I didn't expect studying MBA level economics would suddenly make me madly interested in politics. It's like the only thing I've ever read/considered that has given politics the contextual layer and reality to make it real and interesting to me.
#macroeconomics is the interplay between policy and tested/documented free market response#but the people voting-in politicians based on platform (policy approach) have no economic background#and the politicians themselves only very rarely have economic backgrounds#plus you then have to balance this issue that whatever happens with policy OR market has delayed reactions and within that time lag#people's quality of life is impacted#it all suddenly starts to click into place as a 4d model in my head#usually this only happens with me with legal contracts (they are 100% 4d models in my head the way clause interplays work and only trigger#under certain circumstances)#anyway i have been fascinated with this unit in a way i did not expect to be#avoided all kinds of social sciences in school (i was all hard science calculus and literature only)#(makes the architecture route my odd form of rebellion i suppose)#assignment submitted. now I have a break for a few days then into exam mode.#personal

so i’m going to try and do a ... brief... ish write up of the sw verse with just the bare minimum. so here goes.
the star wars universe takes place ‘a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away’ so even though it’s ‘futuristic’ it’s technically all ancient history.
there’s three main settings for the movies at least. the prequel trilogy, the original trilogy and the sequel trilogy. for my blogs there’s also the old republic, which predates all of the movies.
the old republic was thousands of years before and was the peak era of the Force users - basically ... space wizards. there’s ‘good’ and ‘bad’; the light side and the dark side of the Force. good / light side users are generally Jedi; an ancient civilization that takes in children of all species and teaches them to channel peace and balance and are raised to serve as guardians, ambassadors, peace keepers (and protectors when need be) of the galaxy. ‘bad’ / dark side users are typically the Sith. they tend to be driven by what we consider negative emotions and while they have had whole empires they tend to be pretty back stabby and treacherous and as an entity tend to be pretty self sabotaging. (plus, being homicidal and genocidal tend to not make you a lot of friends.) they can also be pretty speciest depending on the era.
the old republic was pretty much the peak of the Force users, with Jedi and Sith pretty prevalent. civil wars happened, the galaxy kinda went to shit and over time the force users kinda dwindled down in numbers, and it was believed that the Sith were predominantly killed off.
there’s a lot of different names for the galactic governments over the millennia. in prequel era was predominantly ruled by The Galactic (or the Old) Republic. this ends up being turned into (”legally” of a sorts) into The Empire, whereas the opposition to the Empire is called the Rebellion. Eventually this is ‘freed’ from the Emperor’s grasp and becomes the New Republic. in the sequels, the New Republic is opposed by The First Order, which is attempting to take back control and is secretly controlled by the Emperor (spoilers I guess, who is not actually dead).
the policies on slavery, trade monopolies, piracy and what not tend to fluctuate pretty broadly depending on who is in charge.
there’s a few other groups of note (okay there’s more than a few but i’m trying to keep this brief). the Hutt Empire is one of the most notorious for black market items and controlling the drug, weapons and slave trade. (also, they’re giant slugs.) the Mandalorian’s role varies based on the era but they’re pretty significant too. the Bounty Hunters are a whole galactic guild and there’s a lot going on there. there’s also other species / planets that hold monopolies or a pretty tight chokehold on certain things such as cloning, ship manufacturing etc. depending on when you are in the timeline.
there’s also ‘the clones’; an army of (millions? trillions? idk) clones based off of jango fett, one of the most elite bounty hunters ever. these clones were created (supposedly) to serve as allies to and soldiers for the Jedi during the prequel trilogies (and the show the clone wars) to help stamp out rebellion and to keep the galaxy at peace while the separatist’s were protesting and various other dramas were going on. in reality (spoilers) the clones were actually designed for the primary purpose of Order 66, an edict issued by the Emperor in the end of the prequels to eradicate all of the Jedi, leaving Palpatine, a secret Dark Lord of the Sith unopposed to rule the galaxy and do whatever he saw fit. some of the clones were able to resist, or had their chips removed; some survive. the whole thing is very unhappy making as they were only created to kill and die and had a shorter life span and in general there wasn’t every really plans in place for them to retire or live a normal life because it was expected they would just all die in the name of the Republic/Empire but anyways. yeah those guys are pretty important too.
there’s alllll kinds of alien races. some humanoid some not. all colors, shapes, sizes, moral alignment, histories, etc. there are also droids, with varying degrees of awareness and personality.
space travel is pretty much an everyday occurrence, though per usual accessibility and speed and quality vary. travel at light speed or faster than light speed is called traveling through hyperspace. there are laser weapons, space stations that can destroy entire planets, energy shields that range from personal to planet wide. mining and terraforming. good guys, bad guys, crime, rebels, those that think they’re doing the right thing but aren’t, those that know they aren’t doing the right thing and don’t care. it’s a whole, vast verse. i think ?? that might be the bare minimum? if you have any questions or want me to expound on anything in particular feel free. i’m gonna do mini blurbs for my characters soon too, hopefully today.

