Under Vecna and The Board, the creatures of the Upside Down are forced to be ruthless, mindless, killing servants. Their only motive is to attack and consume at their Lord's order.

When under The Imprisoned, however, there's a lot more leniency. The Imprisoned don't have the mental - or immoral - capacity to control the creatures in such a way. This leads to the creatures having a lot more freedom in their lives, and a select few even regaining some personality in the light away from Vecna's darkness. Bound to humans, this has manifested in a human-like personality.

Each of the Democreature leaders have found that one (or three) of their creatures stand out especially so. They've each dubbed these their "second-in-command(s)," in hopes to lighten the load of their turmoil.

Heinrich the Demobat)

Dubbed with masculine traits. Confident and boastful, smart but childish in nature. Takes after his leader a lot, chatty and restless whilst in the Imprisoned's cave. Prefers to "speak" aloud rather than through the telepathic link all the Upside Down creature leaders have with their species. Was actually the Demobat to figure out the crack in the trailer's defenses at the end of Eddie's first life. Did suffer for it, though, evident by the spotty scars around his head and right side from the trash lid shield. Otherwise, a Demobat physically no different from the others. Eddie takes very nicely to him once they've established basic knowledge, and was very quick to name the Demobat and dub Heinrich his righthand. Named him Heinrich to symbolize the opposing force The Imprisoned are to Vecna's plans - "Plus, long 'H' names seem to have a good track record on the good guys' side."

Satin, Velvet, and Lea, the Demodogs)

All dubbed with feminine traits. Excitable and social, if a bit unaware of boundaries. Much like their earthly counterparts, this pack of three refuse to do anything alone. They all prefer to "speak" aloud as well, though they understand when to keep quiet for the rest of The Imprisoned. These three are actually the same "generation" as Dart, which technically makes them sisters. They know all about Dustin from their old hive mind, and hope to meet him someday under better circumstances. Otherwise, they never saw the Right-side Up, and in turn are pretty ignorant about the reality of The Imprisoned's situation. Satin was the first to wish to speak with Bob upon their new bond, but Velvet and Lea demanded to join in. Bob became incredibly attached to the three Demodogs, once a relationship was established. He named them all based on the texture of their skin to him (Lea for leather). He still doesn't quite understand the intelligence of the Democreatures, and treats the three as regular dogs - yes, silly voices and constant pats included. The sisters don't mind, though, and often ask for it.

Ricky the Demogorgan)

Dubbed using masculine traits. Wise but quiet, one of the younger Demogorgans but has definitely seen the most of the current small population. Speaks only through the telepathic link, both for his sake and in solidarity with his leader's vow of silence. Was the Demogorgan to hunt Will Byers and Nancy Wheeler back in 1983, but was forced to perceive and feel every second as his kind was killed off over the years - the smaller the species, the stronger the telepathic link of the hive mind. While the Demobats and Demodogs amass hundreds, the Demogorgans are but a few dozen strong. It makes him treat his link with Barbara much kinder. Barbara feels some kindred comfort from this particular Demogorgan, and has trusted him with providing her the information about Demogorgan physiology since waking up in the cave. They don't interact as much physically as the others, but they still hold each other to a lot of protectiveness. So few of them, best to keep hold of whomever they can.

Billy and Jason have seen a similar development with the creatures they control - Mind Flayer and Vines respectively - however it's a lot more of a sour relationship.

Billy is the Mind Flayer's second-in-command, rather than the other way around. Communication between them usually boils down to demands of silence and solitude. Neither likes each other thanks to their history. Mind Flayer, because it does not think itself worthy of leading whilst under another's thumb, seeing Billy as a reminder of failure and hating him for it. Billy, for a similar reason of failure and lack of control, plus the obvious part of being controlled and killed by the Mind Flayer in his first life.

Jason tries to completely ignore the Vines entirely. He calls them the Whispers, and thinks them demonic calls of sin and evil. He only listens to them in hopes they'll leave him alone quicker. The Whispers have a quiet, helpful, but lonely mindset, despite being multiple in the mind of one. They leave Jason alone, but sadly. Jason may not be Vecna, but the ignorance for their existence makes the difference hard to tell.

Remanufactured AU: Frankie and Monster Frankie lore!! part 2!!!

Lore stuff made for my self insert au!! Here's a link to the first part of my info dumping on Other Frankie and Monster Frankie: link !!! Also lil snippet of Henry Hotline lore ehhee.

