SO idea!

i always had the thought that apex has a insane phobia of dogs. like insane insane. even puppies. idk why tho any i just wanna know ur opinion.

In Cosmic Contest, it's seen that a Pointyhead saw some dogs and immediately decided to run away from them out of fear.

Although, I think if he had a phobia of dogs in general, it might be normally Pac-World's dogs. They're loud, they're fast, they have SHARP TEETH. Even if they were a friendly one that doesn't smell any sort of danger on him, he'd probably be afraid of it if it started to bark.

I think the main reason for his phobia would be that they're loud, he's not used to creatures that use such volumes normally and it scares him. Almost similar to the sensation of hearing a balloon pop, it just hits with shock and a little anxiety spike. Even if you hand him a small puppy that's happy to see him, he'd probably back away in case it wanted to yap a little bit.

I think it might fit him in general, he probably feels all high and mighty with his robot and probably feels kinda powerless without it protecting him. So when he's on the ground, he's on the constant move to protect himself, (I saw in the second game that any sudden noise from when he's not in robot protection, he will be startled and try to swipe or hit whomever.) poor guy's jumpy from noise.

Because of this twit, I motivated to write some hc about the shipping Spectrayus (Betrayus x Specter)!

✨Headcanons about Spectrayus✨👻

• Betrayus sometimes tried to go on dates with others to make Specter jealous, but didn't work because he's so miserable at getting it, nobody likes him. And besides Specter isn't very jealous to say least.

• Although they assume have nothing in common, eventually realize otherwise as they get to know each other better.

• Betrayus in his affectionate way, if his partner pampers him enough, he's assured of receiving an expensive gift.

A way of urging him (?).

• And believe it or not, it's not always all fights and arguments. They can also have their healthy convivialities such as: watching action movies, dancing, putting on makeup together, shopping, drinking too much, hating Pac-Man and enjoying talking about evil things with touches of dark humor.

• Betrayus his reason for being with Specter is due to fully overcoming his platonic infatuation with Spheria, and other painful situations by her. And another reason, wanting to learn and be taught how to seduce some other suitor, having the related null skill.

• Specter and his reason, it's in his interest to pursue his goals, to be a ruler and to dominate Pacopolis and Netherworld. So he can see the opportunity to establish in regaining his trust and submission in order to manipulate again. But he knows it'll be difficult.

• Fun fact, Betrayus being dark gothic in appearance, only likes to listen to pop and kpop genres, and Specter likes rock, jazz and symphonic/dramatic orchestra music.

• And speaking of music, Specter usually sings in private, so Betrayus when hears him casually, stays listening to him discreetly because enjoys his voice so much.

He even wonders if Specter was a singer at some point.

• Betrayus' favorite peculiarities/favorites of the spy are his voice, his slender body and his scent.

And Specter also has his favorites, being his eyes, hair and metallic claws hands'.

• Betrayus has a need to sleep with one of his stuffed animals, now he does it with his partner.

• They both commonly love to dress and model themselves in elegant Victorian Gothic and Renaissance style clothing, the way of each other having fun in a romantic way.

• The "affectionate" pronouns given:

With Betrayus; Hot-head, grumpy shark, mustache fish and Drama Lord.

With Specter: Chili piquin, toupee, Spectro and Pretty Boy.

• At the beginning of their relationship was in secret but soon in a few days the rumors and fact became public. Not because what their ghosts people are insightful, but because the two fire ghosts they're so vain, conceited and daring what fails to try to be discreet.

• About Specter's low level of jealousy. The occurring factors for that to happen, is when an opponent arrives who represents a real threat as to draw attention to Betrayus, an intimate intention with the same purposes.

And the witty thing happens next, Specter on the defensive, gets more overbearing in a persuasive way, and to prevent it, by bragging with his displays of his own agilities so as to mock and boost his haughtiness and ego, and at the same time, get Betrayus' attention again.

