LeapClan cats are a determined, loyal, and scrappy bunch. Often riddled with scars from their neighbors and mortal enemies, DiveClan, LeapClan felines focus much of their efforts to battle and strategy. Their small numbers are an attribute to how far they'll go for their clan, finding that dying in battle is of the utmost highest honor, and many of their numbers have fallen under those circumstances. Even if LeapClan's values seem barbaric, they pride themselves on their community and kinship with each other. Their scars show their love for each other and for their home. What a shame it couldn't save them.

6 moons in and these little freaks have created a situation so weird i cannot just sit here and Not draw them despite not having drawn warrior cats seriously since 2016. rest of the clan to come :3

SurgeClan - “Weather The Battering Storm”

Similar to ShoalClan, SurgeClan lived by the ocean, though their territory was significantly rockier and had an abundance of cliffs.  The other Clans regarded them as belligerent, blunt, and arrogant.  SurgeClan argued that you had to be tough to survive, and those were simply traits that came with being tough.

SurgeClan named themselves for the rough waters they lived near.  Where ShoalClan's waters were shallow and calm, SurgeClan's were deep and treacherous.  Due to how dangerous the waters were, SurgeClan cats made no effort to learn how to swim.  Instead they focused on scaling the stone cliffs while being buffeted by the harsh winds.  Their motto, “Weather The Battering Storm”, is a reflection of their toughness and immovability.

SurgeClan's trade was seabird eggs, rock sage, chamomile, and wild garlic.  They often traded these for TangleClan’s rabbit pelts, enjoying the warmth that the soft fur provided against the harsh winds of their territory.

SurgeClan left their dead at the bottom of the cliffs, believing that their souls would be reborn as albatrosses.  They couldn’t be buried or their new bodies would be unable to take flight, choking on dirt and water until they died a second time.

The last known leader of SurgeClan was Ploverstar.  Her deputy and healer were Coastslate and Shoredusk respectively.  There are no known SurgeClan survivors at this time.

The tides are turning. A new era is upon us. The sea always collects a debt unpaid.

Long, long ago, a rogue named Tide searched her way from the mountains to the strait's shore, guided by the light of the North Star. There she settled near a sandy spit, along with all those who had followed her from the mountains and those who had joined her after dwelling their whole lives near the coastline, and named her group TideClan. There came conflict, there came betrayal, as Tide (or Tidestar, as she had named herself after the omen that brought her here) proved unprepared for the duties of leadership, and was slain by her closest confidant--the first deputy Fogwhisper.

Many, many moons later, TideClan came under the rule of a cruel leader by the name of Alderstar. A group of cats, lead by three lovers named Ternstrike, Copperheart, and Tansyclaw--or Ternstar, Copperstar, and Tansystar--rebelled against her, starting their own Clan in the nearby drier forests and fields, which they named BrushClan. Alderstar did not take this lying down, and declared war. The two groups fought for a year, before Ternstar and Alderstar both fell in one final, bloody battle. TideClan's new leader, Ploverstar (formerly Ploverstep), was quick to make peace--but even now, two years since that day, tensions are still high, and few have forgotten Alderstar's war.

anyways i drew them. finally.

(for a little bit of context, cormorantclaw is a senior warrior of tideclan. he was a pretty major figure in the war for brushclan's independence, and if i were ploverstar i would've long since made him deputy but. eh. also he's got this recurring thing where all his apprentices meet a horrible tragic fate once they become warriors)

i'll probably draw the dustfeathers next

hence, the leaders of the clans in @shadowsofhiraeth, as the leaders of the sects i associate with them! quick explanation under the cut

qinghe nie sect: HUGE. struggle w temperament, but are known for their strength and ethic- they don't care about blood as long as you can prove yourself useful. so i made them thunderclan! this parallel is the reason i made these drawings, i REALLY wanted to see hollystar in all of thar armoured gold

yunmeng jiang sect: water bitches! all of them are incredible swimmers, they live on piers and build around marshes because their whole area is full of lotus ponds and rivers. i thought therefore that riverclan would fit them!

lanling jin sect: care more about beauty and reputation, have a motif of gold. they dont fit windclan EXACTLY but the people there DO tend to be of a slighter build and they care a lot about their blood, which lines up with shadows of hiraeth’s lore in that they were the only clan that didn’t take in any shadowclan refugees

gusu lan sect: skyclan babyyyyyyyyyyy ok the lan sect literally have a sky motif and live somewhere called the Cloud Recesses. do i need to explain any further? no i dont. but they’re pretty serious about their rules and keeping to them! the skyclan of SoH fits this really well.

which lives the qishan wen sect as shadowclan - the fifth great sect that was completely wiped out thirteen years before the events of mdzs. the parallels between the wen clan’s extinction and shadowclan’s in SoH is almost too perfect!

i’ll most likely be drawing more and more of this au that will go nowhere purely because it makes me happy. watch out for that, i guess?

and if you couldn’t tell, minkstar’s outfit is based on donghua jiang cheng, hollystar’s outfit is a mix of donghua and manhua nie mingjue, ploverstar’s outfit is a mix of donghua and novel jin guangyao and raccoonmask’s outfit is a mix of donghua and novel lan xichen!

happy adulting, goosespots! this one took awhile but it was because of the new shading style, background cats, and more.. there will be minor stylistic changes past this moon to make cats look more expressive and uh cooler yay