-Frankie would get put into a dupe of the mascot animatronic as well. The most I can think of why he'd want that form is for immersion sake even though the viewers would never see him. -Despite murdering a good few people, the missing people got dealt with by the company, and as much as it angered the CEO he saw potential in Monster Frankie’s being the star of the show. -Monster Frankie would become a beloved animatronic mascot in the show. -The show would lay low before new seasons started coming and have contestants be encouraged to play dirty. Before it used to be that contestants would just keep going through the course even if they fall and whoever got through the final course first won! But now anyone who failed a course or landed on those “Frankie doesn’t like when you touch this floor” thingies, would immediately be eliminated through Monster Frankie gently taking them into the void of a ceiling or vent. This was implemented so Monster Frankie could continue killing people to satiate his bloodthirsty but in a way that viewers wouldn't question where the eliminated contestants went after he grabbed them. But then Monster Frankie got a tad too greedy and killed an eliminated contestant on camera. -The show didn’t get canned since no one could confirm if it was real or not. But some new enthusiastic viewers were entering the community when they heard about this. -Eventually, the private streaming service they used would be changed into another one but it was more of a dark web one, the site was mentioned a few times by those new viewers. -Next thing you know the previous rule of elimination was lifted but the contestant now had to worry about Monster Frankie on all fours chasing after them and lurking in the dark to spring surprise attacks. -The numbers would grow and so would Monster Frankie’s craving as his current form wasn’t providing him as much speed, strength, and intimidation as he wanted. A new suit, his present-time Monster form, would be commissioned and he’d hop his soul in there.

-Along the line, Henry Hotline was kept in storage while the show started up the murderous era for the show. Until Frankie found a use for him through the special service he whipped up “Henry call redeem: pay to call his head once at any time for a minute” . This redeem would be open whenever the show was airing or not and when it was airing Henry would be streamed before and after a season so the viewers could watch him suffer plus get a discount on the redeem if they used it during the stream. This would lead to the monster Henry we know and love. -Frankie and Monster Frankie would work together on the show with Monster Frankie handling making his murderous machinery and Frankie handling the business side of the show.

-This would be the trend for a long while until both would lose their creative sparks, Monster Frankie would stop making new killer obstacles and would tunnel vision on murdering the contestants as season intervals would get shorter seeing as not much park prepping would be needed with how quickly contestants died. Frankie wouldn’t have any opportunity to express more of his ideas that made the parkour palace look the way it did as there were no plans for expanding and redecorating. -The Henry call redeem would be taken down as the numbers waned and Henry would be put on hunter duty like Monster Frankie. Unfortunately, very few contestants would even reach his maze. -Frankie knew he would get fired from the show as being a show announcer didn’t do much for the show and he really wasn’t doing much else that was important enough for him to stay around. He would have to think fast and take a big risk for the next season to keep himself part of the show that he spent years on.

-Then the events of the game would occur with Millie, the winning contestant (NOT the self insert, this here is a child), bringing the numbers back up. -Along with Reese (THIS DWEEB IS THE SELF INSERT) the mechanic worming his way onto the property and given the job to be a mechanic with no pay but worse yet he had to find a way to bring back Monster Frankie before the next season came. This would be the start of the Remanufactured AU story.

Hello hello! Yep I can give some information

Be aware at his au is still in the works so some facts are subject to change.

But this au doesn’t fully follow SB and uses Security breach as an outline more so as not everything that happens is exactly like the game

Well start with the pizza plex

The pizza plex in this is a mega mall type thing(like the pizza plex) known as make believe it’s a place to bring you’re children that’s themed off make believe and whimsy for kids to indulge in their imagination.

There are a few performers plus some other robots in this establishment

Cell, who typically is found in a quiet area where kids who are overstimulated by the hustle and bustle or just want to do some arts and crafts go, she has two assistants Tailor and Tinker. Tinker was formerly a repair bot but got repurposed for this area and Tailor is both a security bot and a helper

Next is a place known as the tree house which is where a small robot known as Assok is found, this robot will run around and play with the children and is soft and fluffy being able to be picked up and held though a staff member is always nearby to avoid and damages to Assok, Assok also can help find lost kids and help them to security station where they can wait for their parents

Magnus is a magician animatronic who typically performs for special events but from time to time is brought out for just regular shows and can typically be found in the main area where the Stage is

Madras is typically found in one of the shops around the mall. She will barter with people which wasn’t original programmed but no one can seem to get her to stop but overall she’s generally friendly to kids at least.

Julienne and Melody run the music area where kids can go to dance or create their own music, julienne teaches them how to dance while Melody helps other kids find themselves in music.

TOby is a robot that does move to often and typically can be found sitting around in different places and typically is just surveillance.

Dial, he typically just wonders around and interacts with the kids, he’s able to record conversations and also uses his abilities like that to entertain the kids typically telling stories or updating people on news

Finally RGB the main performer of the complex. He sings, dances and performers he’s the most popular of the boys that the kids love to watch

Hate is a former bot of make believe that was tossed out she slowly webs her way through and manages to infect a few of the bots there.

Click is a guard bot that was corrupted by Hate and was discarded before being repaired by Hate and is now on a killing mission.

Hero is the child who gets stuck in the complex she comes across RGB after a malfunction on Stage and he begins to help her get out like in the original security breach, after a run in with a bot hate has control over RGB gets infected with what ever virus Hate was spreading except it doesn’t affect him the way it affects the others leading to Negative becoming an issue, when RGB sustains a sufficient amount of damage Negative can take control to neutralize the threat.

