Requested over on ao3! I went with a happy au for this one cause they wanted fluff and it fit better for this oneshot

“Do you think he’ll be surprised?” You asked as you were walking towards Mike and Steven’s house, holding a pokeball in your hand.

“Oh, absolutely.” Mike nodded in agreement as he walked beside you. “If you offer it to him, he’ll accept it from you, consider you are his partner.”

“I suppose that is true.” You chuckle a bit as you and the brunette continued walking, glancing down at the pokeball in your hand, which held a pokemon that you were going to show to your boyfriend, Steven. What had happened was: Mike had asked Steven to trade Miki to get the data for his pokedex, but you had a better idea, since you had a Charizard of your own, you figured you could breed them and give Mike the egg so he could raise his own.

What you weren’t expecting however, was two eggs waiting for you at the daycare center. You didn’t mind, really, you could just raise the other one and give it to a trainer starting out their journey or something. Or at least, that was the original plan. That all changed when the two Charmander hatched. One you did give to Mike as promised, but the other you just couldn’t give up.

“Y/n, we’re here.” You were brought out from your thoughts as you heard Mike talking to you.

“I just hope he won’t freak out or anything.”

“I doubt it. Come on, he should be here.” Mike opened the door and let you inside before following you into the house.

“Steven?” You both called out to the raven haired male, who soon walked into the room.

“Yeah, I’m here.”

“Great! Y/n has something they want to show you.”

“Oh, uh, alright. What is it, Y/n?” You gave Mike a playful glare before you walked over to Steven, placing the pokeball you had in your hand, into his own.

“Let them out, Steven.” He nodded in response and let the pokemon out from the pokeball. What he saw, however, was definitely not what he was expecting. What stood in front of him was…

“A shiny Charmander.” Steven just barely managed to get his words out, surprised to see the shiny Pokemon in front of him.

“Yep.” You nodded, a faint smile on your face as you watched him pick up the golden colored Charmander and hug it.

“This is amazing, Y/n! Also very rare, but amazing.”

“Agreed.” You went over to him and hugged him as well, the Charmander seemingly enjoyed the attention as he got closer to both of you with a smile on his face.

“And I figured… since he is from our two Charizard, we could… help raise him together?” Steven looked back at you, a surprised look on his face, before he nodded and kissed your forehead softly.

“I would like that, very much. Hopefully Miki won’t get too overprotective or anything.”

“Well just have to wait and see.” You chuckled a bit in response.

“Should we… give him a name?” You tilt your head to the side in a curious manner.

“I think we should.” Steven tapped his chin in thought, as if in thought. “Let’s see what we can come up with.”

“Well, he is like a golden color…”

“Gold? no, that doesn’t sound right for him.” You two continued mulling it over, throwing out ideas for names, either not liking them, or putting them into consideration. That is, until you came up with another name:

“How about Solaris? Since he’s golden like the sun, and Solaris is a name that means of the sun, if I remember correctly.”

“Solaris…” Steven thought about it for a moment, looking down at the Charmander in his arms, who looked back up at him and smiled.

“I think it’s perfect.”

“Then that settles it. Welcome to the family, little Solaris.” You pet Solaris’ head, who smiled more and nuzzled against your hand, letting out happy cries.

“I think he likes it, Y/n.”

“I’m glad he does.” You hugged them both, looking up at Steven.

“I love you, Steven.”

“I love you too, Y/n.” He leaned down and kissed your cheek, you giving him one in return. “Now come on, let’s go show Solaris the world!” You let go of Steven and grabbed his hand, him holding your hand now as you practically dragged him outside, smiling and laughing. Steven chuckled a bit as he followed you outside, Solaris happily following behind you two.

Steven: 24 years old; 190 cm / 6'3''

- Haunted by a hallucination of his dead brother that constantly reminds him of his misdeeds

- Fluctuates between a completely corrupted state (shadowed skin + red eyes) due to MissingNo.'s influence and a semi-conscious state (shadowed eyes) in which he sometimes gets lucid enough to question what happened that day

Glitchy RED: 26 years old; 182 cm / 6'0''

- Face always half hidden by shadows

- Despises people abusing glitches or bugs and thus despises Steven

- Always looks serious

Grey: 16 years old; 167 cm / 5'6''

- Constantly nervous

- Somewhat scared of (Glitchy) Red but also looks up to him since he's from "the original game"

Shinto:

- Mischievous

- Despises people cheating through any means, including glitches and bugs

- She found out that Grey is actually a real human's soul forced to possess the player character of their game and thus believes his "cheating" to be his human soul simply not adhering to game rules, allowing him to catch her by accident

- Has taken a liking to Grey and will (unbeknownst to him) protect him from people intending to cause harm

- Still scares him sometimes for fun

(Monochrome) Gold: 19 years old; 170 cm / 5'7'' (when alive)

- Is incapable of actually dying, constantly stuck in a state of pain

- Sometimes the Unown within him will take over his body for whatever reason, otherwise they will function like a hive mind allowing him to see through their eyes and float with their help

(- This was caused by Steven, corrupted by the glitch MissingNo. after Gold had found him in the Bellsprout Tower)

(Insomnia) Silver: 20 years old; 175 cm / 5'9''

