also an avid DIYer at heart. I always have the motivation to write, then when I start, it’s either I don’t have the motivation, or I start writing gibberish.
I would like to record down my progresses in my many games I’m handling as a way for me to check back whenever I feel like it. This is gonna be one hell of a ride.
1. King’s Raid
(Picture Source: King’s Raid Official YouTube Channel - King’s Raid Chapter 10 Title Song “The Right” | X: Rebellion)
I know I recently wrote a post on King’s Raid but that’s a gibberish post. This will be (hopefully) a much clearer post.
First of all, King’s Raid is quite a beautiful game, and I am a lover of anime-styled games. What attracted me to this game was how the characters in the trailer looks exactly like their in game counterparts. The only disappointment is how they could have done better in the story telling graphics.
The other thing about this game is that despite having an “auto-battle” function, it was never meant for auto-battle unless your heroes are OP. You will need to pay attention to the battle and manually apply the correct skill to counter, block, defend, heal or attack. And timing is key too.
Aside from that, there is a whole range of stats that just confuses people, which I really question is there a need to state P.Dmg and M.Dmg when it’s really just Dmg in general? The same with Block, is there really a need to separate Block, P.Block, and M.Block? Like why can’t you just call it Dmg and Block? It was also only recently that I finally learnt what the hell Penetration meant.
The reason why I’m talking about stats and such is because they are crucial components to have in the game. Once you hit near the end-game, they are super duper important. Hence, the frustration of having to die in battle repeatedly.
But regardless, after all that chanting, I’m not really into the story chapters now because I decided that I love my phone too much to chuck it across the room. So, if I decided not to play the story chapters, then, what the heck am I doing in the game?
The answer is really simple. I have decided to collect all of the heroes in the game as long as I play. Right now, my main team of heroes are more or less stable and are ready to be deployed if I need to go farm for something. What I am focusing on is to collect the heroes from the Heroes Inn (F2P way because I’m broke af) and raise their levels to the max. Each hero have a unique weapon so I’m gonna try and grab those for them too.
Now that I have set my ultimate goal for the game, I can happily focus on collecting and levelling up my heroes. The game has entered into the inactive phase the past few days because I’m quite caught up to my current collected heroes. All I had to do is wait for Monday reset and farm for those shards to get the one item to transcend them.
2. Monster Super League
Monster Super League, or MSL for short, is a lesser known game. It is basically gacha plus pokemon mashed together. There is a whole lot of monsters, or astromons, to collect in the game.
Due to my undivided attention on King’s Raid, I wasn’t able to devote lots of time to MSL. Now that King’s Raid is in an inactive phase, I can finally start playing MSL seriously.
MSL is really like a monster collecting game and it’s heavily focused on battles. There is a balance between PVPs and PVEs. Personally, I prefer PVEs because nobody can give me a losing streak in battle 🥲
Graphics wise is smoother and more appealing to my eyes when they move across the map. Of course the special effects pale in comparison to King’s Raid but at least it doesn’t disappoint me in the story telling graphics. And speaking of story telling, the whole point of this game is to battle, so, don’t be surprised that the story of the game is terrible.
And since this game is F2P friendly (in some way), everything is bound to be expensive. Upgrade gems, pay. Feed your astromons, pay. Evolve your astromons, pay. Hatch eggs, pay. So, yeah, everything in the game is expensive. Also, the gacha is quite generous, for me at least. I pulled so much to the point that I had to utilise the astromon storage and I even ran out of space a few times (goodbye my in game money).
So, I decided to stop pulling and focus on the ones that I have. At first, I struggled a lot in trying to level up my astromons, especially those that are near to the max level. Unlike King’s Raid which has a specialised place to allow you to utilise to level up your heroes, MSL doesn’t really have one like that. I turned to Mr. Google and I learned that the only fastest way to level up your astromons is to do a repeated battle in one of the areas on your map.
