The new trailer for Pokémon Legends ZA has me so confused, honestly.

I cannot tell at all what time period this game takes place in... is it modern? The cars look modern, as do the clothes, but the city in the game looks... older. The style of the buildings feels older than in the original X & Y games to me. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm so lost looking at all this.

Also the starters??? I'm.... I mean, I love them all, but why are there TWO Johto starters?? Why are there two from the same generation this time?

Anyway. Slightly disappointed that Legends Z-A won't be taking place in the ancient past like Legends Arceus, but then I remembered the whole theme of Gen 9 and SV is Past VS Future, and I was like okay. Yeah. You get a pass this time that's actually neat

I was going to say that the Legends ZA graphics are muddy and flat and stir a sense of dread and despair in me but then I realized they're just trying to be authentic to the experience of going to paris

I've had some Legends-style starter evos in mind for a while, so I decided to design them in honor of today's announcement! Which one would you pick?

Cinderace is Fire/Psychic (playing cards theme), Primarina is Water/Poison (cabaret theme), and Meganium is Grass/Bug (avant garde/fashion theme)! I had a ton of fun with these and I can't wait to see which starters are ACTUALLY available in the game!
