one of my favorite things about "i always started carrying a tape measure after that"/"i was not aware that was a service i was supposed to provide" is that it highlights the diversity among butches. some of us (me) want to carry everything around, in case it ever is needed, and then we've got it. some of us (gideon my beloved) don't want to carry around all this nonsense and they're built for athletics speed. it's delightful--

ok so my grandpa made myself and my sisters these matching wooden rings and i wore mine literally every day for three years after i got it but unfortunately it broke :(( and i had to just carry it around in my card case right. so my wonderful incredible mother has been looking into rings and she bought a silicon one for a test and bro. bro. i am so happy. i am tearfully happy. i have fallen immediately back into habits i thought i had lost after my freshman year of college. like to be fair i never stopped doing the thing where i stick my pinky out when drinking from a condensated glass (i wear it on my pinky bc the og ring was too small for my ring finger) but like. i do the thing where i twist the ring. like i already am able to completely tune out the sensation of wearing it to the point where my brain goes DO I STILL HAVE IT and i literally need to look at my hand to find out. it's been less than a week. i am so happy. this is incredible. life is amazing.
