I'm feeling devious... can you write Edge x Reader angst?

You ask and you shall receive. These are just gonna be general red flag headcanons with s/o mixed in.

Due to his time serving in the royal guard, his emotions are quite lacking. He rarely takes the time to analyze how other people are feeling before speaking, causing a lot of misunderstandings.

He feels bad when he realizes he upset you, but doesn't acknowledge it completely. He'd make you food or something to help make you feel better.

He is loud. Doesn't matter what he is doing, his voice is at a constant yell unless he just woke up. If you ask him to quiet down, he will maybe be a bit quieter for about 5 minutes before going back to his regular volume. It's a constant headache, but if you copy his voice and how loud it is, he will get angry and tell you to be quiet.

It's hypocritical, and it's definitely annoying as hell. If you call him out on it, he'll just get even more irritated and will attempt to avoid you for the rest of the day, refusing to look you in the eyes. It's because he knows you're right, but he just doesn't want to admit it.

Doomfanger is his life, and will choose her over you anytime during the first couple months of your relationship. If she decides she doesn't like you, Edge doesn't like you. End of story.

Because of the nature of Underfell and the Underground in his original AU, he would push you to not show weakness. Even if the surface is safe(mostly), he would still try to make you better yourself and become stronger. He would also try to push you to engage in self-defense classes or just teach you himself.

Despite being a reclused arse, he still wants to keep you safe, which is why he would be pushy to stay with him when out in public and to learn defense.

He would blame himself forever if you got hurt because of him, and would become over-protective over you.

Edge is sensitive around the neck, and this is not something you should be happy about.

Attempting to touch there would just make him growl at you as a warning to keep your hands off. If you don't heed to said warning, he would push you off of him and cause him to give you the cold shoulder for the rest of the day and probably lead into the next.

Trying to get him to talk about his feelings is a no no, as it would cause him to try to push you away even more. He will come to you in his time, don't force him to do anything.

Speaking of hiding things, if he gets hurt, like breaking an ankle or a rib, he would try to hide it the the best he can.

He can go weeks, almost months, of showing no sign of pain before he refuses to get out of bed in obvious agony.

He doesn't want to be perceived as weak, and wouldn't want to worry you either.

Trigunbookclub vol1-2 reread and OHHHHHH god this one's gonna Hurt ;o; (spoiler alert: I already feel DISTRAUGHT like I've been hit by a truck; here we go again with the incoming Emotional Damage~)

See, because if in vol1 Vash asked Rem in his dreams his ongoing existential question: how people in such a terribly dry world aka his waking reality found reasons (hope) to keep on living

"...Rem. I had this dream. Everything was so terribly dry...even people's hearts. In a world like that...I kept asking myself, why people would go on living."

And then after experiencing the Sand Steamer incident, where everyone's Doomed 'ticket' on that ship could be changed and course-corrected with the help of people working together to survive this, he feels a closer understanding towards her beliefs in humanity's hope & potential, and more of those answers towards what it means for people to go on living.

"Maybe...this is what it means for people to go on living. This must be what she believed...why she traded her life for everyone else's."

...But then in vol2 we suddenly violently understand WHY he kept on asking himself that question....

BECAUSE, for all this time, his ONLY reason that's kept HIM going so far (driven with one purpose despite how Hard and dry it's been to live) has been to find & settle his score with Knives. ;o; THAT fiercely angry & resentful, too.

"[Finding Knives is] the the one thing that has kept me living for so long. I must send him to hell! That monster killed Rem! It's time for him to pay for his sins! He's mine!"

But whoaaaaa there, oh noooo Vash sweetie....just what would Rem think of that? Surely her sentiment and sacrifice for the chance that Everyone else could even have a 'blank ticket' future applies to both you and Knives too, right?

"I made a promise. And if I put out the light of even one life, I don't think [Rem] would forgive me."

Because now! Wouldn't Vash's promise to Rem be broken, and wouldn't she become terribly sad (including her whole belief & legacy she's left behind), IF either he or Knives were excluded from that? Would she even be happy if her boys died or ended up killing each other TOO? D:

OR can Vash absolutely not even See Himself (& Knives) as part of that same equation as those (other people humans) whose lives are Worth saving----

...!!!!!!!! ;A; *gasp* OH MY GOD VASH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~!!!! Aaaa, that's the painful extent of how little he values himself and his life's worth--hating that of what he is, with the terrible destructive power he's capable of and does not want, so much to the point he regrets ever being born.

Bonus: and then all of a sudden his daily pondering at breakfast (vol2 omake: 'Day In Day Out'), where he thinks he can't ever really live like a normal person, hits with terribly upsetting clarity:

god, i just finished astarion's companion quest and i'm on cloud fucking nine. "killed" cazador like 2 rounds into the fight by hurling his evil nerd ass off the edge of his stupid drama pillar with wyll's eldritch blast. then convinced astarion that he could be better than what cazador tried to make of him so he stopped the ritual, stabbed cazador to death, and freed all the spawn. karlach said she was so proud of astarion that she could "smooch that pointy little face" of his. then back at camp, astarion expressed his heartfelt thanks to my paladin, who he has been clashing with for this ENTIRE playthrough, for seeing the good in him even though he's resisted it so often.

i'm fucking swimming in validation right now. i don't think i'll stop smiling for the next hour.