If hero gets lost Assok will help lead her to a safe place; cell, tailor, and tinker all protect her at some point from any threats; Madras will sell things to Hero to help her; Magnus has helped from time to time specifically with click encounters; TOby can be asked about the where about of different bots until Dial dumps him somewhere else; julienne and Melody help Get hero out of tight situations. Dial starts friendly and eventually starts showing he was one affected by the virus, the butterfly works as Hates surveillance and can alert any of those affected by to hero’s whereabouts. Cells crafts area is the safest area to be.

Again this aus is still being worked on something may change and all information may not be here but just some things about it

Yeah the panic attack really messes with BOTH of them in this story - Erich didn't mean to trigger it and Kisuke didn't even know he HAD a trigger like that - and it really drives a wedge between them on accident. Erich thinks that Kisuke needs space from him/doesn't want him around (it's probably not 100% clear in the last bit of that but Erich was trying to comfort Kisuke through it before Kisuke yanked himself away and ran) so he ends up trying to give Kisuke space. He figures if the man wants to talk with him, he'll actively start hunting him down like Erich was trying to hunt Kisuke down earlier. Basically, if Kisuke had made a single effort to follow Erich (even just heading towards him when Erich starts to move away) Erich would have held still and let Kisuke find him.

Kisuke meanwhile is busy trying to convince himself that avoidance is totally what he wants, and so doesn't.

And yep! It's never made clear in this fic bc it's all from Kisuke's pov and he never bothers looking into Erich more than a little bit (plus he doesn't really Know much about Quincy in this AU) but Erich's easily late thirties early forties and has been fighting for at least two decades at this point. During one of those fights in his mid twenties he took a fair amount of damage, including to his left shoulder, which limited his ability to use a bow pretty heavily. Benihime here is an Otherworld Being that's formed a contract with Kisuke, and so her canon bankai ability of "tear things apart and remake them Better" can be used as a painful but permanent method of healing, albeit one that leaves the person who undergoes it a bit.. more than human? Sort of? She doesn't exactly stick to Human Standard. It's also very draining on Kisuke, and Benihime doesn't take an Interest in people very often so it's not common knowledge that she can do it to anyone other than Kisuke, nor do people tend to like how invasive it is.

Erich on the other hand is just "hell yeah, I feel good again, fuck yes. Unexpected outcome but I will absolutely roll with this" after he gets over the shock of it and of Kisuke apologizing and running away.

It IS a great trope and I love it, and as soon as I had Erich using a bow again I HAD to use it. Absolutely supreme trope, I need to use it more often.

Okay. Okay so lore dump time! Sorry but u asked and I was Thinking About This AU again earlier today XD

So in this world, you basically have the "safe regions" which are heavily protected by spells, barriers, and troops (the Shinigami) that are trained to fight any beasts or monsters that manage to make their way Into those safe regions. And then you have what Kisuke refers to as "the wild lands" which have exactly Zero of that protection, kind of like the Rukongai but in a way much worse bc it's not the afterlife so everyone has to eat, it's just that ppl with powers have to eat More.

Quincy and Shinigami used to both live in the safe regions, albeit as different "kingdoms" of a sort with a very different view on the Otherworld where the monsters were coming from. At some point in their past history, the Shinigami conquered the Quincy and drove the few remaining out into the wild lands without any of their resources and with many of their skilled Leaders and elders dead, and thus with a huge amount of skills and abilities lost, including the method of making large safe zones. From there, the Quincy sort of dispersed themselves and became more nomadic/more loners than previously, not helped at all by the fact that the "chasing them out" was basically literal in this case.

Shinigami contract with higher level Otherworld Beings in order to gain access to powers beyond the norm, whereas Quincy use purely human skills and human originated powersets - so Shinigami tend to be very individual in their skills, and Quincy are very Similar to each other, just like in canon.

Quincy (usually) believe that Shinigami are the reason that the Otherworld Tears exist at all, and that it's because of the Shinigami contracting with Otherworld Beings that things have been slowly getting worse over the centuries.

Shinigami believe(d) that Quincy are out to entirely destroy/cut off the Otherworld from their world and refuse to allow that to happen bc it'll take away their powers.

In this verse, Kisuke was investigating the Otherworld and why it exists/the creatures within in/etc, in an effort to make contracting with an Otherworld Being safer and less likely to destabilize the boundary between the two worlds. He also was trying to figure out the difference between beings that could be Contracted With, like Benihime and such, vs the monsters that would come through, and why SOMETIMES the beings that would answer the Contract call were uh. Inimical to the caller.

(basically the Otherworld has three main 'types' of beings that are often spotted, albeit there ARE totally normal, nonmonstrous creatures that do often slip through Tears that no one really Notices immediately until the invasive species has established itself. You have your basic Monsters like you'd find in games like Final Fantasy or similar, then you have beings like Benihime that can normally be safely contracted with, sort of like contracting with a summon except the contracted being takes up residence in the contractor's soul, and THEN you have beings that CAN'T be contracted with normally, which are basically Hollows. It's not a good vs evil thing, the can contract vs can't contract thing, it's more like.. water and fire. Contract beings like Benihime can absolutely drown their summoners if they both aren't careful, but trying to contract with, say, Grimmjow is a much trickier proposition to keep from being burned. If you're expecting to tread water, but find that you've been thrown headfirst into a bonfire instead, none of your preparations will be of any use and you'll probably get badly burned or just die of it.)

