I wasn't planning on starting any new projects and I don't think I have ever done a winter collection, but the spirits have other plans and I have been having flashes of doing this collection so here it is! A collection of herbal offerings inspired by the eternal twilight of the Northern forests and the folkloric devil. These are some of my personal formulas and plant allies that wanted to show up for this work Every collection is an intuitive collaboration between the plants and I. All of the formulas are created and blended by me. Enjoy. Devil's Due: this is an offertory powder that can be used to feed charm bags, fill poppets or make deals at the crossroads by leaving it in offering to Old Nick. It is a blend of a year's worth of arcane dusts, ash, powers and herbs. Among them life everlasting, cinquefoil, snake shed, crow feather, grave dust, ritual ash and many many more. The Devil's Door: a magical master key, comprised of diabolical power plants for opening and closing "doorways" To use simply draw a door where you wish there to be one. To lock the door, draw an "X" over it. Recanning Formula: three powerful and important plant allies for cleansing, protection and spiritual healing. Use as an anointing oil in healing rituals, apply to hands for healing others, or drawing healing symbols. To cleanse an area anoint all of the doorways, windows and corners of the room/house. Forest Floor Healing Salve: the forest is full of healing mushrooms and lichens that prevent infection and promote healing. This salve can be use to heal minor injuries, soothe skin issues and promote healing of scars. Sometimes we need the healing embrace of the forest, but find ourself far away from its sacred groves. Use this salve to transport yourself there. Ceremonial Smoking/Burning Blend: a blend of datura, amanita muscaria, skullcap and lotus. Use during ceremony to open oneself to the spirit world. The pre order is open for the spring Poisoner’s Collection! The theme for this collection is based on Thessalian Witchcraft. Thessaly was a region in central Greece that was known throughout the ancient world as a hotbed of witchcraft and a poisoner’s paradise. Women like Medea, Circe, Erictho, Chrysame and others astounded the ancient world with their power and knowledge, in many cases being vilified for it. They are the original models for the modern witch archetype, influencing the work of Shakespeare and many others. This collection is a tribute to these miraculous women and each formula is based on a the myth and legend of a Thessalian witch. I have included a number of different baneful herbs, which Thessalian witches were known for using. I have also collected other resins and herbal ingredients associated with this time period and part of the world. Each formula is created based on a specific area of working. Chrysame, for example will be a protective/battle magic formula because she used her magic in combat. Each formula can be used ritually based on its unique correspondences, for spell work and to channel the potency of the witch for whom it was made. Hekate- Enodia crossroads powder is one of my favorite formulas in the new poisoners collection. It is a crossroads offering powder that can be left as an offering at the crossroads or cemetery for spellwork and collecting materia magica. Embalmers Vintage Ritual Oil is a thick and ruddy infusion of herbs, a sickly sweet formula reminiscent of the fluids removed during the embalming process but that smell much nicer. Shapeshifting is a skill long attributed to witches, linking us to vampires, werewolves and other night spirits. Shapeshifting is an archaic concept found throughout the ancient world with prehistoric roots. It is a shamanic practice still performed among indigenous peoples around the world. Shapeshifting would be performed to gain strength, wisdom, or ability from an animal ally by taking on their shape in spirit. This is also a skill traditionally associated with witches who would transform into animals to travel to their sabbaths and perform magical workings. There are many flora and fungi associated with the ability to change one’s shape, and many of these botanicals are also entheogenic. As a magical technique, shapeshifting has a variety of applications. Through shapeshifting we can acquire desired skills and abilities associated with a specific animal. We can gain wisdom and insight by seeing through different eyes, and facilitate healing via animal spirit medicine.