A Conversation With Doral Council Candidate Oscar Puig
As part of our election 2020 coverage, we are conducting interviews with all candidates for local office that have chosen to accept our interview request. All candidates have been contacted. Oscar Puig is a 20 year resident of Doral, a vital part of its founding, and an active leader and participant in many of the city’s civic organizations. He is running for Doral Council Seat #3. Oscar endorses J.C. Bermudez for Mayor and Claudia Mariaca for Council Seat #1. He has been endorsed by J.C. Bermudez. In this article, The Doralian is proud to present it’s first interview. Let us know what you think! If you have any questions please DM. Please like, comment, and share! *This is not an endorsement*
Interview Transcript
Doralian: So, I want to start off by talking about your platform. Here at The Doralian, our goal is to inform the public. Unfortunately, many voters struggle to understand the stances brought by candidates for local office. Could you highlight maybe 2-4 pillars of your campaign that you want voters to know?
“1) Number 1, I would call continuation. We have built a wonderful city. Since I was involved in the creation of the city, I was one of the co-founders and we saw how the city deteriorated and zoning changes were made (before the city's incorporation and during Luigi Boria's mayorship) that weren’t supposed to be made and that's one of the things that I want to prevent. So, the continuation of these last four and the previous ones during JC's first years in office I think is important to maintain and have somebody that has the time invested like I do in the city for many years. That's one.
2) I think that with this pandemic, we will see a difficult time ahead of us because of budget shortfalls, as a lot of people are without a job. That's going to affect a lot of projects because of property taxes. People losing their homes. So I hope to be a voice to find solutions to help our residents, our business, so that if affected, we continue to ask the federal government, the state, and the county, for funds to help the citizens and the small businesses.
3) I am also big on two other things. One of them is small business. Aside and before the pandemic I was supported by 15 good, small sized business that have been here for a long time and I see that there's got to be a movement to help and facilitate the process of the city, which already started, I know that JC announced in their state of the union, several things that are going to help the small businesses and streamline the processes of the city, and I want to support that and make sure that small business can also do marketing events with the city. Marketing strategies with the city that can help them grow and ultimately push the theme that will help people understand that they can eat here, that they can play here, that they could have a good nightlife here, they can eat here. It's changed a lot, so you don't have to drive anywhere else. So, if we can, as a city, start a movement to keep people to spend within the city, they will help small businesses a lot.
4) The last one is the special needs and the elderly programs. I support them 100% and anything we can do to make them better. In the city of Doral, we have a lot of participants in Special Olympics. We have a great special needs program and I want to support them and the elderly of course, our most vulnerable, especially during these times when they're alone. So, look for ways that we can, even if it's digitally, help them not be alone and satisfy whatever needs they have.“
Doralian: The reason I’ve invited you here today is to try to highlight some of the distinctions between you and other candidates. My next question is, whether it involves your qualifications or policy stances, what makes you different from the other candidates?
“I don't think I like to talk about my differences with others. I'd like to say that my experience within the city, I've been involved since the year 2000, in many, many ways with schools, with the parks, with the city committees, selection committees, park director selection committees, and years back the city attorney selection committees. Important committees that I've participated in to service our community with my family and their families in mind. Just making sure that, like I said before, that we have a good transparent and effective government that represents the best interests of the residents at large, whether they vote or not. It's important to represent everybody and that the city is in good shape. My qualifications are my experience and dedication that I've given for the last 20 years to our city.”
Doralian: What is your individual take on the city’s public transportation system? What direction must the city turn to improve its public transportation infrastructure?
“As a city, for 20 years, we’ve done a lot to improve, but at the same time, we went from 20,000 to almost 70,000 residents, plus the 100,000 when we include all the people that come in and out of the city to work. It’s a positive, because we have a good base of employment and a good base of residents but at the same time it creates that whole complicated issue of traffic. I therefore believe that traffic is not just a Doral issue, I believe that Doral and every city in Miami Dade County and the County has to sit down and start looking for solutions of mass transit. Expand the rail. The growth we have had as an entire county has not been followed by investment needed in mass transportation. So, if we think of Doral only, we are not going to solve it, because when Palmetto and Turnpike are, you know, a bottleneck, there's hundreds of thousands of vehicles stuck there for hours, it's going to ripple down into the city because people cannot get on the highway, so then eventually creating traffic within the city. That's where we see most of the traffic, when people are going to get on the highway. And when you look at Doral during the weekend, we have very little traffic, if any, which is a great thing for us. So it's all created by this large base of businesses and residents that we have that are active during the week. So, I think this is a regional problem and we have to look at it that way, but continue to invest as a city: opening streets like we've done many, many times, we're now going to open 25th street to the turnpike, an exit and an entrance, so that's going to help traffic on 41st and 12th, even as high as 74th street. The major problem is regional, we have to make sure that we start investing in that and I want to be a loud voice to bring that to the table.”
Doralian: So, you mentioned rail for a second there and one mayoral candidate has proposed lobbying the county to bring rail to Doral. Do you support the expansion of Miami-Dade's Metrorail to Doral?
“I support it anywhere it goes. We will have to look at where and how, of course, those are things that are important, but in general, yes, that's what I'm talking about when I speak of mass transportation. But more than that I think Kendall area, a train from Kendall to the East and to the North is important, these are areas that are very effective because of the lack of mass transportation. Because we have rail here in Doral and some of our residents do take it. We have now a bus system that goes straight from the new area by 12th street all the way to downtown and those are great solutions. We need to continue this.”
Doralian: My next question is an attempt to understand what kind of development you would encourage while in office. I'd like to ask, in your vision of a future Doral, what does the city look like to you? Does it look more urban? Is there more mixed-use development like CityPlace or Downtown Doral in which residential districts are heavily mixed with entertainment districts? Or does it look more suburban, more classical Doral-like? Something like Doral Isles or Islands at Doral.
“That's what I'm talking about when I talk of a master plan. There's going to be areas that are going to be preserved as the more suburban, which is the West side of Doral, even though there was an application that was approved on 107th and 74th that brought some buildings. But still, now it's back on track, like the mayor says, so that shouldn't happen anymore. We have a good master plan now that prevents things like that from happening. I support that masterplan, we have to tweak it but yes, on the east side I support what's going on with Downtown Doral and CityPlace because one of the things that's going to prevent the traffic is the presence of an area where you can live, work, play, and learn. It's important because you don't have to get out and get in the car to do grocery shopping like it happens in Downtown Doral or take your kids to school or any of that. You know, you don't have to get out of that area at all. As a resident, you have it all there. That's a solution to traffic. People like it. I think a lot about the people that live in those areas and they enjoy it a lot. It's an easier life when you don't have to drive somewhere to eat or take the kids to school. I would embrace those.
Doralian: What specific policy proposals do you suggest for the city to help local struggling businesses?
I think again we have to find a balance, I think we are at a balance right now where you can go out and make sure that we continue to protect ourselves but at the same time closing businesses I don't think is the right solution. I think we have to, again, have a balance, make sure that businesses and people are following the CDC guidelines and whether they're in or outside the city. So, to me it’s important to have the economy moving because it could be a disaster later on to have the economy affected. But at the same time, we need to be proactive in getting involved and being part of the solution.
Doralian: Are there any candidates for the other local elections that you would like to endorse?
Yes, Claudia Mariaca and J.C. Bermudez
Doralian: Any closing comments? Is there anything you want residents of our city to know?
Yes, there is something that to me is very important. It's participation not only when you go out and vote but also participate as a resident in many ways and hopefully things will go back to normal soon and you can participate as a resident. Doing something that adds value to the city, to the residents, being part of the committees, getting involved with the parks, non-profits, the Chamber of Commerce, we are now going to have a Doral Contemporary Art Museum. See what's going on, the schools, the PTA, that's how I started, with the Chamber. To start getting involved and bringing solutions to the city I think is very important. I'm more than open to helping and guiding everyone that is interested in coming on board and knowing what I did and how I did it so they can do it better.

