I go back to black...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Throwback to decidedly warmer temperatures! I met up for Buchteln & chill (the sweet dish pictured above) with two of my friends and afterwards we went to goth club "Fledermaus" (literally translates to bat) for dancing. I had lots of fun with my friends ♄
My point of fashion was hearts on that day, and i accessorized accordingly. The Hello Kitty on my shoulder bag is wearing a heart eye patch, I'm wearing red heart ear studs and melting red heart hair pins as well as two heart necklaces - one with a sweet heart and one with an anatomical heart (made by a dear friend of mine). My black lace over-skirt is handmade (I'm wearing thrifted knee-length jersey pants underneath).
[Image description]Picture 1: A mirrored image of Amy (me). Amy is a white, young, fat woman with long brown hair worn in two braids and wears glasses. She's dressed in all black for a visit to the goth dance club, starting at the top with a black viscose top featuring rows of little silver crosses. They reflect prettily in the light! She's wearing thrifted knee-length jersey pants with a handmade lace over-skirt above, the skirt has been tied with a beautiful bow in the front. The over-skirt completely hides the fact that pants are also involved in her outfit. Black strappy sandals finish the look off, as well as pay homage to the heat. Her accessories are red and silver and follow a heart-theme. She's got melty heart hairclips in her hair, heart-shaped ear studs, two heart necklaces and the Hello Kitty on her little shoulder bag also wears a heart-shaped eyepatch. Hello Kitty is a pirate this time, complete with a ghostly glossy ship silhouette!
Picture 2: A white oval plate filled with a sweet dish called Buchteln, they're filled with powidl jam and served with vanilla sauce.
Picture 3: A closeups of Amy's (my) head. Her brown hair is adorned with two stacked glittery red melting heart hair pins. The heart theme is continued with red wooden heart ear studs.
Picture 4: A close-up of the two stacked necklaces Amy (me) is wearing. One has a small silver chain with a clasp and a dark blood red anatomical heart made from polymer clay on it. The second, longer, necklace has loops of silver wire connecting white pearls, with a big silver sweet heart pendant one it. The heart pendant is topped by a pretty little red bow made from satin ribbon.
Picture 5: Is the unmirrored version of picture 1. See picture 1 for description of Amy's (mine) outfit. [/image description]

Die Vampire laden zum Tanz
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I dressed as my favourite musical for the musical party at the end of September! My favourite musical is Tanz der Vampire (Dance of the Vampires) and of course I had to incorporate my Witches' vest into the outfit (because obviously) and red accents & accessories for a blood theme. My new red hair bows went well with that!!
Me and two friends (one doesn't want to be included in pictures) visited the musical party event held by the theatre company. They celebrate known cult musicals and introduce the new musical, that will be introduced this season. We got a sneakpeak for "Rock me Amadeus", a musical based on the life's story of one of Austrian's most famous rock stars Falco! After having lots of fun at the musical event we went to a nearby Japanese restaurant and had the most delicious food. Spy my yummy 3 courses: vegetable gyoza for a starter, green ramen noodles and a melon pan with azuki ice cream for dessert.
Outfit rundown:
- hair bows from Claire's
- red short- sleeved t-shirt (second hand for free)
- black lacy blouse over the t-shirt (second hand for free)
- handmade vest/ gilet
- handmade pointy black skirt (I randomly made this skirt a couple years ago in a spur of the moment. It's amazing!)
- black tights and booties
- black shoulder bag with red details and pentagram (forever in my collection) [there's also a black bat plushie hugging the bag but you can't really see that in the pictures]
[image description]Picture 1: Two young, white women posing together. One is thin, the other is fat. (I'm the fat one). Both have brown hair and wear it in two braids, though the thin woman has noticeably shorter braids and bangs. The fat woman has very long hair and thus braids, and is also wearing glasses (her friend has none). The young, fat, white woman (me) is wearing: a red t-shirt, with a black sheer lacey blouse on top. The shirt sleeves stop before the lace, so you have a bit of lace with only her arm underneath, which gives a pretty effect. Over the shirt and lace blouse (both thrifted) she's wearing a handmade vest with a witchy themed print on it. Her outfit continues with a black pointy circle skirt, with additional layers of tulle for decoration. The edges of the pointy skirt are also decorated with lace (because the answer to lace is always yes!). Black thights and booties finish the bottom off. For accessories she's got bright red velvet hairbows, a necklace with an anatomical heart on it, black lace fingerless gloves and a black hand-held fan.
Her thin friend next to her is wearing a brown beret, a cream-coloured blouse with red decorations and an embroidery-like print which features big roses. She's wearing a cameo brooch pinned to the neck of her blouse. Her outfit continues with a highwaist skirt in dark red (blood red maybe?) featuring a gorgeous fairy tale-esque/picture book-esque print showing scenes from the musical "Dance of the Vampires". It's not officially affiliated, but for fans of the musical it's clear where the inspiration came from. The picture book drawings even show the famous bed featuring in the scene of the "Carpe Noctem" song! White tights and black shoes with cute bows on them finish the outfit off.
Picture 2: A close-up candid picture of Amy (me) standing among the crowd watching the musical show on stage. She's turning around to look towards the picture taker and smiling.
Picture 3: A close-up candid picture of Amy (me) taken from behind. She's happily watching the musical show on the stage and quickly fanning herself with a black fan with white mountains drawn on it.
Picture 4: Amy (me) and her friend waiting in line for the musical flea market. One is thin, the other is fat. (I'm the fat one). Both have brown hair and wear it in two braids, though the thin woman has noticeably shorter braids and bangs. The fat woman has very long hair and thus braids, and is also wearing glasses (her friend has none). Their both dressed in gothic lolita fashion, with a vampire theme. (For a detailed description of their clothes, check picture 1 please.)
Picture 5: The delicious Japanese food I've had! On top of the collage of pictures are the surprisingly big vegetable gyoza, followed by a bib beautiful ramen bowl, with noodles, green vegetables, spring onions, sprouts and a juicy egg. The third image shows dessert: a melon pan, which has been cut open, with a big scoop of azuki ice cream inside, with some azuki bean sauce, an orange slice and mint for garnish.[/image description]

