Sat in on a Baptist Sunday Worship today because a friend was getting baptized.

I'm an atheist but I grew up going to church so there was some familiarity. The prayers, the hymns, it was kind of nice.

Then the sermon began and I shit you not the Pastor stood up and made a biblical argument for giving money to the church. Basically saying good Christians are charitable, but that charity is owed to the church. Plus it'll get you in good with heaven 😉. And if you don't give us Physical Money you are a "SPIRITUAL FREELOADER" (His exact words). My guy had textual support for his argument and everything.

I tried and probably failed so hard to keep a straight face. And my trans atheist social anarchist ass was front and center, so I could get a good picture of my friend getting dunked for Jesus. The pastor could see every twitch and look of horror on my face.

Anyways every time the lure of community draws me in I get slapped in the face with something that reminds me why I could never in good faith participate in organized religion.