The corporate world is going digital and remote working is on the rise. While permitting employees to work from home, away from a corporate office, has been around for a while, remote working is now becoming mainstream. One may see more and more companies not investing in huge office spaces and employing resources who can work for them from home. While this may seem like a pro-employee practice, it is a game-changer for the employer. The business world is obsessed with millennial’s right now. The generation come-ups with a new corporate ideas everyday, and aren’t afraid to express them in a creative way.
What is remote working?
Benefits of remote working
Misconceptions about remote working
How can you transition to remote working easily for your organization?
How to define remote working policy in your company?
Top 10 companies in India that offer remote working
You could be running a media company, a tech studio, a production house or a retail model, having your employees working remotely means fewer cost heads and more productive work culture. So, what do you mean by remote working? Are you considering it for your setup? If the answer is yes, you need to know a few things before you go for it.
What is remote working?
Remote working is the flexibility given to an employee to work at his/her own pace and space. So, when you hire someone, you don’t have to worry about making him/her sit in your office. You could have them work from home or from a co-working space or coffee shop, whatever suits you. Also, if you don’t have to pay competitive market salaries. A lot of remote employees work on an hourly basis or as consultants for multiple companies, hence, their fees are not what it would be if they were working in a single corporate set up.
You could have a system where your employee works from home for most of the week and meets you once a week for updates and meetings.
One may see a sudden rise in co-working spaces too. These places act as centers to facilitate organic working without worrying about unwanted guests, connectivity issues and a not so conducive working environment. Co-working spaces also give your employees a chance to network. Since a single center holds multiple organizations across industries, it is possible that your employee can get you business deals, prospective hires and also act as promotional channels for you.
Now that you are clear about what remote working essentially is, you might want to understand how it can benefit you.
There are plenty of benefits of remote working for employees and employers, ranging from higher productivity to happier, healthier work cultures.
Benefits of remote working
Flexibility
This is one of the most obvious benefits, and it seems more in favour of the employee than anyone else. But, if you think again, you are also working remotely as an employer. You don’t need to sit in an office with your team to get your work done. You could be vacationing with your friends or spending quality time with your family, your work does not suffer and you don’t have to face the brunt of Monday Morning Blues and a deadline on Friday. Flexible working means flexible lifestyle, and that gives you as well as your employees the chance to live their dream of travel, pursue a hobby of cooking, follow their passion for dance and still work and make money. Since travel to work does not apply to you or your team members, you can start your day early and finish in good time to take your dog for a walk, run errands or just be present at home when your children come back from school. Since physical presence is not required, it is the perfect setting for pursuing a Master’s degree, a language course or a training program that just doesn’t happen in a 9 to 5 scenario.
Better Health
One may have never heard of remote working employees getting stressed out with work. They have high motivation and higher morale to work which means more productivity and lesser chances of attrition. In India, most big cities come with the havoc of long-distance daily travels and pollution, a huge matter of concern and the number one cause for stress and fatigue. There is also no stress of dressing up and fitting in. You can work in your pajamas in your balcony with a pedicure happening on the side, and you’re still more productive than your in-house counterparts. Less stress and fatigue also leads to lesser absenteeism. Your employees are so comfortable and at ease with this setup, they don’t feel the need to skip work unnecessarily.
New Passion and Drive
Remote workers work better than the 9-5 force. They are more inspired, motivated and comfortable working with lesser distractions and counterproductive meetings. It brings with it a new passion, perspective and drive to perform and make time for other things. These employees excel in their work, achieve goals and even go the extra mile since they perceive their work to be more like a reward for themselves.
Higher productivity
Studies reveal that remote employees love the perks of their work so much, that they don’t mind putting in a few extra hours or go beyond their scope of work because they are highly motivated. One study stated that 65% of full-time employees had increased productivity when asked to work from home.
Cost-Effective
If you are running a company of products and services, you can do away with the cost of office rent, electricity, supplies and furniture. Employers can save a substantial amount of money per remote worker per year, even if their entire team is not working from home.
Engaged employees
If a highly motivated team with better productivity isn’t enough of a carrot, one can offer remote work opportunities to keep their employees happy and engaged. More and more people today are quitting their jobs to work remotely and some are even willing to take a pay cut to work from home. Remote employees have reported being happier than non-remote employees, which means you have a consistently performing team always.
Misconceptions about remote working
There could be a myriad of benefits of remote working, but it also comes with its setbacks and misconceptions.
Miscommunication
A very common misconception about remote working is that it creates miscommunication. While remote workers don’t bond over coffee breaks and don’t indulge in water cooler conversations, one can have a good team-building exercise done over video calls, offsite meetings and team lunches. With the present-day set up of video conferences and WhatsApp calls, no team member is far behind in communicating their needs and requirements with others. Nothing gets missed out unless the intent isn’t there. Since remote workers have major FOMO (fear of missing out) they tend to take extra effort in establishing a bond with their team members.
Remote workers always work
Remote working means no fixed schedule. While this is the biggest plus of working from home, it could have a setback of constantly being nudged for work by colleagues and superiors. One must strike the right balance and manage time well, so the employee does not under-work or overwork themselves. You can chart out a time slot most suited for you, set expectations about deadlines and stay committed to it to avoid work-related issues.
Remote workers don’t work
While remote workers are not valued by every organization, some still feel remote workers don’t work. Since there is no monitoring of time and productivity, people live under the impression that a remote worker wiles away his/her time in doing nothing since he/she is not watched upon. On the contrary, remote workers work better. They have their own special time schedules. Some prefer early mornings, some are more productive at night, but whatever they do, they get the job done. Some interesting statistics about remote working as per global surveys and studies:
More than 50% of the Indian working population work remotely half of the week and about 11% work outside their main corporate office.
53% of remote workers were shown like to work overtime beyond the call of duty as compared to the 28% of 9-5 office goers.
80% of remote workers reported improved morale.
37% of men and 31% of women worked from home at some point in their lives.
66& of workers stated that working from home led to increased productivity and output.
Almost 69% of the workforce in India agreed that flexible working hours means a greater work-life balance.
How can you transition to remote working easily for your organization?
You can begin by talking to your team and analyzing each employee and set a fixed scope of work.
Identify potential remote workers in the organization and talk to them personally.
Come up with a carefully thought out strategic plan to organize the process of transition from a 9-5 force to a remote group.
Ensure you have the essential tools, technology, resources and software to fit a remote working culture.
Build a culture of mutual trust and understanding to have better efficiency, seamless communication and higher productivity.
Create an online communication system where all members can participate freely and effectively.
Train your remote workers to be responsible for their own tasks and provide them with training sessions and all the required resources to do their jobs effectively.
Create a well suited remote working policy for your company, compliant with Indian working laws.
How to define remote working policy in your company?
Now that you’re convinced you to want to hire remote workers in your organization, you need to understand a few things before you define your working policy. Each individual works differently, so before you chalk out your do’s and don’ts, have a good chat with them. You can cover the below-mentioned points in your conversation and then on your legal document.
1. Frequency
While some of your employees may want permission to work remotely for the entire week, some might like to come to the office on a few days every week. You could leave it to them to decide their convenient time or define a time slot that works for you. Whatever the work may be, you must get time management issues out of the way before you move any further.
2. Model the policy
If you want your employees to work from home comfortably, do it yourself. Once they see everyone doing their job well from the comforts of their home, they are more likely to do so with better results.
3. Don’t seek explanations
If you’re giving them the flexibility to work from home, don’t devalue it by asking your employees to give you an explanation for it. There could be someone with a medical issue or with personal problems, small kids, ailing parents, etc that makes them want to work from home, but talking about it regularly with them can be a little stressful. Instill faith, build trust and strengthen your relationship with your team to reap benefits from your remote workers.

Aurora, [29.08.17 00:06]
I cant just take a breath. There are things that need to be corrected in society.
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:10]
things that affect me directly...
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 00:10]
Like what?
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:12]
Sexism, non-universal profit based medical care, bigotry, the fact that hate crime laws are either nonexistent or really shit in most places in the US, the fact that its legal to discriminate against me in most places, including my home.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 00:14]
And how do you plan on fixing all of it?
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:18]
Fighting back against it through lobbying and protest.
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:20]
and sadly, politicians need that constant force against them or the whole thing becomes fruitless.
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:21]
and when you have a lot of people who don’t think it affects them and thus they need to do nothing, it leads to the attitude of people who do have the power and clout to change it feeling that there isn’t any point in changing.
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:22]
If I were to be inactive on subjects that I deemed didn’t affect me then I would be sealing my own fate because I would be ignoring the start of something that has the potential to affect me in the future.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 00:27]
That's all well and good but "fixing" one problem won't be the end of it one problem leads to another and so on. It's a vicious cycle.
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:28]
That’s why a broad front steadily pushing forward is far more effective than single issue idpol.
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:29]
Its why I cannot for the fucking life of me stand tankies....
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 00:29]
Tankies?
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:30]
economical purist communists who believe that fixing class divide will somehow solve everything else.
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:30]
when in reality it doesn’t fucking work like that.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 00:31]
Venezuela is good example of that
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:32]
Venezuela is another USSR. They took the means of production from bosses and gave it to the state effectively becoming a new boss and forcing a state-capitalist command economy.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 00:34]
And yet there are people over here that want that for this Country, like Bernie Sanders for example
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:34]
And myself.
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:35]
I am an ardent socialist and would prefer a state that is smaller but focuses on regulation and workers’ rights than true communism.
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:35]
I don’t like the idea of state capitalism at all.
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:35]
I just want a state that works for its people, not for its corporations.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 00:38]
So big government or small government?
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:38]
Small government socialist. Right and left really don’t have the market corner on big or small government so to speak.
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:40]
A government should be focusing on regulation of the institutions as well as providing security for the people within it, not regulating the people within.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 00:42]
However, you can't have too much regulation or it just makes the whole thing fall apart some of this sounds similar to some conservative ideals in some ways.
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:44]
I personally despise the so called free market. They want to do whatever is most profitable at the expense of the people but when the lack or regulation causes destabilization and collapse they expect the state to bail them out.
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:45]
Regulations prevent collapse, the lack of them causes it.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 00:46]
That's not a true free Market though, the government shouldn't bail out companies because they fucked up. If they fail than let them.
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:47]
but that’s exactly what happens. you can’t have true anarchy capitalism because it leads to corruption and failure and far too much exploitation and instability.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 00:48]
The same could be said for Communism
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:49]
Only when the system is built on the state capitalist soviet model.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 00:51]
Nothing is ever free of Corruption, doesn't matter which system there will always be people in power to take advantage of that.
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:53]
So, focusing on the minimization of that potential is key. Capitalism is clearly the weaker of the two systems.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 00:54]
That's a matter of opinion
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:55]
More a matter of fact than opinion.
Aurora, [29.08.17 00:55]
Capitalism has boom and bust cycles. Basically, capitalism thrives of instability and the apologists for that instability.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 00:58]

