For those of you playing the NSO port for Red Rescue Team: remember that the old Wonder Mail codes still work! Here is a list with a bunch of them.
For those that don't know how this works: in the startup menu of the game, there is an option at the bottom that reads "Wonder Mail". You can put a 24 digit code in there that will grant you items, get you special missions, etc. You will receive them in the mailbox once the right code has been redeemed and saved.

to be clear i don't think tpc posting a single emoji reply to the rrt port announcement is enough to actually like... mean anything. i don't think there's any use saying this is evidence for a new pmd until something more substantial comes up

back at it again with another ref sheet that required an arm, a leg, my soul, and an unhealthy amount of references to make. it's for my pmd rrt/brt/ dx partner character, mangrove.
there's a ton of info that the sheet references but doesn't fully explain so i'll add it below in case anybody is interested
mangrove's ability may be sheer force but the only thing you'll want to 'force' is his head through drywall. he's such a brat. he was a major bully as a child and since nobody put him in his place, he grew up and evolved into an adult that knows his strength and knows exactly how to 'push' people in the right direction to get them to do what he wants even if that means getting somebody else's hands dirty. and nobody can do anything about it. fun.
mangrove is the son of high-ranking officials within the exploration federation; he's a nepo baby and he's proud of it. mangrove only ever established an exploration team as a coverup of 'collecting' items in dungeons and selling them to the kecleon brothers for ludicrous prices under threat of shutting down their business if they fail to comply. it's mostly the same thing for the rest of the merchants in pokemon square.
he formed a team with the hero character simply figuring out that he could use their amnesia for his own personal gain by making them do all the fighting for him under the guise of 'teaching' them. bonus points if the hero character eventually gains a dependence on him for knowledge, shelter, and food. he may not know much about humans or cryptic visions, but he does know how long certain pokemon can survive without food or water... do with that information what you will.
he's also known for being particularly violent in the theme of socially harassing and embarrassing people who piss him off but most of the time, he resorts to petty blackmail or extortion to get his dues; very rarely does he resort to physical violence unlike what the 'brass knuckle' objects on his hands might suggest. and fighting him is like trying to force your bare hand through concrete; he's got solid physical stats across the board and he equipped a detect band so that enemy hits rarely land. not to mention the fact that he's also a poison-type and the quills along his back detach. going for a blow should probably not be your first option when dealing with this monster.
despite his horrible reputation (literally nobody likes him) and nasty personality, mangrove does care about the people he uses including the hero character. he'd be loathe to lose one of his most prized (and skilled) possessions and as he would see it, having somebody in his corner is more important than any fancy jewel. he'd never say that out loud though.
*just to be specifically clear about his variant, it's a tropical sea variant from a region somewhat close to unova. this guy has the most stereotypical boston accent, it's ridiculous.

if you followed me because of the hero partner week event, tysm, that's very sweet, and i wish you the best :-)
i tag "pocket monsters mysterious dungeons" for my pmd stuff.
i have pmd wips to share, and i will keep drawing pmd-related stuff into the foreseeable future, but this blog is mostly for non-pmd stories. also, i take requests*. more on that below all the art
long-term, i have "testing patience" which is a successful gti giftlocke (long story short, i played very carefully & no one fainted). i have a lot of drawings and short comics i want to make for this
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the picture above and below that features beth the chikorita is from a wip video that's kind of the prologue to testing patience. it's set to the minecraftparody song "don't mine at night" just because.
Tumblr media
i also have a few things relating to my rrt team. i'm not sure if i'll finish the second one, but they are both comics about gardevoir cutscenes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and a few misc. pmd pics here and there. like these
Tumblr media Tumblr media
but for the most part i share art relating to my stories. and those stories involve human characters. (ok, 1 story is about vampire people that do magic, and another's about werewolf people, but they all mostly look human, so yeah).
i draw my main characters, like lad and vertig, most of all.
sometimes i draw fanart for things i watch/play. if that's not your jam, no worries, and take it easy out there!
*no promises that i'll draw any requests, but the option is there, especially if it's a pmd team you have references for, or it's related to something i've already drawn before. said requests will likely be sketches & in a more simplified style
& if it's about pmd npcs, i'll assume you're asking about the designs i draw instead of their canon ones unless otherwise stated (like how the silly thief grovyle i draw is a turtonator/grovyle fusion, or like how i draw more complicated mons off-model. stuff like that)

Monster Houses are an interesting bit of design. I remember being a new player, fresh into Red Rescue Team, and I was pretty nervous about them when I ran into my first. In the early game I generally avoided them unless the stairs were literally in the Monster House. Even then I tended to make a rush for the stairs. On occaision I'd use seeds or orbs to clear the way. I played that way for the entire story of RRT.
In the post game I got access to Heat Wave, and being that I rarely switched from the Hero, that was my go-to for Monster Houses. Beyond that I never had a real plan beyond brute force.
It wasn't until Explorers of Sky that I got smarter about it. Since screen-nukes weren't a viable option, I learned a better method: if I saw a Monster House ahead, I would make the rest of the party wait in the hallway, and then I would go in alone to trigger it. I then went back into the hallway to funnel the mons into a chokepoint and picked them off one-by-one, only switching places with my Partner if I needed healing. It was a step in the right direction, but it wasn't perfect. Of course that was also when the typeless attack was still a viable means of damage.
Gates to Infinity didn't really have much in the way of Monster Houses back when I last played it. It took until a long way into the story before I actually ran into one. That said, GtI also wasn't as punishing as the prior games, so there wasn't as much pressure to improve my tactics.
Then Super Mystery Dungeon happened. That game broke a LOT of my bad habits from the other PMDs, but the biggest one was my tendency to hoard items! The first difficulty spike the game threw at me threw me so off my game that I finally opened my bag and unloaded every stick, pebble, wand and orb I needed to get from point A to point B.
I ended up getting through the rest of the game doing that. Especially once I started gobbling down unattatched Emeras for the free stat boosts. Stick sniping was my favorite passtime on my way to the many bosses in the latter half of the game. I literally used up every stick I picked up, bought or stored. By the time I hit the final dungeon I was rocking Iron Thorns and when you're cracked-out on Emeras those things do a SHITTON of damage.
And, as you can imagine, that made dealing with Monster Houses INFINITELY easier. I still used my old strategy of funneling mons for a while, but eventually the sticks I was throwing did so much damage I could legitimately clean house as soon as I stepped into it.
The most important thing I learned from my experiences with Monster Houses is that if I had used ALL of the resources I available to me AND applied some thought, there's a genuine chance I could have gone into most of the mid-to-late game dungeons in the earlier PMD games with half as many items, cleaned out every Monster House on the way, and STILL made it to the boss with PP and Max Elixers to spare.

Does anybody actually avoid Monster Houses? Whenever there is one, I always go to it and most of the time I just e nd up leaving the treasure there anyway because my bag is too full.

OOOOH PMD
I had only played RRT at like Age 6 before Super came out, and played that. It wasn't until February of 2020 that I went back to buy Explorers of Darkness for like 20€.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon and Pokemon Rangers are great Series (played Shadows of Almia & Guardian Signs)
I've seen a Video on Fossil fighters but don't remember anything from it.
I have the silly games
