Thinking about the Sha'tari Skyguard reminded me of something I've thought about a fair amount. I think flight-based nomadic cultures are something that is woefully unexplored, not just in Warcraft, but in fantasy in general.
Guild Wars 2 has a group called the Zephyrites that travel the world in airships. Avatar: the Last Airbender has the Air Nomads and their sky bison. Can't think of many others off the top of my head but both of these examples are ones I love and I'd love to see stuff like this focused on more. It's just such rich ground for fantasy.
#wow#world of warcraft#fantasy#flying mount#gryphon#wyvern#nomad#nomadic#guild wars 2#gw2#atla#air nomads#sky bison#since this IS a warcraft blog#I will also specify that given how often they give specific flying mounts to specific cultures in the game all the time#it's not much of a stretch to take it all the way#also it could be a good avenue for different human cultures in-universe#plus there are groups that are capable of flying on their own like the harpies#I've maybe thought about this too much and I have not slept today