So, that’s what I’m doing now. Before giving this game my undying attention, I already had four astromons fully maxed out. All I need to do is to fill up three of the four battle slots with my fully maxed out astromons and put in the astromon I want to level up into the fourth slot. Thankfully, MSL has a system which allows you to auto-battle 50 times. I know, 50 TIMES, without you doing anything. I decided to make very good use of that system.
Even as I’m writing this now, I have already maxed out one of my astromons and currently trying to raise another. She went from level 57 to 59. Guessed that’s what I’m gonna do most of the time.
3. Genshin Impact
As many of you know, I am playing Genshin Impact, but as of recently, I’m starting to feel the burn out again.
Probable reasons, there’s really nothing to do in the game now, I have all of the characters (hurrah), grinding is hard.
I know there’s a new event, and to be honest, I’m not really excited about it. First because I have already maxed out Fischl’s constellations, so getting her is not a motivation for me. Second, the events are mainly in co-op mode which, not saying that I dislike co-op, I’m just not a big fan of it.
The only thing that’s really keeping me to come back is my teapot. I love the teapot because I get to decorate it. The downside, I have to grind for materials.
The other thing that possibly contributed to the burnout is the building of characters. Trying to level them up is a torture. Trying to get their materials is also a torture. I wonder how do people do it.
Previously, I made a list of who I should farm for first. But then, I decided to scrap that idea recently because progress was too slow. Instead, I took a look at the characters which are decently built and can be swapped out anytime for battle purposes. I realised (aside from dendro) that I have all elements except hydro. So, with renewed purpose, I decided to focus on Mona. Building her became my priority since I already have her, her weapon, and her artifacts (don’t ask) maxed out. I just have to focus on getting her talents up to standards and I finally have a team of interchangeable characters.
The next thing I looked at was Venti. The whole reason why I build him is for his ult, and also Lumine can finally graduate to geo element. I have already levelled up his ult to standards and it was only his normal and elemental skill left. I thought is probably doable.
Finally, the one character whom I have always wanted to main but never got the chance to, Xiao. I mean, I got him a long time ago, just didn’t feel right without his spear 😅 It was only a few months ago I managed to get his spear (my poor friend was so confused at that time). I guess he will be my motivation to continue playing.
4. Sky Children of the Light
For the whole period of July, I will be more active in this game for a few reasons. First, there is a myriad of events happening in during this period back-to-back. Second, the new season is out and time waits for no one. Third, I’m candle-broke.
Sky is a F2P friendly, cross-platform, sociable game. You meet people from around the world, play with them, trade with them, make music with them, collect candles (in-game currency) with them, watch them suff- ahem!
As I mentioned earlier, there’s a new season currently available and in order to get everything that the season has to offer, I have to play almost every day. Those items requires special seasonal candles to purchase with.
Recently, we just ended our Days of Rainbow event and lots of players were crying over the items. This Monday, we will be celebrating the 3rd anniversary of the game which means more tears will be shed. After the 3rd anniversary, we will then have our Days of Summer event. All of the items within these three events requires our normal in-game currency which comes in the form of white candles.
I almost forgot, we also have our every fortnightly Travelling Spirit visiting us. Again, tears will be shed (think we will swimming instead of flying in the game by then).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I do have in mind to start taking a look at other games I have put aside since King’s Raid is now inactive mode. Although I have MSL to focus on, I’m mainly letting it on auto-battle mode just to raise my astromons’ levels. So, guess I should be able to cater some time to play other games.
One game I’m looking at is Neir Reincarnation. I just downloaded the game and have been wanting to try at least once on a Neir game. The other game I’m thinking of trying again is Arknights, though I would need lots of time to learn the mechanics of the game again.

