Honestly, I could understand Oom, and I felt a lot of compassion for her, but I draw the line at this heinous action, which I simply cannot condone :

Pluto is my favorite GL series to date. Made me cry so much (almost as much as Namtan). I'm definitely going to rewatch this one at some point.

I see people mad because they didn't get a proposal scene, but that's just fanfic fuel. We can write them a hundred proposal scenes

If anything, I felt Oom assumed that May and Ai would go behind her back rather than both of them sticking to the agreement, and when she finally understood how much that was hurting everyone, she relented. In that sense she did "give permission", but not because she felt that permission was hers to give, but rather because without it she knew Ai and May wouldn't even try to be happy.

i really don't see ep 12 as her giving ai and may her "permission" to pursue a relationship? if anything it was more so her finally recognizing the sacrifices both of them have made for her, taking accountability for causing them pain, and letting them know they don't have to do that for her anymore.

and like it or not oom DOES have a role in their relationship, it's uhhh what happens when you pretend to be your twin sister to break up with her gf for her and end up falling in love instead while still pretending to be your twin sister 😭 it's why oom tells them to let go of their current relationship and build something new, something away from the lies that ai and may's first relationship was founded on.

if you're mad at her for this then you might as well be mad at ai for not telling her sister to fuck off earlier and at may for not telling ai to tell her sister to fuck off, or for walking away when ai didn't. but fundamentally that's not who these characters are and that's been known from like. episode 2
