Lee Jordan OC Carmen Sandiego (2019) series links
(This is a follow up to the OC post - so the writer investment continues)
So since Lee is in the sequel series - I bet you’re wondering (or not): where was he in the 2019 show? To emphasise this, I’m not trying to make an AU - I’m not changing what the show did (as much as many people want to), I’m just finding ways to integrate Lee and the Establishment into the universe. Here it is
• In the (S1 E8) Lucky Cat Caper, it’s mentioned that the stamp was donated by an anonymous collector- that was Lee donating it. He says it was a joke but secretly he felt like someone else deserves it and who wants a stamp anyway? Let’s just say he never heard the end of it from his Establishment colleague and uncle.
• (S4 E3) Remember when Gray broke into a house in Iceland? Lee was ordered by the Establishment to go on a robbery run. When Lee came to this house - he was going to steal the jewellery Gray stole. However, he had a change of heart when he found out the mom had a kid, so he left the jewellery in the drawer and escaped through the window which he left open ish.
• In the Haunted Bayou Caper (S3 E3), Carmen mingles with party guests. Guess who she has a small chat to? - It’s Lee! - One thing is that Lee went in with an actual costume (a Wild West outlaw) and called himself “John Marston Jr (or Jack Marston - any RDR fans out there?)”. So when Carmen actually meets Lee - she doesn’t know.
•In the Fashionista Caper (S2 E4), he can’t be seen but Lee is robbing all of the attendees with his mates from the Establishment. Why? Because his uncle said that large groups of people at a rich catwalk means big bucks.
•In the Dark Red Caper (Finale), the Eye of Vishnu is in a museum… AGAIN! Lee’s uncle has the second eye of Vishnu with him (As Jules said “One of 2 jewels”) and tells Lee to go and rob the other one with his colleagues. Wondering why he doesn’t appear? Because his uncle changed his mind when he saw VILE. Also - he and his mates were watching the entire angsty Carmen v Shadowsan fight unfold. Lee was silently grateful Carmen didn’t kill Shadowsan with the Crackle Rod - his mates however, were planning to kill Shadowsan because they wanted a more explosive finale.
(Conclusion? Lee has a heart but the Establishment are nuts )
Now that I look at this, I’m imagining how close Lee could have gotten to join Team Red sooner and had a sooner redemption. Kinda sad… If you’re wondering how Carmen didn’t notice Lee - he’s just that good at being a thief like Carmen.
Sorry if I ruined the show…

