Quaranmemes for Quarantines
Tagged by @reallyginnyf <3 Putting this under a cut since it’s pretty much doubling as my weekend wrap-up as well.
when was the last time you left your home? On Thursday I had to run a few quick no-contact errands -- dropped a bulk mailing off on the rear platform at the post office, deposited a Fedex envelope into one of their pickup boxes, and then ran some miscellaneous groceries over to my Mom’s house. Today I went for a run, but only around the neighborhood, so that doesn’t feel like it counts.
what was the last thing you bought? I’ve actually been doing a bit of online shopping lately -- bought a sewing machine (still need to sit down and set it up), a gas-powered pressure washer (arrived today), a new bathroom scale and a vacuum sealer. Last thing we bought in-store were some small necessities from Walmart.
is quarantine driving you insane or are you finally relaxed? This is tough to answer, because I’m never actually relaxed.
I worry about someone in my immediate family getting sick, but beyond that the quarantine doesn’t really trouble me. I’m largely a homebody, and honestly this has kept us from a lot of unnecessary spending, so all the places I’d probably be going would just be buying shit that we really don’t need. I think my anxiety only ramps up when we have to go somewhere, like when my parents need groceries, and we have to go through the whole process of masks and gloves and fully decontaminating everything once we get home. We have it down to a science, but it’s still a whole process.
But I’m frankly enjoying the time at home. I’m a very “routine” person -- I’m comforted by having lists of things I need to do, and places to put things, and then doing it all by rote. We worked very hard to make our house be a place where we enjoy being, creating, relaxing and working, and now we’re reaping the benefit of all those things.
who are you spending quarantine with? My husband Marc and all the cats. I only see my parents long enough to drop things off at their house.
do you have pets to keep you company? We have three of our own -- Bones, Spencer and Rosie -- plus two fosters, Baby and Blue. There is also a semi-feral cat, Fidget, that we feed and care for, and he occasionally spends a night inside if it’s particularly cold or wet out.
what are your current responsibilities? We’re both very fortunate in that we are fully capable of working from home, and both our employers are in full gear. Mine is actually busy enough to need to hire new people for the sudden influx of work, apparently. So I work my “day job” during the day, and when I’m not working I’m cleaning and doing laundry, trying to keep our chest freezer topped up with ready-to-prepare meals, a lot of organizing and a bit of gardening. I really need to sit down and do something creative, although my muse has been completely dead for... longer than I’d care to admit. I’m going to give it a bit of a try tonight, though, so we’ll see.
Just lately I’ve been on a purging spree. Thursday, Friday and yesterday I cleaned out every corner of the art room / office and made three piles of craft supplies to give away. I also gathered together two enormous bags of various clothes and gave that away as well. My next step is probably to switch out my winter wardrobe for the summer stuff, although we’re expecting a good week of cold, rainy weather so... maybe not quite yet.
do you have a room to yourself? Well, if I ever needed time to myself I could certainly find it. The art room / office is unoccupied when we’re not working, and when we are I can always come down to the living room or go into the bedroom with my laptop, or I’ve got a little “writing chair” in the dining room, by the back patio, that’s nice to sit in. I can be content anywhere in the house, basically.
are you exercising? I wasn’t, but a few days ago I decided to change that. I need to get better control over my physical well-being (and self-image), so I made myself a little weight / diet log, included columns for water intake and exercise, and signed up for a “virtual 5k”. Today it was just warm enough to get outside, so I went for a run. Technically we went for a run, but Marc got winded not too far into it and had to head home again. I grabbed my earbuds and went back out.
