Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Alison Kelly quickly established herself in her neighborhood as a troublemaker. What started off as a bit of a hot temper, left unregulated by her meek parents with their too-many children, turned into a full-blown violent streak. Just recently, Alison was expelled from her fourth school after attacking one of her fellow students. (What they don't tell you, she'll say when you ask, is that he had been following her home for weeks.)

Now her parents have decided to ship her off to boarding school, in hopes of quelling Alison's love of conflict. Alison herself is hungry for popularity, ready to be seen for her true, fabulous self. Somehow, though, she never quite manages to get the social credit she's looking for. Maybe this time will be different?

Lorna is perhaps the archetype for the stereotypical English boarding school girl -- practical, outgoing, and possessed of a healthy sense of humour. She's always ready to muck in, solve a problem, or join in with the latest caper. Out of the classroom she can be found on the hockey pitch, or playing the accompaniment for the school choir.

Growing up as the youngest child, Lorna's best friends were her older brothers, who doted on their little sister. Even now the three of them are extremely close, and she eagerly combs every post delivery for their letters, counting the days until they are home on leave.

The eldest child of Edmund Bartlett and Savita Grover Bartlett, Mina Rosemary Bartlett, age 17, is a candidate for Ms. Agnes Crumplebottom's Henford Ladies College. Her well-off father is a member of London's merchant class, her mother of mixed English and Indian heritage, the daughter of a doctor. When the Blitz arrives in London, Edmund and Savita venture to send their daughter to boarding school in Henford, additionally hoping that the rural setting will help mitigate her melancholy temperament. An artistic prodigy, Mina loves to paint portraits and hopes to find classmates to befriend as she was often lonely in childhood save her younger brother, Eddie. Her grades in other subjects are middling as she prefers to focus on her creative gift. Mina puts pressure on herself to follow the rules to earn others' approval and play the role of a proper young lady to fit in amongst her peers. Will she learn to let loose and have fun, make friends, and hone her talent?

Ellen Carroll was born in Ottawa, Canada to an English father and a Canadian mother. As the only child in a tense household, nearly every decision about her life was turned into something her parents argued about - her schooling more than anything else. At her mother's insistence she attended school in Canada for most of her life, but only under the condition that she would attend a proper English girl's school from fourteen to sixteen. What wasn't factored into the plan, however, was that all of Europe would go to war shortly before she was supposed to come home. Now unable to cross the Atlantic, she was placed in another English school to receive a very unplanned further education.

Ellen, meanwhile, was having an absolutely miserable time of it. Her years at the school had been lonely, the other girls seeing her only as something foreign and not as a friend. That wasn't what she was most upset by, however - she didn't mind her own space and talking about boys bored her. No, she missed her home, working in her garden all afternoon and walking down streets she knows. She dreams of one day going home and becoming a botanist to study plants from all over her country.

For now, she worries about her new school. Will the other girls mock her for her accent again? Will they think her odd for not wanting romance? How does Latin even work?

Clarke family facts:

Her father, John Clarke is a banker, while her mother Cynthia is a homemaker. They're upper-middle class.

Her father was in Britechester's football team (soccer).

Her older sister Catherine "Cate" is 24 ans she's her role model and the victim of mochery.

Cate also went to Britechester and studied education. She married her childhood sweetheart and neighbor, James Lawrence (CJ was both thrilled and grossed out).

Jamie was like the brother CJ never had; he's also a victim of her pranks .

Cate and Jamie married in the summer of 1938, when the war started, Jamie left his job to enlist, not long after Cate decided to join the Red Cross.

I know these are pretty simple shoes, but I hope you guys like them! I spent a lot of time on the mesh and textured it all from scratch, trying to get a Keds/Vans vibe to them (the "brand" on the sole of the shoes says "Vends" in simlish!). I was conflicted with the stitching details, but I used most of the UV area to make sure the shoelaces looked good and anything else too detailed on such a small space didn't read well or very maxis matchy.

I got carried away with picking palettes, but this way people can download the palette they want! I also finally got to use that lovely Thrifty Finds palette!