- Skin covers his mouth keeping him from speaking

- He can cut/rip it open, but it will grow back in around a minute

(- This was caused by Steven, corrupted by the glitch MissingNo. after Silver confronted him seeing what he had done to Gold)

Mike: 4 years older than Steven, (28 years old); 180 cm / 5'11''

- A remorseful spirit incapable of moving on, bound to Steven after his death

- Contrary to the hallucination Steven is seeing, Mike can only be perceived by Gold

- Furthermore he is convinced that the person who killed him wasn't his brother / that something had forced him to do it

you know, I couldn't just animate Miki without her trainer I wasn't sure about his hair, most of the art I've seen pre-hypno's lullaby portrayed S!3v3N with kept, flowing hair, but at the same time, the "fanon" hairstyle looks very nice, so I did both. It was so much fun anyways, I'll definitely work with these kind of GB palettes again later.

Leaving this idea here because I thought it was cute.

Steven is canonically a gamer, so what about a little date with his partner? But what he wasn't expecting was to enter Y/N's home for the first time and find a HUGE collection of videogames. Old ones, new ones, classic ones, indie ones, everything. All of them on huge bookshelves, which are completely filled with just games. And every possible console, of course! And a huge TV so they can play the games on full HD!

While you and Steven had been dating for quite awhile now, going on about a year, you had never invited him over to your house. Sure, he’s picked you up from your house and such, but he’s never been inside. You just never saw the need to, since you two usually were out and about. However, you decided that you wanted a more… casual date, so you decided to let him come over to your house and play games with him.

You were brought from your thoughts as you heard a knock on the door. You already knew who it was, but you went up to the door and opened it, looking up at your tall boyfriend.

“Hey, Steven.” You smiled softly and moved out the way, allowing him into the house. Steven walked inside and you closed the door behind him.

“Come on, I’ll show you the game room.” You took his hand into your own and walked with him towards another room in the house. You watched as Steven’s eyes lit up while he looked around the room. In the room was several bookshelves filled with all kinds of video games: new ones, old and classic games, indie games, along with many different genres of games include fighting games, adventure games, RPGs, and much more. And in the room was every console possible, as well as a huge tv to play games on.

“Well? What do you think?” You asked him. He was silent for a moment, as if still in awe of your game room, before he turned to face you, placing his hands on your shoulders before he said:

“If I didn’t love you before, I definitely do now.” Which made you laugh a bit in response.

“I thought I told you I play video games?”

“Well, yes, but i was not expecting all of this.”

“Well, you’re more than welcome to come by any time and play games with me, Steven.” You reached up and kissed his cheek. “Now come on, let’s find something to play.” You walked over to one of the shelves and started looking through your collection, Steven walked up to you, now standing by you as he looked for a game to play with you as well. After a few minutes of looking, you had grabbed out (2 player game of choice) from one of the shelves, and hooked up the console before inserting the game into the console.

“You ready to play?” You asked as you and Steven sat down on the couch, you handing him the spare controller. Steven nodded as he sat beside you, taking the controller from you.

“Of course.” You started up the game, and the two of you ended up playing together for a few hours. As you two played, you made little jokes and comments here and there, occasionally having to pause the game because you two were laughing so much you couldn’t breathe.

Other than that, you two continued to play games until you got hungry, and stopped to make some dinner.

“Hey, Y/n?” Steven spoke up as you two sat down at the table.

“Yeah? What’s up?”

“How did you get into gaming, anyway? I’m just curious.”

“Oh! It was because of my grandmother/family member. She/he/they got me into playing games, and ever since I’ve just enjoyed them.”

“I see.” He smiled faintly at your response, and the two of you sat in silence for a few moments as you ate your dinner.

“How long did it take you to collect all of those games and such?”

“That took me several years, especially the older consoles and games as they’re more difficult to find than modern ones.”

“Fair enough.” Steven chuckled a bit in response. He was happy that you were also a gamer, and he was definitely going to be coming over more often for gaming dates.

“You ready to get back to the game?” You asked him, snapping him back to reality. Steven nodded and stood up, grabbing his plate and walked over to the sink, helping you clean up.

“You didn’t have to do that, love.” You told him as you put the dishes up to finish drying

“Y/n, I’m not going to have you do everything, I’m not heartless.”

“Thank you, I do appreciate the help. Now come on, let’s go back to the game.” You grabbed his hand and walked with him back to the game room, sitting on the couch with him beside you.

“Ready to get your ass kicked again?” You chuckled a bit, him playfully rolling his eyes in response. You two had been playing (super smash bros/other fighting game of choice) before you stopped to eat dinner, and the last round, you had completely defeated him.

“That last round was a fluke and you know it.”

“Sure, sure, let’s just play.” You two chose your characters and stage before you were back at it again, laughing and smack talking, in a playful manner of course, as the two of you ended up playing games together for the rest of the evening, until you two got tired. However, due to how late it had gotten, you had Steven sleep at your house, as you didn’t want him walking around late at night, despite the fact that you knew he was capable of making it home by himself, but you just wanted to spend more time with him.

i like to think Gold talks in a wheeze if at all, but the audio was too good to not use it lol. i guess it's just a habit to open his mouth despite barely a sound coming out