Carmen Sandiego Sequel Series OC (kinda…) Lee Jordan
[I swear this is a run down of my OC in a sequel series plan/ fics I’m doing . I might not add some things here because… ✨suspense✨ and I’m an idiot] [TW: Parental Deaths, violence mentioned, guns and it will get dark]
(Code)name: Lee Jordan (Jr)
Why Jr?: His dad was called Lee Jordan so he decided to call himself that when he joined the Establishment (with his uncle’s encouragement).
Trivia: I was originally going to call him something else - but when I discovered that there was a character called Lee Jordan in the 1990 Cartoon, I decided to change the name to that because I thought it would be funny to try and reinvent the character just like what Netflix did to Carmen.
Eye colour: Brown
Hair Colour: Dark Brown
Facial Features: Long scratch scar on the left eye
Age: 24 turning 25 (Around the same age as Carmen - a few months older)
Nationality: British - Filipino (yet has an American Accent - idk where in the US the accent is from - he just does)
Personality: He is sarcastic, sassy, a little cocky but that’s a persona. Lee is deeply traumatised (like 95% of the people in the show) but he doesn’t show himself panicking to anyone truthfully [I smell development :)]. He does make fun of people and likes to piss them off when the time is right. He can come across as a hardened man who has no heart - but that’s what the world wants you to think. He will show empathy silently but when he’s around people he cares about… he can be a sweetheart (which he hates being called). He also is reluctant to have relationships and wants to be alone - this changes. Lee also has a deep loathing for the government because - in his mind - they took everything from him all because of his parents’ pasts.
Affiliation: The Establishment (Formerly), VILE (Formerly), Team Red (Current)
Why are there so many affiliations?!?: He started off with the Establishment (a rival crime organisation to VILE run by his uncle) who he worked with since he was 16, but there was a seeming misunderstanding so he ran. He joined VILE to try and get to his uncle but then it’s revealed- yep the Establishment was turning its back on him. Oh! And VILE almost kills him too! So, he didn’t know what to do and reluctantly joins Team Red.
Backstory: Lee’s dad died when he was 10. His mum was killed when he was 16 - a little while later, his uncle “convinced” him to join the Establishment - mostly with his uncle using his desire for vengeance for his mother and (indirectly) father. He has been stealing for the Establishment for a while until Carmen intercepted their capers after the 2 year time skip in Season 4.
Skills: He’s a thief… (what did you expect?)
Skills (Elaborated): His thievery skills are on the same level as Carmen. Except his style is more focused on a badass distraction rather than doing it in plain sight. This is would reflect the differences between VILE (Carmen) and the Establishment (Lee). Although he has lots of experience with firearms, he never took a life (yet). The reason why is that if he’s skilled at aiming, then he could shoot the gun out of the person’s hand without killing them.
So, how is he with the Reunited Team Red:
Ivy: At the start, she was very suspicious of him and she even called ACME on him at one point. Since then she accepted him and helped out when he accidentally broke Carmen’s punching bag (so - win?)
Zack: Zack is loyal to his sister but he was hesitant to call ACME on Lee. Throughout Zack and Lee are probably the second most chaotic duo in Team Red. Lee may be a little hardened and Zack might act like a child - but they have tolerances for hilariously elaborate plans totally not thought on the spot. (Zack and Ivy are also trying to guess Lee’s real name throughout)
Player: Ever since the beginning, Lee has been begging Player to go outside and touch some grass. Since Player is at University, Lee is the one giving Player the occasional advice.
Shadowsan: He hated Lee in the beginning- mainly because he was suspicious of his previous allegiances. He even flipped Lee like a pancake twice and made him fail the Coat Exam. Eventually, Shadowsan respects Lee and acts like a sorta father figure (but not as much as Carmen)
Carmen (Crap… I feel analysis coming on!): Lee is probably the closest to Carmen because of their similar pasts. I won’t outline Lee’s backstory in full detail but there are parallels between their backstories (losing someone because of their parent’s past, being raised by organisations, betrayal of organisations, life of loneliness, etc). Additionally, they have shared pasts (if you’re worried - no! They are not blood related!) through their parents. Despite their similarities, their growth before meeting each other was different. Carmen felt like she was getting better - until Season 4 Brainwashing (side eyes to canon) - while Lee felt like he was getting worse. Because of similar traumas, they have an easier time talking about things with each other without worrying the other of being fazed by it. Although it could be argued that Shadowsan and Player could fill that role - Lee is the same age as her and has a deeper understanding of her experiences. Their opposites also align with their opinions on relationships (platonic or romantic). Lee wants to be alone while Carmen wants fulfilling ones. Lee could also be in a stronger position to argue against Carmen and push back at her.
Right - I’ve rambled for too long. Let me know if you want more. I think I got too invested.

Rant on The Lucky Cat Caper
So, I rewatched the show and seen people rank episodes as you do - but I can't help but feel the Lucky Cat Caper is always missed. Is it bad? Underrated? Can anyone explain to me!?!?
I understand that this episode doesn't stand out and when you skip it, you don't miss anything, but I have a soft spot for this episode so I'm just gonna rant:
Personally I like the opening of the episode being set in Carmen's flashback about her failed exam. Ngl, I was really caught off guard on my first watch. I remember on my 6th viewing while looking at mental health rabit holes, it finally hit me that Carmen might have signs of PTSD (so that explains the fan fics...)
Back to the dream, I think it's a good example of using little or no dialogue between characters to convey how they are feeling:
The way the character's faces are drawn clearly show how they are feeling (especially with Shadowsan and Black Sheep). I think it's really cool to see how Black Sheep's face morphed from confidence to absolute desperation as her exam went on.
Comparing this to S1 E1, Shadowsan doesn't deliberately want to hurt Black Sheep (which can be seen in the way he only shoves and dodges her) compared to Tigress - who he literally elbows and trips (ouch!).
I think when you compare Shadowsan's reactions to Tigress and Black Sheep, you can tell who he has more respect for (especially with the twist at the end of Season 1). He just has a stone face and a little confusion with Tigress but this mask is broken when Black Sheep does the test where she does in fact hit every pocket. He's a little scared of being found out.
The voice acting in the scene is also really good. The way Tigress says "This is going well" makes me think she is Regina George. Also Black Sheep's voice towards the end make you KNOW how much she wants to prove herself to her father figure and everyone as the youngest in her class. When you think about it, this may have been the only time Shadowsan broke a sweat when testing his students. He was really testing Black Sheep - the soon to be greatest thief - to her limits.
The music mixed with the cuts to the timer also add a sense of urgency for Black Sheep (since we are viewing it from her perspective). The music feels really ominous as time went on. The fact there was only percussion felt really scary for me.
Okay, enough with Carmen's dream - when she wakes up, I feel like this might be one of the few times where you can actually see the fear in her. The way she just yells "THE COAT WAS EMPTY WASN'T IT!?" broke my heart on re watch. I know she's trying to detach herself from VILE but it's kind of sad to see how hard it is for her to let things go.
Whenever Carmen pickpockets her own jeans when she kicks it up from the floor always makes me go "HOW!!?!?". Not that I do it myself but hey....
I'm gonna put it out there - Devineuax and Mime Bomb were gold in this episode.
"An elephant? Getting a pedicure? Giving you a pedicure? While spreading cheese, on a baguette? On Bastille Day?"
Although people say Tigress being mean to Carmen was out of nowhere - I like how this episode taps into Tigress playing on Carmen's insecurities for a little bit. I wish Carmen's insecurities were exploited more often in the show.
Some of the shots in the episode (The Golden Gate Bridge Showdown and Car Chase) were probably one of the best in the show for me.
Speaking of car chase - it was beautiful.
Zack fan boying about the car - aw, my heart...
The utter chaos in the red car and Devineaux
Also, can we appreciate Devineaux not crashing into anyone except for inanimate objects?
When you watch this episode with the knowledge of Shadowsan caring about Black Sheep - some of his lines might come across very differently
So my conclusion? I like the episode and wonder why people don't talk about it.
Or i'm crazy. Let me know in the comments.

