I'm still living in the early 2000s again having fun with that new video editing software I found, and there still aren't enough gimleaf videos in the world, so here I made another one.

Song is Please Don't Leave Me by P!nk.

This one is actually inspired by one of the few gimleaf vids that does exist, as I remember seeing a video to this song with them several years ago that I quite liked and now that I'm not stuck in ancient Windows Movie Maker days any longer I decided to make one of my own.

I always felt the fearful longing of the song fit them particularly well, as Legolas would have long feared losing Gimli to the limits of mortality and Gimli would have likewise feared losing Legolas to the Sea-Longing before they discovered (or decided) how to go to the Undying Lands together.

But of course it has a happy ending, as their story always must, for they are the one couple from The Lord of the Rings that truly does get to live happily ever after together forever.

“Why do you act so clueless?” I asked turning around after walking into his room fully

“You always assume I’m doing something, but I’m not” he replied sitting against his computer desk

“Chris behind closed doors it’s always I love you and you’re the best, but out in public or around your brothers you’re so different” I replied sitting on his bed

“No I’m not” he said throwing his hands up

“Yes Chris you are! Actions speak louder than words” I said shaking my head

“I’m sorry that I don’t live up your ass 24/7 like what more do you want?” He asked laughing dryly

“You’re an ass” I said shaking my head

“Grow up would you?” He said rolling his eyes at me

“How about you grow up” I said slapping my hands on my thighs

“You always throw these temper tantrums it’s insane” he said

“I’m sorry but after trying to talk to you nicely about what’s wrong in our relationship, and it goes through one ear and out the other…..yeah I’m started to throw a fit” I said sarcastically

My face relaxed and I blinked slowly at him…..did he really just say that…

I slammed his door shut and stomped up the stairs walking past Nick and Matt and out the front door.

I drove home in a fit of rage not even realizing I got home. I slammed my bedroom door shut and paced around

I had no tears left for him. I’ve wasted so many days and so many tears on him, and for what? For nothing because he doesn’t care.

Chris was never this toxic, not even as a friend, so I couldn’t understand what his issue was. I mean really? What was his issue

I began to breathe heavily as I let the anger take over me. How could I be an idiot for so long? Thinking he’d change from my words? I was so stupid

It had been a week since Chris and I’s argument, and I tried to reach out to him and he had been ignoring me. Leaving me on delivered, but still posting on Instagram and TikTok. That made me more upset because he was actively ignoring me and he didn’t give a fuck about it

I had FaceTimed Nick, Matt and Larray

“Hey guys” I said

“Hi” they all replied

“So what’s going on with you and Chris?” Nick asked

“I don’t know we got into our argument and it’s been a week and he’s been actively ignoring me” I said rubbing my temples

“I love you Y/N and I love Chris, but if you guys don’t talk this out I don’t think you should be together” Larray said

“That’s what he implied….that he wanted to break up with me” I said shrugging my shoulders

“He’s been going on with life like nothing happened” Matt said

“That’s his problem…he doesn’t want to change unless it benefits himself. He gaslights me and thinks that I’m making issues up” I said

“He’s so fucking toxic girl” Larray said

“He is and I don’t even know what to do” I said

“I think you need to break up with him” Nick said

“I don’t want to because I love him so much” I said shaking my head

“And we know, and he loves you too but I don’t think he’s ready to love you in the way you want him to” Matt said

“I guess you’re right” I said sighing

“I think I’m going to convince him to go over to your house and I want you guys to hash this out” Nick said

“He doesn’t want to be bothered by me” I replied

“No Y/N enough! Stop letting him hurt you. Put your foot down and if he doesn’t care then just leave him. He’s my brother but you’re also my best friend and he’s hurting you badly” Nick replied

“You’re right” I said nodding

“Please for us just get him to see what he’s doing” Matt said

“Okay I will” I replied

“Let us know what happened…love you girl” Larray said

“Love you guys and I’ll talk to you later” I said and hung up

One part of me really wanted to talk to Chris and make this work, but another twisted part of me wanted this to be over…. I couldn’t hurt myself for much longer…. I was growing tired of his actions.

About an hour later my phone started ringing, I looked down at the screen and my heart sank

“Hi” he replied quietly

“Having fun ignoring me” I said sarcastically

“No…I just needed time to think” he said

What was I doing? I should’ve told him no or I should’ve dumped him….. my mind was racing and I was getting anxious

About 20 minutes later I heard a knock on my door, so I got up and opened the door to a very sad Chris

“Come in” I said moving out the way for him

He walked in and we went to my living room, sitting on the couch waiting for one of us to speak

“So” he said

“Listen Chris. I said some things that were hurtful last week, but I can not punish myself for the way I feel. I could’ve gone about it better, but you needed to hear the harsh truth. I love you a lot and I really want to be with you, but you are toxic…..I’m not sure that I can put up with that” I said looking at him