So Kisuke was doing research into this stuff, which thereby included research into How To Open Otherworld Tears On Command Without Massive Draining Rituals, bc the more power you have to turn onto the thing you summon, the more chance you can survive it.

Aizen, recognizing that this research could absolutely be used to generate an army that he could use to Take Over Everything, went about getting himself on the research team in order to steal it and try to twist it to his use, and then, when Kisuke found Aizen in the middle of trying something out, Aizen did his usual Twist The Facts thing to "capture Kisuke in the middle of setting off a catastrophe and planning a coup" and brought Kisuke in front of this world's equivalent of C46 for judgment, relying on the fact that he was both well loved and had used his contracted beings powers to, just like in canon, twist perceptions. So the interrupted experiment that AIZEN was doing became KISUKE'S interrupted experiment, etc. this got Kisuke sentenced to death and tessai and yoruichi freed him like in canon and they escaped to the wild lands.

Once out there, Kisuke discovered that things were A Lot Worse Than He Knew, because Aizen's been playing fast and loose with Kisuke's research, opening many small Tears in quick succession in an effort to figure out how to impose pseudo contracts on any Monsters that come through (instead of the usual contract beings) to generate an army on demand that he can control, which has destabilized the boundaries even more than usual and vastly increased the size, number, and frequency of incursions, especially outside of the safe regions which don't have the extra barriers etc to reinforce the boundary between worlds.

Basically, everyone's suffering, Aizen's slowly punching too many holes in the boundary between worlds, and Kisuke's out here trying to atone and figure out how to NOT have their entire world turn into a Monster Den.

Thee Rina bible. It’s everything we could ever want and need. Everything we want s2 to be and more. It’s an absolute masterpiece in every way. So many parts where I nearly died, the angst in the fight scene, the tension before they made up (the dress scene that reminded me so much of that amylaurie scene I lost my mind a little more), them being absolutely gone for each other!!! it’s just perfect in every way.

When Your With Me and Were Alone by orphan account

‘Ricky Bowen remembers everything.’ This is a one-shot three-part completed series.

My favorite series, it’s gotta be. It’s the first of its kind for rina fics. Lore does an incredible job of realistically writing rina’s characterization and reactions to Gina moving and what would happen after. A wonderfully talented writer, utilizing the power of her words while minimalist carries an effect. 

You Know Me Better by This_is_Riri

‘Gina was moving. This would be her sixth move in seven years. She was used to it by now...only this time, it felt different. Post episode 7.’ This is an incomplete multichapter fic.

This one really gets you at your gut. Heart-wrenching for both characters but mainly gina. The vents that happen to both characters, it just makes sense that so much more than their vunerabilities bonds them together. Perfect execution of the mutual understanding trope.

I love a good five times plus one fic. This one is heartwarming, cheeky and cute. It gives a healthy balance of the inevitable anguish that comes with pining (and not just for the character but for frustrated readers that just wanna put these kids together already) but also the sweet innocence and fluff from first love (or first love adjacent).

A good look into what could've been for season one. Reflecting moments that felt like they could’ve easily been placed in the show and showed the subtly of the growth of rinas relationship. It wasn’t something that was thrown into our faces but came gradually and this fic facilitates that growth with key moments that add to that. A Great one-shot.

And the 7th Thing I Hate The Most That You Do (You Make Me Love You) by iknowpIaces

‘It doesn’t help that he really does look good in his costume. God, she hates him. She hates him. She hates him. Then, he has the nerve to smile at her. And Gina hates how that smile alone sends her over the moon.’ This is a completed one shot.

SOOOO GOOD. No one understands, I love the trope where one person has a crush on the other and it's unrequited (or it seems that way) but eventually it's apparent that they're also just as gone for that person as soon as they start moving on, or feeling fine with having their feelings not reciprocated. Then they're both just mutual pining messes, ugh I love it. This fic handles the trope with care and rina just comes together organically.

A rom-com in the form of a fic. It’s so true to Ricky and Gina as characters and their dynamic. The writing is really good and gives so much in terms of plot. I really hope it updates soon because I love a good makeover/transformation fic, it gives she’s all that and geek charming in the best ways.

Katie does it again. Another classic that makes us fall for rina while they fall for each other under the stars. You can’t help but feel something for them right off the bat because theirs something about the cheekiness of the dynamic and so real. You can’t help but fall for them, a must read.

The Last Time by mytearsricochet

‘this is the one where gina meets ricky and nothing is against them. except for a few misunderstandings, forgotten birthdays, wrong people, and missed opportunities. because as much as love doesn’t care about time, this is the one where time cares about love. and with time, everything falls into place.’ This is a completed one shot.