Gothic Lolita Austria is organizing a BIG teaparty this year! (With international guests and all! Our first one since the pandemic hit a stop button on such plans.) I'm so excited for the Royal Symphony of Roses teaparty we're organising for June 8th 2024. I'm part of the organization team this time around (for previous teaparties I was a shop-assistant-chan and helped my friend out selling her beautiful jewelry. In the meantime I've infiltrated the lolita ranks further and can now do even more work! Haha. It's fun though!)
I wanted to look back to the last one we had! It was ~HalloWien~ in 2017. HalloWien is a pun/wordplay on Halloween by the way. Vienna is called Wien in German (what we speak here) and as the date was very close to Halloween and our last big teaparty was Gothic-themed and next to the big cemetery in Vienna HalloWien was very fitting!
You can read what I wrote a couple years ago, I'm just adding an image description now.
Picture 1: A picture of the fashion show, with a tall blonde model showcasing "A Full Moon Night" by designer Haenuli. I'm in love with the phases of the moon design on the bodice and the skirt of the black dress and the sheer blouse they paired with it.
Picture 2: A group picture of ALL the lolitas who attended HalloWien teaparty! You can see from the dark colour scheme that most everyone went with the Gothic theme.
Picture 3: A close-up selfie of my friend & me (Amy). We're both young white women with long brown hair. My friend is thin and wears her hair open with bangs, and the way she holds her head in this picture gives her a snake-like appearance. I'm fat and wearing rimless glasses and wearing multiple braids, further decorated with added black ribbons braids. I'm wearing a bat-like half-bonnet with a dark red (blood red! think dried blood) flower-crown in front of the half-bonnet. I shared one of my face tattoo bat stickers with my friend, so we match. And of course I'm wearing some jewelry from her - an anatomical heart to fit my vampire queen vibes!
Picture 4: A picture of a tram way in front of the main entrance of the Viennese Zentralfriedhof (Central Cemetery).
Picture 5: A picture of a young, thin, white woman with pale-pink hair worn in soft curls. She's wearing a white fairy-like coord with handmade translucent fairy wings at her back and a delicate white crown (decorated with roses) on her head.
Picture 6: A picture of a young, tall, thin and white woman with brown hair, worn in an up-do and decorated with a hair veil. She's wearing a black elegant blouse and a JSK dress with a galaxy theme print on it.
Picture 7: A picture of a petite young white woman with light brown short hair, worn in two pigtails. Her pastel coloured coord features a dress with a medical themed print, hence she's wearing an ey epatch to match the theme. I especially love her lavender and white striped socks too!
In this picture you can also see more of the background most pictures have been taken in front of - it's an elegant sofa, with a taller sidetable with a silver candelabra on it. There's a cute little pumpkin too! Behind the sofa are windows and you see a peak of the outside and some wooden lattice, that's behind one window
Picture 8: A close-up of me (Amy) outside the building. I'm a young fat white woman with long brown hair worn in many braids (with added braids made from black ribbons) and also wearing rimless glasses. My (rare) make-up is dark to fit the vampire vibe: the smoky eyes almost disappear on camera but you can see my blood-red lip and my bat sticker face tattoos. I'm wearing a bat-like half bonnet and a dark red (think dried blood!) flower crown. Some fir trees are behind me and I'm making the "off with their head" hand gesture. Here you can also see the dark red cutsew (decorated with lighter red lace I made for the occasion and the ~Queen of Bats~ JSK dress in black and grey with lots of bats on it. (Also handmade by me.)
Picture 9: A picture of a young, thin and white woman with long brown curly hair. She's wearing a brown bonnet decorated with lace and flowers and a pretty brown shawl (decorated with pins & brooches) over her chocolate-brown lacey blouse and the lighter cream-coloured dress with a fairy tale print on it. Individual fairy tale book pages are framed by brown vines. She's also holding a red apple, which gives a clue that the fairy tale her dress depicts is Snow White.
Picture 10: A screenshot from the movie The Craft, with the four teenage witches exiting a bus and telling the driver "We are the weirdos mister".
Picture 11: Six young white women posing in front of the Ronacher theatre, decorated with larger-than-life vampire fangs for the famous musical Tanz der Vampire (Dance of the Vampires). We enjoyed the musical with the visitors from Russia. Everyone has dressed for the occasion and we're giving major vampire vibes!
Picture 12: Last but not least is a meme I've made, of my French friend & me sitting on the picture taking sofa. Our faces are censored and we're proclaimed as (not so) anonymous sewing addicts. On the bottom is the logo of Textil MĂŒller, a famous local fabric store with amazingly low prices (The buy & sell second hand ware, B grade, leftovers from business closings, etc) .
My friend is wearing a classic lolita coord, with a handmade hat (by herself) and an earth-toned JSK dress with a book print. In this picture you can see more of my bat-themed dress as well.