Got in 2.27 miles before deciding to head back home. Because the weather is going to be shitty I plan to kick the fosters out of their room for at least 45 minutes every day so that I can get some treadmill time in. With any luck we’ll shortly have space cleared in the attic so that we can do yoga and maybe barre as well.
town, country, city? We’re in a semi-rural suburb in Bucks County, PA. It’s... suburban, but very very blue collar, and there’s plenty of farms around, large and small.
how’s your toilet paper supply? We seem to be OK. I am a prepper by nature, and I made sure to stock up before things started to get bad. I’m also being very mindful of how much I use, which helps. I’m more worried about my folks, who blow through resources like crazy, but I don’t think it’s terribly hard to come by as long as you can get to a store.
what’s the worst thing that you had to cancel? I was a bit bummed about the Colin Firth concert being cancelled in the early part of this month. That was going to be a nice night out.
To be very honest, my biggest regret is that we took on the fosters when we did. No one in this area is in a position to adopt two cats, and to be honest... they’re not very good fosters. Blue is friendly and outgoing, she likes to play, but she’s not cuddly -- she’s not really interested in being petted or held and doesn’t seem to want to sit in your lap for very long.
Baby likes Marc well enough, but she continues to run from me whenever she sees me, and forget about coming up for a cuddle. She’s just... fucking miserable.
We’re also giving up on trying to integrate them with our cats. They don’t have very good “cat manners” (they have no sense of personal space and will get right up in the other cats’ business), and the two of them have twice now gone after Rosie in what was a semi-playful, semi-aggressive manner that she definitely did not appreciate, so that’s the end of that.
It would be different if they got along with our cats, or if they were cuddly, but Blue is the only one that I’d consider truly adoptable. Baby is fucking miserable and I have no idea how the fuck we’re going to adopt them out. I’m desperately trying to find someone that can take them, but I don’t have a good feeling, and I honestly don’t know what we’re going to do long term. It was a mistake taking them in, and I regret it, but I’ve got to find a way to deal with it now.
what’s the best thing you’ve had to cancel? This is going to sound terrible but... we were planning on going to a “Return of the Living Dead” convention in June. Had tickets, a hotel, everything. Technically it’s still on -- they haven’t cancelled the event yet -- but we’ve agreed we won’t be going, even if it’s still on in June. Too much of a risk.
In theory this was going to be super fun, and I actually was excited about it, but... honestly, going to so many comic cons has really burned me out on other people who attend conventions, and the idea of being around mobs of people acting like smelly, poorly socialized assholes about something that I genuinely love was kind of stressing me out.
I didn’t want to see something that I love gatekept, I didn’t want to be “fake geek girled” about it by somebody with B.O. and no social awareness. It was starting to stress me out. So I’m sad that we won’t be going, but glad that I don’t have to stress out about it.
who do you miss the most? My boss, I guess? He was fun to hang out with and bullshit with, and we can’t really do that the same way that we did when we were in the office together. I’m pretty lukewarm on everybody else I used to see in person day to day.
do you have any new hobbies? Ugh, please, I already have so many fucking hobbies. Uh. Well, I did buy the sewing machine, so... :/ Let me get it set up and actually sew something before I start calling it a hobby, though.
what are you watching the most? Marc and I have been binge-watching Ozark and a show called Futureman, which are both compelling and extremely difficult to watch in different ways. I’m still waiting on new content from the lady that lives in Japan, haha... this is probably a good opportunity to go back and watch whatever videos I haven’t seen yet.
are you still going to work? Remotely, yes, every day. I’m actually using the time to try and get myself better organized and establish good work habits and routines that I can carry through to when things start to normalize.
what are you out of? Mmm... nothing, I don’t think? I’m getting low-ish on yeast, since I’ve been baking so much, but I’m not even really low on that yet. I’ve tried to do a “dried cranberry yeast starter” but I’m not convinced it took... I need to drain off the yeast liquid and add some flour tonight, see if it grows or if it’s a dud.
have you made any changes to your hair during quarantine? I trimmed my bangs about a week ago, I think, because they were getting frustratingly long. Fortunately I didn’t butcher them too badly. Today I helped Marc give himself a trim, and he’s looking quite dapper again, so I guess we’re not in too bad of a shape. I chopped my hair to the shoulders back before the quarantine so it would have to get much, much longer before it became problematic for me, and even then. I’m still debating if I even want to color my grays at all, so I’m not concerned about “touching up roots” or anything like that. I am what I am.