Does Hell and Heaven exist in your pmatga aus? If so, does the Netherworld count as it's own version of Hell or is it a separate thing?

If they're all separate things in your aus I'd be hocked! I'd love to see your interpretations of them!

I was writing a whole-ass essay to this question when I realised that I was drawing it out unnecessarily 😅 SO I've decided to rather move the bulk of what I wanted to write into a separate post that focuses on my headcanons for the Netherworld and its reason for being.

So, short answer:

Heaven and hell do exist in most of my PMATGA written work, but they are separate from the Netherworld, in which the Nether acts as a border between eternal life and eternal death. The Nether is where ghosts go when they are not at peace and remain in limbo (or have unfinished business, so to say.)

This is not comparable to the concept of purgatory though, nor could the Nether be considered an equivalent of hell, even though it may have similarities. The Netherworld doesn't qualify for the rules and definitions of purgatory, nor does it portray the same amount of suffering that you would find in hell. But I'll elaborate more in that future post about headcanons for the Netherworld.

On the other hand, I also feel a bit inclined to headcanon that the Netherworld is not the type of 'afterlife' that we think of when we think of heaven and hell - rather, I wonder if the Nether is just a different dimension entirely, and the only way to access it is either through portals or through an abnormal separation of one's body and soul (like bodystripping) in which a person's soul is trapped in a different dimension (Netherworld) while it's body remains unconscious in the former dimension (Pacworld).

So, to sum it up, I hc that Pacworlders do believe in a heaven and a hell, but the Netherworld is a separate realm that comes prior to any sort of final/eternal afterlife.

- Favorite thing about them

Honestly? The fact that he plays the bratty dictator role as well as he does. Usually those types of characters aren't popular but he makes it work. I don't even like bratty characters. You can ask anyone who knows me well enough, I notoriously bicker about bratty characters. And yet I adore him for it. He carries the whole show.

- Least favorite thing about them

The fact that he actively runs away and fears the front line fighting role. At least in the show. Its been shown multiple times in the show, even in the games, that he's hella powerful. I get that it's partially because of his role as a general so it would make sense. But what I wouldn't give to see more of him throwing hands w Pac instead of shrilling and running away flailing.

Hard to say given PMATGA is literally "Everyone hates Betrayus" the show, but oddly enough the brOTP that I like is literally him and his bro. Even if they don't get along I know that Betrayus values family to some degree. There's an episode where Pac goes to a bad end future and Betrayus had taken over Pac World, but instead of outright killing the brother he seems to hate so much he kind of just... keeps him around? It couldn't be to gloat, many many years had past and Stratos was very much brain dead and zombified. You could argue it was for plot (yeah obviously). You could argue it's to get information about the repository.... but as I had mentioned, enough time passed for Stratos to grow old and grey, and Betrayus seems to have given up the idea of finding the whereabouts of his old body. Heck, he was even thrilled about seeing Pac who had went missing, and he supposedly hates him. A part of me believes he does love his bro, and would never wish something like death on him.

Don't really have one unless we're including crackships, in which case Zs'Skayr x Betrayus that @6clawdy6 and I made. Never really found a ship between canon characters I was fond of... Betrayus is very hard to love.

I might get some flack for this one because I know it's a popular one, but Specter x Betrayus. Could never get behind it. They very clearly hated each other in the show. Specter was literally banished to the depths of hell to shovel hot dragon shit for trying to double cross Betrayus (not even a joke).

- Random Headcanon

The gloves he wears are often described as prosthetics. That gave me an idea. I have a hc that he became a powerful fire ghost because the repository had a meltdown when he had his ghost stripped of his mortal body. The result was really crisped hands, severe aching pains, and untamed fire magic. Those clawed gloves act as a power represent and a pain reliever of sorts. Like hand braces.

