I hope this hasn’t been talked about before, but Beauty And The Beast has always reminded me a lot of Twilight. Here are some similarities I've found:
First, let’s talk about Belle’s character:
Clearly, the most obvious similarity here is the name (Belle and Bella)
Then the similarity in appearance between the characters (Such as brown hair, brown eyes, pale skin)
They're both autistic-coded
Next is their shared interest in literature
Love interests other than The Beast/Edward
Now getting a little bit past the surface level, we have the fact they both heavily play into the 'I'm not like other girls' trope
Neither Belle, nor Bella seem to care much about their own well-being (Of course, Bella is the more extreme out of the two, but they both fit into this category)
Neither of them really have a good mother figure in their life
Other people in the story see her as unstable (For Belle, it's all the townspeople, for Bella it's Edward)
Now, here are some similarities Edward shares with The Beast:
The main thing they have in common is they hate their species/form/whatever you want to call it
The constant brooding
Both are rich 🙄
Social 'outcasts'
'Bad Boy with a heart of gold' trope (even though I don't believe either of them, especially Edward, have a 'heart of gold')
They are both introverted
Unlawful, socially frowned upon behavior (For Edward its's his stalking, for The Beast it's kidnapping)
Both The Beast and Edward are disliked by Maurice and Charlie
Side note- Though Edward is most similar to The Beast, I could also see a lot of similarities between him and Gaston (funny isn't it?), here they are:
Both feel like they are superior to those around them
Misogynistic
Conventionally attractive
Many of the characters in the story are interested in them (For Gaston it's pretty much every woman in town besides Belle, and for Edward [this part was revealed in Midnight Sun] it's Jessica Stanley, Angela Weber, and others)
Doesnt like the books Belle/Bella reas dkjfdjdkjsdklj
I was rewatching the movie to make sure I didn't miss anything in this post and in the Gaston song there's this lyric 'In a wrestling match nobody bites like Gaston' and all I could picture was this:

Okay, back to the actual post
Plot points/Miscellanious
Obviously, The Beast/Edward and Belle/Bella ending up together
The isolation of Belle/Bella, for Belle it's her being physically isolated from the outside world, for Bella it's her socially isolating herself from her friends when she meets Edward
For some reason Lumiere reminds me of Carlisle????
After reading Midnight Sun, It's clear the audience isn't supposed to like Mike Newton, similar to Gaston
This next one takes a bit of explaining but hear me out (it's about the first 50 seconds or so of this scene)
So, the scene I just linked was a lot darker than most people who watched the movie realized. What happened was the Beast told Belle not to go to the west wing, yet she ignored him and went anyways. When she gets to the west wing, there's tons of destroyed furniture [and it's heavily suggested that the beast destroyed it]. Here's what people don't tend to realize about this scene: A common theme in this film is that the 'objects' are actually alive (in fact, almost all of the furniture was sentient to some degree)... possibly implying a past series of murders from The Beast. Which of course, relates to 1927 for Edward
The story starts to take a turn once The Beast/Edward saves Belle/Bella
Both movies had an awkward dance scene towards the end?