Not tagging anyone because A) I’m terrible at tagging, B) Most of the people I follow that are “real people” and not just content-posting accounts are mutuals of one another. If you want to participate, please consider yourself tagged.

The usual Comic Con post incoming, this one being the one in Ahoy Rotterdam. I went as Ladybug as that is my easier go-to outfit.
After an extremely stressful way there (no miracle I have a headache), I arrived at Comic Con safely and for the first time ever I spent money within the first ten minutes I think? I bought quite a few items, good thing I had birthday money lying around from last December.
So these are all the goodies I bought:
The first thing I found was PlayStation playing cards. They are inside a metallic cover and well... when I was paying I was just realizing I have a PlayStation wallet. I guess it’s clear what is my preferred console, haha.
Other than that two dice sets. The right one is colourful and magical, which will be perfect for my child wizard in the future. The left set with pink and black are for my halfling rogue. The darkness for how she stays within the shadows, and the pink for the softness she carries. The pink is stronger in real life than on the photo.
I actually bought the bard card set before I got the dice, because the dice were a purchase I made after I decided I had leftover budget. I was not kidding when I say I want to go bard in a future campaign. Now I am absolutely prepared. Also, the spell card deck is much cheaper than online as far as I recall. I only know this cause I recently had been looking for a druid deck for a friend.
The Digimon image is actually a magnet! I am not over fond of square designs, but finding Digimon is rare and it’s a cute picture (Taichi is munching something while seated on Greymon’s head). I also saw another artist with flabbergasting amazing art, like holy shit, it was amazing, but they only sold prints and I prefer stuff that can be stuck on something (magnets, stickers, keychains, buttons).
Which is why it is probably odd I bought Overwatch prints, but they were 50 cents each, I couldn’t resist. He even sold Lucio, come on. I appreciate anyone who actually makes content for Lucio!
The last two things are the Lucky Charm sticker and the button of Ladybug and Chat Noir, but the latter was actually a gift! The vendor saw me walk by, asked if I was Ladybug indeed and then handed it to me. I was actually quite surprised (and like any Dutch person I accept free things).
Literally all the shop keepers at Comic Con were so nice in general. It was a very small con, which is why I have no cosplay selfies (plus the fact it’s harder when you are alone), meaning they had more time to make conversation.
I also did one commission even if I was tempted to do more. Budgeting and all... so I commissioned my hobbit from Lord of the Rings Online. Because she’s not a D&D character she’s often overlooked when commissioning, so I went for it.
She looks so pretty, but also young, so I imagine this is what she would’ve looked like in her earlier years perhaps. Since the artist forgot her scar, definitely before her adventuring days. I really like it, and I find it so interesting how she colours. It was made by @nathaliejang and although I was forced to leave later for the train because of the commission, it was worth it.
While I waited for the commission I was actually able to play D&D though! I got to test out my dice (used my rogue dice) and they seem to roll me good numbers.
I joined the 13:30 campaign and I think we ran until 15:45. They had five characters. Two fighters, one rogue, one cleric and one wizard. Cleric being a favourite class of mine, I called ‘dibs’ before I even got to look at its sheet (mostly because I did not want to play melee and get anxious over wizards). I ended up being a dwarf... alright, fine. I was a little racist towards our elf wizard, but to be fair, he was high on himself so he deserved it. Our human fighter (who was played by a lad in actual armour, very awesome) was also not over fond of the elf, and we had a halfling rogue join us mid-game. This was the knight:
It was quite fun, though it is hard for me to play a pre-made character with pre-defined goals and flaws, and a race I’d never see myself play. The DM was rather chill (and reminded him that people roll death saves at 0 HP, our wizard fell), so that was nice.