HalloWien - the people make teaparties special ♄ (Part I/english)
Every two year my local lolita community hosts a big teaparty. This year was one of those years!
Tumblr media
HalloWien - a spooky gothic lolita event next to the cemetery! was this year’s name and the first time that our teaparties had a kind of theme. Of course it was up to everyone to come as they like, but you could expect much more gothic lolitas than usually. After Metamorphose and Innocent World as guest in previous years, 2017 special guest was Korean designer Haenuli. She showed some of her famous dresses, as well as some new ones in the fashion show!
Beware, a long, rambling & very excited retelling of the HalloWien-teaparty follows after the cut! ♄

Come and join our dance
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Walking dead or sleeping dead? I was dead on my feet after the concert / mini-festival for sure! (5 bands for 6 hours.) Zombieball means Dance of the Zombies and fittingly happened on halloween!
Originally I planned to sew myself a new dress to attend this concert but couldn't find the motivation to start on that and then found out I had too little of the fabric I planned to use anyway. I decided to wear my Queen of Bats dress, the first lolita dress I've sewed a couple of years ago. Still absolutely in love with that stunning fabric!!
I wanted to coord it with red, because blood. Very vampire-ey! And because I don't wear my red platform boots enough. They're pleather and will eventually fall apart sooo I need to wear them before that happens. The boots are sadly not as comfortable as I'd like but not painful (at first) either.
Anyway. Going with my bloody vampire theme I made a new flower crown for the event. I absolutely love flower crowns and they are definitely a signature look for me. I had these gorgeous fabric flowers already, that look a bit wilted and decaying yet still very beautiful and ethereal. Which goes perfectly with the vampire theme if you ask me. I sewed the red flowers down on black elastic (so it blends in a bit with my brown hair. Brown elastic would be even better but I don't have that.) and closed the elastic into a loop.
I figured a pretty vampire/bat was costume-y enough. Besides I've attended the concert mainly to watch the band Lolita Komplex (friends of mine) and they incorporate lolita fashion aswell into their stage outfits. I like to wear lolita to see them to signal that I'm here for them.
I got many compliments for my dress and outfit on that night, which always makes me really happy. Especially because usually I'm rocking something beautifully handmade! A drunk woman at the bar also complimented me - and I shouted back along the lines of thank you, that's so nice, I'm happy and I made it myself. She was super amazed!!
This group of people also asked me what I'm dressed as and I said Queen of Bats, and when I left the venue one of them was also leaving and shouted: goodbye queen!

Last autumn my local lolita fashion community had a coven gathering for Halloween. One of our friends is a talented photographer (hane.iro on instagram) and invited us to this witches themed shooting. It was so much fun!!
My witchy outfit is completely handmade and I just recently finished the blouse and gilet before the meeting. I've been meaning to make the gilet vest and finished it with the shooting in mind.