-Unpopular opinion

I honestly don't know if there's an unpopular opinion regarding him given with how small the fandom is and how my involvement in it has been minimal, but if I had to say... I'm not a fan of the idea that he's a redeemable villain if he was shown love or sympathy. I'm under the impression that that man is not the same as before and he's far too gone to be truly saved. Little to no empathy in that ghost's black charred heart. At best he can tolerate people begrudgingly, but even that's being generous.

The other night I was looking at the different voices that the voice behind Betrayus did and evidently they also had a brief running as Sonic from the Underground series, mainly for singing purposes. I listened to it and I thought that it was dripping with Betrayus' voice, which made me think that maybe Betrayus could sing to some extent but he can only sing rock and grunge. Like, he thinks it's his secret talent but everyone that has to put up with him everyday already knows.

(I’m deeply sorry that I never got to this right away, anon! My brain’s basically been in fanfic land for a month, but better late then never, I guess! *sheepish*)

(No, I totally didn’t forget to post this for 2  months.... *sweats*)

(Keep in mind, these might be pretty random, so bear with me)

- It’d be cool for the world that we’ve grown to know to get expanded upon, and for us to see what’s outside of the city we’ve spent two seasons in.... After all: “There’s more out there”

- I’d feel like it’d be a little similar to the first two seasons in tone , but it’d be slightly different as we’d get more character development out of this one...

- I’d love for any of those little plot points mentioned in previous seasons to get revisited again, like what Apex mentioned about Pac’s parents, and the little thing those Eldrich gods mentioned about Pac becoming strong enough to beat THEM....

- And hey, maybe we’d find out WHO hired The Pacinator from that one episode in this season, or at least get a glimpse of who did..... *cough* eighties cartoon *cough*

- You know, Japan does have  with ghosts and other assorted creepy things, so there’s plenty of cool ideas for any new enemies Pac and his friends might encounter....

-(Also, it’d be cool to see some yokai inspired beasties in the show for Pac to go up against)

- We’d probably get more backstory out of the show, like about the world in general , and how exactly Eli’s mom knew Pac’s parents.....

- And yes, there’d be more war backstory! :)  

-(A personal hc) Pac’s pretty clueless about his heritage , other than what the Prez has told him, he basically knows almost nothing about his people’s history, so he jumps when he does get the opportunity to learn about his history....

- And let’s just say, not all that he learns is gonna be pretty...(Aw jeez, I’m trying to

- Maybe it’d be hinted that Spheros may be lying to Pac and his friends about something important, but I’m not sure I want to interject my own theories just yet....(spoiler: don’t trust Spheros)

-(I mean, I have my own theory on why Rotunda  never mentioned the fact that Spheros and Betrayus even HAD a sister or a niece before, *cough* some rather nasty personal business with the unnamed dad in this equation*cough*but that’s for another time)

- Selencia( the fabled sister we heard mention of in final episode ) has a lot of secrets of her own , and she has barely spoken (or had any contact)to either of her brothers for years.... and that may or may have something to do with a falling out during the first ghost war....

(Yes, I chose for Sel and Bet to have actually had a good sibling relationship)

- And yes, it’d be expanded upon somewhat in the show.... ; )

- I’d really like to think that we’d get some additional development of Eli’s character, being that she was pretty one dimensional ,and a lot of people kind of dislike her as it is...  So we’d probably see her gain more of a character as the story goes on, and see some growth from her as well...

- And there’s the matter  of Eli’s missing dad, (I have a theory on that, but in context of the fic I’m writing, it’s a little spoilery) and how exactly Betrayus knew him....

-(This is a personal one because I ship a certain pink ghost with a certain yellow orb) I personally don’t think Pac and Eli would wind up together in the show , my take on their relationship would wind up with them being friends, (because platonic male female friendships are a real thing).