Did I expect to play D&D at a Comic Con? Absolutely not. Will I do it again? Possibly, dependent of the edition. Comic Con in Rotterdam and Amsterdam are so small that there is time to spare, but in Utrecht? No way, too big of a venue with too many events.
The way back was hellish again due to really loud boys (they don’t deserve to be called men with their behaviour) and I have a headache that’s killing me, but at least it was fun.
Oh, and I didn’t even mention I bought fudge... mint flavour, coffee flavour and baileys flavour...

Creation is going to try out streaming panels!
Pros:
The many people who are too far, not physically able to attend, or not well off enough financially can finally at least get in on the con experience legally.
More people being able to participate at all MIGHT (i’m not holding my breath) spread the financial burden around a bit and halt the incredible price hikes just to get in the door, let alone get a good seat, at the conventions themselves.
Quality video! With audio from the sound board! Sweet fucking Jesus! My auditory processing disorder will no longer be infuriated by echo-y rooms and loud audience members!
I, for one, would much rather pay a reasonable price for content I love than consume it illegally, and this makes that an actual option.
At current, pick and choose what you want is nice. There’s always that one panel that you end up flipping through your phone during and it’d be nice to be able to avoid that. And also to not pay full price for Sunday when there are only two or three panels.
Cons:
It’s still on their schedule, and that just isn’t going to work for everybody. If you have to carve out your weekend to watch a video on the internet, that’s a big fucking inconvenience.
A 15$ price tag for 45 minutes. Guys, I know this is just a trail run, like NashCon was, but be honest about the fact that that’s not a reasonable price. If I purchased tickets for all four panels streaming on Saturday, I’d be paying 60$ US. I got my general admission ticket for Saturday at VanCon for 70$ US. If it’s not actually a discount to not be there, It’s not an attractive proposition. That 45 minutes is not super content heavy, and it costs more than a 2 hour movie? eeeeee idk
20$ for the SNS isn’t that bad, honestly, but if you’re expecting people who don’t have the cash to travel to 3+ cons a year to start paying to view the SNS multiple times in a year? Guy........ it’s the same concert. It’s a concert I love but a) you have to FUCKING LOVE Louden Swain and b) unless the guest list is really different, it’s a similar setlist every weekend. I paid 15$ for the NashCon SNS stream and that had the same guestlist, minus Jim Beaver, but plus Jensen freakin’ Ackles.
I’m not convinced on Creation’s set up quite yet, and I’m worried that this means those wonderful people who have been dedicated to uploading panel videos all these years will stop, and we’ll be left with an inferior option or no option at all.
Did um......... did any of you guys try the streaming ticket for Ladies of SPN Con? God love everyone involved, they were doing their very best, but if the stream goes down does the convention stop? Do the streaming fans get a refund? Obviously Creation has the resources to fix the problem faster than a teensy fan run event, but I worry about who gets shafted if something goes wrong, because when I think ‘Creation’ I don’t think ‘masters of audio visual presentation’. I think ‘literally name me one day the mics didn’t stop working halfway through a panel’
Stageit isn’t my fave platform. It works for what it was built for, tossing a few extra bucks to an indie band you like and paid pennies to see play in the livestream, but the tipping system is stressful and ripe for the exact kind of money grubbing Creation is known for. The need to buy notes, and then buy the tickets with those notes, is needlessly complicated.
Next steps (IMHO, and before having actually seen how the streaming goes):
A weekend pass to the stream. Maybe a season’s pass to the stream? At a fucking discount, none of this full GA pricing shit.
A streaming library of panels, like Comic Con HQ have. It’s not fucking convenient to block out three days to watch a series of 45 minute videos. Honestly, I watch panel videos in the bath, or I play the audio while I’m driving. It’s also nice to have an archive when, at least for me, the SPN Family is an equal and almost seperate fandom, in which social media and panel videos are the canon. If we’re going to shift over to legal streams, there needs to be an archive, or half the purpose of illegal panel videos is lost. I’d probably pay a few bucks a month for access to a back catalog of panel videos! I’d probably pay a dollar or two a video for older videos. Obviously it would take a year or two to build up a back catalog since they haven’t been recording until now.