“Y/N I love you too, and you’ve been very patient with me. Patient when you shouldn’t have been. You should've left me. I don’t know why I do this….sabotage everything around me. I have commitment issues, but I know I want to be with you. I’m stuck in my own ways and that haunts me and it hurts you and I don’t know if I can ever change” he said looking at me

“Chris I want to help you change, but you have to accept the help. You’re a great guy and you have a lot of love in your heart, but you don’t know what to do with it” I replied

“You’re my first girlfriend and I guess I got scared. Scared that I could never love you how I should, so I figured it’s easier to be awful and make you hate me, but I realized how stupid that is because I love you so much” he said

“This is why communication is key. I want to help you be better. But you have to take advice and better yourself from it. I’m not perfect at all, but I would never do anything to hurt you like how you have hurt me” I said looking at him

“I’m sorry….I really am” he said shaking his head

“It’s okay Chris, I can not hold this against you” I said smiling softly at him

“I don’t want to break up with you. I want to be better and I want you to feel loved everywhere not just behind closed doors” he said

“Okay” I said nodding

“I love you” he replied smiling at me

“I love you too” I said smiling back

Chris wiped his eyes as he let a few tears slip, and my heart shattered. He was just a boy who wanted to love just as much as he had been loved, but wasn’t sure how. I felt for him and I truly wanted us to work

I leaned over and wiped his tears, rubbing his cheek with my thumb and smiling at him.

“I’ll be here for you” I said leaning in and kissing him

“I’m so sorry for everything I’ve done and said. I promise to be better” he said after we broke away from the kiss

“Okay my love” I said running my hand through his hair

That night Chris and I talked more about our feelings and what we want to fix about our relationship. I really loved the kid and I’m glad we were able to work things out.

You left the glass on the table when you heard the doorbell ring. No one used to visit you apart from the neighbor, who was an old lady. Your eyes widened very wide at the sight of who was outside.

"Steve?!" You exclaimed in surprise.

It's been a long time. I'm sorry. "I need to get in," he said, as he quickly passed inside.

"How do you find me?" You asked, you couldn't believe it. You hoped it wasn't a dream.

"It was simple. Do you know what happened? "

"No, I haven't been here all day." You replied by shaking your head at the same time.

Does anyone know? He didn't dare finish the question. If there was anyone else in your life, he would just leave. He wasn't going to stop you from being happy.

If you mean, if I'm in a relationship, I'm not. What do you mean by "what happened ?" You answered quickly. However, you were more interested in knowing what happened; you didn't even hear the news.

"Thanos eliminated half of the living things."

"What? Is that possible? By the way who is Thanos?" you asked. Since you separated, you had not done a single mission. You spent the first few weeks escaping until you found that place.

"The only good thing is that somehow you exempted us from... well, you know, what happened."

"Are we free? Do we no longer have to hide? "

The entire journey back was deafeningly quiet. It had been two years since the last time you saw each other. You had to separate because of what happened in the Civil War. You knew it was very dangerous to be together, especially as fugitives. In addition to discovering that your neighbor had been one of the victims of the Snap, you chose to also take your pets. You would never allow anything to happen to them. You would take care of them as she had taken care of you.

However, what you did not know is that Steve was always taking care of you, even if it was from afar. He was not going to allow anything bad to happen to you, coupled with the fact that he was aware of the danger you were in if someone came to see them together, and he was not willing to take you to the raft because of him.

Your farewell had not been the most romantic; you had implicitly made a promise that you would be back together when you could when conditions were favourable.

You didn't know how to ask him if he had decided to go on and rebuild his life. You didn't even know what happened to the others.

When you arrived, you stood on the sidewalk. You didn't dare enter. You didn't know what you were going to find in there... maybe Steve... maybe there was someone else.

"Are you okay?" "Steve asked you with concern."

"I don't know. Should I come in? Is there anything else you should tell me? " You inquired cautiously. Steve watched you and then understood what you meant.

Let's go in. "There's nothing else, other than to tell you that I love you and I want us to make up for all the time we've lost, all that time we couldn't be together," he replied, holding your hand to guide you to the entrance of what had been his house.

Everything was the same as you had left it when you had to flee. I didn't even know how it had been preserved in that way during all that time. Several times, you wondered what your lives would be like if the Accords had never existed. You sighed. Maybe Steve was right, and you could get back everything you lost.

Pairing: Sherlock x FemReader

Summary: You and Sherlock have been together for a handful of months. Hes been working on a case non stop, so much so that he continually but unknowingly ignores the reader. Little does he know, shes finally had enough…

Dating the worlds only consulting detective had its many perks. One of them was always the impressive attention to detail that Sherlock would give at his career. Not only just that, but how he would even notice a new shade of lipstick you wore. Or the time you got a new hairstyle and he was the first to say anything positive about it. Memories flooded back to the feeling of his hands running lovingly through your hair; It was the small gestures of admiration you loved about him most of all. You grew to love his craft along with learning how to balance the more unsavory habits that seemed to follow.