TEAM RED CHRISTMAS PRESENTS!
So... it's the festive season.
So let's try not to lose our minds with Mariah Carey in the distance - and answer this question (or headcanon).
What presents would you give to Team Red? For me:
Zack = The complete Rouge Vendetta film dvd sets or merch
Ivy = Mechanic set or card game
Player = A proper game controller
Shadowsan = Manga (In the Robo Caper, it looks like he reads action manga)
Carmen = A journal
But if anything's possible, 10 years of therapy
Bonus for Sequel Series Lee Jordan (My OC ig - not the same as prequel series)
A long lie in... (Actually make that everyone on this team - I'm looking at player...)
If it needs to be something physical, a stressball. To throw at Zack.
But if it needs to be something non violent - A pint. Shandy, Coca Cola - whatever.
If it has to be kid friendly, he wouldn't mind something from Pirates of the Caribbean or Zelda.
Let me know your answers in the comments! Maybe even have other or your own characters!
(Is this a good waste of time? - no)
(Did I do a little self insert with the last one about Pirates and Zelda for Lee? - Maybe)
(Did I enjoy this? - Yes)

Prequel Series Question
Note: I may be a bit lazy with the locations and may put creative spin on the 1980s and locations (e.g. Secret vaults, lazers)
Here is the fic so far just so that you get the gist:

Chase Devineaux HC
So I rewatched the show and picked up some of Devineaux's movie references. And thus I present you this head canon:
Between the time he was terminated from Interpol and returning to ACME in Season 2, he was really sad. He got so sad that he just watched Netflix (fourth wall break. HA!) and binged every single movie. From Jurassic Park to really crappy movies.
However, he refused to watch documentaries because he has no time for "dull facts and boring things"

HA! I HAVE MADE A START ON THE FIC!
Well, it’s more of a Prologue in the present day... BUT I DIGRESS!
Chapters: 3/? Fandom: Carmen Sandiego (Cartoon 2019) Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings Characters: Dexter Wolfe, Lee Jordan, vile Series: Part 1 of Carmen Sandiego: Prequel Summary:
It's a high time for VILE: Capers are always being delivered by the Legendary VILE Faculty Members "The Wolfe" (Dexter Wolfe) and "River" (Lee Jordan), sometimes individually or as a dynamic duo.
Yet a choice or two from our 2 criminals may have dire consequences and the life they want may not be what society thinks they deserve. After all, all criminals go to hell right?
Alright... so I've seen some Dexter Wolfe Fanfic and I thought I might as well add my own. This sorta is a backstory for the 2019 series and my Fan Continuation. Expect very few updates and cringy writing.
NOTE: I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE ORIGINAL 2019 CHARACTERS OR THE NAMES FROM THE ORIGINAL CARMEN SANDIEGO 1990 CARTOON.