I might buy tickets to the R2M and J2 panels, depending on if I’m working that weekend. We’ll see how it goes!
#supernatural#spn family#creation#(I'm not not buying Misha because I dislike him. I like him a lot.#But his panels suffer from the same 'oh my god you saved my life' questions as J2 but as a solo panelist#he doesn't have anybody to play off of so frankly his panels aren't?? top entertainment???? in my very humble opinion?#J2 and R2M have great chemistry and R2M get to do their own thing. Misha has great chemistry with other cast members#but he never gets to show it at conventions)

Written by Monica Duarte and Doc_In_The_Box
Her Universe made a lot of Doctor Who fans excited by announcing that it would be offering the 13th Doctor outfit for sale. The new Doctor Who styles premiered exclusively at San Diego Comic Con and will be available in the fall at Hot Topic. We got our hands on the entire collection! The collection includes the 13th Doctor pants, jacket and top made by Her Universe. Since the reveal of Jodie Whittaker as the 13th Doctor on the BBC television series Doctor Who, fans have been putting together their own 13th Doctor inspired outfits and cosplays. Her Universe has now simplified that by providing fans with a place to purchase the officially licensed outfit. Jodie was seen briefly as the 13th Doctor at the end of the Twice Upon At Time Christmas Special. In the Christmas special Peter Capaldi’s 12th Doctor is seen regenerating into Jodie Whittaker’s 13th Doctor. Since then the anticipation for the new Doctor has been huge. At the Hall H Panel at San Diego Comic Con she received an overwhelmingly warm welcome from her fans. As well as a roaring applause when she surprised fans at the Her Universe Fashion Show by walking the runway as a model in the 13th Doctor Coat from their collection.
Much like our other Temple Of Geek Chic Reviews, we are taking this outfit and putting it to the geek test. If you’re looking for information about screen accuracy and how this holds up as a cosplay, check out our Screen Accuracy section below by cosplayer Doc In The Box. OK, lets get started.
The Coat
First, I just want to remind everyone that this coat is not meant to be a cosplay coat, even though it works perfectly fine as a cosplay or a bound. The coat is fully functional and meant for daily wear. It is meant to be a piece of your everyday wardrobe. It is like I stated before a fully functional coat and our favorite part about that is all the POCKETS!!!! The Pockets are deep! Two pockets in the front of the coat and a small deep pocket on the inside of the coat. I am almost certain that small pocket on the inside of the coat is meant for a sonic screwdriver. At least that is what I keep telling myself. This Anorak styled coat is almost floor length. The coat closes with snaps from top to bottom. There are no zippers on this coat. When you close the snaps completely from top to bottom it provides plenty of coverage from the wind and cold. The outer layer of the coat is 60% Cotton and 40% Polyester and lined with 100% polyester blue lining. It will most likely protect you from cold days and cold breezes but it may get soaked in rain or snow. A cool little addition to the coat, that we thought was really fun, is the TARDIS design on the inside lining of the coat. The coat is mid weight, but feels heavier because of how long it is. Before ordering, I recommend checking the size chart and paying attention to the length of the coat. I am 5’3″ and the coat was just above my ankles. The length looked much more fitting on Doc In The Box, who is 6″. Also a good note when checking the size chart, don’t focus on the size as much as on the measurements. This coat doesn’t seem to have a special women’s cut. We think it works well for both men and women. The sizing seemed a little off when comparing it to other Her Universe merchandise I have purchased in the past. I think it runs a little larger than their usual junior sizing. The reason for this may be because of something that Jodie Whittaker said during the Her Universe Fashion Show:
“Any age. Any gender. Any one can wear it. You’re not dressing as a girl and you’re not dressing as a boy. You’re dressing as The Doctor!” – Jodie Whittaker
The hood is wide and loose. If you pull it all the way over your head it comes down to just above the brow line. The color of the coat is a soft blue-ish gray. It almost looks beige in certain lights. Jodie describes this being inspired by the color of the sky that she fell through when she was thrown out of the TARDIS in the Christmas special. Overall I think it is a great coat for the fall weather and a great everyday coat. The thing that I appreciate most about the coat is that it is subtle in it’s design, and the color scheme is soft and can be worn with a wide variety of outfits. It is a great piece of incognito geek wear. It is also Time Lord approved as it was worn on the runway of the Her Universe Fashion Show by the 13th Doctor herself!