SO UNBELIAVBLEY UNDERRATED. This fic is too excellent, it's everything rinas could want. it’s an incredibly well done long slowburn that makes you strap in for the ride. With all those teasing moments where they're mutually pining and they're just on the precipice of finding out their feelings for one another only to hold back and stay friends (until the end of course). The end makes you work for it, but so worth it when you get to it. 

10 Days in “Love” by kindredspiritsxo 

‘It was almost the end of high school and nobody had it figured out. Especially Ricky Bowen. His parents had recently divorced, he had no idea what he's doing for college, his longtime girlfriend dumped him the month before and now he's been replaced by one of the most popular guys in school.

To make matters worse, he leaves for Europe in two days for his senior trip. The same senior trip that said ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend were going on. So, Ricky did what any desperate teenage boy would do to try and get his girlfriend back: he devised a plan. A plan that included the help of Gina Porter and playing pretend for 10 days.’ This is an incomplete multichapter fic.

I love a good traveling fic. Sometimes all it takes to get a character to wake up about things going on in their lives or feelings for character b is a good change of scenery. This fic does a great job of utilizing the enviornment to facilitate rinas love story through one of my favorite tropes, the fake dating trope. There's some angst along the way because nothing can ever come easy but it's not without its reward. It gives me major spiderman far from home vibes just solely because of petermjs adorableness and how that energy kinda translates to rina in this fic more so in the beginning before they have this repertoire.

It hurts in the best way possible! that is the best way to describe this fic. Were taken on a journey where I personally wanted rina to just talk to each other in person but the magic was all in the voicemails and the power of their connection. There was a satisfying ending, I couldn't ask for more. If you haven’t read literally everything written by Katie go read it, it won't disappoint.

An amazing fic that hits every spot effortlessly, even the ones you didn’t know you had. Like Ricky being a lovesick puppy going to a drive-thru just to hear Gina’s voice for coffee, he doesn’t drink or like. All the while they’d been connected all along. I’m a sucker for any kind of soulmate implications or stories where people are unknowingly connected like that so this ones a real favorite for me. It’s sweet, lighthearted and funny and a great read.

There is something about Rina being written about from an outside perspective that is just so excellent. The story starting with Nini noting the obvious chemistry and their connection and being threatened by it, I don’t know it's just so pleasing to me. Another fic like that one of my favorites (one that I’m pretty sure I’ve suggested in my other rec list), pretend i don’t see it in your eyes by spobylol. Another absolutely excellent read that does not miss once. This story in contrast also writes from rina’s perspective as well which I also thought was well done.

The mutual pining hits spectacularly especially when you see just how soon it starts to hit Ricky that he’d made a mistake getting with Nini and him paying for that mistake. The writing only amplifies it. Also Ricky telling Gina he’s obsessed with her? yeah, I automatically added this fic to my list of faves.

An amazing fic, I need more people to know about it! I really like fics where the development between Ricky and Gina is gradual, which seems to be the case for a lot of fics but for this one in particular I like its execution. Obviously, at first, he’s with Nini so it’s like the dynamic is at a point of comparison from the start but we quickly learn that thanks to good ole mutual understanding and overall compatibility Ricky and Gina are just right for each other. A fun read that hits all the bases.

If a human runs out of their three lives, the Pokemon they are bonded with dies

It’s considered a major dick move to forcibly separate a pokemon and trainer

Humans can only share lives with pokemon when they are at least 10 years old

This is basically just an excuse for why everyone has one Pokemon and I didn’t want to just say I was lazy

Disguises itself as a Gyarados, Rapidash, or Dragonite depending on what’s needed

That’s about all I needed to pair him up with Tommy

Considered more loyal to his trainer than the average pokemon

Him and Tommy met in the woods when Tommy was about nine and Henry was a mankey

They just both looked at each other and got in a fistfight

Then Tommy took him home after he accidentally got hurt

Evolved when Tommy was exiled from New L’manberg

Dream was keeping him captive in a pokeball and only let him out when they visited Tommy

When it was let out it always tried to beat the crap out of Dream

Was told to stop doing that by Tommy because Dreams a friend

Which Henry thought was bullcrap but anything for Tommy

He’s doing better at Techno’s now

Tubbo

Evolved at the festival in a last ditch effort to try and protect Tubbo because combee have really bad stats

Worried about her trainer due to all the previous leaders becoming corrupted by the power

Has vowed to stick by his side no matter what

Loves to make honey and brings it to Niki for her bakery

Wilbur/Ghostbur

Picked because it’s the only pokemon with an association with music that actually looks like it can fight

I tried to find something with the colors but nope

Met Wilbur as a Toxel when it’s parents abandoned it

Heard Wilbur playing his guitar and listened from the bushes

The it just followed him home and they got along

It evolved when Wilbur was exiled

Was one of the first to realize that something was wrong with him

Was one of the few who could snap Wilbur out of his delusions

Eventually even that didn’t work

It probably knew in the end that Wilbur was doomed

But It couldn’t just abandon its trainer

Not Wilbur no way

It was glad it got to see Gramps one last time

Now it exsists like those ghost pokemon in Lavender Town

Not a ghost type pokemon but literally a ghost

Called Ghostricity

Remembers about as much as Ghostbur

Techno

An Emboar nicknamed Carl

Picked because it is, and I am quoting Bulbapedia, the “Mega Fire Pig Pokemon”

In other words, it’s a big boy!

