I basically took every single prompt in that post and shoved it in here because it felt so intensely BBRae I couldn't help it!!!

Sitting on the couch in the titans tower, Beast Boy had nothing better to do. With Cyborg and Starfire off doing whatever weird brother-sister stuff they usually did (it had definitely had something to do with pranking Robin, Beast Boy was fairly certain of it,) and them VERY RUDELY not even asking to tag him along, he found himself staring at Raven who was reading a book.

“Heyyy Rae” mischief clouding his eyes, he scooted over to her side of the couch, and stared nosily into her book, “whatcha doin???”

“Reading” came a dry reply, she didn’t even turn her head towards him, and he felt offended (naaaww he didn’t) and made up his mind to annoy it out of her.

With that same mischievous voice and the exact same tone as before, he asked, “whatcha readin???”

“A book”

Beast boy rolled his eyes, what sort of a reply was that?!

But BB wasn’t one to give up easily, and AND AND in the very same tone, asked once again, “which book are ya readin Rae?”

He almost expected her to turn demon, and slap the hell out of him, but instead she just shoved the book in his face. It was some cringey novel called ‘After’.

“Ooohhhhhh” with an excited face, and in an almost chimpanzee like posture, he faced Raven, legs spread out in a squat, hands in between, “is that a rommie rommie novel???” He was actually making side eyes at her, Raven rolled her eyes and shook her head.

“So what if it is?”

“YOU READ ROMMIES!!!!!”

“Can you please stop calling them rommies?” She groaned, annoyed.

“But they aaarrreeeee rommies! With lots and lots and lots of kissing” he made a kissy pout and literal heart eyes.

“You know, a hotty hotty guy and a hotty hotty girl and they’re like OOOOH and AAAAHHH” Beast boy was already rolling on the floor laughing, while Raven was starting to turn red.

“It’s my book!!!” she finally said, defiant, and still redder than Robin’s costume, “I can read whatever I wanna!!”

“Aaahhh” Beast boy took a minute to take a breath from laughing, and then looked at the book again, trying to process once again, where he had heard of it, “Oh!!!” The light bulb suddenly lit, and then his laughter was even more uncontrollable than before. He fell flat back on the floor, guffawing, and amidst his tears from excessive laughing, and the ache in his cheeks, he coughed out, “is... isn’t that the— the Hiro Tiffin guy’s— CHICK FLI—“ he couldn’t get through the sentence in another bout of laughter.

“You sure do know an awful lot about this ‘Rommie Chick Flick’ Gar” Raven shot back, raising her eyebrows, “ever watched it with your girlfriend?”

With that it was Garfield’s turn to turn red, “Naaawwwwww” the way he said it, Raven burst into a conceited smirk, “you HAVE!”

Beastie realised he was in a tough spot now, and hurried over to change the topic, leaning into the book, reading over her shoulder, and she looked at him, annoyed, but then realising he was apparently harmless, she turned back at the book.

He traced her gaze, reading with her, and then she turned the page three lines before he could finish. Following that, this continued for a while, as Raven kept turning the pages, while Beastie couldn’t finish the entire thing, and oh gosh how fast exactly did she read?! And he couldn’t ask her to stop and wait because that’d mean risking her wrath!

His mind had strayed off the story, filled with plot holes because he was missing paragraphs on paragraphs, when suddenly some words caught his eye.

“Dude” he smirked, and he realised Raven’s face turning RED.

He also continued reading, as Raven’s face turned redder and redder, realising that Beast Boy was reading the same thing as she was reading, and WHAT exactly she was reading was a very, very explicit smut scene.

“What… the…” he whistled, “The movie only had them kissing in the lake” he chuckled, loving having the upper hand again, while Raven basically MELTED with embarrassment.

She abruptly shut the book, “WHY ARE YOU READING WITH ME?”

“You didn’t mind earlier” he said, shaking his head, a big goofy grin plastered to his face.

“You’re an idiot, Gar” she rolled her eyes, it was that statement that usually, always got her out of trouble with Gar. Anytime Gar caught her in a tough spot, (and it was starting to happen more and more often these days, she wondered why. She couldn’t fathom why) she’d just say this, and Gar would blush, and change the topic.

“Uhmmmmm I have an idea…? I mean not so much of an idea as a thought? Interested in hearing?” It worked, magically, and he changed the topic. She looked at him, then nodded, “Wassup?”

“okay, this is going to sound crazy, and you’re totally free to punch me in the face, but…”

“But…?”