Is it just me or does Devineaux enjoy making movie references before he crashes?
Proof:
"You jump I jump"
Devineaux in Duke of Vermeer Caper (Titanic)
"ACME Agents in mirrors are closer than they appear"
Devineaux in The Haunted Bayou Caper (Jurassic Park?)

The Jolly Good Show Caper (A British Retrospective) [Obviously Spoilers for that Episode]
As someone who is half British, has been to London, lived in England for a while, has studied History as part of my GCSEs (or high school if you're in America) and considering its November the 5th as of writing, I felt it was my obligation for me to look back on The Season 3 Episode 5 "The Jolly Good Show" and give my thoughts on it. (Don't worry its just me waffling about an episode and what I think. It's just for the fun of it. ALSO sorry if I got some things wrong)
(DISCLAIMER: I have not been to the Tower of London in person, I just did my own research. I am also not a professional when it comes to all history. So make sure you fact check and let me know in the comments)
So anyway, I tried to do it in order. Here we go:
Zack saying that they're driving on the wrong side of the road is probably not that surprising considering that roughly 30% of the world's countries and 35% of the world's population drive on the left which includes England.
Player describing the Tower of London as a fortress, prison etc is pretty spot on. I highly recommend going there yourself
Carmen saying that St Edwards Crown was used to crown all of the Kings and Queens since 1911 is half wrong. According to Wikipedia (I'M SORRY):
Versions of it have traditionally been used to crown English and British monarchs at their coronations since the 13th century
The original crown was a holy relic kept at Westminster Abbey, Edward the Confessor's burial place, until it was either sold or melted down when Parliament abolished the monarchy in 1649, during the English Civil War.
The crown used today was made for Charles II in 1661 to crown him. It's similar in weight and size to the original but its arches are Baroque.
The reason why Carmen may have said what she said was because the tradition of using St Edwards Crown to crown Kings and Queens was revived by George V in 1911
Player is right to say that there were attempts to steal the crown jewels. The most well known is Colonel Blood's attempt. Funnily enough, the guy got out scot free and still got his pension. https://youtu.be/iRmBE6B8F7I
Player also describing Bondfire night is pretty spot on. The Gunpowder Plot happened in Nov 5 1605 as a result of a group of Catholic men, led by Robert Catesby (not Guy Fawkes), trying to rebel against the Protestant King James 1 because Catholics back then weren't on the best of terms. Unfortunately the plot resulted in stricter laws against Catholics, don't worry the laws don't exist now.
Player "So, he was considered a hero or a villain, depending on who you ask"
Well, I've talked with some people and although we understand that the Gunpowder Plot was done because of the prejudice and oppression of Catholics in 1605 England, we agreed that maybe they should have dealt their anger differently. Maybe a way that doesn't lead them to getting hung, drawn and quartered. Either way, it's a complicated question that's up for you to decide.
Speaking of Catholics, I did go to a Catholic school and they don't celebrate bondfire night. My history teacher did ask if they could do it but bc Guy Fawkes was a Catholic and as Player said... they burn him... Can you see the problem?
And Shadowsan calling Bondfire Night chaos?..... how - dare - you.
The whole "if the ravens leave the tower, the kingdom will fall" is an actual myth that the writers were spot on about. Charles II is thought to have been the first to insist that the ravens of the Tower be protected after he was warned that the crown and the Tower itself would fall if they left. That's why the raven's wings are carefully maintained and there's even a Raven Master.
Carmen saying "That's not the loo" is kinda on point. Normally they would also say "loo" or toilet. Also, Ik this is a cartoon, but I can assure you that the guards would be a little more suspicious if she got into a place she wasn't supposed to.
The entire Zack and Ivy fish and chips thing is on point. Although some places still use newspapers, we normally just use hard paper like newspaper to wrap it. Ivy also saying chips and crisps is also correct, glad she was paying attention.
Zack feeding fish to the ravens is not allowed. sniff sniff... He really is a criminal through and through. I'm so proud. (JK! It's a joke. Don't feed the ravens!)
The Troll says "London Bridge is falling down my fair lady". This was to communicate the death of the Queen to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and key personnel, setting Operation London Bridge in motion. So theoretically, does The Troll and VILE want Carmen (the Queen) dead? Jeez, why did I go that dark?
Fun fact: 1968 and 1971 the bridge's facing stone was dismantled and shipped across the Atlantic Ocean to the U.S. state of Arizona.
When The Troll says that Red Rat is ready for takeaway - there is a takeaway box (like take out in America) next to him... and it's even Chinese. Not gonna lie, I'd go for the Indian takeaway instead.
When Carmen gets "arrested", the police uniforms that some of them wear are based on The Bermuda Police Service and to be honest in November, the Metropolitan Police would be wearing yellow jackets. Seriously, how are these people not freezing!?! If this was real life, at least the police would search Carmen's coat and let her wear it if it's that cold!
When Roundabout steals the Crown Jewels (wow... never thought I'd say that), he doesn't wear gloves. This isn't a British thing but generally, why would he do this without gloves? Like, if you're being a professional criminal, you would know not to leave fingerprints anywhere. Honestly it feels like Carmen is the only one who follows this logic!
Funny that Roundabout (an Englishman) gives the jewels to Le Chevre (Frenchman). Sorry, there is a joke that England and France have been rivals for centuries and it still exists in rugby and football (or soccer). SORRY AGAIN!
Throughout the episode they refer the iconic bell tower as "Big Ben". In actuality the name of the tower is Elizabeth Tower and Big Ben is used as a name for the largest bell in the tower. Ironically, the Big Ben bell might be where Shadowsan picks up his weapon.
When Zari drives Devineaux, the seating inside the car is correct for British Standards of driving.
When Roundabout is about to stab Shadowsan, he says "Mind The Gap". I've used the Underground and the saying is commonly used as a visual and audio warning that you hear all the time.
When Roundabout says "you git", it's pretty mild to what most actually use. If it's casual we would use the b or c word (I'll give you a hint. The b rhymes with mastered and the c one rhymes with Brunt.) but I can't say it because I don't want any younger ones using it yet. ;)
Carmen :"Sorry mate"
Look, it's a cartoon... but that... that hurt my soul. THAT IS FAR FROM A CONVINCING ACCENT! British can tell from a mile away!
You could've said "Sorry, love" or "Sorry, you alright?"
AHAHSHegJHSGFFB.... Apologies.
Towards the end of the episode, Team Red are standing at Westminster Bridge.
The "God Save the Queen" in the credits is obviously outdated but it was fun to listen to.
My opinion:
Most British terms are used correctly.
Most of the facts are accurate according to what I looked up
Everyone involved needs to get thick jackets for November weather, especially in the evening.
Police uniforms for some are incorrect but some are right.
WORK ON YOUR ACCENT TEAM RED!
Back to accents, I feel like most of the British cast had the Queens accent like what most media portays. It would have been nice to see other accents like cockney, scouse etc.
I thought it was a good episode and the scene of Carmen getting arrested gave me chills.
Anyway, that's what I thought. Thanks for reading.
REMEMBER REMEMBER THE 5TH OF NOVEMBER!