How it met Techno will be explained in Philza’s entry so we’re gonna skip that

Was already fully evolved by the time Techno came to the Dream SMP

Just as bloodthirsty as his trainer and extremely good at battling

Loves to go to the Nether and soak in lava pools like a hot tub

Finds it very relaxing

Had an extra cost in bonding with Techno in that he also hears the voices

Finds them very annoying

Got jumped and taken hostage by the Butger Gang due to having water dumped on it

It was a lot of water

Which has managed to mega piss off Techno

Is very embarrassed at having to be rescued by Dream and Spirit

The closest to knowing what Spirit actually is

So looking forward to toppling the government

Currently training by sneaking out to waterfalls and standing under them

Very protective of Gramps

If you wanna do a speed run of getting fireblasted hurt Gramps in front of Carl

Philza

A Drampa nicknamed Gramps

Literally all of its pokedex entries are about how it takes care of kids and is extremely threatening when pissed off

Gramps met Philza when It was raising a Tepig in the woods

Techno was little and had gotten lost in the woods and ran into Tepig

They got along and Tepig took him to see his “dad”

Drampa helped Techno get home and Philza let them stay at his house out of gratitude

Philza and Drampa got along and the rest is history

Considered a dad by Carl, Ghostricity, and Henry

A very nice dragon who has accidentally adopted like half the servers pokemon

uhhhhhh so i guess we start with picking a character u really Vibe with tm? I KNOW THIS SOUNDS LIKE COMMON SENSE BUT LIKE ive been considering making a genshin ask blog for a while now but i never really got to it cos i couldnt really decide on a character (plus the fact that their outfits are. so intricate. is also a hmm since i try to follow details to a t) (at first i wanted to do zhongli, but i feel like to be able to muse him well u need to know the lore super super well, which i dont n im too lazy to research on that aha. n u know how much i respect characterizations, especially for such a complex character like him. i also considered xiangling for a period of time mostly for guoba but also like i have 2+1 blogs here n having one more might not be a very good idea aha) (as for aesop he was my Hyperfixation Character tm also cos i looked at his kit n went Yep i could work with this. probably)

so assuming ur not a dumbass like me n u kinda know who u wanna pick, id actually say to snoop around here for other ask blogs n kinda get a feel of the... scene? is that the word? or like u know, other blogs that u can potentially vibe with. ive run a couple of ask blogs before this current one (both that have died for different reasons) n from my experience interacting with other blogs (if theyre okay with it, i think most should be) is pretty fun. it also kinda helps get ur blog around to other ppl on other blogs so they can go Oh whats this cool shit n check u out, n its also a reason why we kinda reblog promo posts for other blogs (also cos we’re always excited when someone new comes on, its really the more the merrier. we see all :eyes:). interacting with other blogs is also an option when ur inbox is looking real roomy too

another reason why i havent exactly done a genshin blog is that idk i cant actually seem to find genshin ask blogs around (i have seen rp blogs, or those that answer asks with mostly text instead of art, but thats. not my thing since i hate my own writing aha) (i did find one aether blog some time ago, but for some reason i hardly see them around anymore??? idk man i might be wrong). its not like im trying super hard to find them ask blogs, so im sure they exist out there (hopefully?? im not sure but im being optimistic). i mean theres nothing wrong with just starting an ask blog without others around, but for me i do find a difference when i interact with other ask blogs n when i dont, n i prefer when theres others to have fun with (unfortunately i couldnt find any ask blogs to interact with in my previous fandom. i tried, but the blogs i approached seemed to go inactive shortly afterwards...) plus u get to meet friends that way too :D (i made a lot of friends via idv askblogs n its really been a joy vibing with others)

as for the idv scene. gestures around me. unfortunately there are a lot of ask blogs that arent that active anymore, but theres still some of us who are alive n kicking empty inboxes, n im sure everyone would love to see a new face around. winks at u. also there seems to be a lot more blogs popping up lately, which is really heartening to see.

then u kinda just. make ur blog? n a starting introduction post so ppl can reblog it n spread the word XD n yay u have a blog i guess??? XD

i gotta say tho. dont expect ur blog to take off immediately (especially for smaller fandoms like idv, tvbh i didnt think my blog would even get half this far when i started cos of how non existent idv tumblr seemed to be) n ur inbox will probably be looking pretty empty a lot of the time (or at least filled with some that u havent quite thought of how to reply to yet aha) (but also like empty inboxes happen pretty often, im sure most of us here have experienced this problem)

in the case of the first ask blog i ever started, it never really took off at all. ngl it was kind of demoralizing n depressing but to be fair i had picked one of the more obscure characters in the series, so obscure that many ppl in the fandom would have never heard of this character before. if u wanted to know, i took a character that only appeared in the 2nd musical of the series, who also made a very brief cameo in the manga to acknowledge his existence within that universe. thats how obscure my character was, but i went with him purely because he was my favourite character. i will say though i did enjoy it while it lasted n i learnt a lot from the experience, n i think thats whats important really.