Even directly from wall street there is an admission of extreme instability within the system of capitalism.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:03]
Plus, we're still inside of a recession.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:04]
"instability is an essential part of the creative process of capitalism. Its darker side, which Minsky focused upon, was the tendency for this instability to lead to excessive debt and, ultimately, a Depression." Joseph Schumpeter.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:04]
^^Evidence that capitalism thrives off of instability and those who are its apologists.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:06]
"THE frequency and severity of financial crises suggest that they are an inevitable part of capitalism. That does not mean policymakers should give up trying to limit the damage they cause." The Economist.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 01:09]
Like I said too much regulations don't work but not enough also doesn't work, it's a balancing act.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:09]
Proving the severe instability within the system itself.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:11]
countries that are that unstable fail.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:11]
Governments based on capitalism lead down the road to such extreme instability.

Aurora, [29.08.17 01:13]
Another great article by The Tokyo Foundation.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 01:24]
I still don't communism as a viable alternative to Capitalism, and the Tokyo article does point out flaws but doesn't say Communism is inherently better.
There will never be a perfect system though, and everyone has different opinions on this and different points of view. A hybrid system of both would be ideal but that may not happen
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:24]
True. And I agree, communism isn’t any better. its why I’m a socialist.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 01:28]
I see it work in a small scale, maybe at the state level or small community, but when applied to a whole country where the government is in control of everything it doesn't work.
I'm more of a Constitutionalist if anything.
I hope this conversation isn't making you like me less ^^;
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:30]
Well communism with a smaller government is possible. Democratic Socialists like myself and Sanders agree with a regulatory government, not an authoritarian government.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:32]
Any authoritarian government fails. Its why people like myself are so up in arms about Trump /Pence. Trump's administration has a very authoritarian stance against the people.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 01:32]
You know Bernie Sanders and his Wife Jane are under investigation by FBI for bank fraud, right?
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:33]
True.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:33]
Another example of how a capitalist economy leads politicians corrupt.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 01:34]
Plus, he took money to Endorse Hillary and used it to buy another house.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:34]
Plus, under investigation doesn’t imply guilt of any kind.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:35]
And again, proof of capitalist politics causes mass corruption.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:35]
just because one person fails doesn’t mean the policies they stand for are false.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 01:36]
But that makes him a huge hypocrite
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:36]
Exactly.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:36]
Because of corruption brought on by existing in a capitalist system.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 01:37]
So, its societies fault?
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:37]
Never said that, I said it was a failing of his brought on by living within a capitalist system.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:38]
Still his failing, but failings like that are far easier within a capitalist framework that leads to exploitation.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 01:40]
Do you support Antifa?
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:41]
A) Does it matter? B) not particularly however I do understand where they are coming from and have no real problem with what they do.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 01:42]
So, you support terrorists?
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:44]
How is Antifa a terrorist group? Antifa throws bricks through windows whilst fascists shoot up Jewish community centers and drive cars into crowds of people. You know, like the literal ISIS
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 01:48]
Look at what they Did at Berkley they assaulted people because they had a different opinion they nearly beat a woman to death with a flag stick and other used a back lock, plus they dress in all black and look like ISIS.
Violence for political reasons is never justified no matter what side you are on.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:48]
So, anyone who looks like ISIS is just as bad. Got it.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:49]
What they did at Berkley wasn't good, I’ll agree to that, but it’s very difficult to have everyone within a non-hierarchical group of protesters adhere to the same rules.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:50]
it’s like saying that anyone on 4chan is a terrorist simply because a lot of people showed up at the the unite the right Nazi rally with kekistan flags.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 01:51]
It's a Tactic used by terrorist groups. And they are not protesters, those people are paid to do this, members of The Democratic party have admitted this.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:51]
So, because some people are paid to do fucked up shit, the whole group is a terrorist group. The "Both sides" argument is as much a crock of shit as fascism is.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:53]
Plus, by that logic, anyone who doesn’t agree with you being terrorists is incredibly regressive.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:53]
The rise of fascism in the US today is far more terrorist than a bunch of people protesting fascism.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 01:55]
So, these people are Fascists because they don't agree with you? How convenient. I'm using the same logic you are.
Both groups are bad plain and simple.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:56]
No, they are fascists because they carry the confederate flag, the Nazi flag, and shout "Jews will not replace us" as they march carrying literal torches.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:57]
These are the people who stand for a white ethnostate and go around vouching for the lynching and gassing of "inferior races"
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:57]
You know, literal fucking Nazis.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 01:57]
As I said Both groups are BAD but people that don't support this hate are still called that myself included simply because I don't agree with something.
Aurora, [29.08.17 01:59]
Are you sympathetic to the Nazi cause? the kekistan cause? The confederate causes? If not then you aren't a Nazi. If you are apologetic to them however, it does show your sympathies with their cause and their hate thus by many you would be seen as someone who does support this neo-Nazi cause.
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:01]
The "both sides are bad" argument does tend to imply sympathy with the neo-Nazi cause because in its very nature, it was an argument created by the right and perpetuated by liberal centrists so that it SEEMS like logic from both sides, ignoring the fact that the fascists do want to play the victims here and thus perpetuated a lie of persecution in order to spread that narrative.
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:07]
Again, not saying you are a fascist, just that it’s what many might think because of the Nazi-sympathetic tone underlying the whole of the 'both sides' argument.
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:12]
The fact of the matter remains that Antifa is not in fact a terrorist organization. A few fuck ups and a riot doesn’t mean terrorist.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 02:15]
Um yes it does, but the very definition of terrorism
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:16]
by that logic, every politically motivated group that has had a period of violence is a terrorist organization.
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:16]
So that means every political party and religion is a terrorist organization.
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:17]
hell, by that definition the USA is a terrorist organization because of what we did throughout the cold war.
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:18]
And still is a terrorist organization today because of what we do through the CIA and crimes against civilians in Afghanistan.
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:22]
"the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims." bad definition for many reasons but let’s just use international law. war crimes would be considered acts of terrorism under that definition and the fact that the US government and military has committed war crimes would make the US government itself a terrorist organization.
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:23]
Not even including the large amount of war crimes the US has refused to prosecute simply by the fact that it helped their cause.
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:24]
Which is even more evidence to the hypothetical point that the US government is in itself classifiable as a terrorist organization by the definition provided.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 02:26]
If this country is so terrible then why not move somewhere better?
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:26]
I plan to.
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:27]
Plus, the idea that the united states is the greatest country on earth is not only jingoistic in nature but deeply flawed if not flat out wrong.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 02:28]
Then why does everyone want to come here?
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:28]
That’s false.
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:28]
not everyone does want to come here.
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:29]
Many, like myself, far prefer Europe than the united states. it only seems like everyone wants to come here because the media here portrays that.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 02:30]
Then what's stopping you?
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:30]
Money really.
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:31]
Again, another issue within the capitalist framework. people being unable to move to better places for them due to the cost put on moving in general.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 02:31]
Cause you to have to the earn it, nothing in this world is free.
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:32]
So, anyone who is impoverished is just too lazy? I can’t even begin to start on just how wrong that argument is and how many problems come from that.
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:36]
Plus, that the concept of earning is yet another part within the capitalist framework that is quite problematic. It’s as if the concept of rights is somehow foreign to capitalism.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 02:40]
Personal responsibility, only you control your actions and what you do with your money. The thing with Capitalism is that you can work your way up, from nothing to having something if you do it right. My mom started with nothing, worked Three jobs to raise me and with that hard work ethic and determination she is now head of her company. It took her 25 years but she did it. She didn't have government aid, no handouts, nothing.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 02:41]
So, everything should be just given to you?
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:41]
And that’s fucked up that your mother had to struggle in three jobs to raise you. Very courageous and valiant of her but still fucked up.
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:42]
Don’t have food? Lazy. Don’t have water or shelter? Lazy. Don’t have the resources to get out of the low economic area that your family has been stuck in for generations due to issues internet in society due to a myriad of issues? lazy.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 02:42]
Blame her abusive husband on that
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:43]
