ok im not tagging this because i do not want to discourse with anyone i just have a lot of thoughts i wanted to get off my chest about MOUTHWASHING! and how people treat the characters, in this case anya. wrote it up on discord earlier but i wanted to actually archive it. if u see no issues with what im about to describe its like whatever, i dont think u are stupid or bad at media or anything, this is MY viewpoint. spoilers for the game + mentions of rape/suicide

so i saw a drawing on tumblr today of anya with a halo of the sunset screen, with curly, daisuke, and swansea all leaning against her, and holding the horse fetus. and it was captioned "mary of tulpar". and it just really really bothered me. and i think the reasons it bothered me are the same reason basically all the art i've seen of her has bothered me. i'm going to try and be very careful with how i word this because i do not want it to be misconstrued. i just think that the fans have done this thing where they do not know how to approach her identity as a victim and so they figuratively (or literally in this drawing) make her into the virgin mary. where she is a symbol, and a symbol that has been hurt and tainted, but not a person who has a right to feel any way about it. just a symbol that the other (male) characters can lean on (LITEARLLY IN THIS CASE) for strength. there is this seeming consensus that in some way her rape has elevated her (?) and made her into this saint-figure. i do not think this is done intentionally but it is done consistently. it just makes me feel really weird because truly we are turning her into a martyr which does not seem to me like a responsible way of handling the character. like you are defining her entire character on her victimhood. which the game already plays into (one of my issues with it) but the thing is, fanwork inherently lets you give a NEW lens to a story. and yet i swear the fans are OBSESSED with her suffering even moreso than the narrative itself is. like to them she is her suffering. and its a horror game. like obviously that's the point. and obviously in the game she has a 'bad ending'. but i'm sorry i honestly feel like her 'bad ending' is a BETTER angle to focus on for her character. again going to word this carefully but the thing is about anya's suicide is that she does win against jimmy. liike you obviously don't want to say that about someone killing themselves but within the context of this story her death was a victory & took the power out of his hands.

omg first i need to talk about nct at song festival (gayo daechukjae) umm first of all mark and taeyongs rap was so good but ofc we all knew they would kill it. and then in nct U class, teacher taeyong looked so good...the way he bit that pointer stick thing in the beginning was so sexc (and the hair and the glasses ahdsfasjf) 😳 but also sungchans rap in that?? i was not expecting that but why am i even surprised anymore.. and also misfit live?? i loved nct's school uniform concept too for some reason ahahaha

and then xiaojun in resonance!! wow yes go shine xj!!! (also idk why but i found it so funny when it was doyoung's turn after xj, but xj was kinda blocking dy (who was really walking with a PURPOSE) so dy lightly pushed him out of the way) and then omg shotaro!! offstage he is so 😊 but damn in hard carry he was so good!! ahh and then also the thing where all the kpop artists at gayo daechukjae sang that song was so cute (i smiled so hard when nct came up 🥺)

yea for my job situation i think it will be okay, i talked to some people i know/mentors about it too and i think things will work out...they always do in the end right? 😊 now about anime LOL this is making me wanna start/rewatch an anime now hahahah! honestly i kind of have phases where i alternate between kdramas and animes, but i havent rly watched anime much lately besides haikyuu (which i was also surprised was still airing (but it's only season 2 so far?)). kpop (aka NCT) has been consuming my life lmao but im here for it 😂

weightlifting fairy was also my first kdrama!! yes i can totally give u some kdrama recs! besides the ones i mentioned before (which are most of my top ones), i also liked chicago typewriter, marriage not dating (i love the fake relationship trope hahaha), dinner mate, sky castle (it's kinda intense but it's so good and an iconic kdrama), cheer up, another miss oh, kingdom (if you like zombie things)...i heard startup is good and i want to watch it soon too! also i continued watching more of uncanny counter these past few days and i love it (but it's ongoing so no binging)

okay now svt: i watched some of your recs and youre so right all their choreos are so satisfying?! i also actually agree with you about black on black, i liked black on black and it was cool but it only featured like 5 members lmao and in the svt choreos it does feel like all of them are featured in some way in each performance? plus their choreos are just so great to watch!! also i've had left and right stuck in my head since i watched it LOL but i agree it's objectively better than dynamite (not an army though; also pls nobody come at us for this lmaoo)

SEVENTEEN!!!!: yeah all of their choreos are so satisfying (pointing this out one more time) they always pay attention to details (for example in home, bc you're familiar with it, they even choreograph the hands and pay attention to them while most of the other kpop choreos very often freestyle the whole arms sjagaj) here's a fun fact abt svt that makes me love them so much agsgsj: they're self produced! they produce their own music and they even come up with their own choreos!! (of course not on their own, woozi is a producer but he's not making songs on his own he coproduces them with [a producer name bc i guess that's irrelevant but if you’re curious: bumzu], they come up with their own choreo (to be precise, hoshi does! he is 1/2 main dancers in group and he is the main choreographer! he doesn't do everything on his own of course, he gets help from the rest of the performance team (which is a svt subunit consisted of their 2 main and 2 lead dancers: hoshi, dino, the8, jun) and of course some other infamous kpop choreography teams) and i think that, by now, all the members were credited at least once for the lyrics

I was laughing so hard at the hide and seek bit oh my god, it was so CUTE!!! and they all looked like they had so much fun, it warms my heart. omgjbhjsbshjs the part where ashton threw jin over his shoulder sent me over the edge it was too funny. and yoongi looked so happy to have his hand held and james was so cute when he put his other hand on top of yoongis as well, it was so sweet omg 😢♥ It’s my favorite american interview/talk show that they’ve done so far and I just want to thank james again for being so great to them 💞 ALSO HE CONFIRMED CARPOOL KARAOKE!!!! so we should be getting that soon. he usually releases it a little while after the actual show & i cannot wait to see it i’ve been waiting for them to do carpool karaoke since they started interviewing in America and now we’re finally getting it!!! im so grateful for all the fun things james is doing with them, its a nice break from all the other annoying western interviews they have to deal with. YES EGO!!! im so excited i honestly forgot about it because of getting back into school but i cant waitjsnkjsnn i really love how bighit actually gave us a schedule for when things are dropping so know we can at least mentally prepare ourselves a bit yknow? everything about this album feels huge, its making me that much more excited 🥺 personally, i think it’ll be hobi because they seem to still be following the intro pattern that they’ve set but who knows!! also, that interesting that people are saying jk??? i wonder why they think that. but regardless of who it is im so excited to hear it!! everything they do is amazing!! but omg if they brought back rapper jk for ego or something i might pass out ……………. 💀
