The next day...
I just wanted you all to know that the battle-hardened journalists and protesters out of PDX take days off as well. And get mixed up in catboy situations.
It’s just nice to see them able to post about more than white supremacists and chemical weapons and kids in cages.

Sometimes I have to remind myself of who people are.
Like, the PNW Youth Liberation Front had an extremely bad take about how journalists should put their cameras down and help de-arrest people. In other words, reporters should stop reporting and go fight cops.
And I was like
Yeah let’s just have the people recording evidence of police misdeeds with a modicum of protection just vanish into the night, great idea
Then I had to remind myself that the PNWYLF are a bunch of fucking nerd teenagers who call each other comrade, and absolutely no professional journalist would actually be like “yeah thanks high school kid, you’ve shown me the light"

Social Media Post #1 (Citizenship):
This is a retweet of Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler’s tweet where PNW Youth Liberation Front brings awareness to the fact that there is a considerable lack of action from the Mayor. The tweet is most definitely an example of citizenship as they are doing their part as a citizen and bringing awareness to the lack of action against gentrification and making sure voices are heard.

Oh shit, how did I forget the excellent PNW Youth Liberation Front. I’ve never been quite sure how they define “youth,” whether that’s exclusively or even partially minors, but if so that’s a good example of organizing like this. Either way they’re rad as hell
Also found the Zoomer Cannibal Collective of Carbondale while I was looking at their page
Sorry anon this is just me rambling and has very little to do with your actual question
my high school is reopening soon and some friends and i have been talking about trying to organize a strike to prevent reopening campus because that will literally kill people, and i was wondering if you know of any sources that could help with planning! we still arent sure about if we will be able to do it, but we figured it would be best to get an idea of what to do before deciding.
There’s a real lack of radical organizing resources for minors and it’s a massive weak point in our movement. A lot of us first got involved as minors, or at least wanted to, but I’ve never seen anything like a zine full of tips on how to do it. @antifainternational has a brief guide to starting an antifascist student club, but otherwise the closest thing is college-aged groups like YDSA. Someone with experience taking direct action as a minor should really get on that, with something more comprehensive than “you can totally join groups as a minor!” Anyway, your question. You should look up school walkouts that have happened in the past (there have been several), plus Fridays for Future and other youth climate strikes (there have been a lot). The trend I’m seeing is that most of these have involved students getting to school and then leaving in the middle of the day, rather than skipping entirely - which wouldn’t work if you’re trying to completely avoid exposure. Another option might be to stage a sickout
Good luck!

"cHECK YoUr LiBerAL PNW pRivilEge"
ah yes, seattle, a gay haven. also home to:
1. japanese internment camp history w the Remember the Pearl Harbor League (RPHL) and the Japanese Exclusion League
neo-nazi/racist skinhead hate groups like American Front, American Patriot Brigade, Aryan Skins Kindred, Atomwaffen Division, Crew 38, The Daily Stormer, Firm 22, Northwest Hammerskins, Pacific Coast KKK, Pacific Northwest Wolfpack Kindred, Patriot Front, Proud Boys, Respect Washington, Vinlanders Social Club, and Wolves of Vinland
Proud Boys and Respect Washington explicitly have chapters in Seattle while the rest are statewide
neighborhood/school segregation. Note that, among some other neighborhoods, white people of Seattle’s very expensive gay neighborhood Capitol Hill would explicitly ban african and asian american homeowners in the early 20th century
2016′s top 20% of income earners receiving 50+% of total city income
the US's 3rd biggest homeless population
denial of federal recognition/funding/human services to Duwamish tribal programs
one of the biggest black-white student achievement gaps in the US
a lawsuit by youth of color against state governor’s inaction on environmental justice being thrown out by state judge on basis of climate change politicization
police attending seattle pride 2018 just weeks after shooting black mother of four Charleena Lyles and 20yo Asian-American Tommy Le; protesting poc harassed (x, x, x)
TLDR; stop erasing the struggles of POC in majority white liberal areas. Especially LGBT POC!
#mine#idk#i went to a youth pride event recently and... all the friends groups that went there togehter were just so segregated by race#like i encourage poc to stick together & all but im so tired#seattle#pnw#antiblackness tw#racism tw#income inequality#colonialism tw

source. Proud Boys rally. Gonna be a day, from the sound of it.
No one expects the cops to enforce laws equally. No one. Not even the police chief.
Robert Evans (The Only Robert Evans)@IwriteOK
Portland Police Chief Lovell saying, "don't come to Portland to commit violence but also if you come to Portland to assault people we will take no action to protect them".
Image embedded in tweet is a quote from Police Chief Lovell: “Our message is: those planning to come down to engage in violence don’t come,” he said in a statement. “You should not expect to see police officers standing in the middle of the crowd trying to keep people apart. People should keep themselves apart and avoid physical confrontation.”
Again, thanks to @staff for not allowing me to put alt text in while on desktop. Not that I think they text would fit into the small amount of character space allowed on mobile.

To be fair some of these "organizations" aren't really comparable. Socialist Alternative can actually win local elections and get a city council seat, whereas I think like PNW Youth Liberation Front Seattle is literally just some Tumblr larper.
Seattle Anarchist Book fair literally just throws together a book fair once a year whereas like Valkyries/Sentinels/whatever other bullshit name they have are very likely the people who literally gunned down and pistol whipped two black teens to death during CHOP/CHAZ
I saw this "org chart" mapping out the Seattle activist community and:
Someone who is good at community organizing help me my activist community completely ineffectual and dying

Donation needs: coats, tents, wool socks, wool blankets, hand warmers, sleeping pads, sleeping bags, gloves, firewood + any other items that will keep our houseless community warm Donation drop-off: Peninsula Park or Abernathy Elementary Tues (today!): 9AM-7PM Wed: 7:30AM-3PM
Many stores lock up bags/tents, and warm coats are often tagged, but boxes of hand warmers just sit out on shelves. Blankets, socks and gloves are sometimes tagged. Look out for it. Stores keep firewood in easily accessible locations outside or by the entrance. Seems interesting.