Applications of Artificial Intelligence
Applications of Artificial Intelligence
Featured Image Courtesy: https://www.freepik.com
Artificial Intelligence or AI entails upon the concept wherein machines are used for doing jobs that were previously done by humans. The machines have a pre-programmed simulation that can immaculate the know-how needed to perform a particular job. The growth of AI has been phenomenal while the industry continues expanding itself at an exponential pace. AI is slowly getting introduced to the banking industry, finance, marketing and a lot many places. Helping you understand some of the major Applications of Artificial Intelligence:
AI in Marketing
What do you typically do in the marketing field? You create a fascinating niche for the fleet of products or services you intend selling. In other words, you sugar coat your products or services so as to make them appealing to your target audiences. Marketing executives do a fascinating job at convincing customers to buy any type of product or service. Now, imagine a pre-programmed chat bot or an algorithm simulation doing it for you. Wouldn’t that feel awesome? Here is where AI tangentially fits into the field of marketing.
Take an example: Way back in the 2000’s, when the e-commerce industry was introduced to us, finding the right type of products versus their sellers was a real time nightmare. This was exactly true when you didn’t know the exact name of the product. Today, when you type the first word of the product, you get several search results belonging to the item you were looking for. It looks as if the search engines were reading your minds. Within seconds, you get the product you were exactly looking for.
One more example is that of Netflix. Why do you find Netflix so amazing and chill? That is because it examines millions of records with respect to customer’s preferences on movies or TV shows. Hence, if you had seen the movie of a film belonging to a particular actor, it displays several movies or game shows done by the actor. The technology therefore is getting smarter day by day. In the growing years, you can find your product on the web just by snapping a photo of it. Competitors like CamFind are already into experimenting the trend.
Banking
AI in the banking industry is growing at an astounding pace indeed. Banking systems use AI powered virtual assistants to cater to customer service, detect frauds and facilitate loan lending processes. AI is mainly used in the banking industry to keep a tab on fraudulent transactions.
Now, how does this happen? The AI chatbots detect card usage versus their end-point access. This way, security specialists are able to detect scenarios concerning frauds. Companies like Mastercard and RBS WorldPay are relying on AI for finance, banking and retail sectors. This has saved the economy millions of dollars.
Agriculture
The global population is expected to touch a whopping 10 billion humans by 2050 alone. This means we would be needing more food crops by almost 50%. How do you think you can quadruple agricultural yield if the population is growing exponentially? Food companies are coming up with more innovative methods of agricultural farming. Deploying AI and robotics to agriculture help farmers get more from the land while utilizing the existing natural resources more sustainably.
Issues like growing population, climate change and food security concerns are pushing the industry to adopt better approaches to doing farming or agriculture. There is a firm named Blue River Technologies. It has introduced a novel concept namely ‘See and Spray’. The technology makes use of computer vision to detect the crops carefully and spray weedicides accordingly. The tech is used for applying weedicide to cotton plants. Similarly you have one more firm that actively uses robotics and automation in agriculture.
There is a Berlin based agro firm namely PEAT. The computers monitor potential defects and nutritional deficiencies in the soil among growing crops. This is done via images. Farmers then get soil restoration tips, techniques and other useful solutions to protect crops. The estimated accuracy of deploying automation or robotics to agriculture is around 95%.
Health-care industry
Quite a lot of medical companies are relying on AI. Using AI in health-care in fact has saved millions of lives. There is a healthcare company named Cambio. It has devised an equipment that can forewarn surgeons of patients who stand at the risk of getting a heart-related stroke. Coala Life uses AI that can detect patients suffering with a host of cardiac ailments. Aifloo is another automated device that detects the health of people staying at nursing homes, home care centers, etc. You can use AI to detect the impending disorders so that you are able to save lives with the existing medication. As earlier detection prevents the diseases from getting more severe.
Space Exploration
Space expeditions require analysis of a huge amount of data figures to arrive at compelling discoveries. AI coupled with ML helps tabulate data and analyze figures over years. This way, AI transitions a smoother flow to handle and process data on this higher a scale. The Kepler telescope had taken a huge amount of pictures. By using AI, astronomers were able to identify the movements of an eight-planet system. AI technologies are used by NASA extensively to facilitate its next Rover Mission to Mars, i.e. the Mars 2020 Rover.