i guess this kinda leads on (not really but let me digress) to the whole uhhhh thing where if u choose a more popular character, u get more attention. which is fine i guess? if u really vibe with the character, i mean theyre popular for a reason. n choosing a more popular fandom (like genshin) would objectively also get u more viewers n numbers. but like honestly i believe that ask blogs are meant for u to have fun with, n like trying to get popular gets tiring pretty fast (this shouldnt be like a main goal, but u know sometimes u subconsciously also want that gucci follower count n bomb ass notes or something. i used to be guilty of this until i realized it isnt worth it) especially if ur not enjoying yourself in the process. (case in point: my previous fandom was considerably larger n my blog got about 700 followers within a year or so, but it got very tiring n stressful to maintain after my interest in it died, n no one was really interacting with the blog even though i tried which kinda made it even more depressing despite the so called success n popularity of the blog)

anyway on a less serious note, theres a lot of fun stuff u can do with the ask blog, like some ask blogs have really fancy tags that i really like n try to do but also like not really HAHAHAHA. i kinda just channel what i want to see in an ask blog into my own ask blogs (good art is one, i try very hard for it to be good :,DD another is characterization, n others is just extra miscellaneous arts n stuffs like au ideas or memes. these are also somethings u could work on during ask box downtimes perhaps)

uhhh another side thing is like a posting schedule i guess? like ppl would be more likely to interact (i think) if ur blog is relatively active, n this is usually determined by the last post u made (i think XD). but like generally for blog maintenence id say try to kinda find a frequency that ur comfortable with?? cos i know my once a day posting is kinda insane if i wasnt so hyperfixated on all of this n fight the urge to dump all ur replies when u finish them XD (though ive seen some blogs do that n they do it pretty frequently so its pretty nice to know once u see their post u can spend some time going through the latest batch of posts XD) the queue function is pretty useful here even though i truthfully have never really used it, i kinda just post from my drafts really but it also helps to space out ur content to seem somewhat active especially when u dont have the time to be working on replies sometimes. i hope u know what im trying to say here aha

ANYWAY that was like my 1.5 cents cos i dont even think its worth 2 cents HAHAHAHAH these are just my thoughts from running all my blogs up till now, some that are still running n the others that have just died a natural death. i wouldnt actually delete them (theyre still around actually XD) cos theyre kinda like archives n i can look back at what i did last time. cos ngl i made some high quality stuff back then, n i dont even know how i managed to do that aldhflhdsgk. also ppl do look at archive blogs every now n then for the content thats there yknow

In my Laloriaran Lives AU, he and Trechire have three children by the events of Elsweyr (which for me personally was like a 20 year span between the events of Coldharbour and then Elsweyr). One is of course Sunnabela, NOT stolen by Raveoov but actually happily remaining in his birth timeline and even gets to know his father, what do ya know!

Brought up with the tradition royal mindset "You are the eldest, therefore you take care of your family when need be."

Laloriaran attempted to train him in with two handed weapons, but it just fell flat. Lalo was grateful in the end, as it gave way to a chance for Caafire and him to bond as Laloriaran brought Sunnabela to her for lessons with twin daggers.

Still a bard. He grew up loving the music he'd study with the Psijics, and begged his parents for lessons with the lute and harp at a young age.

As an adult, is a Psijic escourt for their field agents. Double protection and all. Plus it gives him a chance to see the world.

Good relationship with both parents. Love them to death.

Really good relationship with his younger sister, and then with his older half brother whom he only met as an adult, Fennorian.

Hates being the source of any conflict, or being worried over. Thus became very self sufficient.

Very close bond to her mother, who worries she inherited anxiety issues.

Intimidated by her own father, but loves him and runs to him for protection.

Good relationship with Sunny, but stronger bond to Fennorian, whom she works with often as she quite loves enchantment and alchemy practices.

Warden like her mother, but with a HEAVY focus on restoration.

Despite the concerns of her parents, isn't trained with any sort of weapon other than a restoration staff.

Youngest child, at least in the 2nd Era.

Named after the late Leythen who passed helping to defeat Nocturnal.

Hated being on Artaeum for his childhood, yet still brings up "I was raised on Artaeum" as a power flex when in public.

Was the problem child, and for a long time Laloriaran had him under watch. That ended when Leythen became an adult and left home.

Doesn't get along with Sunny at all, always angry whenever his brother butts into his buisness. But secretly grateful whenever Sunny drops in to save him in time. Never shows it, though.

Indifferent towards his sister. She was too quiet and innocent for him to either REALLY mess with or be REALLY rude towards.

Yes, the above statement goes in the worst direction you'd think. He makes Umbacano seem perfectly humble. Leythen will treat you like an idiot unless you can answer his questions about his studies correctly. Basically a Star Wars or Anime gatekeeper but with Ayleid lore.

