"My Mother's First Words"
As I searched the walls for the familiarity of an unloving mom under the sun,
I was met with nothing
And, so similar to the girl whose name I took
I called out to what seemed to be nothing
Once I mustered a mustardly, "something there must be!"
And someone she was. There!
The Mother of my God and brother, girl as I and even younger
Gathering her way into His light.
A warm breasted whisper, as un-grand as the birth of Christ Himself
What a fine lady, I call to rejoice.
"I'm right here," she says
"In my purples and reds and blues, I am here. I am with you."
My darling Mama. Of course.
She has always been
Since my birth and the birth of my father's mother's midwife's mother's child. And greatly beyond.
I ask her all the compassion and all the pleading of her being. And she grants with one ask of a kiss.
This was one year ago, she stays on my walls now
Can never leave my mom's house without kissing my Mother.