You already have AEGIS, which is an AI powered Mars Rover that has confirmed its presence on the Red Planet. The Rover helps target autonomous cameras take precise pictures concerning detailed investigation on Mars.
Gaming
You have the combined forces of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality bringing the games to life. Shooting games, car racing games and biking are able to keep us hooked to the gaming consoles as such. Alpha Go Zero, FEAR and Pokemon Go capitalize on AI to get a real-time feel while playing games. Using AI in the gaming industry is the in-thing for today’s generation.
Self-driven vehicles
Self driving cars have always been a buzzword in AI. You have a firm named Waymo. It conducted several test drives in Phoenix before coming out with its fleet of self-driven cars. How do you think this happens? The AI system collects data vehicle’s radar, GPS and cameras. You connect the input values via cloud computing services. Therefore, you get the right kind of sensors that signal or help operate the vehicle, as such.
Advanced Deep learning algorithms give the self-driving car with the kind of objects that are within the vicinity of the driving car. Hence, you get a direct overview of other vehicles that are driving down the roads. This way, self-driving cars are estimated to be more effective and safer too. Tesla’s self-driving cars with the auto-pilot mode are also highly spoken about.
Chat bots
Virtual assistants are increasingly used at hotels, restaurants and at households too. You have talking devices like Alexa, Siri, Cortana and Google Assistant who provide verbal services to us humans. They can take commands from you and answer you back. How does this technology work?
The AI translates human language into desirable commands. This is done via speech recognition and NLP in order to perform a wide range of tasks on your command. You can use AI devices to switch on TVs, table-lamps and music systems. These devices can tell you message notifications on your mobile phone. You can book movie tickets, book cab services, order food from online restaurants and a lot more.
Similarly chat bots and robots are used at fast food chains and hotels to take orders from customers. Their orders are then processed and food plates come across via conveyor belts to be handed over to the customers’ tables.
Conclusion
These are the top 8 applications of Artificial Intelligence. You have many more fields where the true potential of AI is yet to be tapped. So be on the lookout for more innovations happening via AI.

Top Ten Games I Played in 2017
I don’t have the energy or money to keep up with modern game releases, so I kinda just dawdle along at my own pace. I have only played a few games that were actually released this year, so instead I just decided to make a list of the top ten games I actually played this year, which is a lot more than normal. I hope you enjoy!
10. Mole Mania Mole Mania is probably the best level based puzzler I’ve ever played. It’s super easy to play in short bursts thanks to the auto saving, which is good because I sometimes take up to half an hour to figure out one screen. It’s super challenging and addicting, has great music, and cute moles. I love it.
9. Cook, Serve, Delicious! I like cooking, and pressing buttons in specific orders, and multitasking in games, and this one has all 3 of those! CSD is super easy to pick up and hard to put back down, and even though I have no interest in 2, I’m still having fun playing the original.
8. Stormblood I’m gonna get the things I don’t like about Stormblood out of the way first. I don’t like the job retooling, at all, and I haven’t enjoyed the patch content that has come out after release. That said, the launch day content of the game was the best I think the they’ve ever put out. The new areas are gorgeous and new jobs scratched an itch for a lot of players, and the story of revolution across two continents was the most invested I’ve ever been in the story of FF14. While I’m not happy with where the game is currently, I had a fantastic time going through the main story of Stormblood and still look forward to where they take the game in the future.
7. Stardew Valley I literally only picked up Stardew Valley the weekend before last, but I’ve put 100 hours into it. At first I was completely baffled, and my girlfriend got extremely exasperated trying to explain the mechanics of the game to me. “How do I eat?” “Well how do I get energy back then?” “What do you mean I can’t go into other people’s rooms???” Everything about it felt so un-videogame like that it was a total shock. But once I got the hang of things I couldn’t put it down. Growing my little farm into an automated crop growing machine, getting to know the villagers of Pelican Town, finding a partner, and exploring the mines were all so much fun. Stardew is a game where you have to set your own goals, as the game doesn’t force you to do anything, which, when you aren’t working towards anything can make the game feel grindy, but when you do have a goal in mind, it’s an absolute blast.