but the fact that she had to struggle in the first place is attributable not to the abuse, but to the fact that the system we live under is fundamentally broken.
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:44]
And I’m not saying it would work but what is wrong with things being given to you?
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:45]
if one needs something but doesn’t have it should they just learn to go without?
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 02:48]
But sometimes you have to struggle in life, how else with you learn, nothing is ever easy.
Because you don't appreciate something as much as it being handed to you. I just bought a new car with my own money. That made me feel amazing because I worked my ass off to get it. I'm not saying people shouldn't get assistance but that assistance shouldn't be an absolute every single time. Just like how companies shouldn't get bail outs for making bad decisions people shouldn't get bail outs because they decided to make bad decisions.
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:49]
People aren’t companies. They are living, breathing people.
Aurora, [29.08.17 02:50]
And what do you consider a "bad decision"?
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 02:55]
But people are still responsible for their own actions, and having kids out of wedlock for example, wasting all your income in things you don't need, taking out loans you can't pay back., etc.
And despite these companies being "evil" we are taking advantage of the things that all those companies have mad right now from the device you are using to the building you live in.
Not all companies are bad just like not all people are bad
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:00]
well the idea that its irresponsible to have kids out of wedlock is incredibly sexist and completely ignorant that there are many women out there who are raped and forced to have kids out of wedlock because the abortion laws in many states don’t allow them to get the care they need. Wasting income is something that isn’t exactly a viable argument because it seems to assume that all people have the exact same requirements and are mindless automatons that just don’t do what they should do. A rather authoritarian standpoint given the wide variety of human beings in the world. Then there are the predatory loan companies and the desperation that many have to just make it through the week that lead to people taking out loans they can’t afford because they think that just maybe it will lead them to get ahead in life and be one of the rich when that’s just a pipedream in modern society.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:00]
Also, it ignores the many well-off people who are now in poverty because they trusted the financial institutions that eventually fucked them over.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:03]
many, many people are right now where your mother was and they will be stuck there and their kids will be stuck there and their grandchildren will be stuck there. not because they are just a bunch of lazy people but because they are living in a place where all the money has left and there is nothing for them so they are stuck having to work 3 jobs in order to just survive. It’s not because they are lazy or are bad at money management or are just bad people, it’s because they are stuck there. That is a fault of the system, not a fault of them.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:03]
The whole "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" seems really cool and all but in reality, it’s something that very few people have the capabilities of doing.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:04]
not because of them, but because of the system at hand.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:04]
In order to obtain something, something of equal or greater value must be lost.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:05]
That is the law of nature, of science and of the world.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:05]
Everything functions based on that rule and for many, that means they are the ones stuck with the loss just so that those who have the most can have even more.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:05]
Plus, I’d love to see your example of a "good company"
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 03:10]
What's funny is I don't actually see you offering any real fixes to these problems, you state what the problem is and some sugar way to fix it but no real solutions and the company I work for right now is offering relief aid to it employees that where hurt the hurricane as well as out store and bunch of other getting food, water, and other essentials to help people in Houston, Rock Port, Victoria. And a few other places.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:11]
What company is this?
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 03:11]
Walmart
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:12]
A company that historically has treated its workforce very poorly and profits off of child labor. Not something that some relief aid can really counter-balance.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 03:13]
I don't see you doing anything to help
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:13]
So just because you don’t see it, I must not be doing anything.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:13]
Got it.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 03:14]
Nothing is ever good enough for you, is it?
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:14]
well for your information, vie donated what I can from my meager sum to relief organizations and have given blood. I'd fly down to help the on-the-ground relief effort but but I neither have the time nor money to do so.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:15]
So, you insult me by implying I’m doing nothing then when I comment on the insult its somehow "never good enough".
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:15]
A very condescending attitude to have.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 03:16]
Just an observation
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:16]
Sidestepping an insult by calling it an observation doesn't make it any less of an insult.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:16]
Also, you completely ignored my statement on Walmart and its business practices being bad for both the workers and suppliers of their product.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:17]
And sure, it’s far easier for a company that pays its workers shit and profits by undercutting and destroying smaller community businesses to do more for a community than single individuals doing what they can to help.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:18]
-1% of their profits vs nearly a week of my salary somehow means I’m giving less. got it.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:19]
Not to mention Walmart’s attitude in making profits by all means legal and illegal wherever they can.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:19]
Or the fact that the few times the workers have stood up for themselves by trying to form a union, it was crushed with little effort and no mercy.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 03:20]
Unions are corrupt
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:20]
That’s a blanket statement with no evidence.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 03:22]
Unions turned into Nazis in Germany
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:22]
Citation needed.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:23]
A statement that is wrought with horrid and apocryphal implications. As for solutions for capitalism? well a start would be encouraging co-ops over corporations, taxing larger corporations and using that money to fund education grants, fixing the loopholes in the current tax systems, raising the minimum wage to livable levels, changing the law to be far more pro-consumer/pro-union and pro-worker. It’s a good start on massive problem.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 03:24]
Obama tired that but I didn't work
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 03:24]
*tried
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:24]
what exactly did he try?
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:25]
Not to mention welfare reform, universal healthcare, education reform, the abolishment of the whole BS "States-rights" system that has been used to justify anti-lgbt laws/Jim-crow and laws that prevent minority populations from voting.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:25]
As well as the abolishment of the electoral college.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:26]
You can’t simply make statements without any evidence or refute arguments by saying "well so and so tried and it failed so anything they tried to do didn’t work"
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 03:28]
I love how Ignorant and intolerant you are being to my criticism or me criticizing your criticisms of me: P
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:30]
So, having a set standard for debate makes me intolerant?
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:31]
simply requiring that you show evidence for your claims isn’t intolerance, it’s the basis for reasonable debate.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:32]
Your statement that unions are corrupt and turned into Nazis is not only founded on misconception but its blatantly false. Asking for evidence for the statement you made isn’t being bigoted, its rational and requiring you to submit evidence to your claim.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:33]
I may learn something new but being as you have consistently failed to provide evidence for that claim in itself makes the claim bunk.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 03:33]
I wasn't even debating you, I really don't care, I just wanted to talk to you and see how your day went, not this crap. I have been just trolling you now and watching you get so mad over nothing. Nothing you say to me over the keyboard will ever hurt or offend me, but I have to leave his fantasy world to go to work in the real world, this has been fun. Laters ;) :P
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:33]
Funny, I’m not even mad.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 03:34]
I believe that you believe that
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:35]
I thought that we were having an intellectual debate over serious issues in society and you turn around admitting that your trolling? I gave you the courtesy in assuming that you wanted to actually have an intellectual conversation. The fact that you saw all of these issues that I brought up as just a joke to be laughed off says far more about you than it does about me.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 03:43]
Not the issues, just you. I never said I wanted to have a debate, you just assumed that I did. I actually was trying to sleep but I made the courtesy of giving you my time, but once it was apparent that my opinion didn't really matter and you only are hearing yourself told I started just give you dumb comments to watch what you would do an say.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:43]
had I known that, I wouldn’t have engaged you.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:44]
Your opinion does matter, just that when you make claims, you have to provide evidence.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:45]
I simply assumed you wanted to have an intellectual conversation with someone you were interested in seeking a relationship with.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 03:48]
I actually didn't want to because I knew this would happen. It's why I wanted to talk to you.
I'm an asshole and jerk when it comes to this stuff...at the end of the day politics are just politics, and it consumes you if you surround yourself with it. I wanted to escape that when talking to you, not be dragged right back in... I already hear it at work, and family, not with friends.
Expect for one I know IRL, we act like assholes to each other but we are like brothers.
I am sorry if I upset you.
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:49]
Meh. Just shows we would never work. I need someone who understands the issues and is willing to fight with me against those issues, not someone who is going to bait me and laugh and the pain and suffering of people.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 03:51]
That's your right as an American but I also have the right to make fun of you
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:51]
Make fun of me all you like. Its cruel, but by all means if that’s what you like to do, then do it.
Artyom Derison, [29.08.17 03:52]
Yay!
Aurora, [29.08.17 03:53]
It's really heartless to take joy in the suffering of others and to then make fun of them for trying to fight back against the suffering of the system they have to endure.