Laloriaran has tried to knock sense into him multiple times but nothing worked. He just accepted Leythen was born "with the worse Ayleid traits", but remains hopeful that maybe he'll grow out of it.

Leythen and Trechire don't speak often, mostly due to awkwardness. Leythen is a Momma's Boy, and Trechire definately babied him, but now their personalities conflict and it's probably the only thing he is truly regretful and ashamed of.

Technically a member of the Mage's Guild, but to Grandfather Vanus' dismay, acts more like a second Telenger than a Galerion grandchild.

Isn't in one place for long, as he travels from site to site for his studies. No one really knows where he lives. It's not as if he keeps friends close enough that he'd have any to bring home.

6. What did you think of Zhan Tiri as the big bad?

watching season three was a bit of an exercise in managing expectations and constantly reminding myself that at the end of the day this is a children’s show on disney channel and they were never going to go as hard with the horrifying protean eldritch horror angle as i would have liked, but i’ve been super into zhan tiri as a concept since queen for a day and when i watched painter’s block for the first time i was delighted because it seemed like a pretty strong signal that zhan tiri wouldn’t be a one time deal; i love the lore and her eclectic aesthetic and her quirky followers and the gremlin baby look (shdhsfbdsh), i love the manipulative chessmaster angle.

also season three validated a lot of the way i wrote zhan tiri pre-season three; i had her pegged as a skillful manipulator and in once a handmaiden in particular… man, the bitter snow vibes were strong in handmaiden. and it’s a sort of small silly thing the way she introduces herself to rapunzel and cassandra by making them say her name gave me so much life because that’s how i did it in bitter snow too (and so did pathygen in strings which everybody should read) and i love winning

and when season three wasn’t validating my headcanons it was very politely leaving them untouched. i think the only zhan tiri headcanon of mine that season three broke was the specific nature of her manipulation of demanitus, wherein i imagined her betraying him first. 

my one disappointment is with… sort of everything after she actually gets her hands on the drops. my favorite thing about zhan tiri throughout the rest of season three was that, despite her evidently having powers once she was released in cassandra’s revenge,* she still relied on manipulation to get what she wanted. she earned every single one of her wins by out-thinking, out-planning and out-maneuvering her opponents and i love that it’s so unclear whether being in the lost realm for two thousand years weakened her or if she just prefers to achieve her ends through cunning and artifice. also a boomerang is such a thematically perfect weapon for her to use because it requires precision, skill, and forethought and it attacks in ways and from angles that most people don’t think to defend. 

(*she floats in cassandra’s revenge; teleports in race to the spire at least once and i think arguably twice [the spire appears to have only one entrance, and ziti either sneaks back in through it while rapunzel and eugene are right there, or she teleports in behind the staircase]; possibly teleports and possibly is invisible in tale of two sisters given how quickly she pops in and out and the fact that cass doesn’t see her even though she’s in cass’s line of sight when she slips the broken mirror into rapunzel’s bag; gives cass some kind of telepathic glimpse into her own mind in handmaiden and again, more implied teleporting and invisibility plus the grapes and potion which personally i think she just conjured; and in plus est en vous we see her shapeshift on a small scale when she goes full gremlin and hisses at rapunzel. plus there’s the recurring theme of her shadow appearing as the monster form.)

my absolute favorite zhan tiri moments are when, in race to the spire, she steals the key from rapunzel by throwing the boomerang directly underneath rapunzel’s hand, causing rapunzel to reflexively lift her hand into the returning flight path, allowing the boomerang to snatch the key on its way back; and the implication in plus est en vous that zhan tiri (1) knew cass didn’t trust her, (2) would react to this distrust by putting her in a rock cage, and (3) would forget to extend the rock cage through the floor on which it sat, and to counter this she picked up a vial of acid in the demanitus chamber hours before cass actually turned against her. both are small moments that suggest so much cleverness, foresight, ability to improvise, to use people’s strengths and weaknesses to her advantage, to always have a contingency plan. also it’s funny as hell

so when she got her hands on the drops, turned into a giant monster, and just clobbered everyone through raw brute strength… i mean, don’t get me wrong, that was cool and i loved every second of it but it was also, kind of, zhan tiri where did your brain go? and i know the point is that she gets what she wants and arrogantly assumes nobody can stand against her now, but the thing is… zhan tiri just spent a whole season running around in the tiny body of a six year old and relying on mundane methods and the occasional magical party trick to get what she wants so it does feel a little out of character to me that she would take this left turn into Raw Power Is The Only Thing That Matters when cleverness has always been her greatest asset.

then again if she had kept her brain she probably would have won so like +1 for the demonic idiot ball for saving the day lmao

almost all of my non-zhan tiri headcanons revolve around bitter snow / the saporian cass au/rewrite thing i’m writing so i haven’t even begun to consider post-series headcanon stuff but i will say that immediately after the group shot at the end of plus est stalyan dumps brock and hooks up with caine and they run off and become pirate queens together and also sing a lot it’s a crime they didn’t let laura benanti sing