6. Judgement Silversword: Resurrection Not the one on the Wonderswan. JSS is my favorite Shmup/bullet hell game. It controls really well, it has a really cool aesthetic, and feels super satisfying to progress through. There’s nothing quite like seeing
- WARNING -
HERE COMES THE
JUDGE!
MAGNIFICENCE]
and immediately being swarmed by guided missiles.
5. Pokemon TCG 2 Pokemon TCG 2 really surprised me. Like pretty much everyone who played it, I absolutely love the first game, but the main problem with it is that you can cruise through the whole game with one deck once you get the right cards for it. That is not the case in 2. The island has been invaded by Team Great Rocket, abbreviated GR, who have kidnapped the grand masters from the first game, and you have to get them back because who the hell else can, the cops? fuck em. You start on the island from the first game and duel your way through GR foes onto GR’s own island base. Many enemies will refuse to duel you without meeting certain conditions. Some will only duel you if you have only water energy in your deck, others if you have 3 Magikarp, or sometimes they’ll enact a battle condition such as electric type cards will do 10 extra damage when they attack. This forces you to constantly be changing your deck, figuring out how you can bend the rules to your advantage rather than just making a fighting/psychic deck and breezing through everyone without having to change a thing. That may not be for everyone, but I’ve had a great time with Pokemon TCG2, and I’m really glad that they decided to mix things up this way. ALSO YOU CAN PLAY AS A GIRL THIS TIME.
4. Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus Look it’s not just a titty game. It’s a story about personal growth, each character goes through trials and tribulations to learn more about themselves, find their place in life, and gain confidence. There’s numerous canonical lesbians too. And it’s fun. And you can get cute outfits.
I really like Senran Kagura.
3. VA11-Hall-A I finally got a chance to play VA11-Hall-A, and even though I’m only part of the way through it, it’s one of my favorite games I’ve played this year. Usually visual novels fail to keep my attention for very long but I spend hours and hours playing valhalla without even noticing the time fly by. Despite only interacting with people in the bar and browsing the internet at your apartment, the cyberpunk future world of vallhalla feels so expansive and alive, so much is happening and even though you never see it, you feel the effects through talking with your customers every day, essentially looking through a window into their lives. I can’t wait to continue playing it.
2. Pokemon Sun I checked out of Pokemon after the 3rd gen games, feeling that they had lost the magic that I felt from the first two. That was when I was 8 years old. 14 years later, after hearing glowing praise for the latest generation of Pokemon games, I decided to give it another go, and boy am I glad. My only insight into the details of previous Pokemon generations is limited, but apparently the more story driven approach of Sun/Moon was a new direction, and definitely the right one. Pokemon Sun managed to recapture the magical feeling I felt as a child, exploring the world, finding new Pokemon, making friends, and overcoming challenges, so much so that for the first time I decided to actually complete my Pokedex. I played this game all day for about 2 months scouring Alola for every last Pokemon, breeding them, training them, and trading them with friends. The world and characters of Sun/Moon felt so alive in a way that gripped me like few games do, and made me really happy, and that’s what I think games should be about.
1. Nier:Automata There’s really nothing new I could say about Nier:Automata. I’ve never played anything like Nier in my life. It’s incredibly emotional and thought provoking, there’s aids for people like me that are horrible at action games and just want to experience it, the music and environments are beautiful, you can fish, it’s got it all. For being part of a larger storyline as well it is incredibly accessible and easy to jump into. No other game has made me think so much about it even weeks after playing it than Nier:Automata. It’s really good you and should check it out.

Hong Kong—a former British colony, now an autonomous territory within China—is a vibrant city of nearly 7.5 million residents, all packed into an area smaller than 425 square miles (1,100 sq km.)