- Also, there’d be a ton of cute moments  between Pinky and Pac for those of us who enjoy shipping the pink yandare  with the yellow beachball.. ;)

idk if i've ever mentioned it before (i probably have and i just forgot lol) but she has fire powers like her dad! they aren't as strong as his are though bc she's still alive and fleshy and made up of water. she really doesn't use her powers for anything more than lighting a cigarette when she can't find her lighter, however; that's bc she can't control them all that well. like she's not accidentally setting shit on fire left and right (not since puberty at least), but if she has a great emotional outburst (especially an angry outburst), Bad Shit might happen. thankfully blair didn't really inherit their father's temper so Bad Shit doesn't really happen all that often. don't get me wrong, they Do have issues with anger but that's more due to trauma than anything related to bets (plus she deals with her anger issues in a different, yet still unhealthy way)

is the type to wear axe body spray in lieu of Actually showering because "it’s basically the same thing, right?"

prefers nightclubs to house parties.

another thing that i don't remember if i've ever mentioned before: they were on the track team back in high school. their coach once told them that if they worked hard enough, they could really go places (funny how that worked out). she's not nearly as good of a runner than she used to be, but she can still, say, outrun a swarm of ghosts if she tries hard enough (adrenaline is crazy man)

their last name, spellman, is a surname they decided for themself. and even after reconnecting with their mom's side of their bio family, they still keep their last name as spellman. it's Important to them.

has little to no social media presence. like they have accounts but they never post, they mostly just lurk

she accidentally burned down the last place she worked at (a 7/11). an argument between her and a coworker got heated (pun only slightly intended) and…well. i'm sure you can guess. thankfully no else aside from blair & her coworker were there and they got out more or less fine, so she didn't kill or seriously injure anyone (and she's lucky she didn't). and bc they could never really prove it was her---everything pointed to an electrical fire, even if they could never figure out how the fire got started so quickly nor why it didn't spread beyond the store---she never got in trouble for it nor did she have to pay for it. it scared the shit out of her though, and ever since she tends to stay away from the vicinity.

if he were in the show, there'd be a running joke abt him having Just So Many shitty jobs. does he just quit/get fired a lot, or does he actually have 15+ jobs? we will never know. for example: waiter, late night gas station attendant, cashier at pacmart (walmart), working the drive-thru at pacdonalds (mcdonalds), pacbucks barista (or maybe starpacs? idk), the guy at a water park who tells you when you can go down the slide, etc. he has so many jobs and he hates every single one of them.

has a semi-popular youtube (pactube?) channel. all his videos are either "sitting in my car or on my kitchen/bathroom floor" style rant vids or 1-3 hour long vids on a hyperfixation-induced rabbit hole he'd gone down.

prefers house parties to nightclubs.

has pretty bad insomnia. he's lucky if he gets 4-5 hours of sleep a night.

he's a college dropout (mental health reasons + mid-semester identity crisis) and was majoring in marketing prior to that. he currently doesn't know what he wants to do with his life and doesn't like thinking abt it bc thinking abt the future scares him.

orbitalia spheros

she’s betrayus & stratos’ half-sister and her bio dad is japanese (or pac-japanese? since tokyo is called pac-tokyo). she didn't meet her bio dad until later in life, as rotunda never told him abt orbitalia's existence. things were shaky between the two of them at first (orbie & her dad i mean) but they're more or less alright now

sunny and orbitalia were best friends back in high school. they drifted apart some in college but they were still very close. orbie & zac were Also friends but weren't As close as she and sunny were.

she Does Not have a good relationship with either of her brothers; she's never really been close with either of them tbh. it's mostly why she almost never comes down to pacopolis except to pick up elliptica whenever she visits.

has made a few attempts to get back into the dating scene over the years, but each and every time these relationships end up dissolving bc her heart's just...not into it (and also bc well. never receiving closure on whatever happened to her husband kinda makes it hard for her to properly grieve which makes it hard to Actually move on). she's still friends with most of her exes though.