Ten Curvy Women Clothes Essentials Secret Tips
The post Ten Curvy Women Clothes Essentials Secret Tips first appeared on Emotional Fashion For Women and is written by wofashion.
Instead of the usual list about curvy women clothes essentials, we decided on beneficial information.
This info would arm our plus size sisters with the essence of how they should buy their clothing and also how to dress appropriately.
We also added some powerful techniques to elevate not only their outer look but their self-esteem, which even more important than anything else.
Throughout our site, we had always insisted on the fact that it is the woman who makes fashion, not the inverse.
Absorb these curvy women clothes essentials tips, and you will be on your way to stardom.
Curvy Women Clothes Essentials Tips
1. Stay Away From Shapeless Plus Size Clothing Trends.
Never go for unshapely oversize clothes ever again.
Unshapely garments hide your entire looks of good quality and unfavorable.
Decide clothing variations that accentuate the best curvy women figure attributes and disguise the ones you do not like.
Garments lacking the right tailoring are almost always going to make your shape look larger than it is.
2. Black is Not the Most Flattering or Slimming Color for Fuller Figures.
Black colored pants, gowns, skirts, and other clothing is not necessarily the most slimming or shape flattering on a woman’s body.
An appealing outfit for your curvy women clothes essentials is as much about proportion, tailoring, and overall fashion as it is about color.
Monotone dyed clothes can be as flattering, if not more, than plain old colorless black.
Putting on additional coloration around your face will bring attention to your skin tone, face shape, and eyeshade.
Black tends to wash out most skin colors.

How to Dress a Curvy Body
3. Try Shopping Online To Seek Out Clothing Merchants with Curvy Women Clothes Essentials, and Popular Variations.
Don’t worry if your local shop doesn’t carry a big enough variety of curvy women apparel in the fashions, fashion, and sizes you like.
Try shopping online at sites exclusively customized to the needs of curvy figured women.
There are lots of clothing manufacturers that provide their designs only via the internet.
4. Tapered Pants and Denim jeans Don’t Look Good on Any Girl, Curvy-Sized, or Slim.
Simply because pant, in addition to jean designers, still carry tapered leg pant variations for adult females does mean you have to wear them.
A plus-size shape, or any shape for that matter, isn’t complemented by the ice cream cone shape of a tapered leg pant.
Choose to streamline pant shape; that’s a straight leg from your hip right down to the floor.
Women’s denim goes into the lot of curvy women clothes essentials tips to avoid.
In case your hips or butt happens to be a challenging area for you, try looking for a plus size curvy clothes jean that slightly flares out at the bottom to balance the volume along the hip.
A straighter or lightly flared leg pant will elongate your legs, having them look longer than they are.
These are the curvy women clothes essentials type that should always be in your closet.
Add an impressive pointy-toe high heel (search by full-width size here) shoe for even more long-legged illusion.
Short Sleeve Mini Dress
Dresses That Show Off Legs
5. Avoid All Over, Oversized Shapes in Your Garments Material.
I have noticed a disturbing trend in some department store plus size clothing sections- dresses and other outfits with HUGE all over shapes and designs.
As a starter, I wouldn’t recommend an entire outfit of all one pattern with no solid coloring to break it up (unless it is a gown, of course).
Secondly, make sure the pattern you do select to incorporate within your attire doesn’t overwhelm your height.
The size of the print should match the measurements of the gal.
In case you are tall, you call pull off a giant print.
If you are petite, choose small prints to avoid overpowering your outfit with the pattern.
If you need to include more decorative materials into your attire, my best advice would be to pick one apparel item per outfit to have a pattern (for instance, a skirt, top, or jacket, not all 3).
6. Plus Size Petites Should Avoid Tops, Jackets, and Sweaters that Go Below the Hip.
A smaller body frame can look even short with very long plus size tops, jackets, and sweaters.
Tops that go below the hip level on a petite figure will start to shorten the look of your legs even more.
A top or jacket that stops just at the hip bone will elongate your shorter legs to their most extended character.
Sorry ladies, but the longer sweaters and jackets truly only enhance a taller plus size frame.
Silver satin low back midi dress
7. A correct Fitting, Full Figured Bra is vital to Your Curvy Women Clothes Essentials Wardrobe.
I realize all of us already listened to it on Oprah, but I must inform you once more.
75% of all women are wearing the wrong size bra- YIKES!
Having a fuller figured bosom brings along a set of particular issues such as bra straps digging into your shoulders and back, saggy look to breasts, and cup spillage(i. e. the dreaded twin bubble appearance).
Most of these issues easily solved by purchasing the correct size plus size bra, and luckily several online retailers supply, particularly to plus size ladies.
Try coming to a department store or specialty bra shop to pick up competently sized for a bra.
Then when you are buying your new bra size in bulk, turn to website bra boutiques that have your size more easily obtainable and at better prices.

