goddamn if i earned the whole weekend off for going to this awful work confrence today
#i wasnt required to go since im only part time but i get paid time off for saturday if i went so i did#so i dont regret it but it was So Bad#it was just all just hours of corporate nonsense bullshit that barely relates to our jobs and ultimately means nothing#i swear not a single thing was retained in my brain bc none of it was anything of substance#plus an interlude of the most painfully awkward queer inclusivity training ever sat through#which like 1 half the ppl in that room were openly and visibly queer like have you met like any library staff ever??#and 2 the speaker managed to do it in a way that frustrated every single person there somehow#and the food was bad and they scheduled 500 breaks so the whole thing couldve been over in half the time#and they gave us so many fidget toys which im still trying to decide if thats patronizing or not#bc on one hand im glad i had them or else i wouldve lost my entire mind#but on the other they literally gave a room full of grown ass adults cheap plastic toys so theyll sit still for 6 hrs so#they whole thing was just messy but its done and now i dont have to work this weekend#work adventures#shhh julie
