Love the running theme of my fav men being unwilling, unintentional fathers lmao like they just find these kids in dumpsters or something, grab them by the scruff like a cat and be like “you’re mine now” and then grumpily start taking care of them and then act like they don’t really care that much but will burn the world down if something happens to them because “THAT’S MY FUCKING KID”

So you've mentioned some of how Nancy gets on with Michael, but how does she get on with the other survivors/killers after they all come back?? - Sleepy (is now going sleep. uwu )
Oh, she gets on really well!
In a lot of ways, she’s almost already part of the group? Like, Quentin talked about her so much, most of them kinda feel like they already know Nancy Holbrook a little. And he talks about them to her so much just the first week the feeling is mutual haha. Plus, the girl killed Freddy Krueger which is bar none the single most loved by all action she could possibly have taken. So, they default are like “FUCK YEAH! I love this girl!!! Fucking beast!” (Meg has said this verbatim at some point). She’s reserved and a bit odd, but like, in this group? That’s fkn normal. She gets them, and believes them, which is valuable, is one of like, two people—her and Sidney Prescott—who could kinda comprehend how any of this feels really. Plus, she vibes /hard/ and super easily with Claudette, to like almost instant best friends who are able to be comfortable and casual super fast and couldn’t get along much better. Laurie is also especially fond of her, and Min “likes her better than she thought she would” (which is a sincere compliment from Min queen of the backhands & translated to ‘actually I think she’s pretty cool’. She’s just like this rip.) Also spends a lot of time with Nea, Kate, David, Meg, and Susie, and gets on really well with the lot of them. Philip is one of her three roomates at school, and she’s super close to him after that. Also sees Dwight and Jake a ton more when they start driving up for weekends when Quentin, Philip, Claudette, and she are not in class.
It’s a little weirder for her with the killers. Michael and Sally and Philip and Rin and Anna, not so much, because like, she gets it. Rin, Sally, and Philip meant no harm. Anna and Michael weren’t operating off normal human understandings of the world before. But the Legion kids she is pretty wary of sans Susie for a while. The poor girl lost literally everyone she knew and loved to totally unexpected and awful murders when she was sixteen, and has been plagued by nightmares of finding some of them, especially Quentin and her mom, alive again, only to have them killed brutally in front of her and fail to save them. So uh, she’s got some hella rough conditioned trauma to deal with that makes it extremely hard not to hover and try to be ready to bodyshield or kill someone if the thing she’s watched happen in her head thousands of times happens for real every time Frank Morrison gets close, and it’s hell on Earth for her, but she gets a little used to them the more and more humanity she sees from them, and eventually they’re okay too. Quentin thinks it’s extremely sweet and cute that she hovers like a guard dog when they’re around and actually he has quite a lot of similar nightmare and life trauma and is not over being scared of them himself, so it makes him feel genuinely a lot better, but also worries him and makes him guilty and sad she gets so tense and nervous about him, and is glad when he gets more okay around the Legion kids and she does too, for both of them. It’s still always super meaningful to him how ready she is to die with him and how much she wants him to live. I guess that seems like a silly thing to say, I mean, hopefully we all want our loved ones to live. But she’s so demonstratively protective even though she’s much smaller than him, and he’s so used to feeling like shit and getting it, and still working on improving his relationship to himself, and it makes him feel very valuable to be so fundamentally necessary to someone he respects and loves so deeply, even when the threat is only a vague maybe, and he gets really touched by that. It’s very sweet. TuT