About 40% of the land in Hong Kong is set aside as country parks and nature reserves. As architects and developers continue to maximize the use of buildable land, apartment blocks and office towers reach for the sky, leaving Hong Kong with more skyscrapers than any other city in the world. Gathered here are recent images of the vertical cityscape, street scenes, monuments, people, and natural landscapes of Hong Kong.

Farm Report: The Calico Desert
Monday the 8th. Today, I need to go fishing. There are three fish that I need to finish the community center bundles - sturgeon, tilapia, and tiger trout. I need to catch the tilapia and the tiger trout before the end of fall if I want to get this done this year.
Linus has heard of my plight, and helpfully sent me a fish he caught. Sadly, though I appreciate the gift of a largemouth bass, it isn't one of the ones I need.
I've decided to get serious with equipment and buffs. I'm using the Iridium Rod, and will have bait attached to it. I've also crafted a few Trap Bobbers, which make it harder for the fish to escape.
Finally, the Dish O' The Sea grants a temporary +3 level bonus to fishing. Until this wears off, I'll effectively be a level 11 fisherman.
Just you watch, Willy. I am going to catch that tilapia.
...that is not a tilapia.
Neither is that, though it is interesting. Gold Star quality, even. But what do I do with it?
After a little while, Willy got bored and wandered away, and I started looking around for a better place to fish. Down at the end of the neighboring dock I spotted bubbling water. If there's anything playing Pokemon has taught me, it's that you always aim for the bubbling patches to catch the best stuff.
And there it is! All my work paid off. It wasn't even all that hard of a catch, at least with all the buffs applied.
I still have bait, the fishing level buff is still active, and there are still hours left in the day, so I decide to try for the Tiger Trout. I don't see any bubbling spots on the river, so I just aim for what looks like the deepest water.
First cast gets me the fish I'm looking for. That was almost anticlimactically easy.
With plenty of time left in the day, I do a bit of foraging. Blackberries are in season. Like salmonberries, they're really common for about a week out of the year. Unlike salmonberries, they're actually worth selling, giving as gifts, or making into wine or preserves.
Finally, I should really get to my farm chores for the day. The cranberries all came into season on the same day, since they all got the same fertilizer type this time. I harvest over 300 of them. These, like the blueberries during the summer, will be sold straight away as an immediate cash crop, being not really worth the time to make into wine.
I also decide to make a cheese press, as this is the best thing to do with all the goat milk I'm getting.
That's over 31K of income just from the cranberries. A very good day's profit.
On the 9th, Mayor Lewis has sent me a letter reminding me of the upcoming fall Fair. Oh, believe me, Mayor, I am keenly aware of the schedule and the special events upcoming this week.
Artichokes are ready for harvest, and as I already have the seeds I can just run down the row and seed as I harvest.
It had never occurred to me to put hazelnuts in a burrito, but if my pal Linus wants to try it out, I'm glad to help.
As I deliver the hazelnuts to Linus, he tells me of his problems. Linus, if you ever find out who did this, let me know and I will wreak terrible vengeance on them. In fact, I think I'll ask around and see if I can find who did it.
You didn't do this, did you, Sebastian? You do live near here and are the only person I know who's up really late at night...
Nah, Sebby's far too much of a sweetheart to vandalize Linus's tent.
Finishing off the two fishing bundles. I only have the Sturgeon left to catch, and I won't be able to do that till the winter.
While I"m here, I can also finish the vault room bundles. Unlike the other bundles, which require specific items, these are simply bought off with cash. There are four different bundles here with ever-increasing prices, but I'm just buying all four at once. I can afford it now.
The reward for the highest-level vault bundle is a Crystalarium. Nice. I was wanting one, and can't build them yet.
As is customary, the little gumdrops make their appearance. I don't even know why I'm startled, this is the third time I've seen this.
Glad to hear it, little spirits. Though I'm not sure why you needed so much of my money to repair this room for. Where does a little guy like you even go to spend cash? Do you have little gumdrop spirit stores? Because that would be adorable.