8. Adore Your Plus Size Shape the Way it is and at Whatever Size
The simple truth is whether you like or dislike your plus-sized, plump, voluptuous, curvy body type.
It’s a must to cloth it for its current shape and size.
Whether you plan on losing weight in the future or want to stay how you are, have the confidence to feel sexy and outstanding in your CURRENT skin and apparel.
Find curvy women clothes essentials items that make you feel confident and stunning inside and out.
Black Deep Plunge Slinky Crop Top
9. Never Buy Plus Size Womens Clothing that is Too Small or the Incorrect Size.
All women are inclined to have a concept of what clothing size they are (or what size they’d like to be), but the fact is that every designer and brand of clothes has its sizing chart.
What may be a size 14 in one designer could be a size 16 or 18 in another.
Concern yourself about how the clothes fit and flatter your figure and less about the silly number on the tag.
Clothing that bunches and pull in areas that are too small will draw unappealing focus to that location.
The best plus size clothing shops have sizing charts with inch dimensions to help you choose the appropriate size at their market, and these stores generally have fantastic return policies in case the outfits aren’t quite right.
Blue Tie-Dye Harem Trousers
10. Curvy Women Clothes Essentials Accessories Can Make or Break excellent, Fashionable Clothing.
Vanilla outfits would jazz up with a bold women’s accessory, but be careful about not overdoing it.
Every outfit needs one bold accessory focus, not a bright bracelet, pearl necklace, and earrings that may likely overwhelm you.
The great thing about accents is that there is no need to visit the niche curvy women clothing online store for great accessories.
You can shop at just about any apparel store for great necklaces, designer purses, wide width shoes, and scarves to spice up any closet.

Mel Feller Looks at Business of Building a Winning Business Team
Mel Feller Looks at Business of Building a Winning Business Team
If you travel around and speak at the how-to-succeed-in-business lecture circuit long enough, which as a business coach and executive coach I do, you end up hearing a lot of thought-provoking stuff about competitive approaches to business, disrupting technologies, resource apportionment, asset management, and several other business theories.
However, the bottom line is that, when it is all said and done, winning teams win because they have the best individuals and a leader/coach who knows how to make the sum greater than the parts.
It is truly as simple and as complex as that. Simple because as soon as people hear that dictum, they typically mutter, “Oh, yeah.” It’s hardly a controversial notion that great individuals plus a great coach equal great performance. It is learning the skills that seem complex to most people.
Complicated, though, because actually doing it is so damn hard. We get distracted. The board wants a presentation, or a customer is getting annoying. On the other hand, we lose our nerve. Whatever happens, but something, anything, makes us forget that winning is about leading your people.
Note: The leaders of winning teams always let their people know where they stand.
The information below, if put into practice, will reduce your stress, increase your business' productivity, and give you the ability to let your team know what is going on and where they stand. Here is, Mel Feller’s the top ten things you can do to make your business run as smoothly as possible.
Hire wisely
Most businesses hire bodies for particular jobs rather than people to help build a future. Your business is only as good as each individual employee's contribution to its functioning. Therefore, look for the three i's when you hire: intelligence, initiative, and integrity. For every position, from receptionist to packing clerk, hire only the best you can find. Conversely, if you have current employees who are not performing well, consider whether they are a wise investment of your money.
Build a team, not your ego
Many employers let their egos dominate their interactions with their employees. Stop the pattern. Instead, trust your employees to do their jobs. Make each employee feel that they are an invaluable member of the company team. Let each employee know they are an integral part of the company's product. Set the example for positive interaction at all times between members of the team even when ideas or performance must be corrected.
Reward well
When you get good employees, reward them financially and emotionally. Be sure their pay is at least at market rate. Take time often to acknowledge each employee's contribution. The two biggest loyalty builders are two simple words-- thank you.
Be hands on
Know each employee's job and how to do it. This not only gives you an automatic reserve employee and trainer (yourself), but also has an added bonus. If you show an employee that you are willing to learn or have learned his/her job, you are communicating that you believe their work has value. Every employee needs to know that whether they are emptying trashcans, setting the presses, or selling the large accounts, their work is worthwhile and valuable.
Make your employees versatile
In a small company, every employee should know how to do at least two jobs, particularly on the technical and service sides. For critical tasks, at least three employees should know how to do each job. Thus, you always have an on-the-premises reserve who can step in when needed.
Give away tasks, but not ultimate leadership
What is it you do best? Are you the idea man, the best salesperson in your company, the organizer? Find your best talent and then delegate all other tasks to your employees. Train them appropriately to do their job, let them know you have confidence in their ability to perform well, and then let them do their jobs. Adding responsibility with confidence will increase your employee's willingness to work and their pride in the company's result. At the same time, you must maintain ultimate leadership. In any well run ship, the captain makes final decisions and you are still the captain, albeit a benign one.
Communicate, communicate, and communicate
You must talk with your employees, solicit their suggestions, and positively correct their mistakes. Conversely, you must create an atmosphere where employees are willing and able to talk with you. The two best sources of information on how your business is doing and how to improve it are your employees and your customers. Pay attention to both.
Give your best and always and encourage the same in your employees. Pride in the company and its product or service always begins at the top. If you give a half effort or let a sloppily produced product go out the door to a client, you are sending a message to your employees that you do not respect your clients or your work. Your employees will adopt that view as well. If you set the example of giving the extra effort, pitching in when needed, caring about your fellow team members, working as a unit to be the best in your particular business, and taking care of the bottom line, your employees worth having and keeping will follow suit.
Encourage innovation and creation
Give your employees a stake in the future. Once a month, have a meeting where the employees make suggestions on how to improve your product, service, efficiency, or bottom line. Give monetary rewards when the ideas produce increases to the bottom line. Give positive encouragement for the process.
Have a second in command
No general goes into battle without a major who can take over if he is felled by a bullet. You are your business' general and must act accordingly. Find someone you trust within your company who has the same goals, ideals, and a similar business style. Train him/her appropriately. Let others know he/she has your confidence and authority when you are gone. When that is done, leave on vacation and test the theory out. If you have completed steps above, your business will run easily and well and you will have regained a healthy balance in your life. I firmly believe, after the thousands I have coached that this is the bottom-line for most business owners and entrepreneurs.