Carmen Sandiego Incorrect Quotes
Zack: Ah shit, I forgot. Ivy: Forgot what? Zack: How do you expect me to answer that? ----- Ivy: Can you be serious for five minutes? Zack: My record is four, but I think I can do it. ------ Player: I did it! I memorized everything in the book! I'm gonna ace this test! Zack: Ok, Player, I'll give you one more question before you go. What ended in 1918? Player: 1917. Zack: …You're ready. ------ Player: What's the scariest horror movie you've ever watched? Carmen: IT. Ivy: Annabelle. Shadowsan: Paranormal Activity. Zack: High School Musical. All throughout high school I was scared that everyone was gonna randomly get up and start singing and dancing, and I would be the only one who doesn't know the words. ------ Julia: Isn’t it a bit dangerous? Devineaux: Agent Argent, please. We’ve been in a lot of unexpected predicaments before and we always escape unhurt. Julia:... Devineaux: Okay, we sometimes escape unhurt. Julia: … Devineaux: Alright, we escaped unhurt once… Then we hurt ourselves on the way home.

Hello welcome!
I see many people do this, so I guess a welcome post calls!
Stuff to know:
My main fandom is Carmen Sandiego but I like other shows including Gravity Falls, the Owl House… I can’t think of any other ones right now
I’m a gamer! I enjoy Zelda especially!
I like Disney, History, Comedy (The Princess Bride) and Animated Movies
As you can probably tell, I love history (for any CS fans, I guess you could say I’m a Jules)
I’d like to stay anonymous so you can call me anything.
Hate me all you want but I like to write fanfic. I gotta get my creative juices flowing somehow. Especially for Carmen Sandiego
[Controversial] Pineapple on Pizza is amazing!
Did you know that humans are the only species on this planet to have chins?
Also more importantly, no hate speech or anything too political.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
Stay dazzling - HA!
(Oh wait that’s taken… hang on)
Arridaverchi!