One of the things you disliked above all else was how Sherlock would at times just flat-out ignore you. It wasn’t uncommon to find Sherlock quiet for days on end lost in thought. You wished for a moment that he would let you in; to have the desire and feeling of home with your special someone. The times when he would relax on the couch and just hold you; he really did feel like home to you. In those fleeting moments, it truly did feel like Sherlock was your safe haven. More and more lately you began to question deep down if he really felt the same towards you. The potential answer scared you nearly to death; not for fear of being alone. But the fear of you not being safe haven in return. Nevertheless, you stayed by his side in support.

Of course, you knew deep down he wasn’t doing all this to be cruel or vindictive. He loved you deeply, you were sure he did. It had only been a handful of months since you started dating and you didn’t expect an ‘I love you’ right off the bat. But fate had a whole different plan; for you, it was practically love at first sight. How could you forget the first time you saw the great and handsome Sherlock Holmes? The way he wore that perfect dark purple shirt that fit his lean frame just right. The way his blue eyes sparkled in the light with that gorgeous crooked smile when he knew the right answer. Not only that, he was tall and an overall knockout, and he choose you to be his girlfriend after all.

It didn’t come as a surprise at all to find Sherlock still pacing back and forth refusing to sit down. It was your first night off in days and all you wanted was to have some quality time with your man. Shutting the door with your foot you balanced the takeout food in both hands. “Sherlock Im back,” you called, hearing no reply. Knowing he was home, you scoffed setting the bags down on the table and seeing him right where he was before you left. Palms pressed against his mouth, peering out the window still lost in thought. The world around him was completely shut out as your voice echoed louder suddenly breaking his concentration. His head raised at your response snapping him back to reality.

“Sherlock, please come and join me for dinner. I brought your favorite Italian food from down the street,” sorting out the boxes, Sherlock slowly made his way over giving you a small peck on the cheek. Taking his place across from you, he took out his phone and started flicking through the news columns stating flatly. “so what have you been up to these past couple of days? This looks amazing by the way,” your eyebrows raised in shock at the question as he went back to his phone. How could he forget my lessons, I've told him so many times. Tears welled in your eyes as you finished off your plate before taking it to the sink. Your back tensed as you shot your head up, “because Lestrade thinks we can have this case solved by the end of the month if we can properly locate the murders next–“

“Sherlock…we need to talk,” cutting him off with your voice barely above a whisper. Sherlock's head perked up, eyeing you curiously as he sat his fork and knife down. Tucking his phone into his breast pocket, you heard him release a small sigh. “Sure no problem y/n,” he gestured with his hand for you to sit next to him. Glancing over, you could see panic behind his calm stoic demeanor. He didn’t have the heart to look you in the eyes. Taking his hand you leaned in closer, “Sherlock please look at me,” feeling his thumb twitch, he turned to meet your gaze, “you know I love you, I always have. But I’m noticing you are never mentally present with me anymore. I’ve told you many times about what I’ve been up to and you can’t even remember that because of this stupid case in Dartford. All I’m asking is for one night that’s ours, Sherlock. And besides, it wouldn’t kill you to take a night off anyways…” you trailed off with nothing more to say, eyeing the mahogany table afraid to look up.

Sherlock took a deep breath measuring his words carefully, “I do listen to you y/n, you know I’m trying,” bringing his free hand on top of yours cupping it gently, “And my work is important to me it’s…everything to me.”

You stood up, placing a hand on your chest exclaiming in frustration, “But I’m here too Sherlock! I always have been! The least you could do is make an honest sacrifice for me. Is it too much to ask of you to remember stuff about my life!” Wiping the tears from your eyes Sherlock stood up. His voice was laced with frustration, “But you knew what you got into with me! I just need to solve this case! If you can’t accept that y/n then-” Taking a seat in his favorite chair, he pulled out a cigarette lighting it with a match. Matching his tone, you stood up crossing your arms in disbelief at what you just heard, “then I can just what. Sherlock.” Tears welling in your eyes. In all your time together Sherlock never raised his voice to you. He always kept his temper, but something in this made him snap. The thought of a routine being broken….

“Then you can just leave y/n,” he spoke dryly, taking a drag of his cigarette. Flicking the ash to the floor, you grabbed all your stuff as fast as you could. Fighting off the pain and anger as best as you can. As you gathered the last of your things you wiped a tear from your cheek taking one last look at the man who was once your home. Grabbing the door handle Sherlock shot up snuffing out the cigarette turning towards you pleading softly.

“Y/n, wait. Please don’t leave,” he gingerly stepped closer extending his hand out, “I didn’t. I-I didn’t mean it,” eyeing you with hope, you shot him a look that could cut through the strongest man. But it was too late to apologize... Gathering all your courage, you turned the handle refusing to look back. Taking every ounce of strength you muttered, “Goodbye Sherlock,” closing the door you waited till it was all clear before the tears turned into sobbing. You’ve never felt rejection this bad before. Shaking it off you continued down Bakerstreet as Sherlock was finally left alone with his thoughts. Gripping the doorframe he finally collapsed his shoulders releasing a sob, what have I done….For he just made the biggest human error in his lifetime.