Gar resisted the urge to make a Butt joke, and continued, in a sober, solemn tone, that made her giggle almost… girlishly, “i can’t believe I’m about to admit it, but, you now, i’ve always kinda wondered what it would be like to kiss you.“

Raven felt like she had just plummeted down fifteen storeys.

“What?”

Garfield was surprised that she didn’t totally get-angry-then-punch-slap-throw-him-down—the-tower-window him.

“Nothing, I mean it was just a fleeting thought? I mean Kory’s kissed Dick, and nothing’s gone wrong between them? I was just wondering… who made that rule that you can’t kiss your friends? Sometimes my friends (esp youuuu) feel very kissable.” Beast Boy said, throwing a nervous explanation all of a sudden, and now both of them were blushing, but it was a good kind of blushing,

“so… does that mean you’ve thought about this for quite a while, or… “ Raven asked, and Beast Boy was surprised yet again, not so much at Rachel’s question, but more at the fact that she hadn’t get-angry-then-punch-slap-throw-him-down—the-tower-window’ed him yet.

“once or twice?” He said, hesitantly, then corrected, “A…. While?”

Then under Raven’s piercing gaze, he finally conceded, “Okay, a LOT”

Then suddenly, something struck him, and it HURT, “Wait so you’ve never thought about it? not even once?” He questioned.

“you mean us, kissing?“ She asked, pausing to think for a second, then admitted, “can’t say it never crossed my mind…. But we’re friends“

“yeah, but… friends kiss each other all the time, right?“ He asked, shaking his head, but feeling awkward out, once again, he added, “I’m so, so sorry for bringing this u—“ he found himself cut off, seeing Raven’s expression change into a soft smile, “actually, i would love to kiss you.“

“Wait WHAT?” He couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

“let’s just… kiss to see what it’s like.“ She said, and suddenly she felt approachable, and… was it soft?

“wait, you’re serious? you’re actually going to kiss me?“ He was redder than Robin’s uniform AGAIN.

“It’s not like i have anything better to do.“ She chuckled, and grabbed him by the collar, pulling him closer, and for a complete four seconds, their lips came, and stayed in contact. It was soft, like a butterfly fluttering it’s wings, and sweet, like dewdrops in the grass early morning, and… and it was over wayyyyy too soon.

If they were blushing earlier, right now, the two’s skin had absorbed the colour red, and would probably permanently stay that way. Raven chuckled to notice even Beast Boy’s green, pointy ears were red on the corners, and radiating heat.

“This is awkward….“ He started,

“yeah… it is….“ she agreed, but in unison, both of them chimed in,

“Doesn’t mean we need to stop”

“—Doesn’t mean we need to stop”

And with that, they were back exploring each other’s lips passionately, for an entirety of fifteen seconds, after which, suddenly a sound of coughing broke them apart, and completely embarrassed the two pulled away, and stared at their three friends standing in the doorway with a cake, and candles.

“Happy… Birthday?” Dick said, unsure of how to start a conversation, but it Cyborg who swooped in to save the day, and placing an arm around Raven’s shoulder, he started, “we asked you to keep him busy. And I think you did a great job Rae” he winked. Raven coughed, and through her embarrassment, stuttered out, “nobody, calls me Rae”

“Except ME!!!!!!!” Gar also chimed in, now recovering from the initial shock and bliss of the kiss, to come back to his pompous mood, and the extreme sense of achievement after having kissed Rachel Roth.

Then he turned to Dick and Kory, who still stood in the doorway, confuuuusseeedddd.

“Wait Birthday?”

Raven turned her head towards Beast Boy, over Cyborg’s shoulder, “You forgot your own birthday?” That was incredulous, considering he was almost usually ALWAYS super excited about it.

“I… did?”

Cyborg extended his robotic hand, and retrieved something from Beast Boy’s room, to show it to everyone in the room, “Ahhh” he made a satisfied noise, “Just as I had guessed. Beastie, your CALENDAR which we had gotten you for your last birthday, still shows Third of March! That was the last time I turned it!!”

“Oh yeah, that thing’s broken. It doesn’t update time and date like it used to” he said, leaning back against the couch, and feeling GOOD. Cyborg, Raven, Robin and Starfire all found their heads banging against a wall, as they realised Beast Boy assumed the calendar to be a digital one.

But BB was happy. Yeah, he was very happy.

Birthday, topped with a cake AND A KISS WITH RAE RAE. Life was good :)