The Top
The rainbow top is soft and comfortable. I really appreciate that the rainbow stripe goes all the way around the back. The only concern I have about this top deals with the neckline. The collar appears to be ruched a little at the seam. I don’t know if that is intentional or not. It is a small detail, but something I noticed. The scoop neck hangs a little higher than the shirt worn by Whittaker in the promotional images. But like I stated before, this is meant to be an everyday representation of our fandom and not a screen accurate cosplay. But even then as far as screen accurate goes, this comes really really close. I wore it un-tucked in the photos to give readers a better idea of the length of the shirt. On the show it is worn tucked in.
The Pants/Trousers
High waisted for the win! The culotte style pants are high waisted and this curvy geek girl really appreciates that. These are probably one of the most comfortable pair of pants I have tried on. They are soft and drape nicely. There is a lot to say about the wide leg. I was initially against the look of the wide leg style. But after wearing them all day at a convention, I was reluctant to take them off. The comfort is real. They are perfect for both casual and dressy looks. Absolutely worth the buy. Pair them with a blazer or a cardigan and it’s perfect for work! This is a perfect example of geek wear that is sustainable and may be worn as more than just cosplay. Perfect for on and off the convention floor. The embroidered TARDIS above the pocket is absolutely darling. As mentioned with the length of the coat, be aware of the length of the pants. Depending on your height, the pants may not appear the same length on everyone. The pants have a sewn in cuff. In the promotional images of Jodie it looks like the pants are cuffed by hand. They do not come with buttons/snaps for the suspenders (bracers), they way that they do on the show. But if you’re really serious about using them with suspenders, you could probably sew in an attachment for them. Or you can go with a clip on style suspenders. I am more about comfort than I am about screen accuracy. And these are more than recognizable enough for a cosplay. Plus… TARDIS!!! I can’t get over how cute that embroidered TARDIS is. I can not speak to how these will look or fit on men, as we didn’t have an opportunity to try it on a guy. Let us know in the comments below if you are a guy who tried them on. I would love to hear your thoughts on fit.
Screen Accuracy Comparison by @Doc_in_the_Box
This is a breakdown of the coat as Monica covered some of the differences in the top and trousers above.
Personally, I love this coat and wish I had “ready to wear”, “off the rack”, “available in store” options like this when I was building some of my Doctor cosplays!
The coat is sturdy and very well made, with everything needed to be recognized as the Thirteenth Doctor. Now, keep in mind, this coat was designed for casual street wear. This is not a screen accurate replica of the actual coat.
We have provided side by side photo comparisons of the screen accurate coat and the Her Universe coat below. Here is what we found:
Front of the coat: The Her Universe coat does not have a seam on the left side of the coat, which leaves the left side ending at the rainbow stripe. There are buttons (snaps) added to the Her Universe coat which run from top to bottom that you don’t see on the screen accurate coat. We assume that the reason for this is that the Her Universe coat is meant to be functional and close completely, where the actual 13th Doctor coat is a costume and not meant to be functional. The rainbow pattern is definitely different but still recognizable as part of The Doctor’s wardrobe. Hood lining on the Screen Accurate coat runs to the very edge of the hood where the Her Universe coat has about a two inch seam from the edge.