was Not A Fan of his in-laws. this is mostly for two reasons: 1.) if there is one thing that both of the spheros brothers are equally good at, it’s at testing the patience of everyone forced by social convention to interact with them, and 2.) orbitalia told akahiro Some Really Concerning Shit abt growing up with rotunda as a mother and stratos & betrayus as brothers. y'know that thing where you're telling someone what you think is a funny story only for them to look at you in horror bc it was actually traumatic? yeah. so while he was willing to be civil for orbitalia's (and later elliptica's) sake, he didn't really go out of his way to be overly friendly to them.

is a transhet man (he/him), he & orbitalia were t4t

liked wearing boots with slight heels (much like his brother-in-laws ironically enough). not really so he'd seem taller (he was 5'9" and was perfectly content with that) but bc they looked good and that's it

was quietly self-confident. he looked good, he was good at what he did, he knew it, and he didn't necessarily feel the need to flaunt it (those kind of ppl annoyed the hell out of him tbh).

that being said he Did have some insecurities, mostly abt whether or not he was actually a good husband and (later on) a good father. as i've said before, he wasn't the most emotionally demonstrative person in the world and he worried abt whether or not orbitalia & elliptica knew that he loved them. orbitalia did (even if she did occasionally have her doubts bc anxiety be like that) and elliptica did too (at the time, at least. nowadays elli's not entirely sure)

gwendolyn hollow

you know how i once mentioned that she uses secret tape recorders to record things? yeah. she does that so 1.) she doesn't have to just rely on her poor memory, 2.) she can decipher anything she doesn't understand later, and 3.) as a sort of audio diary.

is an appreciator of small things, like buttons and strings of ribbon, rocks, animal bones, and such. sometimes she will stare at little things that interest her for so long that griffin or even the good doctor pacenstein himself have to tell her to “move along, girl.”

slightly related to the above hc: pacenstein & griffin call her "girl" a lot. keep in mind she's at least 20 years old.

her middle name, elizabeth, is derived from pacenstein's ex-fiancée elizabeth from way back in the 1800s. and yes it's fucking weird that a.) griffin let his great+ uncle name his first and only child and b.) pacenstein named his grand niece after his ex. like sure it's just her middle name but still. weird shit.

isn't allowed to interact or even show her face to any visitors to pacenstein manor. this is bc the last time she interacted with a visitor (it was literally just to take their coat), they took one look at her, got freaked out, and made an excuse to leave. she was never really told Why but was led to believe it was bc she resembles her great-uncle. it's not.

genuinely doesn't know Jack Shit abt almost anything that's happened outside the castle and what little she Has learned has been history from like...200 years ago, so nothing recent. a whole fucking WAR happened within her lifetime and she's completely unaware of any of it.

griffin hollow

as the caretaker of pacenstein manor and the only one who can/is allowed to leave the castle, he’s usually the one who takes care of dr. pacenstein’s personal affairs---gathering supplies and equipment for them both (yes sometimes this includes Literal Graverobbing), arranging meetings with potential clients, and finding out any recent developments in pacworld (never hurts to keep informed!).

is really fucking cowardly and tends to bend towards dr. pacenstein's will, especially where gwen is concerned. he is Far Too Willing to throw her under the bus if it means getting his great+ uncle's approval.

much like his great-uncle (and much like most of his contemporaries tbh), he believes that his intelligence is far superior to most people’s and that others should be grateful to bask in his presence. unlike his great-uncle (and most of his contemporaries), however, he also knows that this isn’t a stance that endears him to others, so he usually shuts up abt it.

he doesn't express anger in the traditional sense. like he won’t yell (most of the time), get physically violent (again most of the time), or even directly tell someone he’s angry. instead, he chooses to express anger by doing this…passive-aggressive, just downright weird shit whenever he's mad abt something. like "accidentally" locking someone in a room/out of the house, hiding things (usually sentimental possessions or necessary items like keys), turning off the heating/air conditioner with no warning, etc..