And the room is completed. At this point I only have four bundles left to finish - one requiring a fish, and three requiring animal-produced products. If my pigs, goats, and rabbits cooperate, and the fishing in the winter goes well, I should have no problem.
The Crystalarium has been installed and primed with an amethyst. This will ensure that Abigail's dietary needs are met once she's living here with me.
Speaking of dietary needs, that's another 30K worth of specialty fruit wine I'll be putting up for sale, as well as a batch of goat cheese.
That night, the spirits dance the mystical dance of auto repair around the bus.
Wednesday the 10th. Watering pumpkins, harvesting bok choy.
I head up towards the bus stop, drawn by wild plums and blackberries, and there is Pam, standing by the bus. It appears that since it's repaired now, she has resumed her old job as a bus driver.
She is of course grumbling at how this will interrupt her usual schedule of sitting around being drunk and surly. I'm just grateful that Penny will get some time to herself now, and what the extra income will mean for them.
Speaking of extra income, the bus tickets aren't cheap, but I figure it's worth a look. Off I go, in a bus repaired by magic forest spirits, driven by a quite probably alcoholic woman.
It's the Calico Desert! An entire new map region to explore!
There's new fruit to forage - cactus fruit and coconuts - which are good gifts for several townspeople and make expensive wine too.
This looks like it will be important later.
And then there's this inviting-looking bright pink building.
And this fascinating woman inside, who is surprised to see anyone out here. How long has it been since you've had a customer?
This must be Sandy, the friend that Emily mentions from time to time. I'm touched that she wrote to Sandy about me with enough detail for someone to recognize me on sight.
She's mostly just another storefront, selling seeds that can't be purchased from Pierre. Including starfruit, so my dreams of a vast starfruit crop are possible again. She also can be befriended, and given gifts, and has her own storyline, but sadly you cannot marry Sandy.
Who's this dude? Whoever he is, he won't let me in the back of the store. Must be where the secret Team Rocket base is.
There's also a suspicious cave outside, but when I go in there's only a small chamber and a locked door. I'll probably never know what's back there.
Well, that was a fun trip. Time to put my life in Pam's hands again for the trip back to Stardew Valley.
Pam drives better when she's drunk. Just ask her.
Thursday the 11th. Rainy day, and I am harvesting grapes, yams and eggplants. Yams actually make for one of the more valuable vegetables to process in the preserves jars, so I won't be selling these right away.
The walls around the animal yard have started to decay at an alarming rate. Walls have a fixed life, and when it is up they will randomly fall apart. I'll need to remove the rubble patches and replace them with freshly-made walls.
Today is Jodi's birthday. As a gift to her and Kent, I'm making their favorite foods - roast hazelnuts and crispy bass for dinner for their family, using the very same largemouth bass that Linus gave me a few days back. It's the circle of gift-giving.
Uh, Jodi? When was the last time you had Vincent's eyes checked?
Friday the 12th. Watering the pumpkins. I didn't use speed-gro on these this year, so they won't be ready in time for Abigail's birthday, but that's okay. I have an even better gift planned for her.
Tearing down and replacing yet more walls. These will crumble in patches until the entire thing is replaced. In retrospect, I should have torn down the entire wall and rebuilt it all at the first sign of failure.
My rabbits have started producing wool. Rabbit wool is quite convenient, it just appears in patches on the floor, unlike sheep wool where you have to chase the sheep down and shear them.
Checking out the Secret Woods to see what forage items appear here during the autumn. I find mushrooms. Mushrooms and slimes. I'd be more impressed if I didn't have a mushroom cave already.
With not much to do today - mostly killing time till tomorrow - I clear up some of the sticks and rocks that have appeared around the river. These gradually build up over time, and can be freely harvested for stone and wood.
Yet more fence damage. I'm glad to see that none of the animals have escaped.
Hanging out with my friends in the saloon. It's Friday, the usual night for people to gather and socialize.
Oh, sweetie, I have very specific plans for the immediate future. You'll see tomorrow.