The Her Universe Coat has the rainbow stripe starting at the edge one one side.
Her universe coat has snaps, and the rainbow patterns are slightly different
Pockets: Pockets are a different style and design with the HU coat running vertically and the SA coat angled about 45°. Piping on the SA coat runs around the outside of the pocket where the HU coat runs on the back edge of theirs. We have no idea yet if the SA coat will have an inside pocket the way the HU coat does, but as the previous four incarnations of the Doctor had inside pockets, we don’t see why the 13th Doctor wouldn’t.
Pockets are angled, Her universe coat has them straight
Sleeves: Piping on the sleeve does not go all the way around on the SA Coat. Where as sleeve piping on the Her Universe coat does. Piping on Jodie’s coat is also angled where as the Her Universe coat runs straight across the sleeve. This is a small detail, but we are adding it in just for kicks, the SA coat has pink lining inside the sleeve, which the Her Universe coat does not have.
Piping on the sleeve is slightly at an angel
Pink lining inside of sleeve, piping only on top portion of the sleev
Back of the coat: Both coats have princess seams on the back for a better coat fit. We are not 100% certain but we believe that the SA coat has a vent/slit in the back. In the promotional photos it is hard to tell. But in some of the action shots it looks like only a portion of the back of the coat is lifting up, giving the impression of a vent. We can not be certain but are making an educated guess that the SA coat has a vent. The HU coat does not.
Filimg photo reveals a vent in the back of the coat (left)
Filming photo from the set makes us believe that there may be a vent
Both coats have princess seams on the back of the coat
Snapshot from the trailer makes us believe that there may be a vent
With all that said, there is still no reason you want to let this coat pass you by. The price point is reasonably priced and, unlike cosplay replica websites where you have to hope and wish the item you ordered fits correctly and looks as good as the pictures they provided, you can actually see and try this coat on in store before purchasing. Even if you are looking for the perfect screen accurate replica coat for your cosplay, I would still highly recommend this coat as the perfect stand in to get you out on that convention floor sooner while you continue to work on that screen accurate replica. The coat does fit universally, as I have worn it myself, so any Time Lord loving individual could sport this coat. The only telling design of the coat that differentiates it from a women’s or men’s coat would be the direction of the button snaps but, does that really matter? I think not. The Doctor is The Doctor and I’m still going to be wearing mine on the convention floor! The only detail I really wish they kept in the design of this coat is the rear vent but that didn’t stop us from bringing this coat home from Comic Con. All in all, if there is any doubt about the quality or look of this coat, I refer you to The Doctor herself, strutting it down the catwalk during the Her Universe Fashion Show at San Diego Comic Con.
Overall
As a cosplay it is absolutely the most comfortable and most functional cosplay I (Monica) have worn to date. I wore it all day at San Diego Comic Con and combined with all the pant and coat pockets it was perfect for my con needs. I was able to comfortably walk around in it at the convention and carry my camera bag on my back while wearing the coat. It is more than recognizable as a 13th Doctor Cosplay. I really love this outfit! For the price you are paying, for the opportunity to try it on in store at a Hot Topic and not blindly online, the price is a steal. The pants are my favorite because they align with current fashion trends and styles, they are comfortable and they feel nice on. This entire outfit is huge win for Her Universe. I just really hope they come out with the suspenders soon!
My Fangirl dreams came true last night when THE DOCTOR, Jodie Whittaker herself, made a surprise appearance at our Fashion Show!!!! I am BEYOND excited for the new season of Doctor Who and Jodie was even more amazing than I ever could have imagined. I also got to meet the new executive producer for Doctor Who, Chris Chibnall, and he was just as amazing!!!!!! Thank you SO much to @bbcdoctorwho for making this happen!!!This fangirl is counting down the days until we get new WHO!!!!