Startup Bringing Blockchain Privacy to Central Banks Wins $15 Million Funding
Blockchain startup Adhara, which boasts a stellar line-up of former banking innovators, has secured $15 million in new funding from Consensys, the ethereum design studio.
The funding will help Adhara continue its work on international payments, which includes introducing central banks to the type of cryptography normally confined to math labs and academic circles.
For example, Adhara has been exploring zero knowledge proof technology (a way of allowing someone to prove that they have knowledge of a secret without revealing the secret itself). And it’s combining that with other forms of cryptography in order to get a better performance on a blockchain – all inside the industry-grade payments mechanism of the South African Reserve Bank.
Stepping back, Adhara grew out of Consensys South Africa, with Peter Munnings, former head of blockchain at FirstRand Bank in South Africa, as one of the co-founders. The other two co-founders are also heavy hitters: Julio Faura, Santander’s former blockchain lead, and Edward Budd, former chief digital officer at Deutsche Bank.
In his first interview since leaving Santander, Faura said the team is “religious” about the holy trinity of tokenized cash, smart contracts and decentralized ledgers, which, on Adhara’s platform, was implemented via a modified version of Quorum, the privacy-centric fork of ethereum.
“Our approach needs a single, shared, smart contract-enabled ledger where tokenized fiat can be issued and used as a basic building block,” said Faura, “and the only real option out there at the moment is ethereum, in whatever flavor.”
He added:
“If you are religious – like we are – about tokenization, you can see it unlocking possibilities to mix this with other assets; trading with a digital representation of value means you can focus on other aspects of the financial industry.”
Budd also highlighted the much-vaunted concept of tokenized fiat currency, saying: “Whether derived from a central bank or a commercial bank, it’s the only practical way to drive adoption within regulated financial institutions.”
Full of praise for his “family” at Santander, Faura explained that, as well to satisfy an entrepreneurial urge, his decision to leave was driven by his passion to solve real-world problems – something he said is hard to do within a large and highly regulated bank.
“The challenge today is bringing blockchain technology to real things, and I think this is best done from an agile startup that can independently serve many institutions,” he said.
Solving problems
Adhara’s work demonstrates a notable advancement on another central banking blockchain test, Project Ubin – a November 2017 trial of digital ledger tech hosted by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and involving R3’s Corda, Hyperledger Fabric and Quorum.
The work done by Adhara to process and settle international payments involving the South African Reserve Bank (SARB), dubbed Project Khokha, addressed a number of pain points, such as reconciling what happens at either end of a payment between a mish-mash of disconnected ledgers and the problem of continually rebalancing accounts via the central bank.
Not only did Project Khokha pass SARB’s required stress tests, it also picked up “best distributed ledger initiative” award from industry publication Central Banking.
In order to meet those real-world requirements, the team had to make some clever modifications to the computationally heavy cryptography used by the Quorum team in Project Ubin, since “preserving privacy at scale using classical zero knowledge proofs, as they exist in Quorum, is challenging,” noted Budd.
Faura echoed this, saying that using zero-knowledge proofs for banking accounts systems is possible, but “becomes a scalability problem very soon.”
In the MAS test, Ubin, Quorum was processing one transaction every 14 seconds. Throughput for Project Khokha, though, was 70,000 in 90 minutes (rounded to 13 transactions per second) – carried out using simplified zero knowledge proofs called “range proofs.”
“Range proofs have proven to be a way simpler and more performant way to achieve the same effect of zero knowledge proofs. And our aspiration of course is to build networks that will be joined by hundreds or thousands of banks,” said Faura.
Innovation focus
Adhara co-founder Peter Munnings drilled down into the key differences between the work done on Project Ubin using Quorum and the way the tech was modified for Khokha.
In Ubin, a zero knowledge proof was used to prove that the resulting balance was made up of the starting balance plus or minus the amount transferred, depending on the direction of the transaction. That proof took around 4 seconds to generate and about 50ms to verify, and used a vast amount of RAM, Munnings noted. Those proofs were published to the blockchain.
In Khokha, a special type of encryption hash called Pedersen commitments were used to provide a way of committing to a chosen value (or chosen statement) while keeping it hidden to others, and having the ability to reveal the value later.
“Pedersen commitments are extremely lightweight and fast, but they have one small problem,” said Munnings. “You don’t know if a Pedersen commitment represents a positive or a negative number.”
“So along with the Pedersen commitments, the banks also had to produce two range proofs. One that proved that the amount being transferred was positive and the second, from the sender, that the resulting balance after the transaction was still positive, i.e. the bank wasn’t going into deficit,” he said.
Despite the complexity of combining Pedersen commitments and range proofs to achieve the performance improvements on Khokha, Budd said the project didn’t feel at all “sterile and lab-based”
This was thanks in large part to SARB’s innovation mandate and its emphasis on practicalities, he said.
“They have policy objectives about inclusion within the region and innovation in the market that’s equally driving them to engage in these types of projects,” said Budd, concluding:

5 Action Strategies for Financial Independence
If you are in the second half of your career and have a serious eye on being financially independent, there are five things I suggest you consider doing now.

1. Do what you can to be mortgage-free.
Retirees without a mortgage have it much easier than those who did not plan as well. If you have 25 years left on a 30-year mortgage and want to be financially independent or retired in 10 years, then refinance to a 10-year mortgage or add whatever is needed to be paid up in 10 years.
Another mortgage-payoff strategy that I love, but is seldom used, is to create a specific taxable investment account to accrue money in such a way that it would grow to a sum large enough to pay off your remaining mortgage balance in the year you desire. This way, you keep control over that money rather than giving it to the lender, and you maintain a larger interest deduction along the way. The key to this strategy is to have the money automatically saved from your checking account to your mortgage-payoff investment account. Without this automated discipline, the strategy could easily implode.
2. Diversify away from your traditional work 401(k).
It usually makes sense to contribute to your 401(k) up to the match percentage, but for many people all of their retirement savings are locked into their 401(k)s or IRAs. The rude awakening for these people is that their account balances are not really all their money. There is a surrender change on the money they withdraw, and it’s called ordinary income tax. It’s whatever income tax rate the government happens to charge when you want your money out. Another potential pitfall to using a 401(k) as a retirement income stream is that Medicare premiums go up as your taxable income goes up. That’s like a tax to me if you pay a higher Medicare premium because your taxable income is higher.

The alternative is to fund AFTER-TAX accounts that generate tax-free or little taxable income. My favorite is the Roth 401(k) if your employer offers it. Your Roth 401(k) contribution is not tax-deductible, but the growth is tax-deferred, and when your contribution and the growth of the account are withdrawn it is income tax-free, as long as you’ve had the account for five years and are at least 59½. Love this. If your income qualifies, you can make a Roth IRA contribution as well and it works the same way.
One more idea is to forgo your traditional 401(k) and set up a tax-efficient investment portfolio with either ETFs, tax-efficient mutual funds or possibly individual stocks and municipal bonds. My point is not to tie up all your money in traditional IRAs and 401(k)s.
3. If you have a qualifying high-deductible medical insurance plan, you definitely should set up and maximum fund a health savings account.
Couples can put away $6,750 in 2017 (plus catch-up contributions of $1,000 more for those 55 and older) and it’s all federally income tax-deductible with no income restrictions. This account grows tax-deferred and the money comes out tax-free if used for qualified expenses. This is truly the best of all worlds. It can be used for Medicare premiums, doctor visits, prescriptions and much more. While this is true, I would not spend my savings from this account unless I absolutely had to. Why would I take money out of an account that has these amazing tax benefits if you could pull from savings and let this account grow?
4. Start planning for your legacy and chronic health care fund both at once right now.
The most efficient asset to leave your family is life insurance. The death benefit is income-tax free and delivered right when needed, guaranteed. I recommend using this vehicle (death benefit) as a permission slip to spend and enjoy the interest AND principal from your investment nest egg rather than preserving your principal until you are too old to enjoy it and figure out that you couldn’t spend it if you tried.

For example, a widowed client of mine wanted to leave her husband’s $400,000 401(k) to her two children. She refused to spend it despite the wishes of her children. To solve this issue, she bought a $400,000 life insurance policy in her 60s. She also takes an annual distribution of $6,000 to pay the premium. Now she is willing to take monthly withdrawals ($1,000/month) from that account knowing $400,000 will be passed on no matter what.
The life insurance you own at retirement frees you up to spend your investment money, not worrying about leaving it behind because the death benefit will fill that void. Ideally, you would construct the premiums to be paid off when you wanted to retire.
5. One of the biggest fears during retirement is the potential cost of chronic care in your old age.
There is a chronic care rider you can purchase with your life insurance that allows you, the insured, to take an advance on your death benefit while you are alive assuming you meet the chronic care rider criteria (usually that you cannot perform two of the six activities of daily living). Many policies let you take up to 4% of the death benefit per month (income tax-free) until you have taken out the entire death benefit. So a $200,000 policy would allow you to take up to $8,000/month. No receipts are needed, and you can spend the money any way you would like. Unlike long-term care insurance where it is “use it or lose it,” whatever you do not spend on chronic care will be passed on to the life insurance policy beneficiaries.
You can be financially independent without incorporating any of these strategies, but I believe strongly that you would be that much better off if you considered implementing each of these. Of course, these strategies are not for everyone and should be considered within the scope of each person’s financial situation.
